Two new heterobimetallic complexes of rhenium(I) and ruthenium(II) [(CO)3(NN)Re(4,4′-bpy)Ru(NN)2Cl](PF6)2 and already known monometallic complexes [Cl(NN)2Ru(4,4′-bpy)](PF6) and [(CO)3(NN)Re(4,4′-bpy)](PF6) and bimetallic complexes [Cl(NN)2Ru(4,4′-bpy)Ru(NN)2Cl](PF6)2, [(CO)3(NN)Re(4,4′-bpy)Re(NN)(CO)3](PF6)2 (NN = 2,2′-bipyridine, 1,10-phenanthroline; 4,4′-bpy = 4,4′-bipyridine) are synthesized and characterized by spectral techniques. The photophysical properties of all the complexes are studied. It is found that attachment of rhenium(I) altered the photophysical characteristics of ruthenium(II). Excited state energy transfer from the rhenium(I) chromophore to the ruthenium(II) is observed upon excitation at 355 nm.  相似文献

The synthesis, electrochemistry, spectroscopy and electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) of five bis-bipyridine ruthenium(II) complexes containing acetylacetonate complexes are reported. More specifically, (bpy)2Ru(BA)2(PF6) (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine; BA = benzoylacetonate), (bpy)2Ru(TTFA)(PF6) (TTFA =  thenoyltrifluoroacetonate), (bpy)2Ru(TFPB)(PF6) (TFPB = 4,4,4-trifluoro-1-phenyl-1,3-butanedionate), (bpy)2Ru(TFPD)(PF6) (TFPD =  1,1,1-trifluoro-2-4-pentanedionate), and (bpy)2Ru(DBM)(PF6) (DBM = dibenzoylmethide) display UV-Vis, photoluminescence, electrochemical and ECL properties characteristic of ruthenium bipyridyl complexes. All complexes display absorptions in the UV and visible regions of the spectra, with visible absorptions ranging from 350 to 700 nm, typical of metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) transitions. Photoluminescence emission maxima are also characteristic of MLCT transitions with wavelength maxima from 575 to 600 nm depending on the nature of the acetylacetonate ligand. ECL efficiencies for the complexes (?ecl ∼ 0.013-0.051) are much lower than a standard (?ecl = 1) with electron-withdrawing substituents resulting in lower efficiencies.  相似文献

The character and dynamics of low-lying electronic excited states of the complexes fac-[Re(Cl)(CO)3(papy)2] and fac-[Re(papy)(CO)3(bpy)]+ (papy = trans-4-phenylazopyridine) were investigated using stationary (UV-Vis absorption, resonance Raman) and ultrafast time-resolved (visible, IR absorption) spectroscopic methods. Excitation of [Re(Cl)(CO)3(papy)2] at 400 nm is directed to 1ππ(papy) and Re → papy 1MLCT excited states. Ultrafast (?1.4 ps) intersystem crossing (ISC) to 3(papy) follows. Excitation of [Re(papy)(CO)3(bpy)]+ is directed to 1ππ(papy), 1MLCT(papy) and 1MLCT(bpy). The states 3(papy) and 3MLCT(bpy) are then populated simultaneously in less then 0.8 ps. The 3MLCT(bpy) state decays to 3(papy) with a 3 ps time constant. 3(papy) is the lowest excited state for both complexes. It undergoes vibrational cooling and partial rotation around the -NN- bond, to form an intermediate with a nonplanar papy ligand in less than 40 ps. This species then undergoes ISC to the ground state potential energy surface, on which the trans and cis isomers are formed by reverse and forward intraligand papy rotation, respectively. This process occurs with a time constant of 120 and 100 ps for [Re(Cl)(CO)3(papy)2] and [Re(papy)(CO)3(bpy)]+, respectively. It is concluded that coordination of papy to the Re center accelerates the ISC, switching the photochemistry from singlet to triplet excited states. Comparison with analogous 4-styrylpyridine complexes (M. Busby, P. Matousek, M. Towrie, A. Vl?ek Jr., J. Phys. Chem. A 109 (2005) 3000) reveals similarities of the decay mechanism of excited states of Re complexes with ligands containing -NN- and -CC- bonds. Both involve sub-picosecond ISC to triplets, partial rotation around the double bond and slower ISC to the trans or cis ground state. This process is about 200 times faster for the -NN- bonded papy ligand. The intramolecular energy transfer from the 3MLCT-excited Re(CO)3(bpy) chromophore to the intraligand state of the axial ligand occurs for both L = stpy and papy with a comparable rate of a few ps.  相似文献

Cyclometalation of benzo[h]quinoline (bzqH) by [RuCl(μ-Cl)(η6-C6H6)]2 in acetonitrile occurs in a similar way to that of 2-phenylpyridine (phpyH) to afford [Ru(bzq)(MeCN)4]PF6 (3) in 52% yield. The properties of 3 containing ‘non-flexible’ benzo[h]quinoline were compared with the corresponding [Ru(phpy)(MeCN)4]PF6 (1) complex with ‘flexible’ 2-phenylpyridine. The [Ru(phpy)(MeCN)4]PF6 complex is known to react in MeCN solvent with ‘non-flexible’ diimine 1,10-phenanthroline to form [Ru(phpy)(phen)(MeCN)2]PF6, being unreactive toward ‘flexible’ 2,2′-bipyridine under the same conditions. In contrast, complex 3 reacts both with phen and bpy in MeCN to form [Ru(bzq)(LL)(MeCN)2]PF6 {LL = bpy (4) and phen (5)}. Similar reaction of 3 in methanol results in the substitution of all four MeCN ligands to form [Ru(bzq)(LL)2]PF6 {LL = bpy (6) and phen (7)}. Photosolvolysis of 4 and 5 in MeOH occurs similarly to afford [Ru(bzq)(LL)(MeCN)(MeOH)]PF6 as a major product. This contrasts with the behavior of [Ru(phpy)(LL)(MeCN)2]PF6, which lose one and two MeCN ligands for LL = bpy and phen, respectively. The results reported demonstrate a profound sensitivity of properties of octahedral compounds to the flexibility of cyclometalated ligand. Analogous to the 2-phenylpyridine counterparts, compounds 4-7 are involved in the electron exchange with reduced active site of glucose oxidase from Aspergillus niger. Structure of complexes 4 and 6 was confirmed by X-ray crystallography.  相似文献

Addition of excess trimethylphosphine and a halide source to a solution of W(CO)(acac)2(η2-L) (L = NCPh and OCMe2) leads to displacement of L and one acetylacetonate chelate to produce electron-rich, seven-coordinate complexes of the formula W(CO)(acac)(X)(PMe3)3 (X = Cl, Br, and I). Use of NaN3 instead of a halide source leads primarily to loss of carbon monoxide and dinitrogen, and protonation from adventitious water yields the cationic imido complex [W(NH)(acac)(PMe3)3]+. Heating [W(NH)(acac)(PMe3)3]+ in aromatic isocyanates at high temperature results in isocyanate insertion into the NH imido bond to form new C-N bonds. An alternate route to related imido complexes involves heating [W(O)(acac)(PMe3)3]+ with phenyl isocyanate at high temperatures to yield the substituted imido complex [W(NPh)(acac)(PMe3)3]+.  相似文献

The title complexes were obtained as MIIM′II species [(bpy)2M(μ-abpy)M′(bpy)2](PF6)4, M,M′ = Ru or Os, using the new mononuclear precursor [(bpy)2Os(abpy)](PF6)2 for the osmium-containing dinuclear complexes. One-electron reduction produces radical complexes [(bpy)2M(μ-abpy)M′(bpy)2]3+ and [(bpy)2M(abpy)]+ with significant contributions from the metals, as evident from the EPR effects on successive replacement of ruthenium by osmium with its much higher spin-orbit coupling constant. The diruthenium and diosmium radical complexes were also studied by EPR at high-frequency (285 GHz), the latter shows an unusually large g anisotropy g1 − g3 = 0.25 in frozen solution. Further reduction was monitored by UV/Vis spectroelectrochemistry. Oxidation produced OsIII EPR signals for [(bpy)2Os(abpy)]3+ and [(bpy)2Os(μ-abpy)Ru(bpy)2]5+, indicating a RuIIOsIII species for the latter. The diosmium(III,II) and diruthenium(III,II) mixed-valent species remained EPR silent at 4 K, however, they exhibit weak inter-valence charge transfer (IVCT) bands at about 1460 nm. Whereas the cyclic voltammetric response towards reduction is only marginally different for the three dinuclear complexes, successive replacement of ruthenium by osmium causes the first oxidation potential to decrease. The much higher comproportionation constant Kc for the mixed valent diosmium(III,II) state (Kc > 1015) in comparison to the diruthenium(III,II) analogue with Kc = 1010 confirms the electron transfer alternative for the valence exchange mechanism, in contrast to the hole transfer established for analogous dinuclear complexes with the formally related diacylhydrazido(2−) bridging ligands.  相似文献

Cobalt(III) and rhodium(III) complexes of the series of [MIIICl3 − n(P)3 + n]n+ (M = Co or Rh; n = 0, 1, 2 or 3) have been prepared with the use of 1,1,1-tris(dimethylphosphinomethyl)ethane (tdmme) and mono- or didentate phosphines. The single-crystal X-ray analyses of both series of complexes revealed that the M-P and M-Cl bond lengths were dependent primarily on the strong trans influence of the phosphines, and secondarily on the steric congestion around the metal center resulting from the coordination of several phosphine groups. In fact, the M-P(tdmme) bonds became longer in the order of [MCl3(tdmme)] < [MCl2(tdmme)(PMe3)]+ < [MCl(tdmme)(dmpe)]2+ (dmpe = 1,2-bis(dimethylphosphino)ethane) < [M(tdmme)2]3+ for both CoIII and RhIII series of complexes, while the M-Cl bond lengths were shortened in this order (except for [M(tdmme)2]3+). Such a steric congestion around the metal center can also account for the structural and spectroscopic characteristics of the series of complexes, [MCl(tdmme)(dmpm, dmpe or dmpp)]2+ (dmpm = bis(dimethylphosphino)methane, dmpp = 1,3-bis(dimethylphosphino)propane). The X-ray analysis for [CoCl(tdmme)(dmpm or dmpe)](BF4)2 showed that all Co-P bonds in the dmpm complex were shorter by 0.03-0.04 Å than those in the dmpe complex. Furthermore, the first d-d transition energy of the CoIII complexes and the 1JRh-P(tdmme) coupling constants observed for the RhIII complexes indicated an unusual order in the coordination bond strengths of the didentate diphosphines, i.e., dmpm > dmpe > dmpp.  相似文献

Preliminary pharmacological studies of various nitric oxide (NO) photo-releasing agents are reported based on the flash-photolysis studies of the nitro ruthenium complexes cis-[RuII(NO2)L(bpy)2]+ (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine and L = pyridine, 4-picoline and pyrazine) and [RuII(NO2)(bpy)(terpy)]+ (terpy = terpyridine) in physiological medium. The net photoreactions under these conditions are two primary photoproducts, in (I) there is RuII-NO2 photoaquation, where the photoproducts are RuII-H2O plus and (II) homolytic dissociation of NO from a coordinated nitrito to derive the RuII-OH2 specie and NO. Based on photochemical processes, the nitro ruthenium complexes were incorporated in water in oil (W/O) microemulsion and used in the vasorelaxation induced experiment. Denuded rat aortas were contracted with KCl and nitro ruthenium complexes in microemulsion were added. Perfusion pressures were recorded while arteries were irradiated at 355 nm The time to reach maximum relaxation was longer for [RuII(NO2)(bpy)(terpy)]+ complex (ca. 50 min, n = 6) than for cis-[Ru(NO2)L(bpy)2]+ with L = py and 4-pic complex (ca. 28 min, n = 6) and cis-[Ru(NO2)(bpy)2 (pz)]2+ complex (ca. 24 min, n = 5).  相似文献

Three new complexes [Pt(dpop)(Cl)2], [(Cl)2Pt(dpop)Pt(Cl)2] and [(bpy)2Ru(dpop)Pt(Cl)2](PF6)2 (dpop = dipyrido(2,3-a:3′,2′-h)phenazine) were prepared and studied. The electronic absorption spectra of the complexes display Pt dπ → dpop π* and Ru dπ → dpop π* MLCT transitions at longer wavelengths than for previously reported similar complexes. Results of cyclic voltammograms show reversible dpop centered reductions while for the mixed metal [(bpy)2Ru(dpop)Pt(Cl)2]2+ an irreversible Pt(II) oxidative wave precedes the Ru(II) oxidation/reduction couple. Spectroelectrochemical results show that all oxidative and reductive processes are completely reversible. The [(Cl)2Pt(dpop)Pt(Cl)2] complex cleaves in solution with pseudo-first order kinetics resulting in loss of the Pt dπ → dpop π* MLCT transition at 545 nm.  相似文献

Ruthenium phosphine complexes with a CO ligand [Ru(tpy)(PR3)(CO)Cl]+ (tpy = 2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine, R = Ph or p-tolyl), were prepared by introduction of CO gas to the corresponding dichloro complexes at room temperature. New carbonyl complexes were characterized by various methods including structural analyses. They were shown to release CO following the addition of several N-donors to form the corresponding substituted complexes. The kinetic data and structural results observed in this study indicated that the CO release reactions proceeded in an interchange mechanism. The molecular structures of [Ru(tpy)(PPh3)(CO)Cl]PF6, [Ru(tpy)(P(p-tolyl)3)(CO)Cl]PF6 and [Ru(tpy)(PPh3)(CH3CN)Cl]PF6 were determined by X-ray crystallography.  相似文献

Three new five-coordinate CuII complexes, [Cu(tpy)(phen-dione)](PF6)2, [Cu(phen)(phen-dione)Cl]PF6 and [Cu(bpy)(phen-dione)Cl]PF6 (tpy = 2,2′;6′,2″-terpyridine, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline and phen-dione = 1,10-phenanthroline-5,6-dione) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and UV-Vis spectroscopies and cyclic voltammetry. The complex of [Cu(tpy)(phen-dione)](PF6)2 crystallized with one molecule of acetonitrile. The ortep drawing of [Cu(tpy)(phen-dione)](PF6)2 · CH3CN shows that the coordination geometry around CuII is a distorted trigonal- bipyramid. Due to the steric hindrance of in the unit cell, the tpy ligands in each complex cation cannot interact in a π-π fashion. The effective magnetic moment (μeff) of the complexes was measured by the Evans method. The cyclic voltammograms at Pt disk electrode for these complexes display only one reversible Cu(II)/Cu(I) redox couple.  相似文献

The molecular structure of an o-phenylenediamine unit-containing oligophenylene (1), Ph-Ph′-Ph′(2,3-NH2)-Ph′-Ph (Ph = phenyl; Ph′ = p-phenylene; Ph′(2,3-NH2) = 2,3-diamino-p-phenylene), was determined by X-ray crystallography. 1 has a twisted structure, and forms an intermolecular C-H?π interaction network. The -NH2 group of 1 was air-oxidized to an imine, NH, group in the presence of [RuCl2(bpy)2] (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridyl) and gave a ruthenium(II)-benzoquinone diimine complex [Ru(2)(bpy)2](PF6)2 (2: Ph-Ph′-Ph′(2,3-imine)-Ph′-Ph). The molecular structure of [Ru(2)(bpy)2](PF6)2 was confirmed by X-ray crystallography. [Ru(2)(bpy)2](PF6)2 underwent two-step electrochemical reduction with E1/2 = −0.889 V and −1.531 V versus Fc+/Fc. The E1/2’s were located at higher potentials by 91 mV and 117 mV, respectively, than those of reported [Ru(bqdi)(bpy)2](PF6)2 (bqdi = benzoquinone diimine). Electrochemical oxidation of [Ru(2)(bpy)2](PF6)2 occurred at a lower potential by 180 mV than that of [Ru(bqdi)(bpy)2](PF6)2. Occurrence of the easier reduction and oxidation of [Ru(2)(bpy)2](PF6)2 than those of [Ru(bqdi)(bpy)2](PF6)2 is ascribed to the presence of a large π-conjugation system in 2.  相似文献

Mo(CO)4(LL) complexes, where LL = polypyridyl ligands such as 2,2′-bipyridine and 1,10-phenanthroline, undergo quasi-reversible, one-electron oxidations in methylene chloride yielding the corresponding radical cations, [Mo(CO)4(LL)]+. These electrogenerated species undergo rapid ligand substitution in the presence of acetonitrile, yielding [Mo(CO)3(LL)(CH3CN)]+; rate constants for these substitutions were measured using chronocoulometry and were found to be influenced by the steric and electronic properties of the polypyridyl ligands. [Mo(CO)3(LL)(CH3CN)]+ radical cations, which could also be generated by reversible oxidation of Mo(CO)3(LL)(CH3CN) in acetonitrile, can be irreversibly oxidized yielding [Mo(CO)3(LL)(CH3CN)2]2+ after coordination by an additional acetonitrile. Infrared spectroelectrochemical experiments indicate the radical cations undergo ligand-induced net disproportionations that follow first-order kinetics in acetonitrile, ultimately yielding the corresponding Mo(CO)4(LL) and [Mo(CO)2(LL)(CH3CN)3]2+ species. Rate constants for the net disproportionation of [Mo(CO)3(LL)(CH3CN)]+ and the carbonyl substitution reaction of [Mo(CO)3(LL)(CH3CN)2]2+ were measured. Thin-layer bulk oxidation studies also provided infrared characterization data of [Mo(CO)4(ncp)]+ (ncp = neocuproine), [Mo(CO)3(LL)(CH3CN)]+, [Mo(CO)3(LL)(CH3CN)2]2+ and [Mo(CO)2(LL)(CH3CN)3]2+ complexes.  相似文献

N-[(2-Pyridyl)methyliden]-6-coumarin (L) is synthesized by the condensation of 6-aminocoumarin and pyridine-2-carboxaldehyde. Group-6 tetracarbonyl complexes, [M(CO)4(L)] (M = Cr, Mo, and W) are synthesized and characterized by mass spectrometry and NMR, FT-IR and UV-visible spectroscopy. X-ray crystal structure of [Cr(CO)4(L)] shows N(pyridine), N(imine) chelation to chromium(0). A supramolecular chain is formed by C-H?O and π?π interactions. The ligand and the complexes are fluorescent. Cyclic voltammetry of the complexes exhibit quasireversible M(I)/M(0) redox couple. The complexes exhibit potential antioxidant property both in cell free and in-vitro studies and highest activity is observed to [W(CO)4(L)]. Density functional theory (DFT) computation has been performed to correlate with the electronic configuration, composition of wave functions with the UV-visible spectra and redox properties.  相似文献

New bridging ligands, such as bpy-(COOCH2)-bpy (BL1), mbpy-(CH2)3COOCH2-bpy (BL2), bpy-COO(CH2)6OOC-bpy (BL3), and bpy-COOCH2PhPhCH2OOC-bpy (BL4), have been synthesized and coordinated to [RuL2(acetone)2](PF6)2 for various [Ru(L)2(BL)Ru(L)2](PF6)4-type dinuclear ruthenium complexes (where BL = BL1, BL2, BL3, BL4, and L = bpy, o-phen, DTDP). Their electrochemical redox potentials, spectroscopic properties and relative electrochemiluminescence were investigated in detail. All dinuclear Ru complexes exhibit MLCT (metal-to-ligand charge transfer) absorption and luminescence bands in the visible region. ECL intensities of dinuclear ruthenium(II) complexes were affected not only by the kind of the ligand, but also by the nature of the bridging ligand. Among the synthesized dinuclear Ru complexes, [(DTDP)2Ru(mbpy)-(CH2)3COOCH2-(bpy)Ru(DTDP)2](PF6)4 exhibited enhanced ECL intensities as high as 2.9 times greater than that of the reference, [Ru(o-phen)3](PF6)2.  相似文献

The trend in DNA-binding affinities and the spectral properties of a series of Ru(II) polypyridyl complexes, [Ru(bpy)2(dmdpq)]2+ (1), [Ru(bpy)2(dpq)]2+ (2), [Ru(bpy)2(cndpq)]2+ (3) (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine; dpq = dipyrido[3,2-d:2′,3′-f]quinoxaline; dmdpq = di-methyl-dpq; dcdpq = di-cyano-dpq), have been experimentally and theoretically investigated. The DNA-binding constants Kb of the complexes were determined systematically with spectrophotometric titration. The density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT (TDDFT) calculations were carried out for these complexes. The experimental results show that these complexes bind to DNA in intercalation mode, and the order of their intrinsic DNA-binding constants Kb is Kb(1) < Kb(2) ? Kb(3). The substituents on the intercalative ligands of the complexes play a very important role in the control of DNA-binding affinities of the complexes, in particular, the stronger electron-withdrawing substituent (-CN) on the intercalative ligand can greatly improve the DNA-binding property of the derivative complex. The trend in DNA-binding affinities as well as the spectral properties of metal-ligand charge-transition (1MLCT) of this series of complexes can be reasonably explained by applying the DFT and TDDFT calculations and the frontier molecular orbital theory.  相似文献

In order to explain the high reactivity of [Mo- (NO)2(dttd)] towards phosphines the structures of [Mo(CO)2(PMe3)(dttd)] and [Mo(NO)(NPMePh2)- (dttd)] have been determined by X-ray structure analysis and compared with the structures of other [M(dttd)] complexes (dttd2-=2,3;8,9-dibenzo- 1,4,7,10-tetrathiadecane(2-)). In [Mo(CO)2(PMe3)- (dttd)] the seven coordinate Mo center is ligated by one P, two C and four sulfur atoms. [Mo(NO)(NP- MePh2)(dttd)] contains a six coordinate molybenum atom pseudooctahedrally surrounded by two N and four S atoms and possesses a bent [MNP] entity with an exceedingly small angle of 129.7(4)°; the pseudooctahedral [MS4] core in [M(dttd)] fragments is flexible enough to accommodate the coordination of two as well as three further coligands. The reaction between [Mo(NO)2(dttd)] and phosphines PR3 yielding the phosphineiminato complexes [Mo(NO)- (NPR3)(dttd)] is dominated by the nucleophilicity of PR3 as is shown by the fast reactions with PMe3 and PCy3 and the slow reactions with arylphosphines. [MNP] angles and νas(MNP) frequencies in [M- (phosphineiminato)] complexes correlate: small angles compare with low frequencies. 13C, 95Mo and 14N NMR data of the complexes are discussed and indicate the oxidation of Mo and the reduction of the nitrogen of one NO ligand, when [Mo(NO)2- (dttd)] is converted into [Mo(NO)(NPR3)(dttd)]; NPR3 ligands act as strong 4e- donors.  相似文献

Substituted salicylaldehydes [C6HR1R2R3(CHO)(OH)] react with CoMe3(PMe3)3 to afford 6-coordinate (cis-dimethyl)(2-formyl-phenolato)trans-bis(trimethylphosphine)cobalt(III) compounds Co[C6HR1R2R3(CHO)(O)Me2](PMe3)2 (1: R1 = H; R2 = Me; R3 = tert-Bu; 2: R1, R2 = C6H4; R3 = H). Accordingly, substituted enolated malonic dialdehydes (CHO-CR4CR5-OH) react with CoMe3(PMe3)3 to afford 6-coordinate (cis-dimethyl)(2-formyl-enolato)trans-bis(trimethylphosphine)cobalt(III) compounds Co[(CHO-CR4CR5-O)(Me)2](PMe3)2 (3: R4, R5 = (CH2)2C6H4; 4: R4 = R5 = C6H5). In the molecular structure of 4, the cobalt atom is centred in an octahedral coordination geometry brought about by a six-membered chelate ring (O:O-ligand), cis-dimethyl and trans-trimethylphosphine groups. A reaction mechanism is suggested.  相似文献

The heteroleptic complexes, [(MePhtpy)RuCl(dpp)](PF6) and [(tpy)RuCl(dpp)](PF6), have been synthesized, characterized, and investigated with respect to their photophysical, redox, and DNA photocleavage properties (where MePhtpy = 4′-(4-methylphenyl)-2,2′:6′,2′′-terpyridine and dpp = 2,3-bis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine, tpy = 2,2′:6′,2′′-terpyridine). The X-ray crystal structure confirms the identity of the new [(MePhtpy)RuCl(dpp)](PF6) complex. These heteroleptic complexes were found to photocleave DNA in the presence of oxygen, unlike the previously studied complex, [Ru(tpy)2](PF6)2. The photophysical, redox, and DNA photocleavage properties of the heteroleptic complexes were compared with those of the homoleptic complexes, [Ru(MePhtpy)2](PF6)2 and [Ru(tpy)2](PF6)2. The heteroleptic complexes showed intense metal to ligand charge transfer (MLCT) transition at lower energy ([(MePhtpy)RuCl(dpp)](PF6), 522 nm; [(tpy)RuCl(dpp)](PF6), 516 nm) and longer excited state lifetimes as compared to the homoleptic complexes. The [Ru(MePhtpy)2]2+ complex was found to photocleave DNA in contrast to [Ru(tpy)2]2+. The introduction of a methylphenyl group on the tepyridine ligand not only enhances the 3MLCT excited state lifetime but also increases the lipophilicity and thereby the DNA binding ability of the molecule. An increase in lipophilicity upon addition of a methylphenyl group on the 2,2′:6′,2′′-terpyridine ligand was confirmed by determination of the partition coefficient ([(MePhtpy)RuCl(dpp)](PF6), log P = +1.16; [(tpy)RuCl(dpp)](PF6), log P = −1.27). The heteroleptic complexes photocleave DNA more efficiently than the homoleptic complexes, with the greatest activity being observed for the newly prepared [(MePhtpy)RuCl(dpp)](PF6) complex.  相似文献

Structural changes between [OsIIL3]2+ and [OsIIIL3]3+ (L: 2,2′-bipyridine; 1,10-phenanthroline) and molecular and electronic structures of the OsIII complexes [OsIII(bpy)3]3+ and [OsIII(phen)3]3+ are discussed in this paper. Mid-infrared spectra in the ν(bpy) and ν(phen) ring stretching region for [OsII(bpy)3](PF6)2, [OsIII(bpy)3](PF6)3, [OsII(phen)3](PF6)2, and [OsIII(phen)3](PF6)3 are compared, as are X-ray crystal structures. Absorption spectra in the UV region for [OsIII(bpy)3](PF6)3 and [OsIII(phen)3](PF6)3 are dominated by very intense absorptions (ε = 40 000-50 000 M−1 cm−1) due to bpy and phen intra-ligand π → π transitions. In the visible region, relatively narrow bands with vibronic progressions of ∼1500 cm−1 appear, and have been assigned to bpy or phen-based, spin-orbit coupling enhanced, 1π → 3π electronic transitions. Also present in the visible region are ligand-to-metal charge transfer bands (LMCT) arising from π(bpy) → t2g(OsIII) or π(phen) → t2g(OsIII) transitions. In the near infrared, two broad absorption features appear for oxidized forms [OsIII(bpy)3](PF6)3 and [OsIII(phen)3](PF6)3 arising from dπ-dπ interconfigurational bands characteristic of dπ5OsIII. They are observed at 4580 and 5090 cm−1 for [OsIII(bpy)3](PF6)3 and at 4400 and 4990 cm−1 for [OsIII(phen)3](PF6)3. The bpy and phen infrared vibrational bands shift to higher energy upon oxidation of Os(II) to Os(III). In the cation structure in [OsIII(bpy)3](PF6)3, the OsIII atom resides at a distorted octahedral site, as judged by ∠N-Os-N, which varies from 78.78(22)° to 96.61(22)°. Os-N bond lengths are also in general longer for [OsIII(bpy)3](PF6)3 compared to [OsII(bpy)3](PF6)2 (0.010 Å), and for [OsIII(phen)3](PF6)3 compared to [OsII(phen)3](PF6)2 (0.014 Å). Structural changes in the ligands between oxidation states are discussed as originating from a combination of dπ(OsII) → π (bpy or phen) backbonding and charge redistribution on the ligands as calculated by natural population analysis.  相似文献
