The aim of the study was to assess salivary fluoride concentrations and ingestion of fluorides after five different techniques of topical fluoride treatment. Ten volunteers received applications of fluoride gel, toothpaste, and foam. Fluoride concentrations were determined using ion-selective fluoride electrode in the samples of unstimulated saliva before and after procedures. The amounts of fluoride applied, recovered from the mouth, and retained in the mouth were calculated for each treatment. It was proved that fluoride ingestion following tray application of fluoride foam was significantly lower than ingestion following tray applications of fluoride gel (p < 0.01). The use of limited amounts of fluorides on a tray resulted in similar fluoride retention and lower ingestion comparing to the method which involves a large portion of fluorides followed by rinsing. Tooth brushing resulted in high salivary retention rates per amount of fluorides used in the procedure. These data provide initial concept about the possible advantages of some methods of topical fluoride application over others.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the urine iodine concentration in women with severe preeclampsia and in healthy women in Erzurum, Turkey. Urine specimens were obtained from 40 severe preeclampsia and 18 healthy pregnant women. Urinary iodine levels were determined by the Foss method based on the Sandell–Kolthoff reaction. The urinary iodine level for women with severe preeclampsia was 4.25 ± 2.7 μg/dL, lower than 20.89 ± 6.4 μg/dL of urinary iodine for healthy pregnant women (p < 0.001). Blood magnesium concentration was found to be 1.63 ± 0.05 mg/dL for women with severe preeclampsia, which is lower than that of healthy pregnant women (1.87 ± 0.05 mg/dL; p < 0.001). There was a positive correlation between urinary iodine level and blood magnesium level in pregnant women with preeclampsia (Pearson correlation coefficient = 0.43; p < 0.01). However, there was no correlation between urinary iodine level and blood magnesium level in healthy pregnant women. There was no difference in thyroid hormone levels (T4, TSH, FT4) between women with severe preeclampsia and healthy pregnant women. However, there was a difference in T3 thyroid hormone levels between women with severe preeclampsia (1.86 ± 0.4 μg/dL) and healthy pregnant women (1.45 ± 0.3 μg/dL; p < 0.001). There was also a difference in FT3 between women with severe preeclampsia (2.77 ± 0.4 pg/mL) and healthy pregnant women (2.41 ± 0.5 μg/dL; p < 0.01). Urinary iodine excretion is currently the most convenient laboratory marker of iodine deficiency. The method is useful for the rapid and low-cost assessment of iodine deficiency. Our results suggested that urinary iodine concentration might be a useful marker for prediagnosing preeclamptic women. In addition, iodine supplementation may also be considered for preeclamptic therapy.  相似文献

As fluoride has a very short half-life in the body and the major route for fluoride excretion is via the kidney, human exposure is best measured in urine, where the concentration is expected to be highest. The urinary fluoride concentrations of 167 healthy Japanese adults were determined by means of a fluoride ion selective electrode. When the results were corrected for a specific gravity ρ = 1.024 g cm−3, the histogram of urinary fluoride concentrations highly skewed toward low values with sharp peakedness (skewness = 1.56, kurtosis = 3.08). The normality of the log-transformed histogram (skewness = 0.12, kurtosis = 0.07) and the straight line on log-probability paper clearly showed a key feature of lognormal distribution of urinary fluoride. A geometric mean (GM) of 613.8 μg/l and 95% confidential interval (CI) of 241.0–1633.1 μg/l were established as reference values for urinary fluoride. The results presented in this study will be useful as guidelines for the biological monitoring of fluoride in normal subjects and individuals at risk of occupational or environmental fluoride exposure.  相似文献

It is of burgeoning importance that the human body burden of aluminium is understood and is measured. There are surprisingly few data to describe human excretion of systemic aluminium and almost no reliable data which relate to aluminium in sweat. We have measured the aluminium content of sweat in 20 healthy volunteers following mild exercise. The concentration of aluminium ranged from 329 to 5329 μg/L. These data equate to a daily excretion of between 234 and 7192 μg aluminium and they strongly suggest that perspiration is the major route of excretion of systemic aluminium in humans.  相似文献

This study investigated the effects of 17α‐methyltestosterone (17α‐MT) on the physiological properties of gynogenetic topmouth culter (Culter alburnus). Five 17α‐MT concentration (0, 10, 25, 40, and 60 μg/g) groups were set up in Experiment 1, and three treatment and recovery methods of the above five concentrations were studied in Experiment 2. In Experiment 3, fish were fed with increasing concentrations of 17α‐MT (from 40 μg/g to 140 μg/g) in an outdoor pond. In Experiment 1, growth was promoted during the initial 60 days in the 10 μg/g group, whereas inhibition was first observed at 20 days after treatment in the 60 μg/g group. Increased concentration (40–60 μg/g) of 17α‐MT significantly inhibited the expression of FOXL2 and CYP19a gene but significantly activated the expression of AMH and DMRT1 gene. The levels of superoxide dismutase, estradiol, testosterone, growth hormone, and tetraiodothyronine in the 40 and 60 μg/g groups were significantly higher than those in the other concentration groups at 40 days after treatment. In Experiment 2, almost all indexes detected besides the expression of reproduction‐related genes in the 17α‐MT treatment groups were recovered to those in the control groups. All gonads observed in Experiments 1 and 2 remained in a primordial state after treatment with different concentrations of 17α‐MT. In Experiment 3, 100% of the detected gonads developed into testes at 126 and 460 days post‐fertilization after three‐month outdoor 17α‐MT induction. These results suggest that 17α‐MT affects the physiological processes related to sexual differentiation in topmouth culter and that feeding 17α‐MT with increasing dose in an outdoor pond provides an effective protocol for producing neo‐male topmouth culter.  相似文献

The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the effect of acute (abrupt restriction of muscular activity) and rigorous bed-rest conditions on urinary and plasma calcium changes in endurance trained volunteers. The studies were performed on 30 long distance runners ages 23–25 who had a peak oxygen uptake of 66.0 mL/min/kg and had run 14.0 km/d on the average prior to their participation in the study. The volunteers were divided into three groups: The volunteers in the first group were under normal ambulatory conditions (control subjects), the second group was subjected to an acute bed-rest regime (acute bedrested subjects), and the third group was submitted to a rigorous bed-rest regime (rigorous bedrested subjects). The second and third groups of volunteers were kept under a rigorous bed rest regime for 7 d. During the pre-bed-rest period and during the actual bed-rest periods (acute and rigorous bed-rest periods), urinary excretion of calcium and plasma calcium and parathyroid hormone (PTH) concentrations were determined. During the 1st d of acute and rigorous bed-rest periods, urinary excretion and plasma concentration of calcium increased significantly (P≤0.05), while plasma parathyroid hormone content decreased significantly (P≤0.05). On the 3rd d of the experimental period, urinary excretion and plasma calcium concentration decreased somewhat, during the 7th d, calcium in urine and plasma increased further, while parathyroid hormone content in plasma increased somewhat on the 3rd d and decreased again on the 7th d of the experimental period. The changes were more pronounced in the volunteers who were subjected to acute bed-rest conditions than in the volunteers who were submitted to rigorous bed-rest conditions. It was concluded that exposure to acute bed-rest conditions induces significantly greater urinary and serum calcium changes than rigorous bed-rest conditions in endurance trained volunteers.  相似文献

It is known that some plant essential oils have pesticide activities. Among the 29 oils evaluated in this study, 14 showed nematicidal activities of 8 to 100% at the concentration of 1,000 μg/ml, compared with a control of 0.01 g/ml Tween 80®. At a lower concentration of 500 μg/ml, only Dysphania ambrosioides oil caused >90% mortality of second‐stage juveniles (J2) of Meloidogyne incognita. The LC50 and LC95 values for D. ambrosioides oil were 307 μg/ml and 580 μg/ml, respectively. M. incognita eggs placed in D. ambrosioides oil solutions had a significant reduction in J2 hatching compared with controls. Therefore, the oil had a toxic effect on both eggs and J2 of M. incognita. This was in contrast to nematicides on the market that act efficiently only on J2. When J2 were placed in D. ambrosioides oil at its LC50 concentration and inoculated onto tomato plants, the reduction in numbers of galls and eggs was 99.5% and 100%, respectively. Dysphania ambrosioides oil applied to the potting substrate of plants at a concentration of 1,100 μg/ml significantly reduced the number of galls and eggs of M. incognita, whereas a concentration of 800 μg/ml only reduced the number of eggs compared with the controls (Tween 80® and water). The main components of the D. ambrosioides oil detected by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry were (Z)‐ascaridole (87.28%), E‐ascaridole (8.45%) and p‐cymene (3.35%), representing 99.08% of the total oil composition. Given its nematicidal activity, D. ambrosioides oil represents an exciting raw material in the search for new bioactive molecules for the pesticide industry.  相似文献

The radioprotective effect of hawthorn (Crataegus microphylla) fruit extract was investigated in cultured blood lymphocytes from human volunteers. Peripheral blood samples were collected from five human volunteers 10 min before and 1, 2 and 3 h after a single oral ingestion of 500 mg hawthorn powder extract. At each time point, the whole blood was exposed in vitro to 150 cGy of cobalt-60 gamma irradiation, and then the lymphocytes were cultured with mitogenic stimulation to determine the micronuclei in cytokinesis-blocked binucleated cell. The lymphocytes in the blood samples collected after extract ingestion exhibited a significant decrease in the incidence of binucleated cells containing micronuclei as compared to similarly irradiated lymphocytes collected prior to extract ingestion. The maximum decrease in the frequency of micronuclei-containing cells was observed at 1 h after ingestion of Hawthorn extract (on average a 44% decrease). These data suggest that it may be possible to use Hawthorn extracts in personnel exposed to radiation in order to protect lymphocytes from radiation effects.  相似文献

The objective of the study was to investigate the antimicrobial effects of deglycyrrhizinated licorice root extracts (DG-LRE) against Streptococcus mutans UA159 in both the planktonic and biofilm phases by determining the minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration, and by performing time-kill kinetic, growth, adhesion, and biofilm assays. The cell toxicity of DG-LRE on normal human gingival fibroblast (NHGF) cells was tested using a methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium assay. This study showed that DG-LRE had strong antimicrobial activity against S. mutans in the planktonic phase with little cytotoxic effect on NHGF cells. In addition, DG-LRE significantly inhibited biofilm formation by S. mutans UA159 at concentrations over 4 μg/ml for glucose or 16 μg/ml for sucrose, respectively, regardless of the presence of saliva-coating. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report to provide evidence that DG-LRE demonstrates antimicrobial activity against S. mutans. These results suggest that DG-LRE can be used in developing oral hygiene products, such as gargling solution and dentifrice to prevent human dental caries.  相似文献

Fractional intestinal absorption (f 1 value) and urinary excretion of strontium in healthy human volunteers has been measured by simultaneous oral and intravenous administration of the stable isotopes 86Sr and 84Sr using the double-isotope method. Final evaluation of the complete data set confirmed that ingestion of different foodstuff and nutritional factors could influence the fractional gut uptake of strontium. In some cases, significant deviations from the f 1 value adopted by the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) were found. The arithmetic mean (± standard deviation) of the f 1 values of all experiments performed was determined to be 0.46 (± 0.24). The probability distribution function of the f 1 values is represented by a lognormal curve with a geometric mean of 0.38 and a geometric standard deviation of 2.06. Urinary excretion in all subjects varied depending on the administered foodstuff in a wide range and differs from the ICRP model, up to 2 days after tracer administration. No age or gender dependence of the absorbed strontium fraction and of the urinary excretion of strontium after an oral load was found.  相似文献

The insulinotropic response to the ingestion of whey protein and whey protein hydrolysate, independent of carbohydrate, is not known. This study examined the effect of protein hydrolysis on the insulinotropic response to the ingestion of whey protein. Sixteen healthy males ingested a 500 mL solution containing either 45 g of whey protein (WPI) or whey protein hydrolysate (WPH). The estimated rate of gastric empting was not altered by hydrolysis of the protein [18 (3) vs. 23 (3) min, n = 16; P = 0.15]. Maximum plasma insulin concentration (C max) occurred later (40 vs. 60 min) and was 28% [234 (26) vs. 299 (31) mM, P = 0.018] greater following ingestion of the WPH compared to the WPI leading to a 43% increase [7.6 (0.9) vs. 10.8 (2.6) nM, P = 0.21] in the AUC of insulin for the WPH. Of the amino acids with known insulinotropic properties only Phe demonstrated a significantly greater maximal concentration [C max; 65 (2) vs. 72 (3) μM, n = 16; P = 0.01] and increase (+22%) in AUC following ingestion of the WPH. In conclusion, ingestion of whey protein is an effective insulin secretagogue. Hydrolysis of whey protein prior to ingestion augments the maximal insulin concentration by a mechanism that is unrelated to gastric emptying of the peptide solution.  相似文献

Oxidative stress a major cause of fluoride induced toxicity and mitochondrial impairment in common in experimental rats during chronic exposure of fluoride. Attempts have been made in the present experiment to diminish oxidative damage, combined therapy with (+)-catechin hydrate (an antioxidant) and sodium meta borate (chelator) were used. Fluoride intoxication in rats was performed by using 13 mg/kg NaF and both antioxidant CH and chelator SMB were used at a concentration of 8.98 μM/kg body weight. Mixture of CH and SMB in free or in PLGA nanocapsule encapsulated form were prepared. The efficacies of those formulations were tested in combating free radical mediated oxidative insult produced by sodium fluoride (NaF). The amalgamated therapy used in this experiment was shown to reduce fluoride levels in liver, brain and kidney from 9.5, 5.5, 6.3 μg/g to 4.6, 2, 2.6 μg/g, respectively. Our result indicated that the combined chelator and antioxidant therapy in nanocapsulated drug delivery system could provide a projection in combating fluoride induced mitochondrial impairment in rat model.  相似文献

We evaluated the antimicrobial activity of 25 monoketone curcuminoids (MKCs) against a representative panel of cariogenic bacteria in terms of their minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values. Curcumin A ( 10 ) displayed promising activity against Streptococcus mutans (MIC = 50 μg/ml) and Streptococcus mitis (MIC = 50 μg/ml) as well as moderate activity against Ssanguinis (MIC = 100 μg/ml), Lactobacillus casei (MIC = 100 μg/ml), and Streptococcus salivarius (MIC = 200 μg/ml). Results indicated higher activity of compound 10 than that of its bis‐β‐diketone analog. Additionally, compounds 3a (1,5‐bis(4‐methylphenyl)pentan‐3‐one) and 7b (1,5‐bis(4‐bromophenyl)pentan‐3‐ol) were moderately active against Smitis (MIC = 100 μg/ml) and Ssalivarus (MIC = 200 μg/ml).  相似文献

Quantitative analysis of the trace element content of human intervertebral discs (IVDs) is essential because it can identify specific enzymes or metabolites that may be related to human intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD). The goal of this study was to assess the concentrations of copper (Cu), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), sodium (Na), magnesium (Mg), potassium (K), phosphorus (P), and calcium (Ca) in serum samples obtained from patients with IVDD in comparison to healthy volunteers (a control group). The study group consisted of 113 Caucasian patients qualified by a specialist neurosurgeon for microdiscectomy. The control group consisted of 113 healthy volunteers who met the eligibility criteria for blood donors. The examined clinical material was the serum samples obtained from both groups.Based on the quantitative analysis of selected elements, there were statistically significantly (p 0.05) higher concentrations of Cu (1180 μg/L±800 μg/L vs. 1230 μg/L±750 μg/L), Zn (790 μg/L±300 μg/L vs. 850 μg/L±200 μg/L), and Mg (21730 μg/L±4360 μg/L vs. 23820 μg/L±4990 μg/L) in the serum of healthy volunteers compared to those in the study group. In addition, statistically significant changes were not detected in the concentrations of any elements among either sex in either the study or control group or in their body mass index (BMI) values (p > 0.05). In the serum samples from the study group, the strongest relationships were noted between the concentrations of Zn and Pb (r = 0.61), Zn and P (r = 0.69), Zn and Ca (r = 0.84), Zn and Cu (r = 0.83), Mg and Ca (r = 0.74), and Ca and P (r = 0.98).It has been indicated that, above all, the concentrations of Cu, Zn, Ca, and Mg depend on the advancement of radiological changes, according to the Pfirrmann scale. However, no influence on pain intensity was found, depending on the concentration of the assessed elements.The analysis indicates that the determination of serum Cu, Zn, Ca, and Mg concentrations may have diagnostic significance in predicting the onset of lumbosacral IVDD. The predictive evaluation of changes in the concentrations of selected elements in patients with degenerative lumbar IVD lesions appears to be a promising, cost-effective strategy.  相似文献

In a variety of animal models, uroguanylin causes diuresis, natriuresis and kaliuresis and is found in larger concentrations in the urine compared to controls after oral salt intake or in conditions of excess salt and fluid retention. It has been proposed that uroguanylin functions as an intestinal natriuretic hormone following intake of meals high in salt content. In the present work, we examined if 10 days of salt ingestion resulted in an enhanced response to uroguanylin in the isolated perfused rat kidney. Rats were given normal water, 1% NaCl (HS1%), or 2% NaCl (HS2%) for 10 days, at which time the right kidneys were surgically removed and perfused with a modified Krebs-Henseleit solution for 30 min. After a 30-min control period, the kidneys were perfused with a modified Krebs-Henseleit solution containing 0.06 μM uroguanylin for an additional 90 min. Compared to vehicle-matched time controls, 0.06 μM uroguanylin perfusion of kidneys from rats maintained on HS2% resulted in a significantly increased urine flow (UF; from 0.17 ± 0.01 to 0.23 ± 0.01, after 60 min, n = 6, P < 0.05), fractional Na+ excretion (%ENa+; from 16.6 ± 0.7 to 30 ± 2, after 60 min, n = 6, P < 0.05), fractional K+ excretion (%EK+; from 20.5 ± 0.58 to 37.4 ± 2.1, after 60 min, n = 6, P < 0.05), and fractional Cl excretion increased from 18.16 ± 0.52 to 35.2 ± 2.0 at 60 min, n = 6, P < 0.05. With the exception of a significant increase in the %EK+, no other effect was observed in the kidneys from the rats maintained on HS1%, and no significant effects were seen in those that were maintained on normal water. The effect of a higher dose (0.6 µM) of uroguanylin on urinary flow, sodium or potassium excretion was also significantly increased by 2% NaCl (HS2%) treatment (P < 0.05). We also observed an expressive upregulation of the GC-C and a slight downregulation of the GC-A receptor in high-salt treated rats. These data demonstrate that prolonged salt ingestion primes the kidney to enhanced renal responses to uroguanylin.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

We investigated the association between the period of exposure and changes in urinary excretion of chromium and nickel among rotating shift workers in a stainless-steel plant. The study participants were composed of two groups: the workers who were occupationally exposed to metals (“exposed group”) and those who were not occupationally exposed to metals (“unexposed group”). The exposed and unexposed groups consisted of 56 and 40 male rotating shift workers, respectively. Urine samples were collected immediately before and immediately after the day shift, evening shift, and night shift. Urinary chromium and nickel were measured using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. To correct for variations in urine dilution, urinary metal concentrations were expressed as a ratio to urinary creatinine concentration. In the exposed group, post-shift urinary excretion of chromium was significantly higher than pre-shift excretion. However, although urinary chromium excretion clearly increased after the day and night shift [63% (p < .0001) and 87% (p < .0001), respectively], urinary chromium excretion after the evening shift was only slightly higher than that measured before the evening shift (8%, p = .028). Similar patterns were found for urinary nickel excretion (p = .0001, 0.20, and 0.18 for the day, evening, and night shifts, respectively). Non-uniform urinary excretion of metals between the day shift, evening shift, and night shift were observed in the exposed group; specifically, urinary metal excretion increased only slightly during the evening shift. In the unexposed group, no significant increase or decrease was found in median urinary chromium or nickel excretion (p= .63–0.87). Work shift-specific permissible exposure level would be necessary.  相似文献

Selenium metabolic patterns in the human body originating from five distinct selenium dietary sources, selenate, selenite, selenomethionine (SeMet), methylselenocysteine (MeSeCys) and selenized yeast, were investigated by performing concurrent HPLC–mass spectrometric analysis of human serum and urine. Total selenium and selenium species time profiles were generated by sampling and analyzing serum and urine from volunteers treated with selenium supplements, up to 5 and 24 h following ingestion, respectively. We found that an increase in total serum selenium levels, accompanied by elevated selenium urinary excretion, was the common pattern for all treatments, except for that of selenite supplementation. Selenosugar 1 was a universal serum metabolite in all treatments, indicating that ingested selenium is favorably metabolized to the sugar. Except for selenite and selenized yeast ingestion, these patterns were reflected in the urine time series of the different treatments. Selenosugar 1 was the major selenium species present in urine in all treatments except for the selenate treatment, accounting for about 80% of the identified excreted species within 24 h of ingestion. Furthermore, the urinary metabolite trimethylselenonium ion (TMSe) was detected for the first time in human background serum by using HPLC coupled to elemental and molecular mass spectrometry. The concurrent monitoring of non-protein selenium species in both body fluids provides the relation between bioavailability and excretion of the individual ingested species and of their metabolic products, while the combined use of elemental and molecular mass spectrometry enables the accurate quantitation of structurally confirmed species. This successfully applied approach is anticipated to be a useful tool for more extensive future studies into human selenium metabolism.  相似文献

Objectives: To determine the effect of water fluoride concentration on the fluoride profile across the entire thickness of the cementum and root dentine of human permanent anterior teeth in adults. Subjects: Twenty-eight human permanent anterior teeth from individuals aged from 30 to over 60 years were studied. Setting: Teeth were obtained from a natural high-fluoride area (West Hartlepool, UK; 1.0–1.3 ppm F in drinking water, WHP) and the other from a non-fluoridated naturally low fluoride area (Leeds, UK; 0.1 ppm F in drinking water, LDS). Design: Cementum and root dentine were sampled using an abrasive micro-sampling technique from the cementum surface to the pulpal surface of root dentine. Results: Fluoride concentration was higher in tooth roots (the cementum and dentine) taken from the naturally fluoridated area (WHP) than from the non-fluoridated area (LDS). Age and average fluoride concentration showed a positive correlation in WHP dentine, middle region of the root (r = 0.78, P < 0.001) and in the apical region of the root (r = 0.67, P < 0.05). WHP cementum had the strongest fluoride concentration correlation with age in the cervical region of the root (r = 0.67, P < 0.01). An analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that the area (water fluoride content), age and number of years lived in the area combined with total age were significant. Conclusions : The fluoride content of cementum and root dentine in adult residents is related to fluoride content in drinking water.  相似文献

A complete randomised block design experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of benzoic acid inclusion level on nitrogen (N) metabolism, and manure ammonia (NH3) and odour emissions in finishing pigs. Sixteen boars (64 kg live weight ± 1.5 kg) were assigned to one of four dietary treatments (T) varying in benzoic acid concentration: (T1) 0 g benzoic acid/kg (as fed); (T2) 10 g benzoic acid/kg; (T3) 20 g benzoic acid/kg; (T4) 30 g benzoic acid/kg. Animals were housed in individual metabolism crates and feed was provided ad libitum. All diets were formulated to have similar concentration of digestible energy and ileal digestible lysine with benzoic acid replacing wheat in the diet. There was a linear decrease in NH3 emission (P<0.001), as the dietary benzoic acid concentration increased (141.4 mg/g versus 40.5 mg/g N intake (S.E.M. 12.1) over the 240-h storage period). However, there was no effect (P>0.05) of benzoic acid on odour concentration. Urinary nitrogen (N) excretion, total N excretion and the urinary:faecal N ratio were linearly reduced (P<0.05) with increasing benzoic acid inclusion. Furthermore, N retention increased linearly (P<0.05) as benzoic acid concentration increased from 0 g/kg to 30 g/kg in the diet. In conclusion, the inclusion of benzoic acid in the diet of finishing pigs has the potential to reduce total and urinary N excretion and the urinary to faecal N ratio. Fluoride compounds are abundant and widely distributed in the environment at a variety of concentrations. Further, fluoride induces toxic effects in target organs such as the liver and kidney. In this study, we performed an early analysis of renal function using a clearance technique in Wistar rats acutely exposed to fluoride at a plasma concentration of 0.625 μg/ml. Our results revealed that fluoride, at a concentration close to the concentration present in the serum after environmental exposure, induced a significant tubular dysfunction, resulting in diluted urine, impaired protein reabsorption, and increased calcium and phosphate urinary excretion. Our work demonstrates that even acute exposures to low concentrations of NaF may induce renal damage and confirms that, after exposure, the kidney participates directly in the calcium and phosphate deficiencies observed in fluoride-exposed populations.  相似文献
