A new species of the pyralid moth, Pediasia sinevi Shodotova et Bolshakov, sp. n., is described from Central Yakutia (locus typicus—Bestyakh). This species is very similar to P. jucundella (Herrich-Schäffer, 1847) in color and pattern of the wings and also similar to P. truncatella (Zetterstedt, 1839) in the structure of the male genitalia. The holotype and paratype are deposited at the Zoological Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences (St. Petersburg).  相似文献

Paranoplocephala aquatica n. sp. is described from Arvicola terrestris and Ondatra zibethica (Rodentia, Cricetidae) in Bulgaria. The new species is characterised by a band-like strobila, a uterus forming a fine reticulate structure in the early stages of development, numerous testes (approximately 92) situated mainly aporally to the ovary in both the median and the aporal lateral fields, few testes positioned anterior to the ovary and genital ducts, the prominent asymmetrical situation of the female organs, the length of the vagina c. 0.65–0.68 of the length of the cirrus-sac, and the external seminal vesicle covered by a cellular sleeve. The new species is distinguished from P. ondatrae, P. macrocephala, P. dasymidis and P. sciuri. The specimens from O. zibethica reported as P. ondatrae by Tenora & Murai (1980) and as Aprostatandrya macrocephala by Spasskii et al. (1951) are believed to belong to P. aquatica. The type-series of P. ondatrae and P. macrocephala are redescribed and figured; metric data and an illustration of the holotype of P. sciuri are presented. The genus Paranoplocephala sensu Tenora et al. (1986) is regarded as a heterogeneous group because of the two patterns of uterine development in the species studied. Taxonomic criteria used for distinguishing the genera Andrya and Paranoplocephala, and some criteria applicable at the species level, are discussed.  相似文献

The status of Mastodon angustidens pygmaeus Depéret, 1897 is discussed on the basis of an examination of the holotype (a broken lower molar) with tomography using X-rays, and on a review of the previous taxonomic hypotheses. The conclusion is that the holotype is a possible supernumerary post-m3 molar that may be that of a tetralophodont gomphothere. “Mangustidens pygmaeus” is then a nomen dubium that should only be used in relation to the holotype.  相似文献

The monotypical orphnine genus Stenosternus Karsch is known from a single specimen of Stenosternus costatus collected on the São Tomé island (Gulf of Guinea). The holotype of Stenosternus costatus Karsch is re-examined and its characters are discussed and illustrated. Although the genus was implicitly placed by Paulian (1984) in the Old World tribe Orphnini Erichson, re-examination of the holotype of Stenosternus costatus shows that it has characters similar to those of the members of the New World tribe Aegidiini Paulian. Placement of Stenosternus in the Aegidiini is supported by the metepisternum widened posteriorly (forming posterior metepisternal lock for closed elytra) and a keel separating basal and anterolateral parts of propleurae. Relationships of Stenosternus with other orphnine taxa and possible ways of origin of São Toméan orphnine fauna are discussed.  相似文献

Punctelia perreticulata(Räsänen) G. Wilh. & Ladd is recognized as a distinct species. The only consistent differences betweenP. perreticulataandP. subrudecta(Nyl.) Krog are the shape and length of conidia. Both species are widespread in the world. InP. perreticulata, there are differences in conidial length among the European, American and Australasian samples studied, but they neither correlate with differences observed in other morphological traits nor with the substratum. An epitype is selected to support the holotype ofP. perreticulata, because its identity is uncertain due to the absence of conidia.  相似文献

The holotype of Chitinotylenchus paragracilis (Micoletzky, 1922) is redescribed and illustrated. Chitinotylenchus is proposed as a synonym of Ditylenchus Filipjev, 1936 and C. paragracilis as Ditylenchus paragracilis (Micoletzky, 1922) new comb. The four other species in the genus Chitinotylenchus are considered species inquirendae.  相似文献

Promyllantor atlanticus sp. nova is described from two specimens (the holotype TL 518 mm) from waters of southeastern Atlantic west of Congo (6°14′S, 11°24′E) at the depth of 495 m. It differs from a similar species in the number of vertebrae species P. adenensis in longer pectoral fins, deeper head, and fewer pores in the suborbital and mandibular canals.  相似文献

The Parapatocerates from the Süntel (Weser mountains, Northwest Germany) are described being an utmost variable subspecies respectively geographical raceParapatoceras distans (?) bentzi (Potonié) with two possibly modificatorily separated form groups. They differ from the similarP. distans(?) crioconus (Buckman) (=Crioconites Buckman) of Chippenham (England) in primary quadrilobaty and further characteristics accessible only by precise analysis. To establish the speciesdistans Baugier & Sauzé and with this the genusParapatoceras, recovery of the holotype or a determination of a neotype is required. A very similar but probably quinquelobate specimen (Parapatoceras sp.) from the Macrocephalus oolite of Hanover seems to accentuate once more the taxonomically minor degree of the quadri- or quinquelobaty inParapatoceras.  相似文献

A new species Pseudoplatychirus glupovi is described from the highlands of the Altai Mts. (the Ukok Plateau). This is also the first record of the genus Pseudoplatychirus from Russia. The new species differs from P. peteri Doesburg, 1955 in the wing membrane more strongly pubescent with microtrichia, in the brown halteres with black capitulum, and in the structure of the male genitalia. The holotype and paratypes are deposited in the Siberian Zoological Museum, Institute of Animal Systematics and Ecology, Novosibirsk, Russia.  相似文献

Background

Centrosaurine ceratopsids are well known from the middle Campanian Upper Two Medicine Formation of Montana. Four taxa have been named: Brachyceratops montanensis, Rubeosaurus ovatus, Einiosaurus procurvicornis, and Achelousaurus horneri. Rubeosaurus has been historically the most enigmatic of these taxa; only two specimens, the holotype caudal parietal bar and a referred incomplete skull, have been assigned to Rubeosaurus.

Methodology/Principal Findings

A revised interpretation of the parietal processes of USNM 14765, the partial skeleton of a subadult centrosaurine formerly referred to Brachyceratops, indicates that it shares a P5 spike with the holotype of Rubeosaurus ovatus and should therefore be referred to that taxon. Brachyceratops is considered a nomen dubium.

Conclusions/Significance

USNM 14765 provides additional anatomical information for Rubeosaurus ovatus. These new data are incorporated into a recent phylogenetic analysis of centrosaurine relationships; Rubeosaurus appears as the sister taxon of a clade composed of Einiosaurus, Achelousaurus, and Pachyrhinosaurus.  相似文献

Pterodactylus antiquus has long been thought to have been quite small (~50 cm wingspan) and to have differed from P. longicollum, Ctenochasma, Germanodactylus, and Gnathosaurus in lacking a bony cranial crest, though a soft tissue crest and occipital lappet have been described. This article describes a new specimen of P. antiquus larger than all previously known specimens, which demonstrates that the species exceeded 1 m in wingspan and had a low bony cranial crest. A smaller, incipient crest was identified on the holotype specimen. Additional specimens, including the counterpart of Wellnhofer’s original occipital lappet specimen, provide evidence of the occipital lappet and the soft tissue crest extending upward above the naso-antorbital fenestra and orbit. In order to provide a proper taxonomic context for the findings, the recent synonymization of the species Pterodactylus antiquus and P. kochi on the basis of shared correlation of tooth number and skull length despite perceived differences in dentition and skull, neck, and trunk proportions is reviewed. A measurement error that had made it appear that P. antiquus differed significantly from P. kochi in proportions is documented, and after correction of the measurement error and reevaluation of the dental evidence there are no significant differences between the two nominal species. Thus, the synonymization of P. antiquus and P. kochi was appropriate, and a revised diagnosis is presented. In addition, the species P. longicollum and P. micronyx, which for some years have been viewed as not congeneric with P. antiquus, are placed in a new genus and transferred to Aurorazhdarcho, respectively.  相似文献
