Four tovarol, two epoxytovarol (= shiromodiol) and one diepoxytovarol esters were the new germacrane esters isolated from the roots of Thapsia villosa var. minor. The structures of these substances were assigned on the basis of spectral data and chemical correlations with shiromodiol. The acid catalysed rearrangement of tavarol yielded 1(10),4-bulgaradiene-8-ol.  相似文献

The relationships between salt tolerance and photosynthetic mechanisms of excess energy dissipation were assessed using two species that exhibit contrasting responses to salinity, Ricinus communis (tolerant) and Jatropha curcas (sensitive). The salt tolerance of R. communis was indicated by unchanged electrolyte leakage (cellular integrity) and dry weight in leaves, whereas these parameters were greatly affected in J. curcas. The leaf Na+ content was similar in both species. Photosynthesis was intensely decreased in both species, but the reduction was more pronounced in J. curcas. In this species biochemical limitations in photosynthesis were more prominent, as indicated by increased Ci values and decreased Rubisco activity. Salinity decreased both the Vcmax (in vivo Rubisco activity) and Jmax (maximum electron transport rate) more significantly in J. curcas. The higher tolerance in R. communis was positively associated with higher photorespiratory activity, nitrate assimilation and higher cyclic electron flow. The high activity of these alternative electron sinks in R. communis was closely associated with a more efficient photoprotection mechanism. In conclusion, salt tolerance in R. communis, compared with J. curcas, is related to higher electron partitioning from the photosynthetic electron transport chain to alternative sinks.  相似文献

Homoserine dehydrogenase was extracted from Ricinus communis and Pisum sativum. The kinetic parameters of the forward and reverse reactions were determined. The ethyl ester of kaempferol 3-O-β-D-glucuronide, the methyl and ethyl esters of quercetin 3-O-β-D-glucuronide have been isolated from an aqueous acetone extract of the flowers of Tamarix nilotica. In addition kaempferol 3-O-sulphate-7,4′-dimethyl ether and the free aglycones were isolated. The structures were established by routine methods, by FAB-MS and by 13C NMR spectral measurements.  相似文献

The genetic diversity of 108 individuals of wild pear species (Pyrus communis subsp. caucasica, P. balansae, P. salicifolia, P. syriaca, P. demetrii, P. bulgarica, P. ketzkhovelii, P. sachokiana) and 35 samples of local and introduced cultivated pears from the country of Georgia were compared to 73 individuals of wild P. communis subsp. caucasica and P. communis subsp. pyraster in the collection of USDA-ARS National Plant Germplasm System (NPGS). Pyrus communis subsp. caucasica from both Georgia and the NPGS, P. communis subsp. pyraster from the NPGS, and P. salicifolia from Georgia were differentiated, based on analysis of eleven microsatellite markers. In addition, accessions of P. communis subsp. caucasica from Georgia were genetically distinct from accessions of the same subspecies in the NPGS collection that originated from other European and Middle Eastern Asian countries. Local pear cultivars in Georgia were genetically similar to P. communis subsp. caucasica and P. balansae growing wild in Georgia suggesting that they may have originated from native pear trees that could serve as unique genetic resources for pear breeding programmes.  相似文献

Two purified lectins, namely, wheat-germ agglutinin (from Triticum vulgaris) and the hemagglutinin from Ricinus communis seeds, readily form a precipitate with pneumococcal S-14 polysaccharide, whereas the Bandeiraea simplicifolia lectin (BS 1) does not. Exhaustive periodate oxidation and borohydride reduction of S 14 modifies terminal β-D-galactopyranosyl residues, as well as chain D-glucopyranosyl residues, and abolishes reactivity with both the R. communis lectin and wheat-germ agglutinin. Controlled periodate oxidation followed by Smith degradation cleaves only terminal β-D-galactopyranosyl residues, giving a linear polymer, the structure of which was determined by methylation analysis. This derived polymer, containing (1→6)-linked 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-β-D-glucosyl residues, readily precipitated wheat-germ agglutinin, but not the R. communis lectin.  相似文献

Soybean varieties that exhibit resistance to the soybean aphid Aphis glycines have been developed for use in North America. In principle, host-plant resistance to soybean aphid can influence the interactions between the soybean aphid and its natural enemies. Resistance could change the quality of soybean aphids as a food source, the availability of soybean aphids, or resistance traits could directly affect aphid predators and parasitoids. Here, we focus on the effect of soybean aphid resistance on the interactions between soybean aphids, the parasitoid Binodoxys communis (Hymenoptera: Braconidae), and predators of these two species. We determined whether host-plant resistance affected within-season persistence of B. communis by releasing parasitoids into resistant and susceptible soybean plots. We observed higher B. communis densities in susceptible soybean plots than in resistant plots. There were also higher overall levels of intraguild predation of B. communis in susceptible plots, although the per-capita risk of intraguild predation of B. communis was affected neither by plant genotype nor by aphid density. We discuss these effects and whether they were caused by direct effects of the resistant plants on B. communis or indirect effects through soybean aphid or predators.  相似文献

In a chemosystematic investigation of three Southern hemisphere species of Veronica, namely the Australian Veronica derwentiana Andrews and Veronica perfoliata R.Br. (formerly Derwentia species), and the New Zealand Veronica catarractae G. Forster (formerly a species of Parahebe), the water-soluble constituents were isolated and identified by spectroscopic methods. Apart from other iridoid glucosides common to the genus, three unusual substituted benzoyl esters of aucubin (derwentiosides A–C) were obtained from V. derwentiana and a chlorinated iridoid glycoside (catarractoside) from V. catarractae in addition to other iridoids common to the genus. The chemical profile of V. perfoliata is similar to that of Northern hemisphere species of Veronica because of the presence of characteristic 6-O-catalpol esters. The profile of V. derwentiana is unique, since 6-O-esters of aucubin rather than of catalpol dominate, however, the acyl groups are the same as those present in catalpol esters found in some other Veronica sections. V. catarractae also contains one of the catalpol esters characteristic of Veronica, but in addition three 6-O-rhamnopyranosyl substituted iridoid glycosides, one of which is 6-O-rhamnopyranosylcatalpol. Esters of the latter compound are previously only known from the more derived species in recent phylogenetic trees of sect. Hebe to which V. catarractae now also belongs, but as a more basal member.  相似文献

A large number of diterpenes have been isolated from Euphorbiaceae plants, many of which are of interest due to toxicity or potential therapeutic activity. Specific Euphorbiaceae diterpenes of medical interest include the latent HIV-1 activator prostratin (and related 12-deoxyphorbol esters), the analgesic resiniferatoxin, and the anticancer drug candidate ingenol 3-angelate. In spite of the large number of diterpenes isolated from these plants and the similarity of their core structures, there is little known about their biosynthetic pathways. Other than the enzymes involved in gibberellin biosynthesis, the only diterpene synthase isolated to date from the Euphorbiaceae has been casbene synthase, responsible for biosynthesis of a macrocyclic diterpene in the castor bean (Ricinus communis). Here, we have selected five Euphorbiaceae species in which to investigate terpene biosynthesis and report on the distribution of diterpene synthases within this family. We have discovered genes encoding putative casbene synthases in all of our selected Euphorbiaceae species and have demonstrated high-level casbene production through expression of four of these genes in a metabolically engineered strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The only other diterpene synthase found among the five plants was a neocembrene synthase from R. communis (this being the first report of a neocembrene synthase gene). Based on the prevalence of casbene synthases, the lack of other candidates, and the structure of the casbene skeleton, we consider it likely that casbene is the precursor to a large number of Euphorbiaceae diterpenes. Casbene production levels of 31 mg/L were achieved in S. cerevisiae and we discuss strategies to further increase production by maximizing flux through the mevalonate pathway.  相似文献

本文在半干旱区科尔沁沙地研究沙地芦苇生长发育对地下水位改变的响应。通过比较不同地下水位深度下沙地芦苇生态特征,结果表明:与对照相比,0-200cm的水位条件更利于沙地芦苇的生长。但是这种生长特点随着水位深度不同而有所差异。具体表现为40-120cm的水位条件下沙地芦苇的根冠比和垂直根长都随着水位深度的增加而逐渐增加,当地下水位大于120cm时根冠比的趋势则相反;根长密度值则表现出在0-120cm水位条件下的要大于120-200cm水位条件下的;而40cm的浅水位表现出了对沙地芦苇生长的抑制作用,即在这种水位条件下会抑制沙地芦苇的蒸腾光合作用、减小叶面积的增长,但是其最终的株高叶面积及生物量仍表现出优于对照的生长状况。  相似文献

为了探明金龟甲偏爱选择有害非寄主植物蓖麻的原因,应用触角电位(EAG)仪和“Y”型嗅觉仪,分别测定了华北大黑鳃金龟、暗黑鳃金龟和铜绿丽金龟雌、雄虫对5种蓖麻叶挥发物的触角电位和选择行为反应。EAG测定结果表明,3种金龟甲雄虫对各处理挥发物的EAG反应值均比参照挥发物顺-3-己烯-1-醇强。华北大黑鳃金龟对邻苯二甲酸二丁酯和肉桂醛的EAG反应值相对较高,暗黑鳃金龟对苯甲醇的EAG反应值相对较高,铜绿丽金龟对邻苯二甲酸二丁酯和苯甲醇的EAG反应值相对较高。选择行为反应测定结果表明,当顺-3-己烯-1-醇与其他挥发物配对测试时,华北大黑鳃金龟对邻苯二甲酸二丁酯和肉桂醛2种蓖麻叶挥发物表现出明显的选择偏好,暗黑鳃金龟对蓖麻叶挥发物苯甲醇表现出明显的选择偏好,铜绿丽金龟则更偏好选择蓖麻的绿叶气味物质顺-3-己烯-1-醇。总之,蓖麻叶的挥发性物质与引诱金龟甲偏爱选择密切相关,且偏爱的挥发物因金龟甲的种类而异。  相似文献

Plasmodium berghei salivary gland and oocyst sporozoites were examined with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)-lectins to determine if sporozoites had carbohydrate-containing molecules on their surfaces. None of the eight fluorescein isothiocyanate-lectins bound to the sporozoites. However, incubation of sporozoites in mouse serum permitted subsequent binding of concanavalin A and Ricinus communis agglutinin I. In general, serum binding occurred when sporozoites were incubated in serum from hosts susceptible to sporozoite infection. Sporozoites of the rodent parasite, P. berghei, tended to bind rodent but not primate serum, while sporozoites of the monkey parasite, Plasmodium knowlesi, tended to bind primate but not rodent serum. The serum component(s) that bound to sporozoites were concentrated considerably by ammonium sulfate precipitation followed by concanavalin A—Sepharose affinity chromatography.  相似文献

In a continued chemosystematic investigation of the water-soluble compounds in Veronica sect. Hebe, four additional species were investigated. In comparison to other, Northern Hemisphere (NH) species of Veronica, those belonging to the New Zealand species in sect. Hebe are apparently more variable in chemical content. In addition to the compounds characteristic for NH Veronica, namely mannitol, aucubin, catalpol and 6-O-esters of catalpol as well as some caffeoyl phenylethanoid glucosides (CGPs), Veronica topiaria (syn. Hebe topiaria) also gave an unusual 6-O-ester of aucubin named topiarioside. The former Hebe species Veronica cupressoides and Veronica stenophylla each provided one of the two previously undescribed disaccharide esters named hebitol I and II, respectively, and the former plant also provided a CPG named cuproside, a 6-O-β-glucopyranosyl derivative of the known hebeoside. The last species, namely Veronica hulkeana (syn. Heliohebe hulkeana) only contained compounds common to other species of Veronica. The taxonomic results are discussed and it is concluded that carbohydrate esters are common in sect. Hebe. The data so far obtained indicate that the occurrences of esters of 6-O-rhamnopyranosylcatalpol are confined to the most derived species in the section.  相似文献

Intact lipopolysaccharide antigens isolated from seven different immunotypes of Pseudomonas aeruginosa have been examined by 31P-NMR spectroscopy. These macromolecular complexes contain phosphorus covalently attached to the carbohydrate residues present in the lipid A moiety and the ‘core’ oligosaccharide region. The spectral signals for various ortho- and pyro-phosphoric esters were observed. All phosphate groups appeared to be mono-esterified. Certain shifts characteristic for phosphate diester groups, observed in lipopolysaccharide complexes from other Gram-negative bacteria, were absent. Furthermore, no evidence was found to indicate that phosphate groups are involved in the covalent linkage of individual lipopolysaccharide complexes to form dimers or trimers.  相似文献

Wax on leaves of rye and of hexaploid Triticale (60–70-day-old plants) contains hydrocarbons (6–8%), esters (10%), free alcohols (14-8%), free acids (3%), hentriacontane-14,16-dione (39–45%), 25 (S)-hydroxyhentriacontane-14,16-dione (13–11%) and unidentified (14–15%). Diesters (1–3%) are also present in rye wax. Compositions of hydrocarbons (C27-C33) and esters (C28,C58) are similar for both waxes. Free and combined alcohols of rye wax are mainly hexacosanol but alcohols of Triticale wax are mainly octacosanol. The composition of Triticale wax is close to that of its wheat parent Triticum durum (cv. Stewart 63). Esters of wax from ripe rye contain 58% of trans 2,3-unsaturated esters. *NRCC No. 14033.  相似文献

以麻疯树(Jatropha curcas L.)总RNA为模板,根据已报道的鲨烯合酶基因序列设计简并引物,用RACE方法克隆得到麻疯树鲨烯合酶基因全长cDNA,命名为JcSQSJcSQS全长1609 bp,包含1个1242 bp的开放阅读框,预测麻疯树鲨烯合酶基因编码的蛋白含有413个氨基酸。JcSQS具有鲨烯合酶类的保守结构域,JcSQS 蛋白与蓖麻、柿、木榄等植物中SQS基因编码的氨基酸序列具有高度同源性。这为研究麻疯树萜烯类物质的生物合成和调控机制奠定了基础。  相似文献

Ferula species of the section Palaeonarthex contains various sesquiterpenoids. While C-15 terpenoid coumarins of the iresan type are the most characteristic constituents of species in the subsection Foetidissimae, sesquiterpene lactones and C-10 terpenoid coumarns are found in the subsection Tumidae and esters of the sesquiterpene alcohols in the subsection Jaeschkaenae. The biogenetic relationships of the Ferula sesquiterpenoids and their chemosystematic value are discussed.  相似文献

The mosses Andreaea rupestris, Pogonatum aloides and P. urnigerum contain surface waxes in amounts of 0.05–0.12% dry wt. The waxes consisted of esters (C38-C54), primary alcohols (C20-C32), free fatty acids (C16-C30), and alkanes (C21-C31). Additionally, aldehydes (C22-C30) were major constituents in the wax of P. urnigerum. The classes and their chain length distributions in the surface waxes of these mosses are comparable to those of epicuticular waxes of higher plants.  相似文献
