We used nine pairs of competing Drosophila melanogaster and Drosophila simulans populations to test three hypotheses. (1) Weaker competitors undergo greater evolutionary increases in competitive ability, compared with stronger ones. (2) Increased competitive ability against a specific competitor population causes a correlated increase in competitive ability against other competitor populations. (3) In a novel environment, adaptation to the abiotic environment contributes more to competitive ability than adaptation to the competitor population. After 11 generations of competition, initially weaker competitor populations showed relatively greater increases in competitive ability. Broad and specific competitive abilities, the latter being specific to a particular competitor population, were positively correlated in both familiar and novel environments. Adaptation to the abiotic environment seemed to be a more important component of competitive ability in the novel environments. We conclude that in geographically structured species, biotic and abiotic factors affecting the evolution of competitive ability may interact to help create a mosaic of outcomes that can affect the evolutionary dynamics of the interaction over the range of the competing species.  相似文献

对于非捕食 被捕食(食饵)生态系统,强弱物种之间存在一定的竞争影响.在不考虑栖息地毁坏的情况下,引进双向竞争机制,将Tilman的单向竞争模式推广为n集合种群双向竞争模型,并对6-集合种群的竞争动态进行了计算机模拟研究.结果表明,在平衡态,种群竞争共存的条件是其竞争能力与扩散能力呈现指数型负相关关系,竞争的结果使物种的强弱序列发生变化;物种竞争排除与共存受迁移扩散能力和竞争能力影响很大,在局域斑块上竞争排斥的集合种群在广域尺度上可以竞争共存,即逃亡共存.  相似文献

Summary Genetic effects for varietal value are defined at the level of the population of k-parent synthetic varieties. A simple expression for the total variance among synthetics arises directly from these definitions. A general expression for the covariance among related synthetics is given. Genetic effects are also defined in a completely general way so as to allow for any system of testing and used to derive an expression for the genetic advance in recurrent selection for varietal value. Covariances between relatives evaluated in the system of testing and in varietal combination are introduced, allowing a direct expression of the genetic advance in varietal development when parents are selected either individually or in groups. 目的研究雌雄树鼩空间学习和记忆能力的差异。方法随机选择自繁F1代树鼩20只(雄11只,雌9只),在相同条件下进行8 d的水迷宫实验,包括前7 d的定位航行实验和第8天的空间探索实验。结果定位航行实验中雌雄逃避潜伏期、游泳总路程差异无显著性(P〉0.05),但不同时间水平差异有显著性(P〈0.05);平均游泳速度雌雄差异无显著性(P〉0.05)。空间探索实验中目标象限游泳时间和总时间之比、目标象限游泳路程和总路程之比雌雄差异无显著性(P〉0.05);穿越目标象限次数和搜索策略雌雄差异有显著性(P〈0.05)。结论水迷宫实验中树鼩在空间学习能力上雌雄无差异,但在空间探索实验中雄性的表现优于雌性。  相似文献

研究了22℃、16℃两个温境、实验室系统中长刺潘、短腹平直潘、多刺裸腹潘、透明潘4种枝角类对于小球藻及铜绿微囊藻混合藻液的牧食能力及其在恒定光照条件下的净水能力。结果显示:4种枝角类在藻液初始吸光度大于0.160的情况下均可使藻液浓度下降,其摄食速度随藻类生物量增加而增加,当藻类生物量超过饱和值时,摄食速度随之下降。徐州长刺潘牧食及净水能力最强,在底泥背景下滇池短腹平直澄摄食及净水能力有所增强,透明潘摄食净水能力差,多刺裸腹潘在处理后期自身的排泄物会污染水体。  相似文献

本文利用属性集合来定义物种,对于同一物种中的不同个体,各种属性所表现出的强度不同,导致了个体之间的差异性.对一个物种而言,它具有的某方面功能是由物种的不同属性体现于这方面的能力所共同决定的.本文对具有环状捕食结构的三物种构成的生态系统,以各物种的每个属性对和捕食逃逸能力的贡献方式为基础,将属性分为四类.讨论了四类属性随时间的演化规律.从所得的结果发现,随着时间的延伸,三物种可以稳定的共存;另外,对物种捕食和逃逸有利的属性在平均意义下是进化的,而对捕食和逃逸无作用的属性却无法被淘汰.  相似文献

Summary Five Hawaiian commercial sugarcane (Saccharum sp. hybrids) clones were crossed in a full diallel. Four morphological characters were studied in the progeny: number of millable stalks per plant, stalk diameter, stalk length, and sucrose content. A fifth character, plant volume, was calculated from stalk number, stalk diameter and stalk length. The five selected parental clones were treated as fixed variables in the analysis. General combining ability (gca) was significant for all five characters; specific combining ability (sca) was significant for stalk diameter, stalk length, and plant volume. The variance for gca was large in all progeny populations. However, the variance for sca was large in the progeny of only some clones and/or for some individual characters. Parents were evaluated on the basis of their general combining ability: clone H49-3533 had high gca for sucrose content, while clone H53-5356 had high gca for plant vigor.Published with the approval of the Director as Journal Series Paper No. 455, Experiment Station, Hawaiian Sugar Planters' Association.  相似文献

物种竞争是影响生态系统演化的重要生态过程之一.而物种在受人类影响出现不同程度毁坏的栖息地上的演化又是非常复杂的,因此研究物种演化对栖息地毁坏的响应是非常必要的.在Tilman研究工作的基础上,将竞争系数引入集合种群动力模式,建立了多物种集合种群竞争共存的数学模型,并对5-物种集合种群在不同栖息地状态下的竞争动态进行了计算机模拟研究.结果表明:(1)不同结构的群落(q值不同),物种之间的竞争排斥作用强度不同,优势物种明显的群落,物种之间的排斥强度大;(2)随着栖息地毁坏程度的增加,对优势物种的负面影响逐渐减小,而对弱势物种的负面影响逐渐增加;(3)随着栖息地恢复幅度的增加,优势物种和弱势物种之间的竞争越强烈,优势物种受到的竞争排斥加大,而弱势物种逐渐变强,出现了强者变弱、弱者变强的格局;(4)物种竞争排斥与共存受迁移扩散能力和竞争能力影响很大,竞争共存的条件是其竞争能力与扩散能力呈非线性负相关关系;(5)竞争共存的物种的强弱序列发生了变化.  相似文献

Antioxidant properties of chitosan from crab shells   总被引:2,自引:2,他引:0  
Crab chitosan was prepared by alkaline N-deacetylation of crab chitin for 60, 90 and 120 min and its antioxidant properties studied. Chitosan exhibited showed antioxidant activities of 58.3–70.2% at 1 mg/mL and showed reducing powers of 0.32–0.44 at 10 mg/mL. At 10 mg/mL, the scavenging ability of chitosan C60 on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radicals was 28.4% whereas those of other chitosans were 46.4–52.3%. At 0.1 mg/mL, scavenging abilities on hydroxyl radicals were 62.3–77.6% whereas at 1 mg/mL, chelating abilities on ferrous ions were 82.9–96.5%. All EC50 values of antioxidant activity were below 1.5 mg/mL. With regard to antioxidant properties assayed, the effectiveness of chitosans C60, C90 and C120 correlated with their N-deacetylation times. Overall, crab chitosan was good in antioxidant activity, scavenging ability on hydroxyl radicals and chelating abilities on ferrous ions and may be used as a source of antioxidants, as a possible food supplement or ingredient in the pharmaceutical industry.  相似文献

Summary Intergametophytic influences on pollen competitive ability were studied by means of the pollen mixture technique: mixtures of pollen from different genetic sources, marked for the presence of the normal or the mutant allele of the opaque-2 gene, were used to pollinate o2o2 female plants. The variation of relative frequency of one of the two kernel types from apex to base of the resulting ear, made it possible to measure the competitive ability by regression coefficients.The effect of the pollen marker on the character was estimated by analyzing the progeny of heterozygous o2/+ plants self-pollinated through four generations. The o2 allele-bearing pollen revealed a slower germination rate than the dominant counterpart; no differences between the two pollen types were observed with regard to tube growth rate.The occurrence of intergametophytic interactions was confirmed: the competitive ability of a line varied according to the genotype of the competing pollen. Thus, this component has to be taken into account in considering male gametophyte fertilization ability.  相似文献

依据田间试验和室内生化分析数据,按pxq交配模式,对10个冬小麦亲本25个杂交组合F1的蛋白质含量,赖氨酸含量,穗粒重和千粒重的一般配合力和特殊配合力效应进行了分析。结果表明,除蛋白质含量的sca外,其余性状的gca和sca效应均达极显著水平,表明在本研究中,基因的加性效应和非加性效应均起重要作用。由于一般配合力差δ^2sca大,表明基因的加性效应更加重要。根据gca,sca和δ^2sca估值,分  相似文献

This paper aims to discover the genetic parameters underlying the physiological efficiency and panicle characters of hill rice plants. In order to improve these characters, it is crucial to learn the nature and magnitude of gene action involved in inheritance of panicle and physiological traits. With this purpose, we combined a line × tester analysis of crosses involving local cultivars and indigenous and exotic germplasm grown at the northeastern hill region of India. From the study it follows that number of tillers per hill, number of ear bearing tillers per hill, panicle length, panicle weight, number of grains per panicle, number of filled grains per panicle, pollen fertility, spikelet fertility, leaf area index, total chlorophyll content and harvest index were mainly under the control of non-additive gene action, while total dry matter accumulation and grain yield per plant were under the control of additive gene action. The genotypes DR 92, Ngoba, IET 16451 and UPR 1425-1-1-4 were identified as superior parents with high performance and significant general combining ability effects. For heterosis breeding six cross combinations, viz., DR 92/IET 16471, DR 92/UPR 1425-1-1-4, DR 92/IET 15482, Ngoba/IET 16469, Ngoba/H274-27-24, Manipuri/IET 16451, and for recombination breeding two cross combinations, viz., DR 92/IET 16470 and Ngoba/UPR 1425- 1-1-4, were found suitable to ameliorate the panicle and physiological traits of hill rice grown in northeastern India.  相似文献
