In ohmically heated (OH) plasma with low recycling, an improved particle confinement (IPC) mode is established during gas puffing. However, after gas puffing is switched off, this mode is retained only for about 100 ms, after which an abrupt phase transition into the low particle confinement (LPC) mode occurs in the entire plasma cross section. During such a transition, energy transport due to heat conduction does not change. The phase transition in OH plasma is similar to the effect of density pump-out from the plasma core, which occurs after electron cyclotron heating (ECH) is switched on. Analysis of the measured plasma pressure profiles in the T-10 tokamak shows that, after gas puffing in the OH mode is switched off, the plasma pressure profile in the IPC stage becomes more peaked and, after the peakedness exceeds a certain critical value, the IPC-LPC transition occurs. Similar processes are also observed during ECH. If the pressure profile is insufficiently peaked during ECH, then the density pump-out effect comes into play only after the critical peakedness of the pressure profile is reached. In the plasma core, the density and pressure profiles are close to the corresponding canonical profiles. This allows one to derive an expression for the particle flux within the canonical profile model and formulate a criterion for the IPC-LPC transition. The time evolution of the plasma density profile during phase transitions was simulated for a number of T-10 shots with ECH and high recycling. The particle transport coefficients in the IPC and LPC phases, as well as the dependences of these coefficients on the ECH power, are determined.  相似文献

The stability of electrostatic cyclotron mode is investigated in a flowing magnetized dusty plasma in the presence of strong ion–neutral collisions. In the high magnetic field limit, when the dust magnetization becomes important, it is expected that the collective behavior of magnetized dust grains suspended in the near-sheath region substantially influences the dispersion properties of electrostatic modes. The growth/damping of the collective excitation is significantly controlled by such parameters as the ion–neutral collision frequency, Mach number, and magnetic field strength. In our case, the explicit dependence of the Mach number on the magnetic field and collision frequency has been taken into account and possible implications on the stability of the mode is analyzed. Streaming instability of cyclotron modes may be important to understand issues related to the interaction mechanism between dust grains and other associated phenomena like Coulomb crystallization, phase behavior, transport properties, etc., in the relatively strong magnetic field limit, which is currently accessible in the DPD (Kiel University) and MDPX (PSL, Auburn University) experiments.  相似文献

Cu++, Mn++, and Fe+++ account for the electron spin resonances observed in certain samples of ATP and RNA. The copper ion seems more loosely bound to these substances than either iron or manganese. A striking similarity is observed between the manganese spectra in manganese RNA, ATP, and ADP suggesting that the binding sites are similar in the three compounds. The similarity of the e.s.r. spectra of iron ATP and of iron and manganese RNA, except for hyperfine spectrum (hfs) in the latter, suggests that the two ions bind similarly in the two compounds. A detailed interpretation of the spectra is lacking however and these conclusions can only be tentative. When manganese TPP and ATP are heated or pH changed the e.s.r. alters indicating a change in the environment of the ion. The sharp 6 line manganese spectrum in both TPP and ATP at pH 1 suggests an almost “free” ion at this pH in the sense of an almost isotropic average environment.  相似文献

Plasma turbulence at frequencies near the lower hybrid resonance is studied experimentally with the KROT device. Nonlinear effects during the interaction of intense lower hybrid waves with a magnetoactive plasma are investigated, with the focus on the formation and evolution of nonlinear plasma structures (cavitons). The characteristics of shock waves in a relativistic plasma in the presence of nonisothermal electrons and nonisothermal negative ions is investigated by deriving the evolution equation in terms of a modified 3D Burgers equation, or trapped 3D Burgers equation. The solution of this equation is examined analytically to study the salient characteristics of shock waves in such plasma. The nonlinear coefficient is found to have the lowest (highest) value when the negative ions move toward thermal equilibrium with a dip-shaped electron distribution (when both electrons and negative ions follow a dip-shaped distribution) for a particular value of relativistic factor, and it remains in an intermediate state when both electrons and negative ions follow a flat-topped distribution. On the other hand, the dissipative coefficient is found to decrease (increase) with increasing relativistic parameter (viscous parameter). A profound effect of the trapped state of both electrons and negative ions and the temperature ratio between positive ions and electrons (negative ions and electrons) on the structure of the shock wave is also seen. However, it has been noticed that the trapped parameter of electrons has a dominating control over the shock potential profile than the trapped parameter of negative ions.  相似文献

One- (ID) and two-dimensional (2D) EPR images of the persistent free radical di-tertiary-butyl-nitroxide are measured. At a microwave frequency of 9.5 GHz (X-band), 2D images are obtained in skin biopsies with an actual point distinction resolution of 25 μm. In a biological model system. 2D images are measured at L-band frequency (2.0 GHz) with a pixel resolution of 61 μm. and a theoretical spatial resolution of 12.5 μm. In combination with the spin labeling and spin trapping technique. Parallel propagating electromagnetic electron cyclotron (EMEC) waves in the extended plasma sheet (~12RS) and in the outer magnetosphere (~18RS) of Saturn have been studied. A dispersion relation for parallel propagating relativistic EMEC waves has been applied to the magnetosphere of Saturn, and comparisons have been made with the data of Voyager 1 at these radial distances. The detailed investigations for EMEC waves have been done in the presence of the perpendicular AC electric field, using the kappa distribution function. The relativistic temporal growth rate is calculated by the method of characteristic solution with the data provided by Voyager 1. The effect of the suprathermal electron density, temperature anisotropy, frequency of AC electric field, thermal energy of ions, and relativistic factor on the temporal growth rate of EMEC wave emission has been studied. The simulation results show that the growth of parallel propagating EMEC waves is significantly affected by variations in the temperature anisotropy, electron density, ion thermal energy, and relativistic factor in both the extended plasma sheet and the outer magnetosphere of Saturn. The temperature anisotropy (T⊥/T), ion thermal energy (KBTi), and electron density (n0) have been found to be a major source of free energy for parallel propagating EMEC waves in both regions.  相似文献

MnmE is a GTP-binding protein conserved between bacteria and eukarya. It is a dimeric three-domain protein where the two G domains have to approach each other for activation of the potassium-stimulated GTPase reaction. Together with GidA, in a heterotetrameric α2β2 complex, it is involved in the modification of the wobble uridine base U34 of the first anticodon position of particular tRNAs. Here we show, using various spin-labeled MnmE mutants and EPR spectroscopy, that GidA binding induces large conformational and dynamic changes in MnmE. It stimulates the GTPase reaction by stabilizing the GTP-bound conformation in a potassium-independent manner. Surprisingly, GidA binding influences not only the GTP- but also the GDP-bound conformation. Thus GidA is a new type of regulator for a G protein activated by dimerization.  相似文献

The electromagnetic wave scattering due to excitation of surface plasmons from a metallic rod with dielectric layer embedded in the long plasma column is investigated. In the first part, for short-wavelength waves by investigating the variations of surface polarized charge density on the boundaries, the resonance frequencies and the effective factors on it such as the geometrical dimensions, the radius of the metal, the dielectric thickness, and the plasma radius will be analyzed. In the second part, for presenting an exact analysis and categorizing types of resonant frequency to the dominant resonant frequency and subsidiary resonant frequency of the plasmons, the scattering of long-wavelength waves from the mentioned object will be reviewed. In both cases, the backscattering cross section which is a scale of the scattered power in the direction of incident will be presented.  相似文献

The maintenance of epithelial cell function requires the establishment and continuous renewal of differentiated apical and basolateral plasma membrane domains with distinct lipid and protein compositions. Newly synthesized proteins destined for either surface domain are processed along the biosynthetic pathway and segregated into distinct subsets of transport carriers emanating from the trans -Golgi network. Recent studies have illuminated additional complexities in the subsequent delivery of these proteins to the cell surface. In particular, multiple routes to the apical and basolateral cell surfaces have been uncovered, and many of these involve indirect passage through endocytic compartments. In this paper, we propose a novel sub-wavelength plasma structure that can effectively enhance surface plasmon resonance (SPR) to achieve a significant local field. On the basis of a plasma ring structure, we add a slit and two thin plasma layers, working as a metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguide at a specific incident wave frequency and generate the Fabry-Perot resonance (FPR). The structure thus couples the incident wave energy to the vicinity of the slit and intensifies the SPR inside the plasma ring. In addition, we also find the coupling and competing between SPR and FPR. For the coupling mode, the average field enhancement in the ring is up to a factor of 9.7. Moreover, the optimized thickness of the plasma layer is much thinner than the skin depth of the plasma to ensure the incident wave easily entering the MIM waveguide. We further calculate the dispersion relationship of surface plasmon polaritons in the waveguide cavity. The simulation results and theoretical dispersion function are in good agreements.
