The male genitalia of 13 species from four genera of Astathini were described and analyzed. The result showed that five genital characters, such as shape of the apex of 8th abdominal tergaum and sternum, ratio of the length of lateral lobes to tegmen, can be used to identify genera of Astathini; six characters, such as ratio of the length of lateral lobes to tegmen, ratio of the length of roof to lateral lobes, shape of the apex of ventral plate of median lobe, can be used to identify species in Bacchisa.  相似文献

A karyotype of Trifolium repens constructed from mitotic cells revealed 13 pairs of metacentric and 3 pairs of submetacentric chromosomes including a pair of satellites located at the end of the short arm of chromosome 16.C-bands were identified around the centromeric regions of 8 pairs of chromosomes.A 350 bp tandemly repeated DNAsequence from T.repens labelled with digoxygenin hybridized to the proximal centromeric regions of 12 chromosome pairs.Some correlation between the distribution of the repeat sequence and the distribution of C-banding was demonstrated.  相似文献

The kinematics of turning maneuvers of startled Crucian Carp (Carassius auratus) are presented. All escape response observed are C-type fast-starts. The position of the center of mass and the me,merit of inertia of the fish are calculated. The results show that the position of the center of mass is always at 35% of the length of the fish from the head and the position of the center of mass and rroment of inertia can be considered unchanged during C-start of Crucian Carp. Hydro-dynamic analysis of the C-start is given based on the kinematics data from our experiments. The C-start consists of three stages. In stage 1, the tail fin of fish rapidly flaps in one direction, and a large moment acts on the fish‘s body, which rotates around the center of mass with an angular acceleration. In stage 2, the tail fin flaps more slowly in the opposite direction at slower speed, the fish‘s body rotates around the center of mass with angular deceleration and the center of mass of the fish moves along an are. In stage 3, the moment approximately equals zero, the fish‘s body stops rotating and the center of mass the moves along a straight line.  相似文献

High load-bearing efficiency is one of the advantages of biological structures after the evolution of billions of years. Biomimicking from nature may offer the potential for lightweight design. In the viewpoint ofrnechanics properties, the culm of bamboo comprises of two types of cells and the number of the vascular bundles takes a gradient of distribution. A three-point bending test was carried out to measure the elastic modulus. Results show that the elastic modulus of bamboo decreases gradually from the periphery towards the centre. Based on the structural characteristics of bamboo, a bionic cylindrical structure was designed to mimic the gradient distribution of vascular bundles and parenchyma cells. The buckling resistance of the bionic structure was compared with that of a traditional shell of equal mass under axial pressure by finite element simulations. Results show that the load-bearing capacity of bionic shell is increased by 124.8%. The buckling mode of bionic structure is global buckling while that of the conventional shell is local buckling.  相似文献

Rhizophora stylosa, Heritiera littoralis and Lumnitzera racemosa are the new records of geographical distribution of the mangrove floristic composition in the coast district of east Guangdong. In the mangrove of this coast district, there are 13 families, 20 genera, 20 species, making up 24% of the total species of mangrove of the world, ess than Hainan Island but almost equal to west Guangdong. It shows the physiognomy and structure of shrubland and forest. According to the floristiccomposition, physiognomy, structure and characteristics of habitat, it may be divided into two types: beach-mangrove and coast-semi-mangrove and seven formations.The distribution of angrove in the coast of east Guangdong indicates the situation of the mangrove of this district in the geographical distribution of mangrove in the world and the tropical character of vegetation and the transition of vegetation from tropics to subtropics in this district.  相似文献

A light-induced shrinkage of chloroplasts in vivo could be detected with chloroplasts isolated within 2 minutes of harvesting pea plants. As determined both by packed volume and Coulter counter, the mean volume of chloroplasts from plants in the dark was 39 μ3, whereas it was 31 μ3 for chloroplasts from plants in the light. Upon illumination of the plants, the half-time for the chloroplast shrinkage in vivo was about 3 minutes, and the half-time for the reversal in the dark was about 5 minutes. A plant growth temperature of 20° was optimal for the volume change. The chloroplast shrinkage was half-maximal for a light intensity of 400 lux incident on the plants and was light-saturated near 2000 lux. The light-absorbing pigment responsible for the volume change was chlorophyll. This light-induced shrinkage resulted in a flattening and slight indenting of the chloroplasts. This chloroplast flattening upon illumination of the plants may accompany an increase in the photosynthetic efficiency of chloroplasts.  相似文献

In mesophyll cells of the water plant Lemna trisulca L. chloroplasts redistribute in response to blue light. In the present study it is shown that an actin depolymerizing agent cytochalasin D, a crosslinker of actin subunits in F-actin m-maleimidobenzoic acid N-hydroxysuccinimide ester (MBS) as well as N-ethylmaleimide (NEM)—a sulfhydryl group reagent, are potent inhibitors of these blue light-induced chloroplast movements in Lemna. Extraction with cold, buffered glycerol solution preserves light-induced chloroplast arrangements within cells producing permeabilized cell models. ‘Reactivation’ of these cell models by Mg-ATP results in remarkable movements which can be inhibited by treatment with NEM and cytochalasin D. Immunofluorescence microscopy demonstrates that a component which is associated with isolated Lemna chloroplasts cross-reacts with antibodies directed against bovine myosin. These results indicate that a contractile actomyosin system is involved in blue light-induced chloroplast movements in Lemna and a putative motor protein, similar to myosin, is associated with the surface of Lemna chloroplasts.  相似文献

Isolated chloroplasts show a light-induced reversible increase in blue-green fluorescence (BGF), which is only dependent on NADPH changes. In the present communication, we report a time-resolved and spectral analysis of this BGF in reconstituted chloroplasts and intact isolated chloroplasts, in the dark and under actinic illumination. From these measurements we deduced the contribution of the different forms of NADPH (free and bound to proteins) to the light-induced variation of BGF and conclude that this variation is due only to the redox change of the NADP pool. A simple model estimating the distribution of NADPH between the free and bound form was designed, that explains the differences measured for the BGF of reconstituted chloroplasts and intact chloroplasts. From the decay-associated spectra of the chloroplast BGF, we also deduced the participation of flavins to the green peak of chloroplast fluorescence emission spectrum, and the existence of excitation energy transfer from proteins to bound NADPH in chloroplasts. In addition, we re-examined the use of chloroplast BGF as a quantitative measure of NADPH concentration, and confirmed that chloroplast BGF can be used for non-destructive, continuous and probably quantitative monitoring of light-induced changes in NADP redox state.  相似文献

Lead ions are particularly dangerous to the photosynthetic apparatus, but little is known about the effects of trace metals, including Pb, on regulation of chloroplast redistribution. In this study a new effect of lead on chloroplast distribution patterns and movements was demonstrated in mesophyll cells of a small-sized aquatic angiosperm Lemna trisulca L. (star duckweed). An analysis of confocal microscopy images of L. trisulca fronds treated with lead (15 μM Pb2+, 24 h) in darkness or in weak white light revealed an enhanced accumulation of chloroplasts in the profile position along the anticlinal cell walls, in comparison to untreated plants. The rearrangement of chloroplasts in their response to lead ions in darkness was similar to the avoidance response of chloroplasts in plants treated with strong white light. Transmission electron microscopy X-ray microanalysis showed that intracellular chloroplast arrangement was independent of the location of Pb deposits, suggesting that lead causes redistribution of chloroplasts, which looks like a light-induced avoidance response, but is not a real avoidance response to the metal. Furthermore, a similar redistribution of chloroplasts in L. trisulca cells in darkness was observed also under the influence of exogenously applied hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). In addition, we detected an enhanced accumulation of endogenous H2O2 after treatment of plants with lead. Interestingly, H2O2-specific scavenger catalase partly abolished the Pb-induced chloroplast response. These results suggest that H2O2 can be involved in the avoidance-like movement of chloroplasts induced by lead. Analysis of photometric measurements revealed also strong inhibition (but not complete) of blue-light-induced chloroplast movements by lead. This inhibition may result from disturbances in the actin cytoskeleton, as we observed fragmentation and disappearance of actin filaments around chloroplasts. Results of this study show that the mechanisms of the toxic effect of lead on chloroplasts can include disturbances in their movement and distribution pattern.  相似文献

Photometric evidence for a reversible, red-light induced transmission decrease in excised leaf tissue or the thalli of certain marine algae has been obtained under conditions which correspond to the occurrence of a light-induced shrinkage of chloroplasts within the cells. Evidence supporting this conclusion is: A) The kinetics of the nonspecific transmission changes are similar to those observed in chloroplasts in vitro. B) The magnitude of the response is larger than could be accounted for by any known pigment which absorbs at 546 mμ. C) The light-induced transmission changes are optimal at pH 5.5 to 6.5 in the presence of electron flow cofactors and weak acid anions, conditions which are optimal for light-induced chloroplast shrinkage in isolated chloroplasts. D) Examination of chloroplast ultrastructure in dark incubated and illuminated chloroplasts reveals a flattening of the chloroplast structure and shrinkage.  相似文献

In gametophytic cells (prothalli) of the fern Adiantum capillus-veneris, nuclei as well as chloroplasts change their position according to light conditions. Nuclei reside on anticlinal walls in darkness and move to periclinal or anticlinal walls under weak or strong light conditions, respectively. Here we reveal that red light-induced nuclear movement is mediated by neochrome1 (neo1), blue light-induced movement is redundantly mediated by neo1, phototropin2 (phot2) and possibly phot1, and dark positioning of both nuclei and chloroplasts is mediated by phot2. Thus, both the nuclear and chloroplast photorelocation movements share common photoreceptor systems.  相似文献

The activity of ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate (RuBP) car?ylase in intact spinach chloroplasts is shown to depend on light and CO2. This activity was measured upon lysis of chloroplasts and assay of the initial activity using nonlimiting substrate concentrations. Incubation of chloroplasts at 25 °C in the absence of CO2 results in a gradual inactivation of the RuBP car?ylase. In the presence of CO2 the initial activity is preserved or increased. CO2 is also able to reactivate the chloroplast car?ylase previously inactivated in the absence of CO2. Upon illumination of the chloroplasts, additional activation was observed. This light activation results from an increased affinity for CO2 of the chloroplast car?ylase. At pH 7.8, the enzyme in dark-adapted chloroplasts required 112 μ m CO2 for half activation, while in the light it required 24 μ m CO2. The light activation was inhibited by 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea, carbonylcyanide 3-chlorophenylhydrazone, or dl-glyceraldehyde. Part of the light activation is most likely due to increased Mg2+ in the stroma. dl-Glyceraldehyde inhibition also suggests that some intermediate of the photosynthetic carbon cycle is involved. These results suggest that photosynthetic CO2 assimilation in the chloroplast depends upon the amount of activation of the RuBP car?ylase. This activation is regulated by CO2 and light-induced changes in the chloroplast stroma such as pH, Mg2+, and intermediates of the photosynthetic carbon cycle.  相似文献

The metallochromic indicator Eriochrome Blue SE was used to measure light-induced internal movement of Mg2+ in intact chloroplasts. By dual-wavelength spectroscopy (measuring wavelength 554 nm, reference 592 nm) a light-induced, dark-reversible absorbance increase of Eriochrome Blue in samples of isolated intact chloroplasts was observed. The light/dark difference spectrum of Eriochrome Blue between 550 and 590 nm (reference wavelength 562 nm) indicated that this absorbance increase was caused by an increased concentration of free Mg2+ in a neutral or slightly alkaline chloroplast compartment.

The signal was seen only with intact, but not with broken, envelope-free chloroplasts, which had lost most of their divalent cations. This is interpreted to show that the indicator responds to an increase of Mg2+ concentration in the chloroplast stroma, which represents an efflux of Mg2+ from the intra-thylakoid space caused by light-dependent proton pumping.

As calculated from corrected values of the absorbance increase of Eriochrome Blue, the light-induced internal release of Mg2+ was close to 100 nequiv per mg chlorophyll at pH 7.6 and 250 nequiv at pH 7.1. This corresponds to a light-dependent increase in the concentration of free Mg2+ in the stroma of about 2 and 5 mM, respectively.  相似文献

Summary Changes in the organization of cortical actin microfilaments during phytochrome-mediated and blue light-induced photoorientation of chloroplasts were investigated by rhodamine-phalloidin staining in protonemal cells of the fernAdiantum capillusveneris. Low- and high-fluence rate responses were induced by partial irradiation of individual cells with a microbeam of 20 m in width. In the low-fluence rate responses to red and blue light, a circular structure composed of microfilaments was induced on the chloroplast concentrated in the irradiated region, on the side facing the plasma membrane, as already reported in the case of the low-fluence rate response induced by polarized red or blue light. Such a structure was not observed on the chloroplasts located far from the microbeam. Time-course studies revealed that the structure was induced after the chloroplasts gathered in the illuminated region and that the structure disappeared before chloroplasts moved out of this region when the microbeam was turned off. In the high-fluence rate response to blue light, chloroplasts avoided the irradiated site but accumulated in the shaded area adjacent the edges of microbeam. The circular structure made of microfilaments was also observed on the chloroplasts gathered in the area and it showed the same behavior with respect to its appearance and disappearance during a light/dark regime as in the case of the low-fluence rate response. However, no such circular structure was observed in the high-fluence rate response to red light, in which case the chloroplasts also avoided the illuminated region but no accumulation in the adjacent areas was induced. These results indicate that the circular structure composed of microfilaments may play a role in the anchorage of the chloroplast during intracellular photo-orientation.  相似文献
