Taking advantage of the compelling properties of d ‐penicillamine (d ‐PA) combined with copper, a method for the sensitive and selective determination of d ‐PA was established using copper nanocluster (Cu NC)‐based fluorescence enhancement. d ‐PA molecules containing a thiol compound showed a strong tendency to combine with the surface of Cu NCs, causing the re‐dispersion of nanoclusters and therefore fluorescence intensity was enhanced. Fluorescence enhancement efficiency of Cu NCs induced by d ‐PA was linear, with the d ‐PA concentration varying from 0.6–30 μg ml?1 (R2 = 0.9952) and with a detection limit of 0.54 μg ml?1. d ‐PA content in human urine samples was detected with recoveries of 104.8–112.99%. Fluorescence‐enhanced determination of d ‐PA using Cu NCs was established for the first time and this rapid, easy and sensitive method should attract much attention for this application.  相似文献

CdTe quantum dots (QDs) capped with different stabilizers, i.e. thioglycolic acid (TGA), 3‐mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) and glutathione (GSH) were investigated as fluorescent probes for the determination of Cu2+. The stabilizer was shown to play an important role in both the sensitivity and selectivity for the determination of Cu2+. TGA‐capped CdTe QDs showed the highest sensitivity, followed by the MPA and GSH‐capped CdTe QDs, respectively. The TGA‐ and MPA‐capped CdTe QDs were not selective for Cu2+ that was affected by Ag+. The GSH‐capped CdTe QDs were insensitive to Ag+ and were used to determine Cu2+ in water samples. Under optimal conditions, quenching of the fluorescence intensity (F0/F) increased linearly with the concentration of Cu2+ over a range of 0.10–4.0 µg/mL and the detection limit was 0.06 µg/mL. The developed method was successfully applied to the determination of Cu2+ in water samples. Good recoveries of 93–104%, with a relative standard deviation of < 6% demonstrated that the developed simple method was accurate and reliable. The quenching mechanisms were also described. In this study, d ‐penicillamine‐functionalized graphene quantum dots (DPA‐GQD) has been synthesized, which significantly increases the fluorescence intensity of GQD. We used this simple fluorescent probe for metal ions detection in human plasma samples. Designed DPA‐GQD respond to Hg2+, Cu2+, Au2+, Ag+, Co2+, Zn2+, and Pb2+ with high sensitivity. The fluorescence intensity of this probe decreased significantly in the presence of metal ions such as, Hg2+, Cu2+, Au2+, Ag+, Co2+, Zn2+, and Pb2+. In this work, a promising probe for ions monitoring was introduced. Moreover, DPA‐GQD probe has been tested in plasma samples. The functionalized DPA‐GQDs exhibits great promise as an alternative to previous fluorescent probes for bio‐labeling, sensing, and other biomedical applications in aqueous solution.  相似文献

In this study, CdS quantum dots (QDs) capped with mercaptosuccinic acid (MSA) were prepared in one step. The size, shape, component and spectral properties of MSA‐capped CdS QDs were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), photoluminescence (PL) and infrared (IR) spectrometry. The results showed that the prepared QDs with an average diameter of 6 nm have favorable fluorescence, which is greatly influenced by the pH of the environment. The interaction of some heavy metal ions including Ag+, Hg2+, Cu2+, Ni2+ and Co2+ with MSA‐capped CdS QDs was investigated in different buffering pH media. Based on the fluorescence quenching of the QDs in the presence of each of the metal ions, the feasibility of their determinations was examined according to the Stern–Volmer equation. The investigations showed that Hg(II) ions can be determined in the presence of many co‐existing metal ions at a buffering pH of 5. This method was satisfactorily applied to the measurement of Hg(II) ions in some environmental samples. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Cysteamine (CA)‐capped CdTe quantum dots (QDs) (CA–CdTe QDs) were prepared by the reflux method and utilized as an efficient nano‐sized fluorescent sensor to detect mercury (II) ions (Hg2+). Under optimum conditions, the fluorescence quenching effect of CA–CdTe QDs was linear at Hg2+ concentrations in the range of 6.0–450 nmol/L. The detection limit was calculated to be 4.0 nmol/L according to the 3σ IUPAC criteria. The influence of 10‐fold Pb2+, Cu2+ and Ag+ on the determination of Hg2+ was < 7% (superior to other reports based on crude QDs). Furthermore, the detection sensitivity and selectivity were much improved relative to a sensor based on the CA–CdTe QDs probe, which was prepared using a one‐pot synthetic method. This CA–CdTe QDs sensor system represents a new feasibility to improve the detection performance of a QDs sensor by changing the synthesis method. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A sensitive and simple analytical strategy for the detection of sodium cromoglycate (SCG) has been established based on a readily detectable fluorescence quenching effect of SCG for glutathione‐capped (GSH‐capped) CdTe quantum dots (QDs). The fluorescence of GSH‐capped CdTe QDs could be efficiently quenched by SCG through electron transfer from GSH‐capped CdTe QDs to SCG. Under optimum conditions, the response was linearly proportional to the concentration of SCG between 0.6419 and 100 µg/mL, with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.9964; the detection limit (3δ/K) was 0.1926 µg/mL. The optimum conditions and the influence of coexisting foreign substances on the reaction were also investigated. The very effective and simple method reported here has been successfully applied to the determination of SCG in synthetic and real samples. It is believed that the established approach could have good prospects for application in the fields of clinical diseases diagnosis and treatment. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Development of the fluorescent pH detection method is promising due to the sensitivity, easy operation, and low‐cost, etc. However, traditional organic fluorophores have still some disadvantages such as the tedious preparation and purification as well as low photostability and water solubility, which limits the rapid detection application. Semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) have recently risen to prominence as an alternative for organic fluorophores in fluorescence analysis by virtue of their convenient synthesis and superior optical properties. In this study, we report on sodium 4‐mercaptophenolate functionalized CdSe/ZnS QDs (denoted as ?OPhS‐QDs), which can serve as a selective “on–off” fluorescence probe for aqueous media pH. ?OPhS‐QDs exhibit strong fluorescence in near neutral medium. As a Lewis organic base, ?OPhS‐ moieties on QDs surface easily binds to proton under acidic conditions to yield 4‐mercaptophenol capped QDs (i.e. HOPhS‐QDs), which acts as an efficient hole trapper. As a result, the QDs photoluminescence (PL) is switched off. Under optimal conditions, the present probe exhibits a good linear relationship between fluorescence response and pH values in the pH range 3.0–5.2. Furthermore, the present probe exhibits a high selectivity for proton over other common cations and has been successfully used for pH detection in real water samples.  相似文献

The structure of N‐nitroso, N‐(2‐chloroethyl), N′,N′‐dibenzylsulfamid (CENS) was established by X‐ray crystallography. The atomic coordinates, factors of isotropic thermal agitation, bond lengths and valence angles were determined. The solvent effects on the electronic absorption and fluorescence spectra of CENS were investigated at room temperature. The effects of solvent polarity and of hydrogen bonding were interpreted by means of linear solvation energy relationships (LSERs). Multiple linear regression analysis indicated that the hydrogen donation properties of the solvent play an important role in determining the position of the absorption maximum, while the classical polarity of the medium is the only dominating parameter in determining the emission maximum and the Stokes' shift. Complexation of the investigated compound by two different transition metal ions was studied. Fluorescence measurements show that fluorescence quenching by cobalt(II) is more important than that by copper(II). This phenomenon can be attributed to good stereo‐structural matching between the electronic configuration of the Co2+ ion and the active site distribution of CENS in aqueous solution. Mercaptopropionic acid (MPA)–capped cadmium telluride (CdTe) quantum dot (QDs) fluorescent probes were synthesized in aqueous solution and used for the determination of salicylic acid. The interaction between the MPA–capped CdTe QDs and salicylic acid was studied using fluorescence spectroscopy and some parameters that could modify the fluorescence were investigated to optimize the measurements. Under optimum conditions, the quenched fluorescence intensity of MPA–capped CdTe QDs was linearly proportional to the concentration of salicylic acid in the range of 0.5–40 µg mL–1 with a coefficient of determination of 0.998, and the limit of detection was 0.15 µg mL–1. The method was successfully applied to the determination of salicylic acid in pharmaceutical products, and satisfactory results were obtained that were in agreement with both the high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) method and the claimed values. The recovery of the method was in the range 99 ± 3% to 105 ± 9%. The proposed method is simple, rapid, cost effective, highly sensitivity and eminently suitable for the quality control of pharmaceutical preparation. The possible mechanisms for the observed quenching reaction was also discussed. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A facile method was developed for the preparation of water soluble β‐Cyclodextrin (β‐CD)‐modified CdSe quantum dots (QDs) (β‐CD‐QDs) by directly replacing the oleic acid ligands on the QDs surface with β‐CD in an alkaline aqueous solution. The as‐prepared QDs show good stability in aqueous solution for several months. Oxoanions, including phosphoric acid ion, sulphite acid ion and carbonic acid ion, affect the fluorescence of β‐CD‐QDs. Among them, H2PO4 exhibited the largest quenching effect. For the polyprotic acids (HO)3AO, the effect of acidic anions on the fluorescence of β‐CD‐QDs was in the order: monoanion (HO)2AO2 > dianion (HO)AO32– >> trianion AO43–. After photoactivation for several days in the presence of anions at alkaline pH, the β‐CD‐QDs exhibited strong fluorescence emission. The effect of various heavy and transition metal ions on the fluorescence properties of the β‐CD‐QDs was investigated further. It was found that Ag+, Hg2+ and Co2+ have significant quenching effect on the fluorescence of the β‐CD‐QDs. The Stern–Volmer quenching constants increased in the order: Hg2+ < Co2+ <Ag+. The adsorption model of metal ions on β‐CD‐QDs was explored. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

To develop conducting organic polymers (COPs) as luminescent sensors for determination of toxic heavy metals, a new benzene sulfonic acid‐doped polypyrrole (PPy‐BSA) thin film was electrochemically prepared by cyclic voltammetry (CV) on flexible indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode in aqueous solution. PPy‐BSA film was characterized by FTIR spectrometry, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The optical properties of PPy‐BSA were investigated by ultraviolet (UV)‐visible absorption and fluorescence spectrometry in dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) diluted solutions. PPy‐BSA fluorescence spectra were strongly quenched upon increasing copper(II) ion (Cu2+) and lead(II) ion (Pb2+) concentrations in aqueous medium, and linear Stern–Volmer relationships were obtained, which indicated the existence of a main dynamic fluorescence quenching mechanism. BSA‐PPy sensor showed a high sensitivity for detection of both metallic ions, Cu2+ and Pb2+, with very low limit of detection values of 3.1 and 18.0 nM, respectively. The proposed quenching‐fluorimetric sensor might be applied to the determination of traces of toxic heavy metallic ions in water samples.  相似文献

A sensitive and simple method for the determination of enoxacin (ENX) was developed based on the fluorescence quenching effect of ENX for glutathione (GSH)‐capped CdTe quantum dots (QDs). Under optimum conditions, a good linear relationship was obtained from 4.333 × 10?9 mol?L?1 to 1.4 × 10?5 mol?L?1 with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.9987, and the detection limit (3σ/K) was 1.313 × 10?9 mol?L?1. The corresponding mechanism has been proposed on the basis of electron transfer supported by ultraviolet–visible (UV) light absorption, fluorescence spectroscopy, and the measurement of fluorescence lifetime. The method has been applied to the determination of ENX in pharmaceutical formulations (enoxacin gluconate injections and commercial tablets) with satisfactory results. The proposed method manifested several advantages such as high sensitivity, short analysis time, low cost and ease of operation. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The interaction of glucose‐derived carbon quantum dots (CQDs) with silver (Ag) and gold (Au) nanoparticles (NPs) was explored by fluorescence spectroscopy. Both metal NPs cause an efficient quenching of CQD fluorescence, which is likely due to the energy transfer process between CQDs as donors and metal NPs as acceptors. The Stern–Volmer plots were evaluated and corresponding quenching constants were found to be 1.9 × 1010 and 2.2 × 108 M?1 for AgNPs and AuNPs, respectively. The analytical applicability of these systems was demonstrated for turn‐on fluorescence detection of the anti‐cancer drug, 6‐thioguanine. Because the CQD–AgNP system had much higher sensitivity than the CQD–AuNP system, we used it as a selective fluorescence probe in a turn‐on assay of 6‐thioguanine. Under optimum conditions, the calibration graph was linear from 0.03 to 1.0 μM with a detection limit of 0.01 μM. The developed method was applied to the analysis of human plasma samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

In this study, a high fluorescence sensitivity and selectivity, molecularly imprinted nanofluorescent polymer sensor (MIP@SiO2@QDs) was prepared using a reverse microemulsion method. 2,4,6‐Trichlorophenol (2,4,6‐TCP) was detected using fluorescence quenching. Tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS), quantum dots (QDs) and 3‐aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTS) were used as cross‐linker, signal sources and functional monomer respectively. The sensor (MIP@SiO2@QDs) and the non‐imprinted polymer sensor (NIP@SiO2@QDs) were characterized using infra‐red (IR) analysis, X‐ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The selectivity of MIP@SiO2@QDs was examined by comparing 2,4,6‐TCP with other similar functional substances including 2,4‐dichlorophenol (2,4‐DCP), 2,6‐dichlorophenol (2,6‐DCP) and 4‐chlorophenol (4‐CP). Results showed that MIP@SiO2@QDs had better selectivity for 2,4,6‐TCP than the other compounds. Fluorescence quenching efficiency displayed a good linear response at the 2,4,6‐TCP concentration range 5–1000 μmol/L. The limit of detection (LOD) was 0.9 μmol/L (3σ, n = 9). This method was equally applicable for testing actual samples with a recovery rate of 98.0–105.8%. The sensor had advantages of simple pretreatment, good sensitivity and selectivity, and wide linear range and could be applied for the rapid detection of 2,4,6‐TCP in actual samples.  相似文献

A simple one‐step thermal treatment to prepare strong fluorescent sulfur and nitrogen co‐doped graphene quantum dots (SN‐GQD) using citric acid and l ‐cysteine as precursors was developed. The ultra‐weak chemiluminescence (CL) from the reaction of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and periodate (IO4?) was significantly enhanced by SN‐GQD in acidic medium. The enhanced CL was induced by excited‐state SN‐GQD (SN‐GQD*), which was produced from the transfer energy of (O2)2* and 1O2 to SN‐GQD and recombination of oxidant‐injected holes and electrons in SN‐GQD. In the presence of tryptophan (Trp), the CL intensity of the SN‐GQD–H2O2–KIO4 system was greatly diminished. This finding was used to design a novel method for determination of Trp in the linear range 0.6–20.0 μM, with a limit of detection (LOD) of 58.0 nM. Furthermore, Hg2+ was detectable in the range 0.1–9.0 μM with a LOD of 64.0 nM, based on its marked enhancement of the SN‐GQD–H2O2–KIO4 CL system. The proposed method was successfully applied to detect Trp in milk and human plasma samples and Hg2+ in drinking water samples, with recoveries in the range 95.7–107.0%.  相似文献

An automated multi‐pumping flow system is proposed for the chemiluminometric determination of ascorbic acid in pharmaceutical formulations, relying on the ability of semiconductor nanocrystals to generate short‐lived reactive species upon photo‐irradiation. A photo‐unit based on visible‐light‐emitting diodes is used to photo‐excite cadmium telluride (CdTe) quantum dots capped with glutathione, leading to the generation of radicals that react with luminol under alkaline conditions, yielding the chemiluminescence. Ascorbic acid acts as a radical scavenger, preventing the oxidation of luminol, thus ensuring a concentration‐dependent chemiluminescence quenching. After system optimization, a linear working range of 5.0 × 10‐7 to 5.0 × 10‐6 mol/L ascorbic acid (r = 0.9967, n = 5) was attained, with a detection limit of 3.05 × 10‐7 mol/L and a sampling rate of 200/h. The flow system was applied to the analysis of pharmaceutical formulations and the results were in good agreement with those obtained by the reference titrimetric procedure (RD < ± 4.3%, n = 7). N‐acetyl‐l ‐cysteine‐capped Mn‐doped ZnS quantum dots (QDs) were prepared by hydrothermal methods. It could emit phosphorescence at 583 nm with the excitation wavelength at 315 nm. The phosphorescence intensity of QDs could be quenched dramatically by increasing the concentration of Co2+ ion. The novel phosphorescence sensor based on N‐acetyl‐l ‐cysteine‐capped QDs was developed for detecting Co2+ ion with a linear dynamic range of 1.25 × 10–6–3.25 × 10–5 m . The limit of detection and RSD were 6.0 × 10–8 m and 2.3%, respectively. Interference experiments showed excellent selectivity over numerous cations such as alkali, alkaline earth and transitional metal ions. The possible quenching mechanism was also examined by phosphorescence decays. The proposed phosphorescence method was further applied to the trace determination of Co2+ ion in tap and pond water samples with recoveries of 97.75–103.32%. Quantum dots (QDs), one of the fastest developing and most exciting fluorescent materials, have attracted increasing interest in bioimaging and biomedical applications. The long‐term stability and emission in the visible region of QDs have proved their applicability as a significant fluorophore in cell labelling. In this study, an attempt has been made to explore the efficacy of l ‐cysteine as a capping agent for Mn‐doped ZnS QD for intracellular imaging. A room temperature nucleation strategy was adopted to prepare non‐toxic, water‐dispersible and biocompatible Mn:ZnS QDs. Aqueous and room temperature QDs with l ‐cysteine as a capping agent were found to be non‐toxic even at a concentration of 1500 µg/mL and have wide applications in intracellular imaging. The water‐soluble luminescent CdSe quantum dots were prepared by ligand exchange with triethanolamine (TEA). Oxygen can reversibly enhance the fluorescence of the synthesized quantum dots (TEA‐CdSe‐QDs) in aqueous solution. Nitric oxide radical (NO) can react easily with dissolved oxygen in water and was found to have a significant quenching effect on the fluorescence of the TEA‐CdSe‐QDs. The fluorescence responses were concentration‐dependent and can be well described by the typical Stern–Volmer equation. A good linear relationship (R= 0.9963) was observed over the range 5.92 × 10?7 to 1.85 × 10?5 mol/L nitric oxide. Above this concentration was a second linear region ranging from 2.12 × 10?5 to 1.12 × 10?4 mol/L NO with a gentler slope. The detection limit, calculated following the 3σ IUPAC criteria, was 3.02 × 10?7 mol/L. The interference effect of some common interferents such as nitrite (NO2?), nitrate (NO3?), glucose and l ‐ascorbic acid on the detection of NO was negligible for the proposed system, demonstrating the potential utility of this probe for the detection of NO in biological systems. The possible mechanism was also discussed. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Water‐soluble ZnS quantum dots (QDs) modified by mercaptoacetic acid (MPA) were used to determinate quercetin in aqueous solutions by a fluorescence spectroscopic technique. The results showed that the fluorescence of the modified ZnS QDs could be quenched by quercetin effectively in physiological buffer solution. The optimum fluorescence intensity was found to be at incubation time 10 min, pH 7.0 and temperature 25°C. Under the optimal conditions, the detection limit of quercetin was 5.71 × 10‐7 mol/L. Moreover, the quenching mechanism was discussed to be a static quenching procedure, which was proved by the quenching rate constant Kq (1.14 × 1013 L/mol/s). Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
