A series of mononuclear complexes with Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Hg(II), Mo(VI) and Pd(II) containing the ligand derived from the 1:2 condensation of 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenol and 5,6-diamino-1,3-dimethyluracil (hereafter denoted as BDFDAAU) were synthesized. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, thermogravimetry (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), IR, (1)H, (13)C and (15)N NMR, UV-visible-near IR (UV-VIS-NIR), EPR and magnetic measurements. The deprotonated ligand in the phenolic oxygen shows a symmetric tridentate coordination mode through the two azomethine nitrogen atoms and the phenolic oxygen atom whereas the coordination of the neutral ligand takes place through the phenolic oxygen atom and one azomethine nitrogen atom. In the Mo(VI) complex, the ligand is bideprotonated in the phenolic oxygen and an amino group from one uracil unit; so, the coordination mode changes again into an asymmetric way: phenolic oxygen atom, one azomethine nitrogen atom and the nitrogen atom from the deprotonated amino group. The antiproliferative behaviour against the five human tumor cell lines (human neuroblastoma NB69, human breast cancer MCF-7 and EVSA-T, human glioma H4 and human bladder carcinoma cell line ECV) suggested a modulator behaviour, according to the concentration, of cell growth due to their estrogen-like characteristics.  相似文献

Four new square-planar Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes with [N2O2] binding system were synthesized by metal-directed condensation of 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenol with benzoyl or acetylacetone mono-S-methylisothiosemicarbazone. Only mononuclear “one-armed” complexes were obtained as a consequence of the different reactivity of the two carbonyl groups in the hydroxydialdehyde. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, EI MS and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The structural assignment was confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis and NMR spectroscopy, for the Ni(II) complexes, and by ESR spectroscopy and magnetic measurements, for the Cu(II) complexes.  相似文献

A novel series of Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Co(II), and Cd(II) complexes have been synthesized from the Schiff base. Structural features were determined by analytical and spectral techniques like IR, 1H NMR, UV–vis, elemental analysis, molar electric conductibility, magnetic susceptibility and thermal studies. The complexes are found to be soluble in dimethylformamide and dimethylsulfoxide. Molar conductance values in dimethylformamide indicate the non-electrolytic nature of the complexes. Binding of synthesized complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT DNA) was studied. There is significant binding of DNA in lanes 2, 3, and 5. Lanes 4 and 6 are showing more florescence when compared to the control indicating that these molecules are strongly bound to the DNA by inserting themselves between the two stacked base pairs and exhibiting their original property of fluorescence. Angiogenesis study has revealed that the compounds B-2, B-4 and B-5 have potent antitumor efficacy and activation of antiangiogenesis could be one of the possible underlying mechanisms of tumor inhibition.  相似文献

The synthetic, spectroscopic, and biological studies of Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Co(II), Mn(II), Fe(III) and Cr(III) complexes of N(4)-(7'-chloroquinolin-4'-ylamino)-N(1)-(2-hydroxy-benzylidene)thiosemicarbazone (HL) obtained by the reaction of N(4)-(7'-chloroquinolin-4'-ylamino)thiosemicarbazide with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde. The structures of the complexes were determined on the basis of the elemental analyses, spectroscopic data (IR, electronic, (1)H and (13)C NMR and Mass spectra) along with magnetic susceptibility measurements, molar conductivity and thermogravimetric analyses. Electrical conductance measurement revealed the non-electrolytic nature of the complexes. The resulting colored products are mononuclear in nature. On the basis of the above studies, only one ligand was suggested to be coordinated to each metal atom by thione sulfur, azomethine nitrogen and phenolic oxygen to form mononuclear complexes in which the thiosemicarbazone behaves as a monobasic tridendate ligand. The ligand and its metal complexes were tested against Gram + ve bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus), Gram - ve bacteria (Escherichia coli), fungi (Candida albicans) and (Fusarium solani). The tested compounds exhibited significant activity.  相似文献

Schiff bases have been prepared from 5-formyl-barbituric acid and 5-formyl-1,3-dimethyl-barbituric acid and various di- or tri-amines. The structures of the corresponding copper(II) complexes have been established by elemental analysis and spectroscopic methods. The molecular structure of one of the complexes, Cu(DiMeBardpt), was determined by X-ray diffraction. Electrochemical study shows that these complexes are reduced at slightly more negative potentials than the corresponding complexes obtained from uracil, which suggests that these new ligands are better electron-donors.  相似文献

The mononuclear cationic cobalt(III) complex 1 [Co(L)2]+ [where HL is H2N(CH2)2NC(Ph)C6H2(Me)(OH)COPh] has been obtained by the condensation of 4-methyl-2,6-dibenzoylphenol and ethane-1,2-diamine in the presence of CoCl2 · 6H2O and isolated as the chloride solvate {1 · Cl · 2H2O · EtOH}. The water and ethanol do not form part of the cobalt(III) pseudo-octahedral [Co(L)2]+ coordination sphere, which is cis-CoN4O2 with the NNO-ligands mer. Compound 1 has been characterised by mass spectrometry, IR, electronic, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, conductivity measurements, elemental analysis, TGA, cyclic voltammetry and an X-ray structural determination. The average Co-N and Co-O distances are, respectively, 1.929(4) and 1.882(3) Å. The N?N intraligand bite distance is 2.73(4) Å and the N-Co-N and O-Co-O angles are, respectively, 86.2(15)° and 93.3(13)°. Cyclic voltammetric studies of complex 1 indicate an irreversible cathodic peak (Epc, ca. −0.61 V) corresponding to the reduction of cobalt(III) to cobalt(II). Absorption titration experiments gave a binding constant for DNA interaction of 1.4 × 104 M−1 and a binding site size 0.16 base pairs.  相似文献

Novel calix[4]pyrrole bearing vic-dioxime ligand (LH2) of the general formula, R1R2C2N2O2H2 (where, R1 = C6H5- and R2 = C39H50N5-) has been synthesized by the reaction of anti-chlorophenylglyoxime with 3-aminophenylcalix[4]pyrrole at room temperature. The mononuclear Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II)complexes of this vic-dioxime ligand were prepared and their structures were confirmed by elemental analysis, FT-IR, TGA and magnetic susceptibility measurements; the HMBC, DEPT, 1H and 13C NMR spectra of the LH2 ligand were also reported. The electrochemical property of the complexes was investigated in DMSO by cyclic voltammetry at 200 mV s−1 scan rate. The cyclic voltammetric measurements clearly indicated that Co(LH)2·2H2O complex differs from the Ni(LH)2 and Cu(LH)2 complexes upon the exhibition of quasi-reversible one-electron transfer reduction process in the negative region instead of an irreversible process.  相似文献

A new ligand (HL) obtained from the Schiff base condensation of 4-(diethylamino)salicylaldehyde with 4-nitroaniline is reported, with its nickel(II), copper(II), and cobalt(II) complexes. The crystal structures are reported for the four derivatives. While, NiIIL2 and CuIIL2 are centrosymmetric molecules, CoIIL2 exhibits a pseudo-tetrahedral molecular structure. The quadratic hyperpolarizabilities (β) of HL and CoIIL2, measured by electric field induced second harmonic (EFISH) technique, are equal to 66 and 110 × 10−30 cm5 esu−1, respectively. Beside a geometric effect (pseudo-Td symmetry), the coordination of the metal center provides an intrinsic enhancement of the NLO response. In addition, an enhancement of the thermal stability of about 60° is found upon metal complexation.  相似文献

A linear trinuclear copper(II) complex (1), prepared from a new Schiff base ligand, namely the dianion of 4-chloro-6-(hydroxymethyl)-2-((3-aminopropylimino)methyl)-phenol, was synthesized and characterized in this paper. The X-ray structural study reveals that the geometry of the central Cu2 ion is elongated octahedral and that of the two side Cu(II) ions is distorted square pyramidal. The magnetic susceptibility measurements from 2 to 300 K reveal medium antiferromagnetic interactions between the Cu(II) ions with a J value of −64.6(1) cm−1.  相似文献

Adverse biological activities of thiosemicarbazone (TSC) and Schiff base (SB) derivatives have been widely studied in rats and in other animal species using different doses, times and routes of administration. However, there are few studies describing changes in some biochemical parameters in vivo which are indicative of oxidative stress in biological systems and of morphological changes of tissues. In this study, the rats were injected subcutaneously with a new thiosemicarbazone thiazole ring containing a Schiff base (LH) and its Cu(L)2 and Zn(L)2 complexes (25 mg kg(-1) body weight) and then sacrificed after 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 and 64 days. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the new compounds on the serum antioxidant vitamins (A, E, C), selenium (Se), malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, erythrocyte GSH-Px enzyme activity and morphological changes in the liver, kidney and adrenal gland tissues. It was observed that erythrocyte GSH-Px activity, serum MDA and vitamins A, E concentrations were statistically changed (p < 0.02), but serum levels of selenium, and vitamin C were not changed. In conclusion, the parameters measured show that Cu(L)2 caused considerable oxidative stress and Zn(L)2 behaved as an antioxidant. No oxidative stress in LH was observed compared to the control group.  相似文献
