A new species of Alchemilla L. (Rosaceae), A. reflexa Frost‐Ols., is described and illustrated. A. reflexa is characterized by deflexed indumentum on petioles and stems, orbicular leaves with imbricate basal lobes and crimson‐magenta coloured basal stipules. It is distributed in the Massif Central, France, where it is widespread, and in northeastern Pyrenees (déps. Ariège and Aude). A. reflexa is compared with two species previously recorded from the Massif Central with doubt, A. exigua Buser and A. strigosula Buser and with A. filicaulis Buser that can be misidentified as A. reflexa in the field. An introduction to past treatments of Alchemilla in the Massif Central is provided as well as a discussion of some morphological elements used for delimiting Alchemilla taxa.  相似文献

Ambystoma platineum, a unisexual clonal triploid taxon of mole salamander, originated by hybridization between the Mendelian species A. jeffersonianum and A. laterale. Studies of lampbrush chromosomes indicated that A. platineum reproduces gynogenetically, that is, sperm from a sexual host species is required to activate egg development but makes no genetic contribution to the developing embryo. Nevertheless, electrophoretic diversity in populations of some hybrid Ambystoma suggested continual in situ recreation of unisexual hybrids and bidirectional gene exchange between the parental species and the hybrids. A. platineum usually lives with, and is sexually dependent on, one of its parental species, A. jeffersonianum. In central Indiana, however, A. platineum populations have shifted their host dependency to A. texanum. Such A. texanum-dependent populations of A. platineum provide an almost ideal system for studying reproductive mode in A. platineum, because both replacement of a jeffersonianum or laterale genome of A. platineum by a texanum genome, and movement of genes from A. platineum to the host species, A. texanum, would be readily detected by electrophoretic markers. Our samples of A. texanum provided no evidence for the transfer of jeffersonianum or laterale genes into A. texanum. Similarly, among 32 A. platineum sampled from six localities in east-central Illinois and central Indiana, we find no texanum alleles, and thus no evidence for genome replacement. The one diploid hybrid individual contained only a jeffersonianum and a laterale genome; because of the absence of either parental species from these populations, this hybrid could only have come from a diploid ovum produced by A. platineum. Both morphometric and electrophoretic results for the two tetraploid individuals indicate that they resulted from fertilization of triploid oocytes of A. platineum by sperm of A. texanum. Because genome replacement in A. texanum-dependent populations of A. platineum is irreversible, the persistence of A. platineum in A. texanum-dependent populations demonstrates conclusively that the major mode of reproduction in A. platineum populations is clonal: A. platineum produces mainly triploid eggs that develop gynogenetically.  相似文献

A species complex of the large genus Aralichus Gaud (Pterolichoidea, Pterolichidae) is restricted to Central and South American parrots of the genus Brotogeris Vigors. Aralichus porrectus (Mégnin & Trouessart) from Brotogeris jugularis (Müller) is redescribed, and five new species are described: A. chrysopteri from B. chrysopterus (L.), A. cyanopterae from B. cyanoptera (Salvadori), A. crassisetosus and A. sanctithomae from B. sanctithomae (Müller), and A. tiricae from B. tirica (Gmelin). A new subspecies,A. grandiflora subsp.gomarica (Caryophyllaceae), is described from the mountains of northern Morocco. The new taxon is tetraploid and has been confused in the past either with the Balearic endemicA. grandiflora subsp.glabrescens or with the widespreadA. grandiflora subsp.grandiflora, which is also present in the African continent. Detailed morphological analysis showed that plants from the Rif mountains are closely related toA. grandiflora subsp.glabrescens, but differ from it in having a longer calyx, smaller seed size, and a glandular indument on pedicels, leaves and calyx.Arenaria grandiflora subsp.gomarica can be distinguished from all infraspecific taxa of theA. grandiflora complex by the combined presence of a heterotrichous (simple and pluricellular eglandular hairs, glandular hairs) indument on the inflorescences and glandular hairs on the calyx.  相似文献

Abstract. A phylogeny for genus Agapostemon (Hymenoptera: Halictidae) is reconstructed from morphological characters, using all species, with four representatives of Agapostemonini as outgroup taxa. Parsimony analysis using 150 unordered characters resulted in eighteen equally parsimonious trees, a strict consensus of which is highly resolved for Agapostemon. Based on this analysis, Agapostemonoides Roberts & Brooks is returned to generic status, and a new subgenus is described: Notagapostemon, which includes the rhopalocerus, heterurus, atrocaeruleus, erebus, kohliellus, nasutus and intermedius groups of Moure & Hurd. Species groups are proposed for Notagapostemon and revised in A. (Agapostemon). Agapostemon cockerelli Crawford is synonymized with A. obliquus (Provancher), A. epichryseus (Morelos) with A. leunculus Vachal, A. inca Roberts with A. heterurus Cockerell, A. hispaniolicus Roberts female with A. centratus (Vachal) and A. hispaniolicus Roberts male with A. alayoi Roberts. Optimization of known behaviours suggests communal ancestry for the genus and infers the prevalence of this behaviour in Agapostemon. Optimization of geographical range suggests a Central American or Caribbean origin of Agapostemon, with one invasion of North America and multiple invasions of South America and the Caribbean. One invasion of the Caribbean suggests arrival from North America via Florida.  相似文献

Summary Biosystematic studies encompassing morphocytological and electrophoretic analyses of Cajanus cajan, seven species of Atylosia and one of Rhynchosia revealed that A. cajanifolia is closest to C. cajan, followed by A. lineata, A. scarabaeoides, A. sericea, A. albicans, A. volubilis, A. platycarpa and R. rothii, in that order. A revision has been suggested for the taxonomic placement of the seven Atylosia species. Regarding the evolution of cultivated C. cajan, three possible alternatives have been suggested. Firstly, C. cajan could have evolved through gene mutation in A. cajanifolia; secondly, some of the Atylosia species and pigeonpea probably evolved from the same source; and thirdly, the pigeonpea might have developed from naturally occurring interspecific crosses of A. lineata and A. scarabaeoides.  相似文献

The Korean shoot fly genus Atherigona Rondani is reviewed taxonomically. A total of five species was identified: A. (Acritochaeta) orientalis Schiner, A. (Atherigona) biseta Karl, A. (Atherigona) falcata (Thomson), A. (Atherigona) oryzae Malloch, and A. (Atherigona) bifurca sp. nov. Of these, A. (Atherigona) bifurca sp. nov. is new to science, and A. (Atherigona) biseta Karl and A. (Atherigona) falcata (Thomson) are reported for the first time in Korea. A key to Korean species and photographs of external features are provided.  相似文献

Aralia, described by Linnaeus, remains a poorly defined genus. Many satellite genera ofAralia have been proposed, and some have been accepted without critical evaluation. These genera includeCoudenbergia, Megalopanax, Parapentapanax, andPentapanax. This study examined the historical background of the establishment of these genera and their diagnostic characters. It was found that (1)Aralia s. str. is a relatively diverse genus; (2) the separation ofPentapanax andParapentapanax fromAralia is unsubstantiated; (3)Megalopanax is synonymous withCoudenbergia; and (4) the boundaries betweenAralia and bothCoudenbergia andPentapanax intergrade. It is proposed, therefore, to mergeCoudenbergia, Parapentapanax, andPentapanax withAralia, which has nomenclatural priority.Aralia is herein defined as consisting of those species in Araliaceae with pinnate leaves, articulated rachises, five to eight-merous flowers, petals imbricate in buds, and articulated pedicels. The revised generic concept requires the following new combinations or new names:Aralia castanopsisicola, A. franchetti, A. gigantea, A. laevis, A. leschenaultii, A. parasitica, A. rex, A. subcordata, A. verticillata, andA. warmingiana.  相似文献

A new digenean, Allassogonoporus callosciuri n. sp. from the plantain squirrel Callosciurus notatus from the Malaysian state of Sarawak, Borneo, is described. The new species differs from: A. amphoraeformis by the size of the ventral sucker and the position of the vitellarium and uterus; and from A. marginalis by the smaller oral sucker, the position of the testes and vitellarium; from A. vespertilionis by the position of the vitellarium, testes and ovary; from A. asymmetrica by the position of the testes and uterus. Gilford's (1955) and Dubois' (1963) opinions on the synonymy of Allassogonoporus and Myotitrema is supported. No representatives of the family Allassogonoporidae have been reported previously from sciurids or South-East Asia.  相似文献

In oilseed rape (Brassica napus), the glucosyltransferase UGT84A9 catalyzes the formation of 1-O-sinapoyl-β-glucose, which feeds as acyl donor into a broad range of accumulating sinapate esters, including the major antinutritive seed component sinapoylcholine (sinapine). Since down-regulation of UGT84A9 was highly efficient in decreasing the sinapate ester content, the genes encoding this enzyme were considered as potential targets for molecular breeding of low sinapine oilseed rape. B. napus harbors two distinguishable sequence types of the UGT84A9 gene designated as UGT84A9-1 and UGT84A9-2. UGT84A9-1 is the predominantly expressed variant, which is significantly up-regulated during the seed filling phase, when sinapate ester biosynthesis exhibits strongest activity. In the allotetraploid genome of B. napus, UGT84A9-1 is represented by two loci, one derived from the Brassica C-genome (UGT84A9a) and one from the Brassica A-genome (UGT84A9b). Likewise, for UGT84A9-2 two loci were identified in B. napus originating from both diploid ancestor genomes (UGT84A9c, Brassica C-genome; UGT84A9d, Brassica A-genome). The distinct UGT84A9 loci were genetically mapped to linkage groups N15 (UGT84A9a), N05 (UGT84A9b), N11 (UGT84A9c) and N01 (UGT84A9d). All four UGT84A9 genomic loci from B. napus display a remarkably low micro-collinearity with the homologous genomic region of Arabidopsis thaliana chromosome III, but exhibit a high density of transposon-derived sequence elements. Expression patterns indicate that the orthologous genes UGT84A9a and UGT84A9b should be considered for mutagenesis inactivation to introduce the low sinapine trait into oilseed rape.  相似文献

Aster ascendens Lindl. is a rhizomatous perennial of the Great Basin region of the western United States, with a chromosome base number of x = 13. Populations in the southern and western parts of the range are mainly diploid (n = 13) and those in the north and east are mainly tetraploid (n = 26). This species is postulated to be an amphiploid which has resulted from hybridization between the western Cordilleran A. occidentalis (T. & G.) Hook, and the Great Plains species A. falcatus Lindl. Aster ascendens is intermediate between these two species in most morphological traits, but resembles A. occidentalis in ray color and general growth habit, and A. falcatus in the shape of the outer phyllaries. The karyotype of A. ascendens also exhibits a combination of the features found in A. occidentalis and A. falcatus karyotypes. Of the specimens collected for this study, 13% were putative backcrosses of A. ascendens to one of its parent taxa or to a closely related species; this suggests that there is potentially continuing genetic interchange between the species groups that gave rise to A. ascendens.  相似文献

Although the majority of Assara (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) larvae feed on pinaceous cones, Assara balanophorae Sasaki & Tanaka is known to infest the infructescence of the holoparasitic plant Balanophora tobiracola Makino (Santalales: Balanophoraceae). Here, we report additional feeding ecology of A. balanophorae. We found that A. balanophorae larvae bored into the infructescence of the holoparasitic plant Mitrastemon yamamotoi Makino (Ericales: Mitrastemonaceae), pushing frass to the outside from small holes, and occasionally exited from the holes and consumed the scale leaves. Although Mitrastemon is distantly related to Balanophora at the order level, both plants could present a similar resource for A. balanophorae, due to their convergent holoparasitic characteristics. Given that A. balanophorae is considered as the brood‐site pollinator of Balanophora, rather than only parasitizing it, the morphological and ecological similarities between M. yamamotoi and Balanophora might suggest that the relationship between M. yamamotoi and A. balanophorae is also brood‐site pollination mutualism.  相似文献

Chromosome numbers are presented for 99 populations of 13 species of Antennaria, including A. plantaginifolia, A. neglecta, A. virginica, A. solitaria, A. racemosa, A. corymbosa. A. rosea, A. media, A. Parlinii, A. fallax, A. neodioica, A. canadensis, and A. petaloidea. Four species from the eastern United States (A. plantaginifolia, A. neglecta, A. solitaria, and A. virginica) were determined as diploid (n = 14), and these are all sexual. Diploid counts were also obtained for two sexual species (A. racemosa and A. corymbosa) from the western United States. Chromosome counts are presented for two heteroploid agamic complexes occurring in the eastern United States; these include what have traditionally been referred to as A. Parlinii, A. fallax, A. neodioica, A. canadensis, and A. petaloidea. Determinations of 2n = 56, 70, 84, and 112 were obtained for the A. Parlinii and A. fallax groups, where 2n = 84 had been the only number previously reported. Numbers of 2n = 84 were confirmed for A. petaloidea and A. canadensis and 2n = 56 for A. neodioica. The western United States polyploid species (A. rosea and A. media) are reported as 2n = 56. The presence of apomixis is correlated with polyploidy. The distribution of chromosome numbers in eastern United States Antennaria demonstrates that two diploids and many polyploids occur above the glacial margin, and thus there is an increase in the frequency of polyploidy with latitude. Colonization of the glaciated region by Antennaria following the recession of the Wisconsin ice sheet is also discussed. Many of the polyploids occur only in the glaciated region, thus suggesting a recent origin for these cytotypes. There is evidence indicating that the original base number in Antennaria may be x = 7.  相似文献

Genus Agnetina Klapálek, 1907 is removed from synonymy with Dinocras Klapálek, 1907 and synonymy between Agnetina and Phasganophora Klapálek, 1914 is established. A list of presently recognised nominal species of Agnetina is provided. For all west palaearctic species, i.e., A. elegantula (Klapálek), A. senilis Klapálek, A. werneri (Kempny), comb, n., lectotypes are designated. Distinctive characters of these three species are described, external male genitalia and eggs are illustrated. Asian A. brevipennis (Navás), comb, n., is briefly compared. A. dubia nom. n. is proposed to replace A. brevipennis Klapálek, 1921 (not Navás, 1912), a doubtful Asian species. A. pedata (Koponen, 1949) and A. undaata (Klapálek, 1921) are considered possible synonyms of A. senilis. which is for the first time recorded from Central Asia (Baikal area).  相似文献
