In this paper, the photoluminescence properties of Eu2+‐activated greenish‐blue‐emitting halophosphate phosphor Na5Ca4(PO4)4F were studied to estimate electron–vibrational interaction (EVI) parameters such as the Huang–Rhys factor, effective phonon energy, Stokes shift and zero phonon line (ZPL) position for various concentrations of dopant. The validity of the results was established by modeling the emission spectra, which was found to be in good agreement with the experimental photoluminescence spectra. Eu3+–β‐diketonate complexes are used, for example, in solid‐state lighting (SSL) or light‐converting molecular devices. However, their low emission quantum efficiency due to water molecules coordinated to Eu3+ and low photostability are still problems to be addressed. To overcome such challenges, we synthesized Eu3+ tetrakis complexes based on [Q][Eu(tfaa)4] and [Q][Eu(dbm)4] (Q1 = C26H56N+, Q2 = C19H42N+, and Q3 = C17H38N+), replacing the water molecules in the tris stoichiometry. The tetrakis β‐diketonates showed desirable thermal stability for SSL and, under excitation at 390 nm, they displayed the characteristic Eu3+ emission in the red spectral region. The quantum efficiencies of the dbm complexes achieved values as high as 51%, while the tfaa complexes exhibited lower quantum efficiencies (28–33%), but which were superior to those reported for the tris complexes. The structures were evaluated using the Sparkle/PM7 model and comparing the theoretical and the experimental Judd–Ofelt parameters. [Q1][Eu(dbm)4] was used to coat a near‐UV light‐emitting diode (LED), producing a red‐emitting LED prototype that featured the characteristic emission spectrum of [Q1][Eu(dbm)4]. The emission intensity of this prototype decreased only 7% after 30 h, confirming its high photostability, which is a notable result considering Eu3+ complexes, making it a potential candidate for SSL.  相似文献

The spectroscopic properties of Tellurium Calcium Zinc Niobium oxide Borate (TCZNB) glasses of composition (in mol%) 10TeO2 + 15CaO + 5ZnO + 10 Nb2O5 + (60 – x)B2O3 + Nd2O3 (x = 0.1, 0.5, 1.0 or 1.5 mol%) have been investigated experimentally. The three phenomenological intensity parameters Ω2, Ω4, Ω6 have been calculated using the Judd–Ofelt theory and in turn radiative properties such as radiative transition probabilities, emission cross‐sections, branching ratios and radiative lifetimes have been estimated. The trend found in the JO intensity parameter is Ω2 > Ω6 > Ω4 If Ω6 > Ω4, the glass system is favourable for the laser emission 4F3/2 → 4I11/2 in the infrared (IR) wavelength. The experimental values of branching ratio of 4F3/2 → 4I11/2 transition indicate favourable lasing action with low threshold power. The evaluated total radiative transition probabilities (AT), stimulated emission cross‐section (σe) and gain bandwidth parameters (σe × Δλp) were compared with earlier reports. An energy level analysis has been carried out considering the experimental energy positions of the absorption and emission bands.  相似文献

Cr3+‐doped Y2O3 (0.5–9 mol%) was synthesized by a simple solution combustion method using Aloe vera gel as a fuel/surfactant. The final obtained product was calcined at 750°C for 3 h, which is the lowest temperature reported so far for the synthesis of this compound. The calcined product was confirmed for its crystallinity and purity by powder X‐ray diffraction (PXRD) studies which showed a single‐phase nano cubic phosphor. The particles size estimated by Scherrer formula was in the range of 6–19 nm. The UV–vis spectra showed absorption bands at 198, 272 and 372 nm having band gap energy in the range 4.00–4.26 eV. In order to investigate the possibility of its use in white light emitting display applications, the photoluminescence properties of Cr3+‐doped Y2O3 nanophosphors were studied at an excitation wavelength in the near ultraviolet (UV) light region (361 nm). The emission spectra consisted of emission peaks in the blue (4F9/2 → 6H15/2), orange (4F9/2 → 6H13/2) and red (4F9/2 → 6H11/2) regions. The CIE coordinates (0.33, 0.33) lie in the white light region. Hence Y2O3:Cr3+ can be used for white light‐emitting diode (LED) applications.  相似文献

Lanthanide (Ln) fluorides are considered exceptional luminescent rigid host matrices for various optical active Ln3+ ions due to their high refractive index, high chemical stability and low phonon energy, leading to the low probability of non‐radiative decay, which results in higher photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) (usually higher than oxide hosts). In this study, Eu3+‐activated Ln fluorides (LnF3:Eu3+–Ln = La, Gd) are synthesized by the hydrothermal method using 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium tertrafluoroborate [BMIBF4] and NH4F as fluorine precursors. The synthesized nanocrystals (NCs) are structurally and morphologically characterized, and their optical properties investigated using spectrofluorometry. The X‐ray diffraction (XRD) patterns of Eu3+‐substituted and ‐unsubstituted LnF3 (prepared from a different fluorine source) are indexed based on the hexagonal and orthorhombic crystal structure, respectively. Average crystalline sizes are calculated using the Scherrer equation and it is found that the synthesized NCs have an average crystalline size of 12–35 nm. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images reveal that the NCs are well dispersed and nearly ellipsoid, with an average size of ~ 5 nm. Eu3+‐activated NCs show characteristic excitation and emission spectra. The emission spectra show both magnetic (5D07F1) and electric (5D07F2) dipole transition with appropriate CIE color coordinates; however, the intensity of the magnetic dipole transition is high, which is in accordance with local site symmetry. Owing to their unique size and excellent optical properties, the synthesized NCs may have potential application in the fields bio‐imaging and solar concentrators. A series of Eu2+‐activated barium orthosilicates (BaZnSiO4) were synthesized using a high‐temperature solid‐state reaction. A photoluminescence excitation study of Eu2+ shows a broad absorption band in the range of 270–450 nm, with multiple absorption peak maxima (310, 350 and 400 nm) due to 4f–5d electronic transition. The emission spectra of all the compositions show green color emission (in the spectral region 450–550 nm with a peak maximum at 502 nm and a shoulder at ~ 490 nm) with appropriate Comission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) color coordinates. The two emission peaks are due to the presence of Eu2+ in two different Ba sites in the BaZnSiO4 host lattice. The energy transfers between the Eu2+ ions in BaZnSiO4 host are elucidated from the critical concentration quenching data based on the electronic multipolar interaction. All Eu2+‐activated BaZnSiO4 phosphor materials can be efficiently excited in the ultraviolet (UV) to near UV‐region (270–420 nm), making them attractive candidate as a green phosphor for solid state lighting–white light‐emitting diodes.  相似文献

The synthesis and initial evaluation of a new dye‐functionalized crown‐ether, 2‐[2‐(2,3,5,6,8,9,11,12,14,15‐decahydro‐1,4,7,10,13,16‐benzohexaoxacyclooctadecin)ethenyl]‐3‐methyl benzothiazolium iodide (denoted BSD), are reported. This molecule contains a benzyl 18‐crown‐6 moiety as the ionophore and a benzothiazolium to spectrally transduce ion binding. Binding of K+ to BSD in methanol causes shifts in the both absorbance and fluorescence emission maxima, as well as changes in the molar absorptivity and the emission intensity. Apparent dissociation constants (Kd) in the range 30–65 µ m were measured. In water and neutral buffer, Kd values were approximately 1 m m . BSD was entrapped in sol–gel films composed of methyltriethoxysilane (MTES) and tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) with retention of its spectral properties and minimal leaching. K+ binding to BSD in sol–gel films immersed in pH 7.4 buffer causes significant fluorescence quenching, with an apparent response time of approximately 2 min and an apparent Kd of 1.5 m m . Nd3+‐doped lead‐free zinc phosphate glasses with the chemical compositions (60‐x) NH4H2PO4 + 20ZnO + 10BaF2 + 10NaF + xNd2O3 (where x = 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 mol%) were prepared using a melt quenching technique. Vibrational bands were assigned and clearly elucidated by Raman spectral profiles for all the glass samples. Judd–Ofelt (J–O) intensity parameters (Ωλ: λ = 2, 4, 6) were obtained from the spectral intensities of different absorption bands of Nd3+ ions. Radiative properties such as radiative transition probabilities (AR), radiative lifetimes (τR) and branching ratios (βR) for different excited states were calculated using J–O parameters. The near infrared (NIR) photoluminescence spectra exhibited three emission bands (4F3/2 level to 4I13/2, 4I11/2 and 4I9/2 states) for all the concentrations of Nd3+ ions. Various luminescence properties were studied by varying the Nd3+ concentration for the three spectral profiles. Fluorescence decay curves of the 4F3/2 level were recorded. The energy transfer mechanism that leads to quenching of the 4F3/2 state lifetimes was discussed at higher concentration of Nd3+ ions. These glasses are suggested as suitable hosts to produce efficient lasing action in NIR region at 1.05 μm.  相似文献

Eu3+‐doped 6LaPO4–3La3PO7–2La7P3O18 red luminescent phosphors were synthesized by co‐deposition and high‐temperature solid‐state methods and its polyphase state was confirmed by X‐ray diffraction analysis. Transmission electron microscopy showed the grain morphology as a mixture of rods and spheres. Luminescence properties of the phosphor were investigated and its red emission parameters were evaluated as a function of Eu3+ concentration (3.00–6.00 mol%). Excitation spectra of 6LaPO4–3La3PO7–2La7P3O18:Eu3+ showed strong absorption bands at 280, 395, and 466 nm, while the luminescence spectra exhibited prominent red emission peak centred at 615 nm (5D07F2) in the red region. CIE chromaticity coordinates of the 6LaPO4–3La3PO7–2La7P3O18:5%Eu3+ phosphor were (0.668, 0.313) in the red region, and defined its potential application as a red phosphor.  相似文献

The LaF3 nanocrystals through a facile hydrothermal route with hexagonal structures have been synthesized via doping of trivalent rare earth (RE3+) ions – RE = Tb, Sm, Dy and Tm – with rod‐like and perforated morphologies using NH4F as fluorine precursor. Hexagonal phase formation was confirmed by powder X‐ray diffraction. The crystalline sizes were calculated by the Scherrer equation where found to have an average crystalline size of 12 to 35 nm. The morphological studies of the nanocrystals were carried out by means of transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The LaF3:Tm3+,Sm3+ ions show the characteristic emission of Tb3+ and Tm3+ respectively. In Sm3+‐doped LaF3, three prominent emission peaks at 561, 597 and 641 nm were found, which belong to 4G5/2 → 6H5/2, 4G5/2 → 6H7/2 (magnetic dipole) and 4G5/2 → 6H9/2 (electric dipole) transitions, respectively. The Dy3+ activated LaF3 shows blue and yellow emission and the corresponding CIE color coordinate show white light emission (CCT value 10650 K).  相似文献

Samples of the Ba9(Lu2‐xYx)Si6O24:Ce3+ (x = 0–2) blue‐green phosphors were synthesized by solid‐state reactions. All the samples exhibited a rhombohedral crystal structure. As the Y3+ concentration increased, the diffraction peaks shifted to the small angle region and the lattice parameters increased due to the larger ionic radius of Y3+ (r = 0.900 Å) compared with that of Lu3+ (r = 0.861 Å). Under 400 nm excitation, samples exhibited strong blue‐green emissions around 490 nm. The emission bands had a slight blue shift that resulted from weak crystal‐field splitting with increasing Y3+ concentration. Luminescence intensity and quantum efficiency (QE) decreased with increasing Y3+ concentration. The internal QE decreased from 74 to 50% and the external QE decreased from 50 to 34% as x increased from 0 to 2. The thermal stability of the Lu series was better than that of the Y‐series. The excitation band peak around 400 nm matched well with the emission light from the efficient near‐ultraviolet (NUV) chip. These results indicate promising applications for these NUV‐based white light‐emitting diodes.  相似文献

An redox luminescence switch was developed for the sensing of glutathione (GSH), l ‐cysteine (Cys) or l ‐ascorbic acid (AA) based on redox reaction. The Mn2+‐doped NaYF4:Yb,Er upconversion nanorods (UCNRs) with an emission peak located in the red region were synthesized. The luminescence intensity of the UCNRs could be quenched due to the Mn2+ could be oxidized to MnO2 by KMnO4. Subsequently, when the AA, GSH or Cys was added into the MnO2 modified upconversion nanosystem, which could reduced MnO2 to Mn2+ and the luminescence intensity was recovered. The concentration ranges of the nanosystem are 0.500–3.375 mM (R2 = 0.99) for AA, 0.6250–11.88 mM (R2 = 0.99) for GSH and 0.6250–9.375 mM (R2 = 0.99) for Cys, respectively.  相似文献

In the present article we report europium‐doped strontium ortho‐silicates, namely Sr2SiO4:xEu3+ (x = 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 or 3.0 mol%) phosphors, prepared by solid state reaction method. The crystal structures of the sintered phosphors were consistent with orthorhombic crystallography with a Pmna space group. The chemical compositions of the sintered phosphors were confirmed by energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDS). Thermoluminescence (TL) kinetic parameters such as activation energy, order of kinetics and frequency factors were calculated by the peak shape method. Orange‐red emission originating from the 5D07FJ (J = 0, 1, 2, 3) transitions of Eu3+ ions could clearly be observed after samples were excited at 395 nm. The combination of these emissions constituted orange‐red light as indicated on the Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) chromaticity diagram. Mechanoluminescence (ML) intensity of the prepared phosphor increased linearly with increasing impact velocity of the moving piston that suggests that these phosphors can also be used as sensors to detect the stress of an object. Thus, the present investigation indicates that the piezo‐electricity was responsible for producing ML in the prepared phosphor.  相似文献

Strontium–aluminium–bismuth–borate glasses (SAlBiB) doped with different concentrations of Ho3+ were prepared using conventional melt quenching technique and their structural and optical properties investigated. X‐ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy analysis were used to study the structural properties. Optical properties were studied by measuring the optical absorption and visible luminescence spectra. The Judd–Ofelt (J‐O) theory was applied to evaluate J‐O intensity parameters, Ωλ (λ = 2, 4 and 6). Using J‐O intensity parameters, radiative properties such as spontaneous transition probabilities (AR), branching ratios (βR) and radiative lifetimes (τR) were determined. From the emission spectra, a strong green emission nearly at 549 nm corresponding to the transition, 5S2(5F4)→5I8 was observed. Emission peak positions (λP), effective bandwidths (Δλeff) and stimulated emission cross‐sections (σp) were calculated for the observed emission transitions, 5F35I8, 5S2(5F4)→5I8 and 5F55I8 of Ho3+ in all the glass matrices. Chromaticity color coordinates were calculated using the emission spectra. The experimental results suggest that SAlBiB glass matrix with 1.5 mol% of Ho3+ has better emission properties. BaO‐B2O3‐P2O5 glasses doped with a fixed concentration of Tb3+ ions and varying concentrations of Al2O3 were synthesized, and the influence of the Al3+ ion concentration on the luminescence efficiency of the green emission of Tb3+ ions was investigated. The optical absorption, excitation, luminescence spectra and fluorescence decay curves of these glasses were recorded at ambient temperature. The emission spectra of terbium ions when excited at 393 nm exhibited two main groups of bands, corresponding to 5D3 → 7Fj (blue region) and 5D4 → 7Fj (green region). From these spectra, the radiative parameters, viz., spontaneous emission probability A, total emission probability AT, radiative lifetime τ and fluorescent branching ratio β, of different transitions originating from the 5D4 level of Tb3+ ions were evaluated based on the Judd‐Ofelt theory. A clear increase in the quantum efficiency and luminescence of the green emission of Tb3+ ions corresponding to 5D4 → 7F5 transition is observed with increases in the concentration of Al2O3 up to 3.0 mol%. The improvement in emission is attributed to the de‐clustering of terbium ions by Al3+ ions and also to the possible admixing of wave functions of opposite parities. The synthesis, spectroscopic properties, and in vitro cytotoxicity activity of a series of various salen‐based triboron complexes have been designed and prepared from hemi‐salen ( L 1 H 3  –  L 4 H 3 ) ligands and BF3·Et2O or BPh3 under simple reaction conditions. The hemi‐salen ( L 1 H 3  –  L 4 H 3 ) ligands and their BF2 or BPh2 chelating triboron complexes were characterized by means of NMR (1H, 13C, 19F, and 11B) spectra, FT‐IR spectra, UV/VIS spectra, fluorescence spectra, mass spectra, melting point, as well as elemental analysis. The triboron [L (1  –  4) (BF 2 ) 3 ] and [L (1  –  4) (BPh 2 ) 3 ] complexes were investigated for their absorption and emission properties, and these complexes are also good chelates towards boron(III) fragments such as BF2 or BPh2 quantum yield in solution reaching up to 38%. The hemi‐salen ( L 1 H 3  –  L 4 H 3 ) ligands and their BF2 or BPh2 chelating triboron complexes were tested for the in vitro anticancer activity against various cancer and normal cells (HeLa, DLD‐1, ECC‐1, PC‐3, PNT‐1A, and CRL‐4010), and it was found that the cell viability of cancer cells was decreased while most of the healthy cells could still be viable. Also, the cytotoxicity studies showed that anticancer activity of hemi‐salen ( L 1 H 3  –  L 4 H 3 ) ligands is higher than that of triboron [L (1  –  4) (BF 2 ) 3 ] and [L (1  –  4) ( BP h 2 ) 3 ] complexes. The hemi‐salen ( L 1 H 3  –  L 4 H 3 ) ligands showing the strongest cytotoxic effect in PC ‐3 cells were found to exhibit anticancer activity with apoptosis by increasing the level of ROS in the PC ‐3 cells.  相似文献

Europium ion (Eu2+) doped Sr2SiO4 phosphors with greenish‐yellow emission were synthesized using microwave‐assisted sintering. The phase structure and photoluminescence (PL) properties of the obtained phosphor samples were investigated. The PL excitation spectra of the Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ phosphors exhibited a broad band in the range of 260 nm to 485 nm with a maximum at 361 nm attributed to the 5f‐4d allowed transition of the Eu2+ ions. Under an excitation at 361 nm, the Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ phosphor exhibited a greenish‐yellow emission peak at 541 nm with an International‐Commission‐on‐Illumination (CIE) chromaticity of (0.3064, 0.4772). The results suggest that the microwave‐assisted sintering method is promising for the synthesis of phosphors owing to the decreased sintering time without the use of additional reductive agents.  相似文献

Europium (Eu3+) and bismuth (Bi3+) co‐activated LiBaBO3 powder phosphors were synthesized by a solid‐state reaction and the structure, particle morphology, optical and photoluminescent properties were investigated. X‐Ray diffraction patterns of the LiBaBO3 phosphors crystallized in a pure monoclinic phase, i.e. there were no secondary phases due to either incidental impurities or undecomposed starting materials. Scanning electron microscopy images showed that the powders were made up of fluffy needle‐like particles that were randomly aligned. The band‐gap of the LiBaBO3 host was estimated to be 3.33 eV from the UV/vis absorption data. Blue emission was observed from the LiBaBO3 host, which is ascribed to self‐activation of the host matrix. In addition, greenish‐blue (493 nm) and red (613 nm) emissions were observed from europium‐doped samples and were attributed to the emissions of Eu2+ and Eu3+, respectively. Furthermore, after codoping with Bi3+, the emission intensity of Eu3+ located at 613 nm was significantly enhanced. From the Commission Internationale de I′Eclairage (CIE) color coordinates, white emission was observed from LiBa1–xBO3:xEu3+ (x = 0.020 and 0.025) phosphor powders with color coordinates of x = 0.368, y = 0.378 and x = 0.376, y = 0.366, respectively.  相似文献

This article reports on the optical characterization of Pr3+‐, Er3+‐ and Nd3+‐doped cadmium lead boro tellurite (CLBT) glasses prepared using the melt quenching method. The visible–near infrared (Vis–NIR) absorption spectra of these glasses were analyzed systematically. On measuring the NIR emission spectra of Er3+:CLBT glasses, a broad emission band centered at 1536 nm (4I13/2 → 4I15/2) was observed, as were three NIR emission bands at 900 nm (4F3/2 → 4I9/2), 1069 nm (4F3/2 → 4I11/2) and 1338 nm (4F3/2 → 4I13/2) from Nd3+:CLBT glasses and an NIR emission band at 1334 nm (1G4 → 3H5) from Pr3+:CLBT glasses at an excitation wavelength (λex) of 514.5 nm (Ar+ laser). Zinc stannate (Zn2SnO4) and Zn2SnO4 codoped with Eu3+ and Ca2+ (ZTO:Eu,Ca) were synthesized by hydrothermal method and characterized with X‐ray diffraction (XRD), energy‐dispersive X‐ray analysis (EDAX), Raman spectrometer, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), ultraviolet‐visible (UV‐vis) and photoluminescence (PL) spectrophotometers. PL analysis of Zn2SnO4 gives broad defect induced emission in the region 500–750 nm. The crystal structure of Zn2SnO4 was retained even with a nominal doping of Eu, Ca and its combination in the Zn2SnO4. The Eu3+ ions were found to occupy the non‐centrosymmetric sites of the Zn2SnO4 and gave emissions at 592, 615 and 702 nm. Zn2SnO4:Eu,Ca showed red emission at 615 nm attributed to the electronic transition from the excited state 5D07F2 of the 4f6 configuration of Eu3+. Nominal codoping of Eu3+ and Ca2+ ions promoted the quenching of orange emission from Eu3+ in Zn2SnO4:Eu,Ca.  相似文献
