Faecal samples from 95 healthy pigs and samples of jejunal content from 85 piglets suffering from colienterotoxaemia were tested for the presence of drug resistant E. coli strains. Practically all pigs in both groups harboured E. coli strains resistant to one or more of the 6 antibiotics/chemotherapeutic agents tested (Oxytetracycline, streptomycin, sulphaisodimidin, neomycin, ampicillin, chloramphenicol). Almost 100% of healthy and approx. 90% of diseased pigs harboured strains resistant to Oxytetracycline, streptomycin and sulphaisodimidin. Pigs with strains resistant to neomycin, ampicillin and chloramphenicol were less frequently found. The predominant coliform flora consisted of E. coli strains” resistant to Oxytetracycline, streptomycin and sulphaisodimidin in 71% to 81% of diseased pigs and in 47% to 69% of the healthy pigs. In diseased pigs ¾ of the animals had a coliform flora dominated by neomycinresistant E. coli strains. Of the 721 resistant E. coli strains isolated from healthy pigs, 11% were single resistant while the corresponding figure for the 518 resistant strains isolated from diseased pigs was 6%. Thus 89% and 94% of strains showed simultaneous resistance to 2 or more antibiotics. E. coli strains resistant to 3 or more drugs were found in approx. 60% and 70% of the isolates from healthy and diseased animals, respectively. Oxytetracycline/streptomycin/sulphaisodimidin resistance was most commonly found, approx. 22% and 38% of the strains from healthy and diseased pigs, respectively, showing this resistance pattern. Transmission of drug resistance which was examined in E. coli strains originating from the diseased pigs was demonstrated in approx. 76% of the isolates. The incidence of drug resistance transfer in single, double, triple and quadruple resistant strains was 11%, 68%, 97% and 98%, respectively.  相似文献

One hundred eighty Escherichia coli strains isolated from raw and cooked dressed beef and from healthy humans were screened for resistance to each of nine antibiotics: chlortetracycline, ampicillin, chloramphenicol, kanamycin, neomycin, nalidixic acid, dihydrostreptomycin, oxytetracycline, and tetracycline. Nearly 80% of the 98 beef isolates and 54% of the 82 human isolates were resistant to one or more of the antibiotics tested. Ampicillin resistance was most frequent among beef isolates, and dihydrostreptomycin resistance was most frequent among isolates of human origin. About 74% of the multiply resistant beef strains and 85% of the multiply resistant human strains transferred all or part of their resistance to E. coli K-12 recipients.  相似文献

Shigella strains isolated in Japan between 1971 and 1979 were surveyed for drug resistance and distribution of R plasmids. Of 2,510 strains, 89.3% were resistant to either one or various combinations of four drugs, tetracycline, chloramphenicol, streptomycin, and sulfanilamide. About 66% of the Shigella isolates were quadruply resistant. The frequency of isolation of R plasmids from quadruply resistant Shigella strains was the highest when compared with other strains resistant to various combinations of the four drugs. The conjugal transferability of 204 quadruply resistant strains isolated between 1977 and 1979 was tested by various mixed-culture methods. Among the total strains examined, 70.6% carried transferable resistance when tested by the conventional broth culture method, 90.2% transferred their resistance when, in addition the replica-plating method was used and 97.5% could transfer their resistance when the membrane filter method was also used. Although the remaining five strains could not transfer their resistance by any of the mixed culture methods, the drug resistance of four of the five strains was mobilized by the concomitant presence of F-tet or T-kan plasmid. These results indicate that almost all of the quadruple resistance in Shigella isolates was mediated by plasmid.  相似文献

Escherichia coli strains isolated from 151 swine and 108 fowl, which were kept at the Animal Health Center, Maebashi, Japan, were surveyed for drug resistance and distribution of R factors. All of the swine and 38% of the fowl excreted E. coli strains resistant to tetracycline, chloramphenicol, streptomycin, and sulfanilamide, or certain combinations thereof. Among 278 resistant cultures isolated from swine, 13% were found to be resistant to one antibiotic, whereas 87% were resistant to more than one antibiotic. Among these resistant strains, 40% carried R factors which were transferable by the usual conjugal process. The resistance patterns of these R factors included 36% which were singly resistant and 64% which were multiply resistant. Among 54 resistant cultures isolated from fowl, 24% were singly resistant and 76% were multiply resistant. Of the resistant strains from fowl, 22% carried R factors. The resistance patterns of R factors included 50% of the singly resistant type and 50% which were multiply resistant. In spite of feeding with dairy products containing only tetracycline, a high incidence of multiple resistance was observed in the E. coli strains and the R factors isolated from these animals.  相似文献

Fecal specimens were collected on 22 different Nebraska ranches and at the Department of Veterinary Science from young calves and pigs with neonatal diarrhea. Enterobacteriaceae isolated from these fecal specimens were screened for resistance to tetracycline, streptomycin, sulfamethizole, kanamycin, chloramphenicol, colistin, nitrofurantoin, and nalidixic acid. Of the 92 strains studied, 57 were resistant to one or more of these antimicrobial agents. Resistant strains were obtained from all herds involved in the study. The two most common resistance patterns were tetracycline streptomycin sulfamethizole (22 of 57) and tetracycline (13 of 57). None of the strains were resistant to chloramphenicol, colistin, nitrofurantoin, or nalidixic acid. The 57 resistant strains were studied to determine whether the resistance was transferable. Forty-three of the 57 resistant strains could transfer part or all of their resistance pattern to a drug-sensitive recipient. The 43 R(+) strains were obtained from 17 of the 23 herds studied. Considerable variation was observed between different R(+) strains in the frequency of transfer of resistance to a particular drug. In addition, variation in the frequency of transfer of different resistance determinants in individual R(+) strains was noted.  相似文献

It was found that 87.6% of the strains were resistant to at least one drug, with the highest percentages of resistance being detected for ampicillin (54.7%), sulfadiazine (46.5%), nitrofurantoin (38.2%), and chloramphenicol (37.0%). Six enterobacteria, two Vibrio, and one Aeromonas isolate transferred resistance factors to Escherichia coli K-12. The most common transmissible R factor determined resistance to chloramphenicol and sulfadiazine, demonstrating an association between a specific plasmid and the resistance pattern transferred. The presence of chloramphenicol in fish food was detected by bioassay. Of the 146 strains tested, 93% were resistant to at least one drug and 74% were resistant to two or more antibiotics. The O1 strains were susceptible to all antibiotics used. A total of 26 of 28 selected resistant wild strains carried R plasmids that were transferable by intraspecific and intergeneric matings. The most common transmissible R factor determined resistance to ampicillin, amoxicillin, and sulfanilamide (30%), followed by resistance to ampicillin and amoxicillin (13%) and resistance to ampicillin, amoxicillin, phosphomycin, and sulfanilamide (9%). Comparison of the three methods of plasmid analysis showed that the method of Birnboim and Doly (Nucleic Acids Res. 7:1513-1523, 1979) without EDTA and lysozyme was optimal for isolation of both large and small plasmids in environmental V. cholerae strains. Most strains harbored more than one plasmid, and the molecular sizes ranged from 1.1 to 74.8 megadaltons. The plasmids of high molecular size (around 74 megadaltons) were responsible for the resistance pattern transferred and were maintained with high stability in the hosts.  相似文献

目的:探讨猪大肠杆菌的耐药质粒图谱、耐药性及耐药基因之间的关系。方法:从湖南省株洲、益阳的四个猪场分离出9株大肠杆菌,进行质粒电泳图谱分析、用PCR法检测耐喹诺酮类耐药基因Gyr A、Par C和耐四环素类耐药基因Tet A、Tet B,并采用Kirby-bauer法对这9株大肠杆菌进行药敏(18种抗生素)试验。结果:其中9株大肠杆菌含有三条或者三条以上的质粒条带,且其质粒谱型均不相同;9株大肠杆菌均检测出4种耐药基因Gyr A、Par C、Tet A和Tet B;9株大肠杆菌对所选用的抗生素存在不同程度的耐药性,其中7株大肠杆菌对10种或10种以上的抗生素耐药,最高对13种抗生素耐药,氨苄西林、青霉素、阿莫西林、红霉素的耐药率达100%,对四环素、多西环素的耐药率达到88.9%,而多粘菌素B、阿奇霉素、大观霉素耐药率较低。结论:耐药性与质粒条带数、耐药基因之间并无明显的相关性;猪大肠杆菌呈多重耐药之势,在治疗大肠杆菌病时最好根据药敏实验结果选用合适的抗生素。  相似文献

Coliforms, fecal coliforms, and Salmonella were isolated from the Red River, Manitoba, Canada, and identified. These organisms were then examined for resistance to 12 antibiotics. Some fecal coliforms were resistant to all 12 antibiotics, and 18% of the Salmonella isolates were resistant to one or more antibiotics. A total of 52.9% of the fecal coliforms resistant to three or more antibiotics were able to transfer single or multiple resistance (R) determinants to the Salmonella recipient, and 40.7% could transfer R determinants to the Escherichia coli recipient. Of the resistant Salmonella, 57% transferred one or two determinants to the Salmonella recipient, and 39% transferred one or two determinants to the E. coli recipient. It was calculated that populations of fecal coliforms containing R factors were as high as 1,400 per 100 ml and that an accidental intake of a few milliliters of water could lead to transient or permanent colonization of the digestive tract. Consideration of data on bacteria with R factors should be made in future water quality deliberations and in discharge regulations.  相似文献

Transfer of Cefamandole resistance was demonstrated from strains of Citrobacter freundii as well as from individual strains of Enterobacter cloacae, Acinetobacter anitratus and Klebsiella pneumoniae isolated from patients in two newborn units. In Citrobacter freundii, Cefamandole resistance was transferred always with Cephalotin resistance as well as with a TEM-like beta lactamase (conferring resistance to Ampicillin, Carbenicillin and Azlocillin). Citrobacter freundii strains from Hospital I were completely susceptible to gentamicin, while strains of other species, resistant to Cefamandole plus Cephalotin, were resistant to Gentamicin as well, and transferred this resistance, too. In one Enterobacter cloacae strain from Hospital I, Cefamandole resistance could be separated from resistance to Cephalotin, but only in clones selected with gentamicin and not with any of the cephalosporins. Acinetobacter anitratus strain was also resistant to Cefotaxime, but did not transfer this resistance. It might be concluded that special nosocomial bacteria may carry plasmids conferring a transferable type of resistance to Cefamandole together with resistance to classical cephalosporines. Second cycle of transfers, i.e. between two variants of E. coli K-12 strains confirmed the contransferability of Cefamandole and Cephalotin resistance.  相似文献

Attempts to detect transferable citrate-utilizing (Cit) ability in enterobacterial strains were carried out by conjugation experiments. Of 318 strains of Salmonella typhimurium and 1 strain of Salmonella bredeney isolated from cattle in Japan from 1970 to 1979, 107 (33.5%) strains contained transferable Cit characters. Most of the strains transferred the Cit characters to recipient Escherichia coli more efficiently at 28 degrees C than at 37 degrees C, indicating that their transfer of the Cit character is thermosensitive. Transferred Cit characters were found in association with drug resistance markers such as ampicillin, chloramphenicol, kanamycin, streptomycin, sulfonamides, and tetracycline or with mercury resistance, but Cit plasmids conferring Cit ability alone were also obtained. Of 221 conjugative Cit plasmids tested for fertility inhibition (Fi), all but 2 were Fi- and exhibited thermosensitive transfer; 2 Cit plasmids showing the Fi+ character were also isolated from 2 S. typhimurium strains. No transferable Cit character was detected from strains of Proteus, Serratia, Klebsiella, Enterobacter, and Citrobacter spp. isolated from humans or cows in the present study. The utilization of tricarboxylic acids by strains with plasmid-borne Cit ability was examined, and two different patterns of utilization were found in the Cit+ E. coli transconjugants.  相似文献

Tuberculosis remains a serious public health problem, worsened by an increased frequency of multidrug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis. We report here a retrospective study of resistance to antituberculosis drugs of 170 strains of M. tuberculosis isolated from the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The frequency of resistance to at least one drug was 34%, while 22% were resistant to more than one drug. Among the strains isolated from patients without a history of previous treatment for tuberculosis, patients with positive serology for HIV and patients with previous treatment for tuberculosis, the resistance to at least one drug was 14, 27 and 73%, respectively. Multidrug-resistant tuberculosis, defined as resistant to at least rifampicin (RMP) and isoniazid (INH), was found in the groups of patients without previous treatment, HIV co-infected and with previous treatment for tuberculosis at 10, 17 and 44%, respectively. With the purpose of evaluating whether the sensitivity test to INH and RMP would be a good marker to indicate resistance to other antituberculosis drugs, sensitivity tests were performed with four more drugs in 32 strains, initially classified as resistant to INH, RMP or both. Of 18 strains resistant to INH and RMP simultaneously, 89% showed resistance to four more drugs.  相似文献

Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Newport resistant to the extended-spectrum cephalosporins (ESCs) and other antimicrobials causes septicemic salmonellosis in humans and animals and is increasingly isolated from humans, animals, foods, and environmental sources. Mechanisms whereby serovar Newport bacteria become resistant to ESCs and other classes of antimicrobials while inhabiting the intestinal tract are not well understood. The present study shows that 25.3% of serovar Newport strains isolated from the turkey poult intestinal tract after the animals were dosed with Escherichia coli harboring a large conjugative plasmid encoding the CMY-2 beta-lactamase and other drug resistance determinants acquired the plasmid and its associated drug resistance genes. The conjugative plasmid containing the cmy-2 gene was transferred not only from the donor E. coli to Salmonella serovar Newport but also to another E. coli serotype present in the intestinal tract. Laboratory studies showed that the plasmid could be readily transferred between serovar Newport and E. coli intestinal isolates. Administration of a single dose of ceftiofur, used to prevent septicemic colibacillosis, to 1-day-old turkeys did not result in the isolation of ceftiofur-resistant E. coli or Salmonella serovar Newport. There was a remarkable association between serotype, drug resistance, and plasmid profile among the E. coli strains isolated from the poults. This study shows that Salmonella serovar Newport can become resistant to ESCs and other antibiotics by acquiring a conjugative drug resistance plasmid from E. coli in the intestines.  相似文献

医院血培养的病原菌分布及耐药性分析   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
目的 了解我院2006年至2008年血培养中病原菌的阳性率、分布及其对药物的敏感情况,为临床治疗菌血症提供用药依据.方法 采用自动血培养仪对血培养瓶进行连续培养监测,全自动微生物分析系统对血标本中分离的病原菌进行鉴定和药物敏感试验.结果 1002份血培养标本分离出病原菌103株,阳性率10.3%,其中革兰阴性菌58株,占56.3%;革兰阳性菌32株,占31.9%;真菌10株,占9.7%.革兰阴性菌中,大肠埃希菌、肺炎克雷伯菌对氨苄西林的耐药率最高,分别为92.7%和92.3%.革兰阳性菌中,金黄色葡萄球菌、凝固酶阴性葡萄球菌对青霉素耐药率达100%,肠球菌对常用抗生素呈高度耐药,未发现葡萄球菌对万古霉素耐药,但有9.1%的肠球菌对万古霉素呈中介.结论 目前我院血培养分离的病原菌分布较广,大肠埃希菌和葡萄球菌是菌血症和(或)败血症的主要病原菌;药敏结果提示检出菌耐药性严重且广谱耐药,及时准确的血培养结果能为临床合理选择抗菌药物提供重要依据.  相似文献

A total of 865 Salmonella isolates from wastewaters and sewage-contaminated natural waters were tested for antimicrobial resistance by using NR10 medium and incubation at 43 degrees C. Of the strains, 12.7% were resistant to one or more of the compounds tested, and 30% transferred resistance to an Escherichia coli recipient. The highest minimal inhibitory concentrations were ca. 1,000 micrograms/ml. Transfer frequencies ranged from 10(-3) to 10(-7).  相似文献

Salmonella cultures were obtained from outbreaks of animal disease from 37 states and 1 territory. They were screened for resistance to 11 antimicrobial drugs. Of the 1,251 strains studied, 935 were resistant to one or more of these agents. The three most common resistance patterns were ampicillin, dihydrostreptomycin, sulfamethoxypyridazine, tetracycline; ampicillin, dihydrostreptomycin, sulfamethoxypyridazine; dihydrostreptomycin, sulfamethoxypyridazine, tetracycline. Resistance transfer was demonstrated on 267 multiply resistant cultures, of which 181 were able to transfer all or part of their resistance pattern to a drug-sensitive recipient.  相似文献
