Stethorus gilvifrons Mulsant, native to the Mediterranean region, is often observed feeding on Tetranychus turkestani Ugarov & Nycolsky and Eutetranychus orientalis Klein on different host crops. Fecundity of S. gilvifrons on T. turkestani and E. orientalis was evaluated by placing newly emerged pairs on leaf discs infested with different developmental stages of T. turkestani or E. orientalis. They were maintained at 30 °C and changed daily until death of the female. Adult female mean longevity was 58 days on T. turkestani and 45 days on E. orientalis. Mean fecundity was 175 eggs per female on T. turkestani and 318 eggs per female on E. orientalis. No significant differences were detected in the duration of life stages between T. turkestani and E. orientalis. Mean preimaginal mortality was 20% on T. turkestani and 24% on E. orientalis, with no statistical differences. Mean generation time (T) was 26.76 and 22.83 days on T. turkestani and E. orientalis, respectively. Net reproductive rate (Ro) was significantly greater on E. orientalis (154.08) than on T. turkestani (97.6), but the estimate of intrinsic rate of increase (rm) was not statistically different (0.221 and 0.171, respectively). Our results suggest that both T. turkestani and E. orientalis are essential prey for S. gilvifrons development and reproduction and that E. orientalis is slightly more suitable than T. turkestani.  相似文献

The nutritional potential of short-horned grasshopper, Chondacris rosea (Acrididae) and mole cricket, Brachytrupes orientalis (Gryllidae), two common species of Orthoptera used as food by tribal people of Arunachal Pradesh (NE India), was assessed. C rosea and B. orientalis contain 68.88 and 65.74% crude protein, 7.88 and 6.33% fat, 12.38 and 8.75% crude fiber, 4.16 and 4.33% ash, and 6.69% and 15.18% carbohydrate, respectively. The protein in both species is composed of 18 amino acids, including all of the essential ones, which except for methionine, satisfy (scores > 100) the recommended dose suggested by FAO/WHO/UNU. The predominant fatty acids in C. rosea were: palmitic, stearic, oleic, linolenic and linoleic acid viz. 17.2, 12.4, 21, 24.5 and 16.4%, respectively. In B. orientalis palmitic (50.3%) and stearic acids (32%) were dominating. Mineral content was generally higher than that of conventional meat types. B. orientalis fulfilled the RDA (88–109%) for Fe and both species fulfilled the RDA for Zn (70 to 108%) and Cu (> 100%). Based on 100 g of fresh insects the calorific values of C. rosea and B. orientalis were 373.24 and 380.65% kcal. We conclude that these insects can be recommended as a replacement of vertebrate animal food items as and when required.  相似文献

Aim of this studyWithin the genus Scutellaria various species are used in different folk medicines throughout Asia. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) uses S. baicalensis (Labiatae) to treat various inflammatory conditions. The root shows strong anticancer properties in vitro and was suggested for clinical trials against multiple myeloma. Further, S. barbata was successfully tested against metastatic breast cancer in a phase I/II trial. Therefore, we investigated the anti-cancer properties of S. orientalis L. ssp. carica Edmondson, an endemic subspecies from the traditional medicinal plant S. orientalis L. in Turkey, which is used to promote wound healing and to stop haemorrhage.Materials and methodsFreeze-dried plant material was extracted with petroleum ether, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, and methanol and the bioactivity of these extracts was analysed by proliferation assay, cell death determination, and by investigating protein expression profiles specific for cell cycle arrest and apoptosis.ResultsThe strongest anti-leukemic activity was shown by the methanol extract, which contained apigenin, baicalein, chrysin, luteolin and wogonin, with an IpC50 of 43 μg/ml (corresponding to 1.3 mg/ml of dried plant material) which correlated with cyclin D1- and Cdc25A suppression and p21 induction. At 132 μg/ml (=4 mg/ml of the drug) this extract caused genotoxic stress indicated by substantial phosphorylation of the core histone H2AX (γ-H2AX) followed by activation of caspase 3 and signature-type cleavage of PARP resulting in a 55% apoptosis rate after 48 hours of treatment.ConclusionsHere, we report for the first time that S. orientalis L. ssp. carica Edmondson exhibited potent anti-leukaemic properties likely through the anti-proliferative effect of baicalein and the genotoxic property of wogonin.  相似文献

Cupressaceae pollen allergy is an important cause of pollen allergy throughout the world. Prevalence of allergy to Cupressaceae pollen has increased significantly during the winter over the past 3 decades because of extensive planting of cypress trees for different purposes. Thuja orientalis (Cupressaceae) is a naturally grown plant in Iran and is widely cultivated as a common ornamental plant in this country and other ones. Allergenicity of its pollen has been established, but to this day no allergenic component has been detected. The aim of this research is to study allergenicity and evaluate the immunoglobulin E reactivity to T. orientalis pollen extracts. Pollen grains were directly collected from mature male cones of trees. Pollen proteins were extracted and were analyzed by SDS-PAGE. Total protein content of pollen extracts was measured by Bradford assay. Immunoblotting using the serum of sensitized rats showed a single immunogenic band at about 44KD in pollen extracts. Result of this research proved that pollen grains of T. orientalis are allergenic.  相似文献

Ribosomal RNA genes have been widely used for the identification and phylogenetic analysis of various organisms, including parasitic protozoa. Here, we report nine near full-length Theileria orientalis 18S rRNA gene sequences from cattle from different areas of Myanmar. Phylogenetic analysis of the 18S rRNA genes revealed a considerably close genetic relationship among T. orientalis isolates from Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Myanmar, and Pakistan. We also obtained four Theileria velifera-like (Theileria cf. velifera) 18S rRNA gene sequences from two cattle and two water buffaloes from the northernmost area of Myanmar. The phylogenetic analysis of T. cf. velifera isolates from Myanmar along with T. velifera and T. cf. velifera isolates from African countries suggested an evolutionary lineage of greater complexity in T. velifera-related parasites. DNA alignment analysis indicated the presence of 51 and 55 nucleotide variation positions within the 18S rRNA genes from 15 T. orientalis and 11 T. velifera-related isolates, respectively. Alignment entropy analysis of the 18S rRNA sequences indicated that both T. orientalis and T. velifera-related isolates had three hyper variable regions, corresponding to V2, V4, and V7 regions in eukaryotes. The degree of variation was prominent in the V2 in T. orientalis and V4 in T. velifera-related isolates. The secondary structure analysis of the 18S rRNA predicted using minimum free energy algorism revealed that the structure of V4 region differed most significantly between T. orientalis and T. velifera. These results provide novel insights into common structures, variations and functions of small subunit rRNA in Theileria species.  相似文献

Background:

Allergy is a clinical disorder affecting the human population with wide geographical distribution. Platanus orientalis (P. orientalis) trees are planted in many countries and their pollen causes allergic reactions.Cyclophilin has recently been identified as one of the most important allergens of P. orientalis pollen. We aimed to clone and purify this allergen in Escherichia coli for further studies and therapeutic and diagnostic purposes for allergy to P. orientalis.

Methods:

RNA was extracted from P. orientalis. A full-length fragment encoding cyclophilin was prepared by polymerase chain reaction amplification of the first-strand cDNA synthesized from P. orientalis RNA. The cDNA was inserted into the pET32b (+) vector, and the construct transformed into E. coli Top10 and BL21 cells. The expressed protein was purified by the CuSO4 method.

Results:

The cDNA for the cyclophilin of P. orientalis pollen was cloned, and a specific reactivity of recombinant cyclophin was confirmed by immunoblotting using sera from patients allergic to P. orientalis pollen.

Conclusion:

PurposeTo determine the targeting accuracy of brain radiosurgery when planning procedures employing different MRI and MRI + CT combinations are adopted.Materials and methodA new phantom, the BrainTool, has been designed and realized to test image co-registration and targeting accuracy in a realistic anatomical situation. The phantom was created with a 3D printer and materials that mimic realistic brain MRI and CT contrast using a model extracted from a synthetic MRI study of a human brain. Eight markers distributed within the BrainTool provide for assessment of the accuracy of image registrations while two cavities that host an ionization chamber are used to perform targeting accuracy measurements with an iterative cross-scan method. Two procedures employing 1.5 T MRI-only or a combination of MRI (taken with 1.5 T or 3 T scanners) and CT to carry out Gamma Knife treatments were investigated. As distortions can impact targeting accuracy, MR images were preliminary evaluated to assess image deformation extent using GammaTool phantom.ResultsMR images taken with both scanners showed average and maximum distortion of 0.3 mm and 1 mm respectively. The marker distances in co-registered images resulted below 0.5 mm for both MRI scans. The targeting mismatches obtained were 0.8 mm, 1.0 mm and 1.2 mm for MRI-only and MRI + CT (1,5T and 3 T), respectively.ConclusionsProcedures using a combination of MR and CT images provide targeting accuracies comparable to those of MRI-only procedures. The BrainTool proved to be a suitable tool for carrying out co-registration and targeting accuracy of Gamma Knife brain radiosurgery treatments.  相似文献

Background

Tuna species of the genus Thunnus, such as the bluefin tunas, are some of the most important and yet most endangered trade fish in the world. Identification of these species in traded forms, however, may be difficult depending on the presentation of the products, which may hamper conservation efforts on trade control. In this paper, we validated a genetic methodology that can fully distinguish between the eight Thunnus species from any kind of processed tissue.

Methodology

After testing several genetic markers, a complete discrimination of the eight tuna species was achieved using Forensically Informative Nucleotide Sequencing based primarily on the sequence variability of the hypervariable genetic marker mitochondrial DNA control region (mtDNA CR), followed, in some specific cases, by a second validation by a nuclear marker rDNA first internal transcribed spacer (ITS1). This methodology was able to distinguish all tuna species, including those belonging to the subgenus Neothunnus that are very closely related, and in consequence can not be differentiated with other genetic markers of lower variability. This methodology also took into consideration the presence of introgression that has been reported in past studies between T. thynnus, T. orientalis and T. alalunga. Finally, we applied the methodology to cross-check the species identity of 26 processed tuna samples.

Conclusions

Using the combination of two genetic markers, one mitochondrial and another nuclear, allows a full discrimination between all eight tuna species. Unexpectedly, the genetic marker traditionally used for DNA barcoding, cytochrome oxidase 1, could not differentiate all species, thus its use as a genetic marker for tuna species identification is questioned.  相似文献

BackgroundMajor components are often used as marker compounds for quality control of traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs). However, these compounds may not necessarily bioavailable and active in vivo, thereby, failing to control the “quality”.PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to develop a novel strategy integrating absorption and activity deduced from network pharmacology to identify more reasonable markers for quality control of TCM formulas using Wu Ji Bai Feng Pill (WJBFP) as an example.Study DesignHuman Caucasian colon adenocarcinoma (Caco-2) cell transport studies and a bioavailability-enhanced network pharmacological approach were integrated to identify better phytochemical markers for quality control.MethodsThe absorption of multiple components in WJBFP was evaluated by a Caco-2 cell culture model. Nine databases were used to identify potential targets in the network pharmacology analysis. Cytoscape 3.7.2 was employed for the network data integration, visualization, and centrality analysis. Molecular docking was carried out to investigate the binding affinity of the identified markers to their candidate targets.ResultsThe apparent permeability coefficient (Papp) and efflux ratio (ER) of 66 compounds were determined. Five hundred and two putative targets and 187 primary dysmenorrhea (PD) related targets were identified. Twenty-two candidate targets interacting with 20 potential active compounds were screened with the putative PD related targets intersection network using Degree Centrality (DC) ranking. By integrating absorption, 16 candidate targets interacting with 8 potential active compounds were identified. Besides, 53 compounds hitting candidate targets were divided into two classes according to their DC values. Then each of the two classes of DC was stratified into two groups based on the Papp for a total of four classes. Finally, five compounds belonging to Class 1 with higher DC and higher Papp, formononetin, ferulic acid, isoliquiritigenin, neocryptotanshinone and senkyunolide A, were identified as potential bioavailable phytochemical markers for the quality control of WJBFP against PD. Furthermore, molecular docking analysis validated the interplay between candidate targets and marker ingredients.ConclusionA novel strategy combining intestinal absorption with network pharmacology analysis was successfully established to identify bioavailable and bioactive markers for quality control of WJBFP against PD.  相似文献

One of the goals in oilseed rape programs is to develop genotypes producing oil with low linolenic acid content (C18:3, ≤3%). Low linolenic mutant lines of canola rapeseed were obtained via chemical mutagenesis at the Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute – NRI, in Poznan, Poland, and allele-specific SNP markers were designed for monitoring of two statistically important single nucleotide polymorphisms detected by SNaPshot analysis in two FAD3 desaturase genes, BnaA.FAD3 and BnaC.FAD3, respectively. Strong negative correlation between the presence of mutant alleles of the genes and linolenic acid content was revealed by analysis of variance. In this paper we present detailed characteristics of the markers by estimation of the additive and dominance effects of the FAD3 genes with respect to particular fatty acid content in seed oil, as well as by calculation of the phenotypic variation of seed oil fatty acid composition accounted by particular allele-specific marker. The obtained percentage of variation in fatty acid composition was considerable only for linolenic acid content and equaled 35.6% for BnaA.FAD3 and 39.3% for BnaC.FAD3, whereas the total percentage of variation in linolenic acid content was 53.2% when accounted for mutations in both genes simultaneously. Our results revealed high specificity of the markers for effective monitoring of the wild-type and mutated alleles of the Brassica napus FAD3 desaturase genes in the low linolenic mutant recombinants in breeding programs.  相似文献

The development of the predatory mites, Neoseiulus womersleyi (Schicha) and Euseius ovalis (Evans), feeding on four tetranychid mites (Tetranychus urticae, Tetranychus kanzawai, Oligonychus mangiferus, Panonychus citri), maize pollen or Chinese loofah pollen was studied at 25 °C. Immature stages of N. womersleyi feeding on T. urticae and T. kanzawai had shorter developmental duration (4.71 and 5.02 days for females, 4.77 and 5.19 days for males, respectively) than those feeding on other food sources. Immature stages of E. ovalis females feeding on O. mangiferus and T. urticae developed in 4.99 and 5.13 days, respectively, the shortest developmental duration measured. Immature stages of E. ovalis males feeding on O. mangiferus and T. urticae developed in 5.12 and 5.37 days, respectively. The longevity of N. womersleyi males (13.31 to 14.51 days) and females (17.67 to 21.81 days) feeding on T. urticae, T. kanzawai or maize pollen was longer than the longevity of N. womersleyi feeding on O. mangiferus, P. citri or loofah pollen. E. ovalis males (12.91 to 16.74 days) and females (16.24 to 23.77 days) feeding on O. mangiferus, T. urticae or maize pollen lived longer than E. ovalis males and females feeding on T. kanzawai, P. citri or loofah pollen.  相似文献

Field-collected populations of mayflies, Ephemera orientalis were tested for susceptibility to 10 different insecticides using a direct-contact mortality bioassay. Ephemera orientalis subimagoes were susceptible to the insecticides chlorpyrifos, fenitrothion and chlorfenapyr with LD50 values of 69.7, 78.8 and 81.9 μg/♀, and adults had LD50 values of 71.9, 78.8 and 85.4 μg/♀, respectively. Susceptibility ratios (SRs) of subimagoes and adults of E. orientalis to the 10 insecticides were 1.0 to1.2 folds. The mayflies showed higher susceptibility to organophosphates than to pyrethroids. The SRs of Anopheles sinensis to E. orientalis were 514 to 1438 folds higher for organophosphates (LD50 values of 0.05 to 0.23 μg/♀) and 62 to 1155 folds higher for pyrethroids (LD50 values of 0.13 to 2.41 μg/♀). The SRs of Culex pipiens to E. orientalis were 606 to 3595 folds higher for organophosphates with LD50 values of 0.02–0.17 μg/♀ and 81 to 1365 folds higher for pyrethroids with LD50 values of 0.11–1.83 μg/♀. These results indicate that the use of ineffective insecticides will result in unsatisfactory control against field populations of the subimagoes and adults of E. orientalis.  相似文献

BackgroundQuality control of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has always been a hot issue to TCM. However, due to the complexity of TCM ingredients, the current quality standards of TCM have problems that are difficult to guarantee clinical efficacy. American ginseng, the dried roots of Pawajc quinquefolium L. (Araliaceae), is a valuable herbal medicine due to various pharmacological effects and huge health benefit, which are associated with numerous active ingredients such as ginsenosides. Although a large number of studies have investigated the active ingredients of American ginseng, Q-markers reflecting comprehensive review on its efficacies has yet been unrevealed.PurposeThe study aims to discover the Q-markers of Panax quinquefolius (American ginseng), provides a powerful method to clarify the significant ingredents of TCM and help further discovering extensive quality evaluation model,contributing to a significant improvement of TCM quality standard.MethodsMice general status, biochemical indexes assay, urine metabolic profile, and serum metabolic profile were utilized for model replication and efficacy evaluation. The in vitro and in vivo constituents of American ginseng using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS) with Serum Pharmacochemistry of TCM were in-depth investigated. Q-markers that were associated with core markers of therapeutic effects were excavated by a plotting of correlation between marker metabolites and serum constituents (PCMS) approach.ResultsCorrelation analysis of 41 blood and urine labeled metabolites with 14 serum components showed that 24-methyl-7-cholesten-3β-ol, zizybeoside II, betulin, ginsenoside Rd, cinnamyl alcohol, pseudoginsenoside F11 is highly correlated with the therapeutic effects of Compound Zaofan Pill (CZP), while pseudoginsenoside F11 and ginsenoside Rd are highly correlated with the therapeutic effects of American ginseng. The six absorbed blood compounds can be considered as potential Q-markers for compound, of which two compounds, such as pseudoginsenoside F11 and ginsenoside Rd, can be considered as potential Q-markers for American ginseng.ConclusionThe study has demonstrated that the Chinmedomics is an effective, comprehensive and fire-new method for discovering the Q-markers of TCM, and it may be more reasonable choices to establish quality standards of TCM.  相似文献

Beef cattle production represents the largest cattle population in Thailand. Their productivity is constrained by tick-borne diseases such as babesiosis and theileriosis. In this study, we determined the prevalence of Babesia bigemina, Babesia bovis and Theileria orientalis using polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The genetic markers that were used for detection of the above parasites were sequenced to determine identities and similarity for Babesia spp. and genetic diversity of T. orientalis. Furthermore the risk factors for the occurrence of the above protozoan parasites in beef cattle from northern and northeastern parts of Thailand were assessed. A total of 329 blood samples were collected from beef cattle in 6 provinces. The study revealed that T. orientalis was the most prevalent (30.1%) parasite in beef cattle followed by B. bigemina (13.1%) and B. bovis (5.5%). Overall, 78.7% of the cattle screened were infected with at least one of the above parasites. Co-infection with Babesia spp. and T. orientalis was 30.1%. B. bigemina and T. orientalis were the most prevalent (15.1%) co-infection although triple infection with the three parasites was observed in 3.0% of the samples. Sequencing analysis revealed that B. bigemina RAP1 gene and B. bovis SBP2 gene were conserved among the parasites from different cattle samples. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the T. orientalis MPSP gene from parasites isolated from cattle in north and northeast Thailand was classified into types 5 and 7 as reported previously. Lack of tick control program was the universal risk factor of the occurrence of Babesia spp. and T. orientalis infection in beef cattle in northern and northeastern Thailand. We therefore recommend training of farmers on appropriate tick control strategies and further research on potential vectors for T. orientalis and elucidate the effect of co-infection with Babesia spp. on the pathogenicity of T. orientalis infection on beef in northern and northeastern Thailand.  相似文献

The BBS2 gene plays a vital role in human obesity and fat deposition. However, little is known about it in beef cattle. Therefore, this study investigates the function of BBS2 in the fat deposition of beef cattle and screens the effective SNPs marker for meat quality traits in cattle breeding. The expression of BBS2 is negatively correlated with marbling ratios of beef cattle. Moreover, the knockdown of BBS2 promoted adipogenesis and lipid accumulation of bovine preadipocytes by stimulating PPARγ, FABP4, and FASN expression (P < 0.01). Four novel SNPs in the exons of BBS2 in Chinese Qinchuan cattle were identified and of which the g.24226239C > T (Q527), g.24223562G > A (V441I), and g.24227851A > G (Q627R) were significantly associated with the meat quality of Qinchuan cattle (P < 0.01, P < 0.05). The findings suggested that BBS2 could be used as a candidate gene for meat quality improvement in Qinchuan cattle. Furthermore, these genotypes can be exploited as molecular markers in future beef breeding projects.  相似文献

ObjectiveTaking leads from the available research, we aimed to develop a synergy-based herbal combination of Tinospora cordifolia (TC), Phyllanthus emblica (PE), and Piper nigrum (PN). Also, evaluating their synergistic effect on CP-induced immunosuppression in mice model and exploring the possible mechanisms involved in reversing the damage.MethodologyThe immunomodulatory activity of combination, of TC stem, PE fruits, and PN dried fruits, was determined by in vitro assays (splenocyte proliferation and pinocytic activity of peritoneal macrophages of mice) and in vivo study using CP-induced immunosuppression model in Swiss Albino mice. The ratio was optimized for combining three by in vitro MTT assay. The combination was further evaluated for anti-oxidant activity by DPPH scavenging method and quantified for its bioactive metabolites by HPTLC. Serum collected on day 0, 4, 7 and 14 was employed for estimation of haematogram (haematocrit, TLC, DLC, and haemoglobin, etc) and immune parameters (IL-10, IL-6 and TNF-α) by ELISA.ResultsThe study demonstrated, that combination of herbal extracts at an intermediate dose could inhibit the proliferation of spleen cells and peritoneal macrophages (P ≤ 0.0001) and induce suppression of pro-inflammatory mediators, and also certified that combination exerts synergized effects. The results showed that the combination possess potential antioxidant activity by DPPH scavenging method (IC50-113.5 µg/ml). It was identified that combination significantly (P ≤ 0.0001) improved the immune markers, haematogram parameters, and histological parameters, with maximum protection offered by an intermediate dose.ConclusionThe results suggested that present combination could be further explored clinically as potent synergy-based therapeutic approach for immune modulation.  相似文献

We molecularly characterized a new mutation in the GmFAD3A gene associated with low linolenic content in the Brazilian soybean cultivar CS303TNKCA and developed a molecular marker to select this mutation.

Abstract

Soybean is one of the most important crops cultivated worldwide. Soybean oil has 13% palmitic acid, 4% stearic acid, 20% oleic acid, 55% linoleic acid and 8% linolenic acid. Breeding programs are developing varieties with high oleic and low polyunsaturated fatty acids (linoleic and linolenic) to improve the oil oxidative stability and make the varieties more attractive for the soy industry. The main goal of this study was to characterize the low linoleic acid trait in CS303TNKCA cultivar. We sequenced CS303TNKCA GmFAD3A, GmFAD3B and GmFAD3C genes and identified an adenine point deletion in the GmFAD3A exon 5 (delA). This alteration creates a premature stop codon, leading to a truncated protein with just 207 residues that result in a non-functional enzyme. Analysis of enzymatic activity by heterologous expression in yeast support delA as the cause of low linolenic acid content in CS303TNKCA. Thus, we developed a TaqMan genotyping assay to associate delA with low linolenic acid content in segregating populations. Lines homozygous for delA had a linolenic acid content of 3.3 to 4.4%, and the variation at this locus accounted for 50.83 to 73.70% of the phenotypic variation. This molecular marker is a new tool to introgress the low linolenic acid trait into elite soybean cultivars and can be used to combine with high oleic trait markers to produce soybean with enhanced economic value. The advantage of using CS303TNKCA compared to other lines available in the literature is that this cultivar has good agronomic characteristics and is adapted to Brazilian conditions.

Habitat dispersion, diet and density can influence the per capita population growth of predators, and dispersed habitat can provide a spatial refuge that reduces the possibility of cannibalism among predators, thereby increasing their realized population growth rate. We tested the influence of variable habitat dispersion (dispersed patches, general patches and aggregated patches), two diets (Typha orientalis pollen and Ephestia kuehniella eggs) and initial predator density—one or two Amblydromalus limonicus (Garman and McGregor) (Acari: Phytoseiidae) founder females—on the population growth of A. limonicus in 7 days. Dispersed patches resulted in a higher total number of A. limonicus than the other two types of habitat dispersion from days 3–7 when fed on either of the diets, and started with either one or two A. limonicus females. Compared with E. kuehniella eggs, T. orientalis pollen resulted in more A. limonicus regardless of one or two founder females. Compared with two founder females, beginning with one founder female on pollen produced significantly more predatory mite females in dispersed and aggregated patches. A four-way ANOVA showed that the main effects indicated that habitat, diet, density, and time significantly influenced the number of immature and female A. limonicus. Significant interactions between habitat dispersion and diet were detected on immature and female A. limonicus. Our findings suggest that increasing the dispersion of artificial shelters on crop leaves may stimulate the control efficiency of predators in greenhouses. Furthermore, T. orientalis pollen provides a high nutritional quality supplemental diet that could enhance the ability of A. limonicus to control pests.  相似文献

PurposeTo assess target localization errors (TLEs) from implanted fiducial markers by three different centers of gravity (CG) and three different multiple regression analysis (MRA) approaches.MethodsThe three-dimensional (3D) positions of the markers were detected on the fluoroscopic images of 15 lung cancer patients, and the marker closest to the tumor was then assumed to be the target (Pt). The estimated target position (Pe) was calculated from three markers adjacent to the target (Pi, 1 ≤ i ≤ 3) using the equation Pe = aP1 + bP2 + cP3 + d. Pe was then calculated using three different CGs and three different MRAs. The TLE was calculated as the root-mean-square error of the difference between Pt and Pe calculated for each fraction. First, we compared the TLE of the first fraction to assess the intrafraction TLE of the six approaches tested. Second, interfraction TLEs were calculated to evaluate the robustness of the coefficients obtained in the first fraction. The interfraction TLE was defined as the difference between the TLE of a later and the first fraction.ResultsThe mean plus two times the standard deviation of the intrafraction TLE was up to 4.3 mm in the CG approaches, while the MRA approaches provided TLEs within 1.5 mm. The mean plus two times the standard deviation of the interfraction TLE did not exceed 1.7 mm in any direction using either approach.ConclusionsThe MRA approach was superior to the CG approach in terms of estimating the target position based on the implanted fiducial markers.  相似文献
