Abstract 1 The native elm bark beetle, Hylurgopinus rufipes, is the principal vector of Dutch elm disease in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and North Dakota, and disease management measures include applying residual insecticides to the lower part of elm tree trunks where the adult beetles overwinter. 2 In American elm trees in southern Manitoba, we counted entrance holes produced by beetles then felled and dissected trees to determine numbers of tunnels and numbers and survival of overwintering beetles. 3 Densities of entrance holes, tunnels and beetles followed a logistic relationship with tree trunk diameter; densities were near zero at diameters < 10 cm and reached a site‐specific asymptote at diameters > 20 cm. 4 Asymptotic densities of holes, tunnels and beetles in samples from 55 to 190 cm above the ground were, respectively, 22%, 22% and 0.7% of those within 25 cm of the ground. 5 Within the height range 0–190 cm, the proportion of living beetles declined steeply with increasing height. 6 Average density of holes at height 0–25 cm estimated from a sample of several trees of diameter ≥15 cm could be used to predict the asymptotic maximum density of overwintering beetles in the site; predictions of beetle densities for individual trees were not reliable.  相似文献

Large seed tubers (mean 134 g) and small seed tubers (50 g) of three early and three maincrop potato cultivars, spaced respectively 48 and 30 cm apart within rows, were inoculated with Rhizoctonia solani at planting in 1985 and 1986. All seed of early cultivars was sprouted and maincrop seed was either sprouted or not sprouted. In all cultivars, plant emergence was slower from small than large seed and with both was delayed by inoculation. From 11 wk after planting numbers of stems and tubers and weights of foliage and tubers/m2 were usually similar from small and large seed when not inoculated, but inoculating delayed plant growth and decreased tuber numbers and yield more from small than large seed. Inoculating decreased mean yields from large and small seed of early cultivars at 11 wk by respectively 24% and 31% (Arran Comet), 12% and 18% (Estima) and by 10% and 28% (Wilja) and losses were greatest with saleable sized tubers (3–4 cm). When grown to maturity inoculating decreased yields by 7% (Arran Comet), 5% (Estima) and 14% (Wilja). With maincrop cultivars, yields in October from large and small seed were decreased by respectively 4% and 10% (DCsirke), 9% and 12% (Maris Piper) and by 14% and 22% (Pentland Squire). In all cultivars yields of tubers < 44 mm and 44–70 mm were decreased and, with Pentland Squire, tubers > 82 mm were increased. The incidence of stem canker and of black scurf on progeny tubers was not affected by seed size but in all cultivars the percentage of greened tubers was slightly increased by inoculation.  相似文献

Xylem embolism, the reduction of water flow by air-filled vessels, was measured in a stand of 5- to 8-year-old sugar maple (Acer saccharum Marsh.) saplings growing in a nursery bed in northwestern Vermont. Embolism was quantified as percentage loss in hydraulic conductivity of trunk and branch segments relative to maximum values obtained by removing air from vessels by repeated high pressure (173 kPa) perfusions. Ten segments per tree were cut from 6 trees for each of 11 measurement periods spaced at roughly monthly intervals from May 1986 to June 1987. During the 1986 growing season, embolism increased significantly from 11 to 31% in the larger branches and trunk (segment diameter #8805;0.5 cm), but remained at about 10% in twigs (segment diameter <0.5 cm). This was unexpected because the greatest water stess and thus potential for embolism occurs in twigs. During the winter, embolism increased throughout the trees and the trend with diameter was reversed; by February, small twigs were 84% embolized vs. 69% for larger branches and trunk. Dye perfusions showed that winter embolism in trunks was localized on the south side; this may have resulted from water loss by sublimation or evaporation in the absence of water uptake. Beginning in late March, embolism decreased throughout the trees to approximately 20% in June. This decrease was associated with positive xylem pressure of at least 16 kPa which may have originated in the roots, because weather conditions at the time were unfavorable for the generation of stem pressures characteristic of Acer species in early spring.  相似文献

Abstract Hip holes are shallow, reniform‐shaped depressions found next to the trunks of many trees and shrubs in arid and semi‐arid Australia. They are constructed by kangaroos (Macropus spp.), who use them as diurnal resting sites, particularly during hot weather. Physical and chemical properties of soils in hip holes were compared with non‐hole microsites adjacent to the trunk (‘trunk’), microsites below the canopy (‘canopy’) and microsites out in the open (‘open’) under two trees (Eucalyptus intertexta, Alectryon oleifolius) and one shrub (Dodonaea viscosa) in a semi‐arid woodland in eastern Australia. Overall, there were few effects under D. viscosa apart from a greater (10‐fold) mass of litter in the hip holes compared with the trunk microsite. Hip holes under E. intertexta and A. oleifolius, however, contained six times more dung compared with the trunk microsite. For the two tree species, soils in the hip holes were significantly more erodible, as measured by aggregation levels, compared with the other microsites, but there were no significant differences in bulk density nor pH. Steady‐state infiltration rates at the hip hole and trunk microsites were significantly greater than those in the open, but there was no significant hip hole effect. Soils in the hip holes contained greater levels of exchangeable calcium and magnesium (E. intertexta) and greater exchangeable sodium (A. oleifolius) compared with trunk microsites. Hip holes under E. intertexta contained approximately 68% more organic carbon, total carbon and nitrogen, and 86% more sulfur compared with trunk microsites. Similarly, hip holes under A. oleifolius contained on average 38% more organic and total carbon, and 47% more nitrogen than trunk microsites. Given the density of hip holes and their impact on soil chemistry, kangaroos are considered to be important elements in the maintenance of heterogeneity in these woodlands.  相似文献

Epiphytes are integral to tropical forests yet little is understood about how succession proceeds in these communities. As trees increase in size they create microhabitats for late‐colonizing species in both small and large branches while maintaining small tree microhabitats for early colonizing species in the small and young branches. Thus, epiphyte succession may follow different models depending on the scale: at the scale of the entire tree, epiphytes may follow a species accumulation model where species are continuously added to the tree as trees increase in size but at the scale of one zone on a branch (e.g., inner crown: 0–2 m from the trunk), they may follow the replacement model of succession seen in terrestrial ecosystems. Assuming tree size as an indicator of tree age, I surveyed 61 Virola koschnyi trees of varying size (2.5–103.3 cm diameter at breast height) in lowland wet tropical forest in Costa Rica to examine how epiphyte communities change through succession. Epiphyte communities in small trees were nested subsets of those in large trees and epiphyte communities became more similar to the largest trees as trees increased in size. Furthermore, epiphyte species in small trees were replaced by mid‐ and late‐successional species in the oldest parts of the tree crown but dispersed toward the younger branches as trees increased in size. Thus, epiphyte succession followed a replacement model in particular zones within treecrowns but a species accumulation model at the scale of the entire tree crown.  相似文献

Sleeping sites may be beneficial for animals in terms of thermoregulation, proximity to foraging sites, and protection from predators and infectious diseases. The abundance of adequate sleeping sites is thus essential for the survival of primates. We investigated microhabitats around sleeping sites, and the influence of habitat degradation on sleeping site choice and usage, in the nocturnal Sahamalaza sportive lemur, Lepilemur sahamalazensis. We used quarter point sampling (N?=?315) to describe five forest fragments and 57 sleeping sites and continuous focal animal sampling (N?=?45) to determine the diurnal activity budget, to determine whether individuals inhabiting different fragments or sleeping site types showed different levels of vigilance. Our results suggest that tall trees with large crowns, a high density of small trees, and dense canopy are particularly important for sleeping site choice. Microhabitat structure around sleeping sites did not differ between forest fragments or sleeping site types. Diameter at breast height, crown diameter, canopy cover, and bole height were similar for all sleeping trees, as were the number of lianas in trees with tree-tangle sleeping sites, and the volume of tree holes. Tree holes used as sleeping sites were most often found in dead trees of Bridelia pervilleana (50–62.5 %), whereas tree tangle sites were most often located in Sorindeia madagascariensis (20–62.5 %). Lemurs were active 5–14 % of the daytime, although they never left their sleeping sites or fed. Individuals occupying tree holes had higher levels of activity than those in tree tangles, and those in more degraded fragments were more active. Our results suggest that Sahamalaza sportive lemurs choose their sleeping sites according to specific habitat characteristics, and that factors associated with old and intact forest are likely to be crucial for their survival.  相似文献

The earliest axes exceeding 10 cm in diameter, and presumed to represent small trees, evolved in the Middle Devonian (about 395 million years). They belong to the Cladoxylopsida, a basal group of ferns s.l. lacking leaves. These trees grow mainly vertically, the trunk producing short-lived branches at the top and adventitious roots at the base. They show a dissected vascularisation, and little if any secondary tissues. The Archaeopteridales that evolved at the end of the Middle Devonian, have leaves, abundant wood, and secondary phloem. Growth in the aerial and subterranean parts is tri-dimensional and extensive. Contrary to these two strategies that evolved several times independently during the history of terrestrial plants, that exhibited by the lycophytes became extinct at the end of the Mesozoic. These trees are characterized by a symmetrical development of the aerial and underground parts that branch dichotomously. Branch production by the trunk is relatively late. These trees show a narrow vascular system and a wide cortex.  相似文献

Temperature Fluctuation in Wintering Trees   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
To investigate the mechanism of frost damage in trees, the temperature fluctualions in the stems and leaves of some wintering trees were recorded with copperconstantan thermocouples. In Sapporo, even the trunk of large elm trees with diameter of 86 cm are frozen during the winter. In a Kalopanax trunk with a diameter of 13.5 cm, the bark temperature on the south side which is exposed to direct sunshine reaches nearly 20°C about midday in midwinter; while, on the north side, the temperature remains nearly the same as the environmental temperature (0 to -5°C). The rise in the bark temperature in trees is considerably affected by factors such as the intensity of sunshine, the environmental temperature, the diameter of the trunk, the side of the trunk which the bark is on, the height above the ground, and the colour of the bark surface, etc. This rise is far less in small twigs, slender stems, and small leaves than in large ones. The south side of the bark 10 to 15 cm above the snow surface or above the ground in a slender stem is exposed to a remarkable fluctuation in temperature, especially when the ground is covered with snow. Even in northern trees, the cortical cells on the south side of trunks and twigs are less resistant to freezing than those on the north.  相似文献

Capsule Nuthatches used holes with strong walls, typically in live trees with entrances reduced by plastering, and ‘oversized’ interiors filled with bark flakes.

Aims To describe patterns of nest-site utilization by Nuthatches in primeval conditions, to examine the influence of various hole attributes on nesting success and to consider the adaptive value of nest-site choice.

Methods Observations of birds living in undisturbed conditions in a strictly protected part of the Bia?owie?a National Park (Poland) during 27 breeding seasons coupled with measurements of hole attributes and observations of nests' fate.

Results Tree species used for breeding differed among habitats. Holes were on average 14.0 m above the ground, in trees with girth at breast height 206 cm; both parameters varied strongly among tree species. They were situated mainly in tree trunks (76%), in living trees (89%), in conical knotholes (51%); woodpecker-made holes constituted 32%. Nuthatches bred in very large (mean bottom area: 325 cm2) holes, the preferred tree species (Maple Acer platanoides, Ash Fraxinus excelsior) had larger holes than other tree species. Nuthatches reduced entrances by ‘plastering’ to a mean size of 2.9 × 3.3 cm. They made the holes substantially shallower by filling them with bark flakes (mean depth to nest level: 10 cm), eggs were laid in depressions among flakes, far from the entrance (mean distance: 21 cm), their ‘nests’ occupied only a fraction of the hole area. Broods in holes with smaller entrances were the most successful. Eggs and small young were covered with bark during the absence of the female. Larger nestlings, when endangered, moved to the rear wall of the hole, where they stayed tightly pressed. These behaviour patterns reduced the risk of predation.

Conclusion The features of holes used by Nuthatches (combination of strong walls, small entrances and large bottoms with copious filling) are probably an evolutionary solution to the need to evade predators while keeping contents of the nest dry.  相似文献

Marmosets of the genus Callithrix are specialized in the consumption of tree exudates to obtain essential nutritional resource by boring holes into bark with teeth. However, marmoset preferences for particular tree species, location, type, and other suitable factors that aid in exudate acquisition need further research. In the current study, the intensity of exudate use from Anadenanthera peregrina var. peregrina trees by hybrid marmosets Callithrix spp. groups was studied in five forest fragments in Viçosa, in the state of Minas, Brazil. Thirty-nine A. peregrina var. peregrina trees were examined and 8,765 active and non-active holes were analyzed. The trunk of A. peregrina var. peregrina had a lower number of holes than the canopy: 11% were found on the trunk and 89% were found on the canopy. The upper canopy was the preferred area by Callithrix spp. for obtaining exudates. The intensity of tree exploitation by marmosets showed a moderate-to-weak correlation with diameter at breast height (DBH) and total tree height. The overall results indicate that Anadenanthera peregrina var. peregrina provides food resources for hybrid marmosets (Callithrix spp.) and these animals prefer to explore this resource on the apical parts of the plant, where the thickness, location, and age of the branches are the main features involved in the acquisition of exudates.  相似文献

Belowground tree growth attributes determine whether associations will be complementary or competitive in an agroforestry context. A study on fine root (d?≤?2?mm) distribution patterns of Dacryodes edulis based on root density (RD), root length density (RLD) and root weight density (RWD) was conducted to evaluate the effect of propagation methods on rooting distribution. Results showed that D. edulis trees of seed origin had greater RD (P?≤?0.001) than trees of vegetative origin (cuttings and marcots) in the upper soil stratum (0–30?cm). Similarly, in the uppermost soil stratum (0–10?cm), RLD and RWDs varied significantly (P?<?0.01). Trees of seed origin had an exponential distribution pattern for fine RD, RLD and RWD with depth to 80?cm. In contrast, the distribution pattern of fine roots of trees of vegetative origin (cuttings and marcots) were quadratic for the same variables which increased in the 20–30?cm soil depth stratum before declining steadily to a depth of 80?cm. The findings of this study suggest that D. edulis trees of vegetative origin (cuttings and marots) are likely to be less competitive than trees of seed origin when intercropped with shallow-rooted annual plants in an agroforestry system for belowground resources.

Soil organic carbon (soil C) sequestration in forests is often higher under nitrogen (N2)-fixing than under non-N2-fixing tree species. Here, we examined whether soil C could be increased using mixed-species plantations compared to monocultures, which are less productive aboveground than mixtures. In addition, we compared soil C sequestration under N2-fixing trees with non-N2-fixing trees that received N fertilizer. Monocultures of Eucalyptus globulus (E) and the N2-fixing Acacia mearnsii (A) and mixtures of these species were planted in a replacement series: 100%E, 75%E + 25%A, 50%E + 50%A, 25%E + 75%A and 100%A. Soil samples were also collected from fertilized monoculture treatments (100%EFer) of E. globulus (250 kg N ha?1). Total organic C, N and phosphorus were determined at age 8 years at two soil depths (0–10 cm and 10–30 cm) and three density fractions of soil organic matter (SOM) were quantified for 0–5 cm depth. Soil C was highest in the 50%E + 50%A mixed stand and was highly correlated with aboveground biomass, not to the percentage of A. mearnsii in mixtures. This was largely due to soil C at 10–30 cm because there were no treatment effects on soil C at 0–10 cm. All density fractions of SOM at 0–5 cm increased with the percentage of A. mearnsii. In E. globulus monocultures, N fertilization did not increase soil C when compared with unfertilized stands. These results indicate that the inclusion of N2-fixing trees into eucalypt plantations may increase soil C stocks through increased productivity.  相似文献

Soil moisture content (SMC) and throughfall were monitored along transects between rows of radiata pine (Pinus radiata D. Don) planted at 7 m row spacing and grown with ryegrass/clover or lucerne pastures or with no understorey. SMC was recorded to 1 or 2 m depths for years 2–6 or 4–6, respectively. The predominant rainfall from the south–south–west (SSW) direction created rain shadows (60% of open pasture) on the northern sunny side of the trees. The rain shadows increased as the trees grew but their position were modified by stand pruning and thinning in years 4 and 5. SMC in the top meter showed strong positional effects with the lowest SMC under the tree crowns and on the northern side. There were strong seasonal patterns driven by high spring and summer evapotranspiration, modified by rain shadows and stand age. For the no-understorey treatment, SMC remained high midway between tree rows until the trees were 4 years old and started utilizing this moisture. For the two pasture understoreys, the difference in SMC between the north and south sides decreased with time after trees were thinned and pruned. In the no-understorey there was little difference between the two aspects. Understorey evapotranspiration and fine rooting patterns also helped explain soil moisture use patterns. No difference was detected between two contrasting radiata pine tree types. The effective rooting depth of the ryegrass/clover understorey was <0.7 m while that of lucerne and trees were deeper. Alternative tree planting practices may reduce some of the negative effects of tree-understory moisture competition.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to evaluate growth along the stem of Araucaria angustifolia (Bertol.) Kuntze trees competing in overstocked stands, in order to identify periods when growth and trunk shape are differentiated during the trees' lifespan. The research was carried out in a planted forest of Araucaria angustifolia established in 1946 in the Açungui National Forest in Campo Largo, Paraná, Brazil, when these trees were 65 years old. One thinning was recorded, at some time between 1970 and 1980. Forty-six trees were selected and divided into three development classes (DC) at 65 years of age; these classes considered diameter at 1.30 m (breast height, dbh) with a range of 20 cm (from 10 cm to 70 cm). In addition to dbh, total tree height, and crown height and diameter were measured in the field. From each tree, 14 disks were removed to analyze growth rings and confirm the age of the stand. Some trees in the smallest DC (10 ≤ dbh < 30 cm) were the product of natural regeneration (younger trees that grew after the initial planting). In 63% of the trees, at least one growth ring was missing at breast height. Missing rings at breast height were more common in trees with smaller dbh and crown diameters. The need for more growing space was observed at different periods during the studied lifespan of the trees from three DCs. It resulted in changes in stems shape from conical to cylindrical. Different growth patterns could be observed during the lives of some trees as they outgrew their competition.  相似文献

Aim

The biodiversity value of scattered trees in modified landscapes is often overlooked in planning and conservation decisions. We conducted a multitaxa study to determine how wildlife abundance, species richness and community composition at individual trees are affected by (1) the landscape context in which trees are located; and (2) the size of trees.

Location

Canberra, south‐eastern Australia.

Methods

Trunk arthropod, bat and bird surveys were undertaken over 3 years (2012–2014) at 72 trees of three sizes (small (20–50 cm DBH), medium (51–80 cm), large (≥80 cm)) located in four landscape contexts (reserves, pasture, urban parklands, urban built‐up areas).

Results

Landscape context affected all taxa surveyed. Trunk arthropod communities differed between trees in urban built‐up areas and reserves. Bat activity and richness were significantly reduced at trees in urban built‐up areas suggesting that echolocating bats may be disturbed by high levels of urbanization. Bird abundance and richness were highest at trees located in modified landscapes, highlighting the value of scattered trees for birds. Bird communities also differed between non‐urban and urban trees. Tree size had a significant effect on birds but did not affect trunk arthropods and bats. Large trees supported higher bird abundance, richness and more unique species compared to medium and small trees.

Main conclusions

Scattered trees support a diversity of wildlife. However, landscape context and tree size affected wildlife in contrasting ways. Land management strategies are needed to collectively account for responses exhibited by multiple taxa at varying spatial scales. We recommend that the retention and perpetuation of scattered trees in modified landscapes should be prioritized, hereby providing crucial habitat benefits to a multitude of taxa.  相似文献

Summary The feasibility of zinc supply to apples (Malus spp. var. Golden Delicious) by various Zn-bentonite preparations implanted in the trunk was studied. A preliminary experiment included four preparations and was conducted in one plantation in 1980. A larger scale experiment in 1981, tested Zn-bentonite (ZnB) and Zn-bentonite + ZnEDTA (ZnBEA) in four plantations in the south, center and north of Israel. Clay tablets were implanted in holes drilled in the tree trunk in April. The youngest, fully developed leaves on the new growth were sampled periodically and Zn content was determined.ZnB and ZnBEA implanted at the rate of 15 mg Zn/cm trunk circumference significantly increased Zn content above that of the control trees until mid-September. The ZnBEA preparation supported significantly higher leaf concentrations than the ZnB preparation. Peak concentrations in trees treated with the ZnBEA preparation were 75.8, 47.4, 38.4, and 23.7 ppm in the four plantations and occurred in May. The Zn concentration in the youngest leaves decreased during the season but there was evidence that in some cases Zn behaved as a phloem mobile element. Soil, climate and previous zinc treatments affected considerably the Zn concentration found in leaves in the four plantations making it impossible to identify a single critical concentration level. No damage to the trees was observed as a result of the drilling and implantation of the clay tablets. Clay analysis at the end of the season showed that about two-thirds of the Zn added to the trees was used. The amount of Zn supplied per tree in the implantation procedure was 80–90% lower than that supplied in the routine spraying operations.  相似文献

Smaller amounts of D–D (6–12 gal/acre) (68–135 1/ha) or ethylene dibromide (9 gal/acre) (100 1/ha) than are customarily used to disinfest field soils killed many root-parasitic nematodes (Trichodorus, Pratylenchus, Tylenchorhynchus and Longidorus attenuatus) when injected 6–8 in (15–20 cm) deep during early autumn in rows 10 in (25 cm) apart in well-drained sandy soils. They also increased the yield of sugar beet grown in fields infested with Trichodorus or Longidorus attenuatus, without affecting sugar percentage or juice purity of the roots, and in some places increased the yield of barley grown after the beet. D–D was much less effective when injected 8–12 in deep during late autumn or winter. Increasing nitrogen dressings to the seedbed from 1·5 to 3 cwt/acre (188 to 376 kg/ha) increased sugar beet yield in one field, decreased it in another and decreased juice purity in both. In two other experiments extra nitrogen did not affect sugar beet yield. Even smaller amounts of the nematicides ‘placed’ in the rows, before or after sowing sugar beet in them, killed many of the nematodes and also increased sugar yield. Phytotoxic nematicides can be placed in the rows during autumn, winter or spring but placement is simpler during spring, when the treated rows are indicated by the position of the marks of the tractor wheels left when the nematicide was applied. When applied during autumn or winter, the rows need to be indicated by drilling wheat or grass.  相似文献

Abandoned pollard beech forests are particular habitats that may require special conservation efforts to preserve the endangered beetle Rosalia alpina, a model species whose protection may perpetuate the habitat of many other saproxylic species. Forest use can determine the tree selection and population size of R. alpina, variables previously not researched in pollard forests. Selected tree traits and population size, indicated by presence of adult specimens and recent exit holes, were determined in a pollard beech forest before the implementation of habitat manipulations targeted to preserve the species. Multivariate analysis showed tree condition (living, snag, fallen) and clearing size and aspect as influential variables, with the former explaining more variance than the latter. R. alpina positively selected pollard snags and trees located in big and dry clearings, avoiding those in small clearings or shaded areas. Snags showed most adults (90 %) and recent emergence holes (84 %). Distance to the nearest occupied tree, trunk diameter, bark thickness and presence of sap leaks had no effect on the occurrence of R. alpina. Population size was estimated in 0.1 individuals day?1 ha?1, and 38 % of available habitat trees showed exit holes, values lower than those observed in other European countries. These results show the need to start re-pollardings in the forest to extend pollard standing life and enhance exposure to sunlight. Pinpointing pollard snags and clearing the surrounding vegetation are recommended as the first measures to be taken in order to favor R. alpina populations on pollard stands with closed canopies.  相似文献

The effects on Robinia pseudoacacia (an exotic and invasive plant in Japanese rivers) of local scouring and saturation of the soil in the root-anchoring zone due to flooding were investigated. Scouring has been defined as the removal of substrate in the root-anchoring zone, exposing the tree roots. Tree-pulling experiments were conducted, simulating flood action, and the resulting damage was examined in order to assess the effect of local scouring on the maximum resistive bending moment (M max) for overturning. Scouring was artificially created to three different depths, 0, 25, and 50 cm. A nonlinear model was developed that included soil strength characteristics to calculate the critical overturning moment (M cri) under dry and saturated soil conditions. Significant correlations (p < 0.05) of M max with different tree and root–soil plate characteristics, such as diameter at breast height (D bh), tree weight, root depth, and root–soil plate radius, were developed in order to elucidate the effects of scouring on M max. M max was slightly reduced with scouring depth for trees with D bh <10 cm (small) trunks, and it was significantly and negatively (p < 0.05) correlated with scouring depth for trees with 10 < D bh < 20 cm (medium) trunks. However, M max did not change significantly with scouring depth for trees with a D bh >20 cm (big) trunks. The nonlinear model was useful for determining the M cri of R. pseudoacacia under dry and saturated soil conditions. The overturning moments of all (small, medium, and big) trees were considerably reduced under the saturated soil condition. It could be concluded that medium-sized trees were greatly affected by scouring, and that small and big trees were mainly affected by saturation of the soil under severe flooding conditions.  相似文献
