宽索鳃金龟是为言猕猴挑的重要食叶害虫.该虫在福建建宁县一年发生一代,以成虫在土中越冬,翌年4月上旬开始出土为害,4月下旬至5月下旬为害盛期,成虫可整夜取食猕猴桃叶片和花器,成虫出土及人土的时间较为整齐.5月上旬雌虫开始在土中产卵,5月下旬开始孵化.幼虫3龄,在土中1-20cm处活动,以8-10cm处占绝大多数,幼虫取食土壤中腐植质和根皮,截根.9月上旬开始化蛹,10月中旬成虫开始羽化。但当年不出土,逗留在土中。并越冬.采用50%辛硫磷1000—2000倍液防治幼虫:80%敌敌畏乳油1000倍.帅%乐果800-1000倍、25%溴氰菊酯5000倍等药液毒杀成虫均有良好效果,亦可人工捕杀和灯光诱杀成虫.  相似文献

试验研究阿维菌素对椰心叶甲Brontispa longissima(Gestro)各虫态的毒力以及田间防治效果。结果表明阿维菌素对椰心叶甲毒力作用强,对卵、幼虫、蛹、成虫的LD50分别为8·119×10-6,4·152×10-6,9·458×10-6,7·609×10-6,8·434×10-6μg/头,LD90分别为1·044×10-4,5·545×10-5,6·663×10-5,1·466×10-4μg/头。1·8%超强阿维菌素乳油对椰心叶甲防治效果好,且持效期长。使用后半个月到1个月1000倍液、2000倍液对各虫态的防治效果接近100%。  相似文献

Abstract:  The orientation of the Colorado potato beetle, Leptinotarsa decemlineata , to a male-produced aggregation pheromone, ( S )-3,7-dimethyl-2-oxo-oct-6-ene-1,3-diol, a three-component plant attractant blend [comprised of ( Z )-3-hexenyl acetate + (±)-linalool + methyl salicylate], and other potato volatiles (nonanal and 2-phenylethanol) were tested. All compounds were previously shown to be active in coupled gas chromatography/electroantennogram experiments. Both the three-component plant attractant blend and 2-phenylethanol were attractive to adult beetles. While male beetles oriented preferentially to both plant attractants vs. a control, females showed little preference. Combining the plant attractants with the pheromone resulted in sexually dimorphic responses similar to those seen with either plant attractant alone. Addition of nonanal abolished the sexually dimorphic response to the pheromone + 2-phenylethanol blend; the new three-component blend was attractive to both sexes. In both laboratory bioassays and field experiments, a combination of the pheromone + the three-component plant attractant was preferred over the plant attractant alone. Thus, it seems likely that combinations of pheromone + plant volatiles may be the most efficacious for field use.  相似文献

The Colorado potato beetle (CPB), Leptinotarsa decemlineata is an important economic pest of potato worldwide. Resistance to organophosphates and carbamates in CPB has been associated in some cases to point mutations in the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) gene Ldace2, an orthologue of Drosophila melanogaster Dmace2. In this paper we report cloning and sequencing of Ldace1, an orthologue of Anopheles gambiae Agace1 that was previously unknown in CPB. The Ldace1 coding enzyme contains all residues conserved in a functionally active AChE. Ldace1 is expressed at higher levels (between 2- and 11-fold) than Ldace2 in embryos, in the four larval instars and in adults. Specific interference of Ldace1 by means of dsRNA injection resulted in a reduction of AChE activity to an approximate 50% compared to control, whilst interference of Ldace2 reduced AChE activity to an approximate 85%. Analysis of zymograms of AChE activity after interference indicates that LdAChE1 is the enzyme predominantly responsible for the activity visualised. Interference of Ldace1 in CPB adults caused a significant increase in mortality (43%) as early as three days post-injection (p.i.), suggesting the essential role of Ldace1. Interference of Ldace2 also caused a significant increase in mortality (29%) compared to control, although at seven days p.i. The effect of the interference of Ldace1 on susceptibility to the organophosphate chlorpyrifos points out that LdAChE1 could be a main target for this insecticide. In the light of our results, studies associating resistance in CPB to mutations in Ldace2 should be reviewed, taking into consideration analysis of the Ldace1 gene.  相似文献

1 Although mountain pine beetle Dendroctonus ponderosae Hopkins are able to utilize most available Pinus spp. as hosts, successful colonization and reproduction in other hosts within the Pinaceae is rare.
2 We observed successful reproduction of mountain pine beetle and emergence of new generation adults from interior hybrid spruce Picea engelmannii × glauca and compared a number of parameters related to colonization and reproductive success in spruce with nearby lodgepole pine Pinus contorta infested by mountain pine beetle.
3 The results obtained indicate that reduced competition in spruce allowed mountain pine beetle parents that survived the colonization process to produce more offspring per pair than in more heavily-infested nearby pine.
4 We also conducted an experiment in which 20 spruce and 20 lodgepole pines were baited with the aggregation pheromone of mountain pine beetle. Nineteen pines (95%) and eight spruce (40%) were attacked by mountain pine beetle, with eight (40%) and three (15%) mass-attacked, respectively.
5 Successful attacks on nonhost trees during extreme epidemics may be one mechanism by which host shifts and subsequent speciation events have occurred in Dendroctonus spp. bark beetles.  相似文献

Strawberry sap beetle, Stelidota geminata (Say) (Coleoptera: Nitidulidae), adults and larvae feed on and contaminate marketable strawberry (Fragaria L.) fruit. The beetle is a serious pest in the northeastern United States, with growers in multiple states reporting closing fields for picking prematurely due to fruit damage. Three options were evaluated for potential to reduce strawberry sap beetle populations. First, the influence of plant structure on accessibility of fruit in different strawberry cultivars to strawberry sap beetle was assessed by modifying plant structure and exposing caged plants to strawberry sap beetle adults. Severity of damage to berries staked up off the ground was similar to damage to those fruit contacting the soil, showing that adults will damage fruit held off the ground. Second, baited traps were placed at three distances into strawberry fields to determine whether overwintered beetles enter strawberry fields gradually. Adult beetles were first caught in the strawberries approximately equal to 19 d after occurring in traps placed along edges of adjacent wooded areas. The beetles arrived during the same sampling interval in traps at all distances into the fields, indicating that a border spray is unlikely to adequately control strawberry sap beetle. Third, the number of strawberry sap beetle emerging from strawberry for 5 wk after tilling and narrowing of plant rows was compared in plots renovated immediately at the end of harvest and in plots where renovation was delayed by 1 wk. In the 2-yr study, year and not treatment was the primary factor affecting the total number of emerging strawberry sap beetle. Overall, limited potential exists to reduce strawberry sap beetle populations by choosing cultivars with a particular plant structure, applying insecticide as a border spray, or modifying time of field renovation.  相似文献

Scarab beetles are agriculturally important worldwide, and as adults or larvae they may cause damage to the leaves, flowers, fruit, and roots of crops. Previous international studies showed that Japanese beetle (Popillia japonica, Newman) lures, and structurally related chemicals, can attract numerous scarabs. Based on those studies, season-long trials in grape, cabbage, corn and soybean fields were conducted in 2012–2013 in NE China. Tests determined the attractiveness of the Japanese beetle floral lure (phenethyl propionate:eugenol:geraniol, 3:7:3) and sex attractant (Japonilure), alone, combined, or in a mixture with either (Z)-3-hexen-1-ol, anethole = 1-methoxy-4-propenyl benzene or benzyl alcohol, to local Coleoptera. Furthermore, control efficacies based on leaf, ear, and silk damage, as well as reductions of adults on plants, and overwintering larvae, were also determined. Eleven scarab species, and four non-scarab species, were captured. The addition of other chemicals increased the attractiveness of the two Japanese beetle lures to scarabs such as Potosia brevitarsis (Lewis), Oxycetonia jecunda Faldermann, Holotrichia diomphalia Bates et al., Popillia quadriguttata (Fabricius), Maladera verticalis (Fairmaire), and Metabolus impressifrons Fairmaire, and the chrysomelid beetle Chrysomela populi L. The floral lure, and floral lure plus Japonilure baited traps resulted in > 80% overwintering larvae and adult reductions in corn and cabbage fields, whereas the Japonilure traps gave similar results in the soybean fields. This indicates that the commercial Japanese beetle lure combination can be recommended for use by the Chinese farmers in the corn or soybean fields, and that the related chemicals can be used to increase the attractiveness of the Japanese beetle lures.  相似文献

The sunflower beetle, Zygogramma exclamationis (F.), is the major defoliating pest of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.). Planting date was evaluated as a potential management tool in a variety of production regions throughout North Dakota from 1997 to 1999, for its impact on sunflower beetle population density of both adults and larvae, defoliation caused by both feeding stages, seed yield, oil content, and larval parasitism in cultivated sunflower. Results from this 3-yr study revealed that sunflower beetle adult and larval populations decreased as planting date was delayed. Delayed planting also reduced defoliation from adult and larval feeding, which is consistent with the lower numbers of the beetles present in the later seeded plots. Even a planting delay of only 1 wk was sufficient to significantly reduce feeding damage to the sunflower plant. Yield reduction caused by leaf destruction of the sunflower beetle adults and larvae was clearly evident in the first year of the study. The other component of sunflower yield, oil content, did not appear to be influenced by beetle feeding. The tachinid parasitoid, Myiopharus macellus (Rheinhard), appeared to be a significant mortality factor of sunflower beetle larvae at most locations regardless of the dates of planting, and was able to attack and parasitize the beetle at various larval densities. The results of this investigation showed the potential of delayed planting date as an effective integrated pest management tactic to reduce sunflower beetle adults, larvae, and their resulting defoliation. In addition, altering planting dates was compatible with biological control of the beetle, because delaying the planting date did not reduce the effectiveness of the parasitic fly, M. macellus, which attacks the sunflower beetle larvae.  相似文献

The small hive beetle, Aethina tumida Murray (Coleoptera: Nitidulidae), is a significant pest of managed honeybees in the USA and eastern Australia. The beetle damages hives by feeding on hive products and leaving behind fermented wastes. The beetle is consistently associated with the yeast Kodamaea ohmeri (Etchells & Bell) Yamada et al. (Saccharomycetales: Metschnikowiaceae), and this yeast is the presumed agent of the fermentation. Previous work has noted that the small hive beetle is attracted to volatiles from hive products and those of the yeast K. ohmeri. In this study, we investigated how the volatile compounds from the fermenting hive products change depending upon the source of the hive material and also how these volatiles change through time. We used gas chromatography–mass spectrometry and choice‐test behavioural assays to investigate these changes using products sampled from apiaries across the established range of the beetle in eastern Australia. The starting hive products significantly affected the volatile composition of fermenting hive products, and this composition varied throughout time. We found 61.7% dissimilarity between attractive and non‐attractive fermenting hive products, and identified individual compounds that characterise each of these groups. Eleven of these individual compounds were then assessed for attractiveness, as well as testing a synthetic blend in the laboratory. In the laboratory bioassay, 82.1 ± 0.02% of beetles were trapped in blend traps. These results have strong implications for the development of an out‐of‐hive attractant trap to assist in the management of this invasive pest.  相似文献

Hydrocarbons were the major lipid class on the cuticular surface of adults, nymphs, and eggs of the sunflower beetle, Zygogramma exclamationis, characterized by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Minor amounts of wax ester from 40 to 48 carbon atoms in size were only detected in larvae. The hydrocarbons ranged in size from 23 carbons (tricosene) to 56 carbons (trimethyltripentacontane) and were largely methylalkanes. The major components from females were 13,17,21-trimethylnonatriacontane (19%) and from larvae was n-nonacosane (17%). Males had 11,15- and 9,15-dimethylheptacosane (11%) and 13,17,21-trimethylnonatriacontane (11%) as the major components. In a sample of eggs, 13,17,21-nonatriacontane (16%) was the major component which was approximately 3 to 4-fold greater than the next most abundant hydrocarbons, dimethylheptacosanes, 2-methyloctacosane, methylnonacosanes, dimethyl- and trimethylheptatriacontanes and dimethylnonatriacontanes.  相似文献

2002年,利用寄主挥发性物质(+)-α-蒎烯、(-)-β-蒎烯、3-蒈烯和(-)柠檬烯按不同配比制成诱芯,采用自行研制的挥发物释放装置,在山西省关帝山森林经营局西葫芦林场对危害油松Pinus tabulaeformis Carr.的重大外来入侵林业害虫红脂大小蠹Dendroctomus valens LeConte进行了引诱试验。结果表明,3蒈烯对红脂大小蠹的引诱作用最强,明显优于单独使用(+)-α-蒎烯和(-)-β-蒎烯的诱虫效果,也比北美应用的标准诱芯[(+)- α蒎烯(-)-β-蒎烯与3-蒈烯的比例为1∶1∶1]效果好;在标准诱芯中加入油松另一主要成分-(-)柠檬烯会明显降低诱虫效果。红脂大小蠹引诱剂最佳释放量为150 mg/d。该研究不仅对我国红脂大小蠹的监控具有实际应用意义,也从理论上探讨了红脂大小蠹与寄主油松协同进化的化学生态学过程。  相似文献

Abstract 1 The attractiveness of potato plants treated with a synthetic host volatile blend [(Z)‐3‐hexenyl acetate (+/–)‐linalool, and methyl salicylate] to newly emerged and 5‐day‐old adult Colorado potato beetle, Leptinotarsa decemlineata (Say), was compared at four doses against untreated control plants and plants treated with an azadirachtin‐based antifeedant in greenhouse cage arenas. 2 Attractant‐treated plants (derived release rates of 0, 5.7, 17.1 or 57 µg/h) were significantly more attractive than untreated control plants to newly emerged and 5‐day‐old adults only at 57 µg/h. 3 Attractant‐treated plants were significantly more attractive than antifeedant‐treated plants to newly emerged and 5‐day‐old adults at the 5.7 µg/h treatment level and higher. Mean insect density on attractant‐treated plants in the attractant/antifeedant study was significantly higher than in the attractant/control study. 4 Habituation to the synthetic attractant was evaluated by exposing adult beetles to the synthetic attractant for 0, 1, 2.5, 4, 8, 12 or 16 h, before release into a wind tunnel in which an attractant‐baited plant model was placed at the upwind end. Insects exposed to the synthetic host attractant for ≤ 8 h moved to the synthetic attractant‐baited plant model whereas insects exposed to the synthetic host attractant for 12 and 16 h did not. Furthermore, beetles exposed to the synthetic attractant for 0 and 1 h moved at rates greater than, or equal to, the median whereas beetles exposed for longer time periods moved at rates significantly less than the median. 5 These results demonstrate the potential for using the synthetic plant attractant and an antifeedant as components in a stimulo‐deterrent strategy for management of the Colorado potato beetle as shown by us in another study.  相似文献

大猿叶虫Colaphellus bowringi是江西山区十字花科蔬菜上的重要食叶害虫,以成虫在土中越夏和越冬。由于成虫滞育期的差异,该虫的化性显示了明显的种内变异。有些个体隔年繁殖;有些个体是一化性的,仅在春季或秋季繁殖1代;有些个体是二化性的,春季和秋季各繁殖1代;有些个体是多化性的,春季1代,秋季2~3代。因此,大猿叶虫在田间一年可发生4代。在春季,滞育成虫于2月底至4月初陆续出土繁殖;在秋季,滞育成虫于8月中旬至10月初陆续出土繁殖。春季羽化的成虫于4月底至6月上旬陆续入土越夏,秋季羽化的成虫于9月中旬至12月底陆续入土越冬。大猿叶虫一生能交配多次,大多数雌虫的产卵期超过1个月,最长达67天。平均每雌产卵量:春季世代为644粒,秋季世代为963粒,最高达1.950粒。各虫态的发育历期:在15~30℃间,卵为13.78~3.14天,幼虫为22.83~6.95天,蛹为12.10~3.18天。发育阈值温度:卵为10.7℃,幼虫为8.8℃,蛹为9.6℃。非滞育成虫的寿命约为1~2个月,滞育成虫的寿命为5~38个月。滞育成虫均入土蛰伏,在土中的蛰伏深度为9~31 cm 。  相似文献

We studied several aspects of flight metabolism in cocoon-enclosed adults of the fruit beetle Pachnoda to investigate their flight capability. The majority of adults which were forcefully removed from their pupal cocoon flew off within 5 min of exposure to bright sunlight. Most of the beetles which did not fly voluntarily were, however, capable of flight. Compared with 2-4 week old adults of the same species, cocoon-enclosed adults have higher reserves of glycogen in flight muscles and fat body, whereas the level of total carbohydrates in the haemolymph and the concentration of proline in haemolymph, flight muscles and fat body were similar.Enzymes involved in carbohydrate breakdown (MDH, GAPDH) were more active in flight muscles and fat body of cocoon-enclosed adults compared with adults, while enzymes of proline metabolism in the flight muscles (AlaT, NAD-ME) and fat body (AlaT, NADP-ME) had similar activities in cocoon-enclosed adults and adults. An enzyme of the beta-oxidation of fatty acids (HOAD) had similar activities in flight muscles and fat body of cocoon-enclosed adults and adults.Mitochondria isolated from flight muscles of adults removed prematurely from their cocoon favour the oxidation of proline and pyruvate. Pyruvate, however, is oxidized at higher rates than by mitochondria isolated from flight muscles of adults.During a short lift-generating flight, cocoon-enclosed adults proved that their flight muscles are capable of strong flight performance. During these flights, cocoon-enclosed adults consume proline and carbohydrates at a similar rate to that of adults.The endogenous AKH peptide, Mem-CC, has hyperprolinaemic and hypertrehalosaemic activity in cocoon-enclosed adults. The hypertrehalosaemic effect, however, is stronger in cocoon-enclosed adults than in adults.The content of Mem-CC in corpora cardiaca of larvae (3rd instar), cocoon-enclosed adults and 1 day-old adults is similar at 5-6 pmol per pair of corpora cardiaca, whereas it is higher in 10 day-old adults and 20 day-old adults (37 and 15 pmol per pair corpora cardiaca, respectively).From these results we conclude that cocoon-enclosed adults comply with all the prerequisites for flight performance before they leave their pupal cocoon. Furthermore, cocoon-enclosed adults have a more pronounced carbohydrate-based metabolism before they leave their cocoon compared with adults, which suggests that carbohydrate breakdown is mainly involved in such activities as leaving the cocoon and burrowing activity thereafter.  相似文献

Control of larvae and adults of cereal leaf beetle, Oulema melanopus (L.), by bale compression and hydrogen phosphide fumigation was studied in rye straw, Secale cereale L., in Aurora, OR. Natural mortality of larvae after transport was 4.0 +/- 1.0% (mean +/- SEM). Compression (105 kg/cm2) of larvae in standard bales (122 cm long) of rye straw resulted in 100% mortality. Compression of adults in standard bales plus storage of the compressed bales (56 cm long) for 1 d in a freight container resulted in 100% mortality. A KD50 of 102 ppm hydrogen phosphide for 1 h was estimated from the probit regression line developed from dose-response data at 21 degrees C in basic laboratory tests. The LD50s and LD99s were 163 and 6,910 ppm for 2-h exposures and were 18 and 42 ppm for 6-h exposures at 21 degrees C, respectively. A tested close of 400 ppm for 24 h at 21 degrees C resulted in 100% mortality of the adults. Larvae (n = 10,560) and adults (n = 18,602) did not survive exposure to bale compression followed by hydrogen phosphide fumigation (60 g/28.3 m3) for 3 d in rye straw loaded in freight containers in large-scale tests. Copper plate corrosion values indicating the severity of exposure to hydrogen phosphide were 13 and 12, and mean temperatures of five locations in the freight container were 25 and 26 degrees C in large-scale tests with the larvae and adults, respectively. Hydrogen phosphide concentrations were > or = 400 ppm throughout the 3-d fumigation for larvae and during the first day of fumigation for adults. We propose that cereal leaf beetle can be controlled by a single treatment of bale compression followed by a 1-d storage period or by a fumigation in which 400 ppm hydrogen phosphide is maintained for 1 d at 21 degrees C or above. We confirmed that a multiple quarantine treatment of bale compression) followed by a 3-d fumigation will control cereal leafbeetle in exported rye straw.  相似文献

1. We clarified the effects of early leaf abscission on the survivorship of the leaf‐mining beetle Trachys yanoi Y. Kurosawa (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) and the underlying mechanism in relation to weather conditions in Japan. Trachys yanoi is an insect pest of zelkova trees [Zelkova serrata (Thunb.) Makino (Rosales: Ulmaceae)]. Larvae burrow into zelkova leaves and feed on leaf tissue, causing early leaf abscission. 2. This study investigated the relationship between the beetle population and weather conditions over 10 years in a zelkova forest. The effects of moisture and temperature on adult emergence from early abscised leaves were examined in the laboratory and in the field. 3. The beetle population in the studied forest was negatively affected by high precipitation levels when the beetles still inhabited early abscised leaves. Fewer adults emerged from early abscised leaves under wet conditions than under dry conditions, in both laboratory and field tests. 4. These results demonstrate that early leaf abscission plays an important role in leaf‐mining beetle survivorship and population dynamics, and that the amount of precipitation when leaf‐mining beetles still inhabit early abscised leaves modulates this effect. 5. Because precipitation when leaf‐mining beetles still inhabit early abscised leaves was mainly driven by an East Asian rainy season front, the beetle population dynamics were affected by the activity of the front.  相似文献

Abstract. 1. We report on the mating status of overwintering adults of the imported leaf beetle, Plagiodera versicolora Laicharting. This species overwinters as adults, under the bark of willow trees.
2. Individuals were collected both in the autumn, just after initiation of diapause, and in the spring, just before natural termination of diapause. From the autumn sample, we discovered that diapause can be terminated by husbanding the adults at 4°C for 4 weeks.
3. Most females lay fertile eggs upon the termination of diapause; however, a significant number of females lay non-fertile eggs after overwintering in the field.
4. Many females mate with more than one male before entering diapause. Progeny analysis using allozyme genetic markers shows that, on average, females who are fertile upon termination of diapause utilize sperm from 1.2 males to fertilize their eggs.  相似文献

A recently synthesized kairomone blend, based on the volatiles produced by potato (Solanum spp.) plants, has been demonstrated to be attractive to both adult and larval stages of the Colorado potato beetle, Leptinotarsa decemlineata (Say) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae). It was subsequently formulated in a viscous inert carrier for field applications and showed potential for aggregating beetles in treated areas of the field. We investigated effects of this kairomone formulation on the potato aphid, Macrosiphum euphorbiae (Thomas) (Homoptera: Aphididae). The response of both winged and wingless adults to natural potato foliage and synthetic kairomone was tested in a Y-tube olfactometer. Aphid response to untreated potato foliage, foliage treated with the kairomone blend, and foliage treated with blank inert carrier also was tested in petri dishes. In addition, aphid densities on field plots treated with kairomone and blank inert carrier were compared with the control plots. The untreated potato foliage was found to be attractive to wingless, but not winged, potato aphids. In the olfactometer, the foliage treated with synthetic Colorado potato beetle kairomone was not attractive to either winged or wingless aphids. In petri dishes, aphids avoided leaflets treated with both kairomone formulation and its blank carrier. There was no statistical difference between any treatments compared in the field.  相似文献

The susceptibility status of Colorado potato beetle, Leptinotarsa decemlineata (Say), adults to phosalone was determined by dip and glass jar assay techniques. Bioassay results indicated a narrow variation in Colorado potato beetle insecticide susceptibility among sample sites. LC50 values were generally highest from specimens collected in field that received frequent phosalone applications for seven consecutive growing seasons. In five populations tested, LC50 values ranged from 503.72 to 827.95 ppm in dip test method. In glass jar technique, resistance ratio value of 1.72 for LC50 was obtained. A significant linear relationship between LC50 values of individual populations across test methods was detected. Both bioassay techniques were suitable for monitoring resistance to insecticide in Colorado potato beetle adult populations. Glass jar technique, however, exhibited less variability in LC50 estimates and showed a higher degree of sensitivity than the dip method. Filter paper and leaf disk techniques for larvae were two bioassay methods used to determine phosalone susceptibility in L. decemlineata populations. Both bioassay techniques exhibited a similar level of susceptibility of the larvae to phosalone; however, the fiducial limit values from filter paper method were narrow than the leaf disk assay technique. A significant direct relationship between LC50 values of individual population across test methods was observed. Differences in LC50 ranking among fields between adults and larvae indicated a differential susceptibility to insecticide between life stages. Low LC50 values obtained from Colorado potato beetle in sample sites indicated that phosalone resistance was not severe in these fields. The glass jar and filter paper testing methods are simple and sensitive test techniques for measuring susceptibility of Colorado potato beetle adults and larvae to phosalone, respectively.  相似文献
