Unit responses in the medial preoptic region of the anterior hypothalamus and septum to local temperature stimulation of various parts of the skin were studied in chronic experiments on rabbits. The temperature of an area of skin on the back (zone I) and head (zone II) was altered by means of thermodes: heated to 38–40°C and cooled to 22–26°C. Of 111 neurons tested 21 responded to a change of skin temperature (mainly to cooling). Temperature-sensitive hypothalamic neurons were shown to react to temperature stimulation of both skin zones stimulated. The types of the responses recorded are described.I. P. 1. Conduction of impulses in peripheral myelinated fibers of a nerve trunk is a continuous process, since with uninjured nerve fibers: (a) within each internodal segment the conduction time increases continuously and linearly with increasing conduction distance; (b) the presence of nodes of Ranvier does not result in any detectable discontinuity in the conduction of the impulse; (c) the ascending phase of the spike always has an S shape and never presents signs of fractionation; (d) the shape and magnitude of the spike are constant at all points of each internodal segment. 2. Records have been presented of the external logitudinal current that flows during propagation of an impulse in undissected single nerve fiber (Fig. 6). 3. The central distribution of intradental afferent nerve fibers was investigated by combining electron microscopic observations with a selective method for inducing degeneration of the A delta- and C-type afferent fibers. Degenerating terminals were found on the proprioceptive mesencephalic trigeminal neurons and on dendrites in the neuropil of the trigeminal motor nucleus after application of capsaicin to the rat's lower incisor tooth pulp. The results give anatomical evidence of new sites of central projection of intradental A delta- and C-type fibers whereby the nociceptive information from the tooth pulp can affect jaw muscle activity.  相似文献

The principles of a quantitative determination of characteristics concerning the types of anatomical correspondence between the conduction system and the heart at its congenital malformations are presented. This makes it possible to establish that the topographoanatomical type of the conduction system depends on the peculiarities of the heart structure at its congenital malformations rather than from changes in the structure and position of the parts of the conduction system, or the conduction system as a whole according to the types of congenital heart malformations. The mechanism of the left-sided position of the atrioventricular bundle (His bundle) in some congenital malformations of the heart is explained.  相似文献

In decerebrated spinal cats, the effects of iontophoretically applied acetylcholine (ACh) and substance P were examined on the responses of dorsal horn neurones to noxious stimulation and touch of the skin. Both agents, in amounts that did not have a significant direct effect on the neuronal firing rate, prolonged the response of the cells to noxious stimulation but did not alter that to touch stimulation. The peptide and ACh potentiated the late, but not the early, responses of dorsal horn neurones to sural Aδ and C afferent stimulation. Substance P-induced potentiation of the above responses was observed even when the agent did not produce a significant depolarization of nociceptive cells. In greater amounts, the peptide depolarized the neurones, an effect that was not associated with a detectable change in the membrane resistance. These results indicate that substance P facilitates nociceptive pathways by potentiating the subliminal fringe and, in greater amounts, by depolarizing the cells. The failure by the peptide to potentiate touch-induced excitation of the nociceptive neurones appears not to be due to the selectivity of the drug effect but due to the absence of subliminal fringe.  相似文献

In non-anesthesized rabbits intraventricular injection of angiotensin II reduced the amplitude of somatosensory evoked potential to nociceptive tooth pulp, but not to nociceptive electrocutaneous stimulation. The same injection of bombesin induced the contrary analgetic effect. The systemic naloxone (0.1 mg/kg) injection didn't reverse the peptides analgetic effects. It's suggested that selective analgetic effects of angiotensin II and bombesin are determined by the presence of the specific different peptide mechanisms for nociception with the different pain genesis.  相似文献

Vitiligo-related neuropeptides in nerve fibers of the skin   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
Skin distribution of substance P (SP)-, somatostatin (SOM)-, calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP)- and neuropeptide Y (NPY)-like immunoreactivity (LI) in vitiligo patients was studied by an indirect immunofluorescence technique. Immunocytochemical characteristics of the epidermis, dermal-epidermal junction, papillary and reticular dermis and skin appendages were analyzed in lesional and marginal vitiligo areas, as well as in healthy skin. In healthy pigmented skin, SP-, SOM-, CGRP-, and NPY-LI nerve fibers were observed with specific distributional patterns. In uninvolved vitiligo skin, thin SP-containing fibers were evident in dermal papillae, extending into the epidermis, and SP-LI fibers were seen around blood vessels and sweat glands. SOM-LI varicose nerve fibers were associated with Meissner corpuscles in the dermal papillae, while CGRP-LI was demonstrated in the free subepidermal nerve terminals and in sensory nerve fibers around blood vessels, hair follicles and sweat glands. Autonomic NPY-nerve fibers innervated the eccrine sweat glands and blood vessels. The distribution of these neuropeptides in both marginal and lesional areas of vitiliginous skin was the same as in the skin of healthy control subjects, except for an increased immunoreactivity against NPY and, to a lesser extent, against CGRP in the skin depigmentation lesions. The elevated NPY levels in skin affected by vitiligo suggest that this peptide may serve as a neurochemical marker in the pathogenesis of the disease, thus supporting the neuronal theory of vitiligo.  相似文献

A nerve activity in heating of the cat hairy skin was studied in acute experiments in order to find out if the C-receptors take part in peripheral coding of heat information. An integrative cross-correlation technique was used to analyse neurograms in the real time. No C-afferent activity was found in the thermal stimulation up to 41 degrees C of the hairy skin.  相似文献

Tonic electrical activity of different groups of afferent fibers of the intact vagus nerve arising in stretch receptors of the lungs was investigated in acute experiments on cats. The method of coincidence of recorded action potentials was used: Recordings were taken from two points of the nerve, the flow of impulses was delayed by the time taken for their conduction along the nerve between the channels in the one that received it first, and impulses from both channels were then led to a coincidence unit. Fibers with a range of conduction velocities from 8 to 65 m/sec were shown to participate in the transmission of tonic activity from stretch receptors of the lungs to the CNS. Two groups of most active afferent fibers with conduction velocities within the range 35–46 m/sec (mean 41±2.5 m/sec) and 26–34 m/sec (mean 29.4±1.4 m/sec) were distinguished.  相似文献

Orientation and nociception (pain sensitivity) are affected by exposure to geomagnetic or low frequency (<1,000 Hz) magnetic fields of approximately the earth's field strength, i.e., 50 microT. However, these effects are often dependent on the simultaneous presence of visible light. Recently, it was shown that nociception was affected in mice acutely exposed to an electromagnetic-shielded environment in the dark (<0.05 W/m(2)) during the mid-light phase of the diurnal cycle. Here, we report for the first time that if mice are exposed to magnetic shielding in the presence of visible light (0.6 W/m(2), 400-750 nm) that most of the effects of shielding are eliminated. This simple experimental protocol may be useful in investigating the role that light plays in the detection of ambient electromagnetic fields.  相似文献
