Potassium fluoro‐phosphate (KFP) glass singly doped with different concentrations of europium (Eu3+) or samarium (Sm3+) or co‐doped (Sm3+/Eu3+) was prepared, and their luminescence spectra were investigated. The phase composition of the product was verified by X‐ray diffraction analysis. Optical transition properties of Eu3+ in the studied potassium phosphate glass were evaluated in the framework of the Judd–Ofelt theory. The radiative transition rates (AR), fluorescence branching ratios (β), stimulated emission cross‐sections (σe) and lifetimes (τexp) for certain transitions or levels were evaluated. Red emission of Eu3+ was exhibited mainly by the 5D0→7F2 transition located at 612 nm. Concentration quenching and energy transfer were observed from fluorescence spectra and decay curves, respectively. It was found that the lifetimes of the 5D0 level increased with increase in concentration and then decreased. By co‐doping with Sm3+, energy transfer from Sm3+ to Eu3+ occurred and contributed to the enhancement in emission intensity. Intense orange‐red light emission was obtained upon sensitizing with Sm3+ in KFP glass. This approach shows significant promise for use in reddish‐orange lighting applications. The optimized properties of the Sm3+/Eu3+ co‐doped potassium phosphate glass might be promising for optical materials. 相似文献

Structural and luminescence properties of Sm3+‐doped bismuth phosphate glass for orange‐red photonic applications 下载免费PDF全文
In the present study, the effect of bismuth oxide (Bi2O3) content on the structural and optical properties of 0.5Sm3+‐doped phosphate glass and the effect of concentration on structural and optical properties of Sm3+‐doped bismuth phosphate (BiP) glass were studied. Structural characterization was accomplished using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and 31P nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. Optical properties were studied using absorption, photoluminescence and decay measurements. Using optical absorption spectra, Judd–Ofelt parameters were derived to determine the local structure and bonding in the vicinity of Sm3+ ions. The emission spectra of Sm3+‐doped BiP glass showed two intense emission bands, 4G5/2→6H7/2 (orange) and 4G5/2→6H9/2 (red) for which the stimulated emission cross‐sections (σe) and branching ratios (β) were found to be higher. The quantum efficiencies were also calculated from decay measurements recorded for the 4G5/2 level of Sm3+ ions. The suitable combination of Bi2O3 (10 mol%) and Sm3+ (0.5 mol%) ions in these glasses acted as an efficient lasing material and might be suitable for the development of visible orange‐red photonic materials. 相似文献

Luminescent properties of single‐phase Ba2‐x‐1.5y‐1.5zP2O7:xEu2+,yCe3+, zTb3+ phosphors for white light‐emitting diode 下载免费PDF全文
A series of Ba2P2O7:xEu2+,yCe3+,zTb3+ phosphors was synthesized via a co‐precipitation method, then their crystal structure, quantum efficiency and luminescent properties were analyzed by XRD and FL, respectively. The results showed that these phosphors not only presented the excitation characteristics of Ba2P2O7:xEu2+,zTb3+, but also exhibited that of the Ba2P2O7:yCe3+,zTb3+ phosphor. Meanwhile, the tri‐doped phosphor showed a stronger absorption around 320 nm in contrast with the Eu2+/Ce3+:Tb3+ co‐doped phosphor. Not only can energy transfer from Ce3+→Eu2+ be observed; the energy transfer mechanism from Eu2+ to Tb3+ is discussed in the tri‐doped system. Ce3+ affects the luminescence properties of Ba2P2O7:xEu2+,yCe3+,zTb3+ phosphors just as the sensitizer whereas Eu2+ is considered both as the sensitizer and the activator. The chromaticity coordinates of tri‐doped phosphors excited at 320 nm stayed steadily in the bluish‐white light region, and the emitted color and color temperature (CCT) of these phosphors could be tuned by adjusting the relative contents of Eu2+, Ce3+ and Tb3+. Hence, the single phase Ba2P2O7:xEu2+,yCe3+,zTb3+ phosphors may be considered as potential candidates for white light‐emitting diodes. 相似文献

Ba3Al2O5Cl2:Eu2+ phosphor was prepared by combustion synthesis (CS). The prepared phosphor was excited at 329 nm; the phosphors shows an efficient bluish‐green wide‐band emission centred at 490 nm, which originates from the 4f6d1 → 4f7 transition of Eu2+ ions. The excitation spectra of the phosphors have a band centred at 329 nm. It was also characterized by XRD, FT–IR for confirmation of phase purity, and FT–IR analysis indicated the vibrations of metal–oxygen (M–O) groups. SEM shows the morphology of the phosphor at the submicron scale. The results indicate that Ba3Al2O5Cl2:Eu2+ phosphor may be applicable for solid‐state lighting purposes. KNaSO4 microphosphor doped with Ce,Gd and Ce,Tb and prepared by a wet chemical method was studied using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminescence (PL) characterization. KNaSO4 has a 5‐µm particle size detected by SEM. KNaSO4:Ce3+,Tb3+ showed blue and green emission (at 494 nm, 557 nm, 590 nm) of Tb3+ due to 5D4 → 7FJ (J = 4, 5, 6) transitions. KNaSO4:Ce3+,Gd3+ showed luminescence in the ultraviolet (UV) light region at 314 nm for an excitation at 271 nm wavelength. It was observed that efficient energy transfer took place from Ce3+ → Gd3+ and Ce3+ → Tb3+ sublattices indicating that Ce3+ could effectively sensitize Gd3+ or Tb3+ (green emission). Ce3+ emission weakened and Gd3+ or Tb3+ enhanced the emission significantly in KNaSO4. This paper discusses the development and understanding of photoluminescence and the effect of Tb3+ and Gd3+ on KNaSO4:Ce3+. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

Rare‐earth ions play an important role in eco‐friendly solid‐state lighting for the lighting industry. In the present study we were interested in Eu3+ ion‐doped inorganic phosphors for near ultraviolet (UV) excited light‐emitting diode (LED) applications. Eu3+ ion‐activated SrYAl3O7 phosphors were prepared using a solution combustion route at 550°C. Photoluminescence characterization of SrYAl3O7:Eu3+ phosphors showed a 612 nm emission peak in the red region of the spectrum due to the 5D0→7F2 transition of Eu3+ ions under excitation at 395 nm in the near‐UV region and at the 466 nm blue excitation wavelength. These red and blue emissions are supported for white light generation for LED lighting. Structure, bonding between each element of the sample and morphology of the sample were analysed using X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), which showed that the samples were crystallized in a well known structure. The phosphor was irradiated with a 60Co‐γ (gamma) source at a dose rate of 7.2 kGy/h. Thermoluminescence (TL) studies of these Eu3+‐doped SrYAl3O7 phosphors were performed using a Nucleonix TL 1009I TL reader. Trapping parameters of this phosphor such as activation energy (E), order of kinetics (b) and frequency factor (s) were calculated using Chen's peak shape method, the initial rise method and Ilich's method. 相似文献

The spectroscopic and photoluminescence characteristics of trivalent dysprosium (Dy3+)‐doped Sr0.5Ca0.5TiO3 phosphor materials synthesized via solid‐state reaction method were studied. The X‐ray diffraction profile confirmed the orthorhombic perovskite structure of the prepared samples. Judd–Ofelt analysis was carried out to obtain the intensity parameters and predicted radiative properties of Sr0.5Ca0.5TiO3:2wt%Dy3+. The photoluminescence spectrum of Dy3+‐doped Sr0.5Ca0.5TiO3 showed three emission peaks at 481, 574 and 638 nm corresponding to 4F9/2→6H15/2, 4F9/2→6H13/2 and 4F9/2→6H11/2 transitions respectively. The variation of luminescence intensity with different excitation wavelengths and Dy3+ concentrations is discussed. The decay profiles of 4F9/2 excited levels of Dy3+ ions show bi‐exponential behaviour and also a decrease in average lifetime with increase in Dy3+ concentration. Yellow to blue luminescence intensity ratio, CIE chromaticity co‐ordinates and correlated color temperature were also calculated for different concentrations of Dy3+‐doped Sr0.5Ca0.5TiO3 phosphor at different λex. The MgO–Ga2O3–SiO2 glasses and glass‐ceramics samples doped with Eu2+/Mn2+/Er3+ and heated in reductive atmosphere were prepared by the sol–gel method. The structure, morphology and the luminescence properties were studied using X‐ray diffraction, high‐resolution transmission electron microscope, fluorescence spectra, and up‐conversion emission. The luminescence characteristics of doped ions could be influenced by temperature and matrix component. The characteristic emission of Mn2+, Eu2+ and Er3+ were seen and the energy transfer efficiency from Eu2+ to Mn2+ was enhanced as Mn2+ concentration was increased. In addition, the two‐photon process was determined for the Er3+‐doped samples. 相似文献

Photoluminescence and thermoluminescence properties of Eu2+ doped and Eu2+,Dy3+ co‐doped Ba2MgSi2O7 phosphors 下载免费PDF全文
In this work, we report the preparation, characterization, comparison and luminescence mechanisms of Eu2+‐doped and Eu2+,Dy3+‐co‐doped Ba2MgSi2O7 (BMSO) phosphors. Prepared phosphors were synthesized via a high temperature solid‐state reaction method. All prepared phosphors appeared white. The phase structure, particle size, and elemental analysis were analyzed using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy‐dispersive X‐ray (EDX) analysis. The luminescence properties of the phosphors were investigated by thermoluminescence (TL) and photoluminescence (PL). The PL excitation and emission spectra of Ba2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ showed the peak to be around 381 nm and 490 nm respectively. The PL excitation spectrum of Ba2MgSi2O7:Eu2+Dy3+ showed the peak to be around 341 nm and 388 nm, and the emission spectrum had a broad band around 488 nm. These emissions originated from the 4f6 5d1 to 4f7 transition of Eu2+. TL analysis revealed that the maximum TL intensity was found at 5 mol% of Eu2+ doping in Ba2MgSi2O7 phosphors after 15 min of ultraviolet (UV) light exposure. TL intensity was increased when Dy3+ ions were co‐doped in Ba2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ and maximum TL intensity was observed for 2 mol% of Dy3+. TL emission spectra of Ba1.95MgSi2O7:0.05Eu2+ and Ba1.93MgSi2O7:0.05Eu2+,0.02Dy3+ phosphors were found at 500 nm. TL intensity increased with UV exposure time up to 15 min, then decreased for the higher UV radiation dose for both Eu doping and Eu,Dy co‐doping. The trap depths were calculated to be 0.54 eV for Ba1.95MgSi2O7:0.05Eu2+ and 0.54 eV and 0.75 eV for Ba1.93MgSi2O7:0.05Eu2+,0.02Dy3+ phosphors. It was observed that co‐doping with small amounts of Dy3+ enhanced the thermoluminescence properties of Ba2MgSi2O7 phosphor. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. An inorganic NaMgSO4F fluoride material was prepared by the wet chemical method and studied for its photoluminescence (PL) and resonant–non‐resonant energy transfer (RET and NORET) capabilities between Ce3+ → Tb3+, Ce3+ → Eu3+ and Ce3+ → Dy3+ rare earth ions. The Tb3+ emission for Ce3+ → Tb3+ transfers under ultraviolet (UV) wavelengths peaked at 491, 547, and 586 nm, for excitation at 308 nm due to 5D4 → 7FJ (J = 4, 5, 6) transitions. Eu emission spectra were observed at 440 nm (Eu2+), 593 nm and 616 nm (Eu3+) recorded for different concentrations of materials, whereas Dy3+ emission from Ce3+ → Dy3+ transfer under UV wavelengths peaked at 485 nm and 577 nm due to 4F9/2 → 6H15/2 and 6H13/2 transitions. The purpose of the present study is to understand the RET and NORET effects of Tb3+, Eu3+ and Dy3+ co‐doping in a NaMgSO4F:Ce3+ luminescent material, which could be used as a green‐emitting material for lamp phosphors. 相似文献

LaBSiO5 phosphors doped with Ce3+ and Tb3+ were synthesized using the conventional solid‐state method at 1100 °C. The phase purity and luminescent properties of these phosphors are investigated. LaBSiO5:Tb3+ phosphors show intense green emission, and LaBSiO5 phosphors doped with Ce3+ show blue–violet emission under UV light excitation. LaBSiO5 phosphors co‐doped with Ce3+ and Tb3+ exhibit blue–violet and green emission under excitation by UV light. The blue–violet emission is due to the 5d–4f transition of Ce3+ and the green emission is ascribed to the 5D4 → 7 F5 transition of Tb3+. The spectral overlap between the excitation band of Tb3+ and the emission band of Ce3+ supports the occurrence of energy transfer from Ce3+ to Tb3+, and the energy transfer process was investigated. Eu3+‐activated Y(P,V)O4 phosphors were prepared by the EDTA sol‐gel method, and the corresponding morphologies and luminescent properties were investigated. The sample particles were relatively spheroid with size of 2–3 µm and had a smooth surface. The excitation spectra for Y(P,V)O4:Eu3+ consisted of three strong excitation bands in the 200–350 nm range, which were attributed to a Eu3+‐ O2? charge‐transfer band and 1A1?1 T1/1 T2 transitions in VO43?. The as‐synthesized phosphors exhibited a highly efficient red luminescence at 613 nm due to the Eu3+ 5D0?7 F2 electric dipole transition. With the increase in the V5+/P5+ ratio, the luminescence intensity of the red phosphor under UV excitation was greatly improved due to enhanced VO43? → Eu3+ energy transfer. In this paper, the Eu3+–Eu2+ (4%, molar ratio)‐doped xAl2O3–ySiO2 (x = 0–2.5, y = 1–5) and xAl2O3–zMgO (x = 0–1.5, z = 0–3) composites phosphors with different Al2O3 to SiO2 (A/S) and Al2O3 to MgO (A/M) ratios were prepared using a high‐temperature solid‐state reaction under air atmosphere. The effects of the A/S and A/M on luminescence properties, crystal structure, electron spin resonance, and Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage chromaticity coordinates of the samples were systematically analyzed. These results indicated that the different A/S and A/M ratios in the matrix effectively affected the crystal phase, degrees of self‐reduction of Eu3+, and led the relative emission intensity of Eu2+/Eu3+ to change and adjust. 相似文献

Sr3MgSi2O8:Ce3+, Dy3+ phosphors were prepared by a solid‐state reaction technique and the photoluminescence properties were investigated. The emission spectra show not only a band due to Ce3+ ions (403 nm) but also as a band due to Dy3+ ions (480, 575 nm) (UV light excitation). The photoluminescence properties reveal that effective energy transfer occurs in Ce3+/Dy3+ co‐doped Sr3MgSi2O8 phosphors, and the co‐doping of Ce3+ could enhance the emission intensity of Dy3+ to a certain extent by transferring its energy to Dy3+. The Ce3+/Dy3+ energy transfer was investigated by emission/excitation spectra, and photoluminescence decay behaviors. In Sr2.94MgSi2O8:0.01Ce3+, 0.05Dy3+ phosphors, the fluorescence lifetime of Dy3+ (from 3.35 to 27.59 ns) is increased whereas that of Ce3+ is greatly decreased (from 43.59 to 13.55 ns), and this provides indirect evidence of the Ce3+ to Dy3+ energy transfer. The varied emitted color of Sr3MgSi2O8:Ce3+, Dy3+ phosphors from blue to white were achieved by altering the concentration ratio of Ce3+ and Dy3+. These results indicate Sr3MgSi2O8:Ce3+, Dy3+ may be as a candidate phosphor for white light‐emitting diodes. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

Synthesis and luminescence of Eu3+‐doped in triple phosphate Ca8MgBi(PO4)7 with whitlockite structure 下载免费PDF全文
Triple whitlockite‐type structure‐based red phosphors Ca8MgBi1?x(PO4)7:xEu3+ (x = 0.10, 0.20, 0.30, 0.40, 0.50, 0.60, 0.70, 0.80 and 1.00) were synthesized by a conventional solid‐state reaction route and characterized by their X‐ray crystal structures. The X‐ray diffraction (XRD) patterns, Fourier transform infrared spectra, morphologies, photoluminescence spectra, UV/Vis reflectance spectra, decay times and the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) chromaticity coordinates of Ca8MgBi1?x(PO4)7:xEu3+ were analyzed. Eu‐doped Ca8MgBi(PO4)7 phosphors exhibited strong red luminescence with peaks at 616 nm due to the 5D0 → 7 F2 electric dipole transition of Eu3+ ions after excitation at 396 nm. The UV/Vis spectra indicated that the band gap of Ca8MgBi0.30(PO4)7:0.70Eu3+ is larger than that of Ca8MgBi(PO4)7. The phosphor developed in this study has great potential as a red‐light‐emitting phosphor for UV light‐emitting diodes. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

The spectroscopic properties of Tellurium Calcium Zinc Niobium oxide Borate (TCZNB) glasses of composition (in mol%) 10TeO2 + 15CaO + 5ZnO + 10 Nb2O5 + (60 – x)B2O3 + Nd2O3 (x = 0.1, 0.5, 1.0 or 1.5 mol%) have been investigated experimentally. The three phenomenological intensity parameters Ω2, Ω4, Ω6 have been calculated using the Judd–Ofelt theory and in turn radiative properties such as radiative transition probabilities, emission cross‐sections, branching ratios and radiative lifetimes have been estimated. The trend found in the JO intensity parameter is Ω2 > Ω6 > Ω4 If Ω6 > Ω4, the glass system is favourable for the laser emission 4F3/2 → 4I11/2 in the infrared (IR) wavelength. The experimental values of branching ratio of 4F3/2 → 4I11/2 transition indicate favourable lasing action with low threshold power. The evaluated total radiative transition probabilities (AT), stimulated emission cross‐section (σe) and gain bandwidth parameters (σe × Δλp) were compared with earlier reports. An energy level analysis has been carried out considering the experimental energy positions of the absorption and emission bands. 相似文献

Luminescent nanoparticles of Y2O3 doped with europium (Eu) and/or titanium (Ti) were synthesized using modified sol–gel routes. The crystalline cubic phase was confirmed using X‐ray powder diffraction (XRD). Particle morphology and size were evaluated using scanning and transmission electron microscopy. High‐resolution transmission electron microscopy showed that the synthesis method affected the average particle size and the Fourier transform of the images showed the lattice plane distances, indicating that the samples presented high crystallinity degree in accordance with the XRD pattern. The Ti valence was investigated using X‐ray absorption near edge spectroscopy and the tetravalent form was the dominant oxidizing state in the samples, mainly in Eu and Ti co‐doped Y2O3. Optical behaviour was investigated through X‐ray excited optical luminescence and photoluminescence under ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) and vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) excitation. Results indicated that Eu3+ is the emitting centre in samples doped with only Eu and with both Eu and Ti with the 5D0→7F2 transition as the most intense, indicating Eu3+ in a noncentrosymmetric site. Finally, in the Eu,Ti‐doped Y2O3 system, Ti3+ (or TiIV) excitation was observed but no Ti emission was present, indicating a very efficient energy transfer process from Ti to Eu3+. These results can aid the development of efficient nanomaterials, activated using UV, VUV, or X‐rays. 相似文献

Ce3+/Tb3+ non‐/single‐/co‐doped K‐Lu‐F materials: synthesis,optical properties,and energy transfer 下载免费PDF全文
Using a hydrothermal method, Ce3+/Tb3+ non‐/single‐/co‐doped K‐Lu‐F materials have been synthesized. The X‐ray diffraction (XRD) results suggest that the Ce3+ and/or Tb3+ doping had great effects on the crystalline phases of the final samples. The field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE‐SEM) images indicated that the samples were in hexagonal disk or polyhedron morphologies in addition to some nanoparticles, which also indicated that the doping also had great effects on the sizes and the morphologies of the samples. The energy‐dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) patterns illustrated the constituents of different samples. The enhanced emissions of Tb3+ were observed in the Ce3+/Tb3+ co‐doped K‐Lu‐F materials. The energy transfer (ET) efficiency ηT were calculated based on the fluorescence yield. The ET mechanism from Ce3+ to Tb3+ was confirmed to be the dipole–quadrupole interaction inferred from the theoretical analysis and the experimental data. Luminescent properties of Ca3SiO4Cl2 co‐doped with Ce3+ and Eu2+ for near‐ultraviolet light‐emitting diodes 下载免费PDF全文
Ca3SiO4Cl2 co‐doped with Ce3+,Eu2+ was prepared by high temperature reaction. The structure, luminescent properties and the energy transfer process of Ca3SiO4Cl2: Ce3+,Eu2+ were investigated. Eu2+ ions can give enhanced green emission through Ce3+ → Eu2+ energy transfer in these phosphors. The green phosphor Ca2.9775SiO4Cl2:0.0045Ce3+,0.018Eu2+ showed intense green emission with broader excitation in the near‐ultraviolet light range. A green light‐emitting diode (LED) based on this phosphor was made, and bright green light from this green LED could be observed by the naked eye under 20 mA current excitation. Hence it is considered to be a good candidate for the green component of a three‐band white LED. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

M5(PO4)3 F:Eu2+ (M = Ca and Ba) co‐doped with Ce3+ phosphors were successfully prepared by the combustion synthesis method. The introduction of co‐dopant (Ce3+) into the host enhanced the luminescent intensity of the M5(PO4)3 F:Eu2+ (M = Ca and Ba) efficiently. Previously, we have reported the synthesis and photoluminescence properties of same phosphors. The aim of this article is to report energy transfer mechanism between Ce3+?Eu2+ ions in M5(PO4)3 F:Eu2+ (M = Ca and Ba) phosphors, where Ce3+ ions act as sensitizers and Eu2+ ions act as activators. The M5(PO4)3 F:Eu2+ (M = Ca and Ba) co‐doped with Ce3+ phosphor exhibits great potential for use in white ultraviolet (UV) light‐emitting diode applications to serve as a single‐phased phosphor that can be pumped with near‐UV or UV light‐emitting diodes.
