Single-strain cultures of Pseudomonas fragi, P. fluorescens, P. putrefaciens, and strains of two marine species, Pseudomonas type I and Pseudomonas type II, were found to be capable of reducing added acetaldehyde, proprionaldehyde, and butyraldehyde to the corresponding alcohols at 21 C. All species studied reduced propionaldehyde at 6 C. P. fragi, Pseudomonas type I, and Pseudomonas type II reduced butanone at 6 and 21 C. P. fragi and Pseudomonas type II reduced acetone at 21 C. Dehydrogenase activity was found in some cultures in which growth was not evident. Under aerobic conditions, a strain of P. fragi reduced added propionaldehyde to n-propanol quantitatively within 36 hr at 21 C.  相似文献

An investigation of the relationship of succinic dehydrogenase (SDH) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in the pineal gland of the adult female albino rats was carried out during seven definitive stages of the estrous cycle: Early Estrus (E1), Late Estrus (E2), Metestrus (ME), Early Diestrus (D1), Late Diestrus (D2), Preproestrus (PPE) and Proestrus (PE). Controlled housing conditions were maintained on 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. light-dark cycle. The animals were necropsied at precise times after the onset of estrus and subsequent stages of the cycle. Comparative histochemical and biochemical analysis revealed the following for SDH activity: E2 greater than E1 greater than D2 greater than D1 greater than PPE greater than PE greater than ME; and for LDH activity: PE greater than E2 greater than ME greater than D1 greater than PPE greater than E1 greater than D2. Interrelationships are postulated between pineal SDH, GOT, GPT, and estrogen concentrations in the rat.  相似文献

Total and specific alcohol dehydrogenase activity has been compared in homogenates of 19 different types of human tissues from different sources. ADH activities were detected in tissues which have not been tested yet, e.g., thyroid gland, adrenal gland, fat tissue, skin tissue, peritoneal membrane, breast tissue, duodenum, and gall bladder. Healthy and pathological human tissue differ in their ADH activity. The percentage of the total activity has been estimated in each tested organ in relation to the total activity of the whole body.  相似文献

Dehydrogenase activity as a method for monitoring the composting process   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
Dehydrogenase enzymatic activity was determined to monitor the biological activity in a composting process of organic fraction of municipal solid waste. Dehydrogenase activity is proposed as a method to describe the biological activity of the thermophilic and mesophilic stages of composting. The maximum dehydrogenase activity was detected at the end of the thermophilic stage of composting, with values within 0.5-0.7mgg dry matter(-1)h(-1). Also, dehydrogenase activity can be correlated to static respiration index during the maturation mesophilic stage.  相似文献
