A new species of leafhopper Paradorydium kirkaldyi sp. nov. (from Himachal Pradesh: Kinnaur: Powri) from India, is described. Detailed photographic illustration, annotated checklist and modified key to the species of India is also provided. This species closely resembles P. khasianum Viraktamath but differs in male genitalia characters and molecular analysis using COI gene confirmed the difference and also the taxonomic positon of species in the tribe is established with Histone H3 gene.http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:066F6658-ABB4-4585-A4DF-D8735A0230B5  相似文献

Simulium (Gomphostilbia) agasthyamalaiense sp. nov. is described based on adults, pupae and mature larvae from a medium-flowing stream of Southern Western Ghats, India. This new species is placed in the Simulium batoense species-group of the subgenus Gomphostilbia Enderlein. This new species is characterized in the female by a scutum with three brownish-black longitudinal vittae and the hind basitarsus 5.7 times as long as wide; in the female by the large facets of upper eye with 20 vertical columns and 19 horizontal rows; in the pupa the respiratory gill with medium-long common basal stalk; and in the larva arrowhead-shaped postgenal cleft. Taxonomic notes are provided for this new species and it can be distinguished from closely related species of S. (G.) peteri. Keys are constructed to distinguish this species from ten species of the batoense species-group recorded in India.www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:1D1CFEE5-A762-4F68-9EAE-9E31133146C0  相似文献

Macquaridrilus mcmurtrieae n. sp. is described from Campbell Island. This resembles the only other species in the genus, Macquaridrilus bennettae Jamieson, 1968, in most aspects, but shows significant differences in the anatomy of its genitalia. In particular, the spermathecal pores are dorsal rather than lateral, the spermathecae lack diverticulae, the ejaculatory duct is more stout and muscular, the vas deferens is shorter relative to other organs and the anterior prostate is compact rather than elongate. The presence of a cuticular sperm canal appears to be an apomorphy for the genus. The new species was collected from streams and tarns across the island.

The paper deals with a new leafhopper species from Southern China, Japanagallia confusasp. nov., previously misidentified as J. hamataZhang and Li, 1999 by Viraktamath et al., 2012. The species is described and figured and compared to the similar J. hamata and J. neohamata Li et al. 2014.www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:6BABEE67-3F22-4A47-A2C0-27112C6835FA  相似文献

The family Palaeosetidae is newly recorded from mainland China. A new species of the genus Ogygioses, O. maoershana sp. nov., is described from Guangxi Province, China. The adults, male and female genitalia, venation, head and legs structures are illustrated. Some ecological information and a key to all species of the genus are also provided. The phylogenetic position of the new species in the genus Ogygioses is inferred as intermediate between primitive O. luangensis Kristensen and other four derived species based on morphological characters and DNA barcodes sequences.www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:D1FD6818-500A-4AE1-9F0B-13CB5A6E1ED4.  相似文献

Sinodima gen. nov., a new genus in the click-beetle tribe Dimini Candèze, 1863 from the mountains in Hunan, China, is described and figured here to accommodate S. jenisi sp. nov. The new genus is easily recognizable from all other Dimini by the following combination of characters: short antennomeres II and III; transverse pronotum with inconspicuous anterior angles; arcuate prosternal process; mesoventrite with straight frontal margin and oblique and straight sides; absent hind wings; and absent sclerites or spines in the bursa copulatrix. Additionally, we compare Sinodima gen. nov. with the morphologically similar genera, and discuss the systematic position of this genus within Dimini.www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:91F22A25-E1F1-4EC4-B3EF-5D632B83FDE5  相似文献

Four species of the genus Stibadocerella Brunetti, 1918 were previously known from the world. Here one new species, Stibadocerella shennongensis Zhang & Yang, sp. nov. is reported from Hubei, China. New record Stibadocerella pristina Brunetti, 1918 from Hainan, China is re-described and illustrated. Two new black fly species, Simulium (Simulium) pothigaiense sp. n. and Simulium (Simulium) valparaiense sp. n., are described based on females, males, pupae and larvae. Simulium (Simulium) pothigaiense sp. n. is characterized by a claw simple without subbasal tooth and the base of radial vein with hair tuft in the females, maxillary palp with small sensory vesicle in the males, pupal gill with 10 short slender filaments and very short common basal stalk in the pupae and 5 hypostomal bristles per side lying parallel to lateral margin in the larvae. Simulium (Simulium) valparaiense sp. n. is characterized by hind basitarsus 6.6 times as long as its greatest width and claw with small distinct subbasal tooth in the females, gonostyle in medial view 2.3 times longer than coxite in the males, common basal stalk of pupal gill 0.31 times as long as interspiracular trunk, and larval thoracic and abdominal cuticle with pair of dorsolateral protuberances. Taxonomic notes are given to distinguish these two new species from closely related species. www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:7285F6BC-607D-4F76-B6EE-9CAC67CDE651  相似文献

Until recently only 33 species of spiders had been known from Iraq. New material collected in northern Iraq reveals 20 species, 13 genera and six families new to the country. One species, Pterotricha arzhantsevi sp. n. is described as new to science. Comparative figures are provided for seven species; the 54 species currently known from Iraq are listed and their occurrence in neighbouring Iran and Turkey is shown.

The genus Bothynogria Borchmann, 1915 is reviewed, with a key to all known seven species provided in the present paper. A new species Bothynogria nigripennis sp. n., and two new record species for China, Bothynogria bicolor (Kollar et Redtenbacher, 1848) and Bothynogria meghalayana Merkl, 1990, are identified and redescribed. The habitus, male antennae and aedeagus are photographed and presented for all known species except for Bothynogria bhutanica. Ecological information and intraspecific variations are also provided for Bothynogria calcarata.www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:5D8BFBCD-73AF-4AD4-94DE-3F24ECE31C1D.  相似文献

The genus Bicyclus is one of the largest groups of African butterflies, but due to the generally cryptic nature and seasonal variation of adult wing patterns, there has been a lot of systematic confusion. With a large research community working with the model species Bicyclus anynana there has been increasing interest in the evolutionary history of the genus. A previous phylogeny started to unravel interesting patterns, but only included 61% of the then known species. With a range of new species having been described in the last decade there has been a need for an updated phylogeny for the genus. We present the most complete phylogeny of Bicyclus yet, including 93% of the currently 103 recognized species and make a range of taxonomic revisions. We revise the status of four previous subspecies and synonymized taxa that in the light of the new genetic data are raised to species level. We also subsume two subspecies and describe a new species, Bicyclus collinsi sp. nov., based on both genetic and morphological evidence. A further new taxon is identified, but not described at this point due to lack of morphological data. Our phylogeny lays a solid foundation for better understanding the evolution of Bicyclus and highlights key species-groups and complexes with intriguing ecological patterns making them prime candidates for future studies.
