The objective of this paper was to establish the normal findings of B-mode and color Doppler ultrasound of the forearm arteries in candidates for coronary artery bypass grafting with radial artery graft. Examination of radial and ulnar arteries was performed in 127 patients. The vessel diameters and peak systolic velocities were measured and the presence of atherosclerotic changes, calcifications and anatomical variants was assessed. Radial artery proved to be dominant forearm artery with non-significant side-to-side asymmetry. The luminal changes were present in 30% of the patients. Ulnar arteries were more prone to these changes than radial arteries (28.4% vs. 24.4%). The anatomical variants found included ulnar artery hypoplasia in 3.9% of patients and high brachial artery bifurcation in 2.4% of patients. No cases of high-grade stenosis or occlusion were found. The results of the present study indicate that B-mode and color Doppler are valuable methods for preoperative screening as they enable morphological and functional evaluation of the forearm circulation.  相似文献

To elucidate the accumulation of elements in the arteries with aging, the authors investigated age-related changes of elements in human arteries, such as the thoracic aorta, femoral, basilar, coronary, radial, and common iliac arteries by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry. The subjects consisted of 17 men and 9 women, ranging in age from 55 to 92 yr in the cases of the five arteries, except for the common iliac arteries, in which the subjects consisted of 16 men and 8 women, ranging in age from 65 to 93 yr. It was found that there were significantly direct correlations between calcium and phosphorus contents and between calcium and magnesium contents in all of the six arteries: thoracic aorta, femoral, basilar, coronary, radial, and common iliac arteries. Significantly direct correlations were also found between phosphorus and magnesium contents in the five arteries, except for the basilar artery. In contrast, significantly inverse correlations were found between calcium and sulfur contents and between phosphorus and sulfur contents in the four arteries, except for the coronary and radial arteries. These revealed that the accumulation of calcium and phosphorus in the arteries was accompanied by an increase of magnesium in the arteries and by a decrease of sulfur in the arteries.  相似文献

The aim of the present study was to determine variability of aluminum (Al) accumulation in human arteries and to observe the relationship between Al and five other elements (Ca, Fe, Mg, P, and Si) in the arteries. The Al contents in the thoracic aorta, basilar, coronary, femoral, and radial arteries of 26 human subjects were estimated by an inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometer and compared quantitatively to five elements. Al was detected in 88% of the cases in both the femoral and radial arteries, 73% in the coronary artery, 58% in the aorta, and 31% in the basilar artery. The average Al content was highest in the femoral artery (48.3 ± 15.0 μg/g dry weight) and lowest in the basilar artery (8.1 ± 3.6 μg/g). The Al had positive correlations with P, Ca, or Mg in both the aorta and femoral artery, and with Ca or P in the basilar artery. In the coronary artery, a correlation was found between Al and Si. No relationships were found between Al and each of the five elements in the radial artery. From these results, Al varied widely among the five arteries and accumulated more in the femoral and radial arteries but less in the basilar artery. These accumulations of Al were positively correlated with Ca or P in several arteries, but not sufficiently to explain the accumulation of Al. Further investigations are required to understand the mechanism of the variability of Al accumulation in the arteries.  相似文献

To elucidate quantitative changes of Ca, P, and Mg in the arteries with aging, the authors investigated changes of the mass ratios of Mg to Ca and P in the arteries of Japanese and Thai by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry. The arteries of Japanese that were used were the thoracic and abdominal aortas, coronary, common iliac, internal iliac, external iliac, and femoral arteries, in which very high accumulations of Ca and P occurred in old age. The arteries of Thai that were used were the abdominal aorta, ramifying site of the abdominal aorta, coronary, common iliac, internal iliac, and external iliac arteries. It was found that there were extremely significant correlations both between Ca and Mg contents and between P and Mg contents in all of the arteries of the Japanese and the Thai. With regard to the mass ratio, the mass ratios of Mg to Ca ranged from 1.5% to 2.1% in the six arteries of the Japanese, except for the thoracic aorta at 3.1%, at an advanced stage of atherosclerosis, being similar to each other. In the arteries of the Thai, the mass ratios of Mg to Ca ranged from 1.9% to 3.0%, except for the coronary artery at 0.5%, at an advanced stage of atherosclerosis. The mass ratios of Mg to P ranged from 2.5% to 2.7% in the six arteries of the Japanese, except for the coronary artery at 1.8%, at an advanced stage of atherosclerosis. With regard to the arteries of the Thai, the mass ratios of Mg to P ranged from 1.9% to 3.3%, except for the coronary artery at 0.7%, at an advanced stage of atherosclerosis. These results revealed that both the mass ratios of Mg to Ca and Mg to P were almost similar among the arteries of Japanese and Thai, except for the coronary arteries. Therefore, these results suggested that the inorganic deposits in the coronary arteries of Japanese and Thai were similar to those in the intimal tunica of the thoracic aorta, whereas in the other arteries, they were similar to those in the middle tunica of the thoracic aorta.  相似文献

To elucidate whether the accumulation of elements occurred simultaneously in the various arteries with aging, the authors investigated age-related changes of elements in the eight arteries, such as the thoracic and abdominal aortas and the coronary, common carotid, pulmonary, splenic, common iliac, and uterine arteries, and the relationships in the element contents among their arteries. After ordinary dissection by medical students was finished, the thoracic and abdominal aortas and the coronary, common carotid, pulmonary, splenic, common iliac, and uterine arteries were resected from the subjects, who ranged in age from 58 to 94 yr. The element contents were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry. It was found that the accumulation of Ca was the highest in the common iliac artery and decreased in the order of the uterine artery, abdominal aorta, coronary artery, thoracic aorta, splenic artery, common carotid artery, and pulmonary artery. Regarding the relationships in the element contents among the eight arteries, it was found that there were significant direct correlations in the contents of Ca, P, Mg, Zn, Fe, and Na between the coronary and splenic arteries, and there were significant correlations in the contents of Ca, P, and Mg between the abdominal aorta and pulmonary artery.  相似文献

Methods for the stepwise isolation of endothelial cells and smooth muscle cells from individual canine coronary arteries are described. Both cell types can be isolated in pure culture with high yields. Dogs are a common species used in the study of atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease. Capacity to isolate endothelial cells and smooth muscle cells from individual canine coronary arteries should prove useful in the study of coronary artery disease.  相似文献

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the impact of long-term estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) on the vasodilatory effect of the two peptides vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) and pituitary adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide (PACAP) in atherosclerotic coronary and cerebral arteries.Female ovariectomized homozygous Watanabe heritable hyperlipidemic rabbits were randomized to 16 weeks treatment with 17beta-estradiol or placebo. The diet was semisynthetic, thereby avoiding the influence of phytoestrogens. Artery ring segments were mounted for isometric tension recordings in myographs. Following precontraction, the dose-response relationships for VIP and PACAP were evaluated.Treatment with 17beta-estradiol significantly improved the maximum VIP-mediated vasodilation (E(max), percentage of precontraction) in proximal coronary arteries (45.8+/-9.6% vs. 24.1+/-3.7%, p<0.05). In the same artery segment, 17beta-estradiol induced a significant decrease in the relative ratio between the repeated contractile response to potassium 30 and 120 mM (100+/-7% vs. 132+/-11%, p<0.05). For distal coronary arteries, there was a tendency to similar changes, but no statistical differences for the potassium or VIP responses in cerebral or distal coronary arteries were found between the two groups. 17beta-estradiol induced no changes in the PACAP-mediated vasodilation.These results suggest that long-term treatment with 17beta-estradiol improves the VIP-mediated but not the PACAP-mediated vasodilation in atherosclerotic proximal coronary arteries.  相似文献

Functional role of calcium-activated potassium (KCa) channels on the basal and agonist-elevated arterial tones was investigated in isolated rabbit aorta, porcine and canine coronary arteries as well as in human internal mammary artery. The vascular tones enhanced by contractile agents were increased further by preincubation of these conduit blood vessels with selective (charybdotoxin or iberiotoxin) or nonselective (tetraethylammonium) inhibitors of KCa channels. The basal tone (without an agonist) was increased only in the canine coronary artery. The results indicate a feed-back regulatory role of KCa channels counteracting the vasospasm of conduit arteries.  相似文献

Hypertension is associated with an increase in coronary artery disease, but little is known about the regulation of coronary vascular tone by endothelin-1 (ET-1) in hypertension. The present study evaluated the mechanisms mediating altered contraction to ET-1 in coronary small arteries from deoxycorticosterone acetate (DOCA)-salt hypertensive rats. DOCA-salt rats exhibited an increase in systolic blood pressure and plasma ET-1 levels compared with placebo rats. Contraction to ET-1 (1 x 10(-11) to 3 x 10(-8) M), measured in isolated coronary small arteries maintained at a constant intraluminal pressure of 40 mmHg, was largely reduced in vessels from DOCA-salt rats compared with placebo rats. To determine the role of endothelin receptor binding in the impaired contraction to ET-1, (125)I-labeled ET-1 receptor binding was measured in membranes isolated from coronary small arteries. Maximum binding (fmol/mg protein) and binding affinity were similar in coronary membranes from DOCA-salt rats compared with placebo rats. Changes in intracellular Ca(2+) concentration ([Ca(2+)](i)) were measured in freshly dissociated coronary small artery smooth muscle cells loaded with fura 2. ET-1 (10(-9) M) produced a 30 +/- 9% increase in [Ca(2+)](i) in smooth muscle cells from placebo rats, but had no effect on cells from DOCA-salt rats (2 +/- 2%). In summary, the ET-1-induced coronary artery contraction and increase in [Ca(2+)](i) are impaired in DOCA-salt hypertensive rats, whereas endothelin receptor binding is not altered. These results suggest endothelin receptor uncoupling from signaling mechanisms and indicate that impaired [Ca(2+)](i) signaling contributes to the decrease in ET-1-induced contraction of coronary small arteries in DOCA-salt hypertensive rats.  相似文献

A model is described which permits direct visualization of large coronary arteries in a supported modified perfused heart preparation, using a perfluorochemical (FC-43) as perfusate. Filling of a large coronary artery with Patent Blue Dye is recorded by gated photography (color arteriography). The technique is applicable to the study of reactivity (spasm) of coronary arteries in hearts of small and large animals (rats, rabbits, dogs). The technique has the following advantages: preservation of vascular endothelium, adequate oxygenation, avoidance of major surgical intervention to implant sensors for the detection of changes in coronary diameter, quantitative evaluation of time dependent changes in geometry of large coronary arteries and simultaneous measurement of large coronary vessel and total coronary vascular resistance.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to test the hypothesis that endothelial cells from resistance arteries and epicardial conduit coronary arteries differ in their expression of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) and calcium metabolism, and that these differences contribute to the mechanism underlying disparate physiological vasodilator responses observed between the two populations of vessels. The functional vasodilator responses of isolated resistance arteries and epicardial conduit coronary arteries were compared in vitro using both the receptor-independent agonist A23187 ionophore to increase intracellular calcium and the receptor-dependent agonist bradykinin. Constitutive NOS (cNOS) activity in monocultures of endothelial cells derived from resistance arteries and conduit arteries was assayed using a fibroblast-reporter cell method. Intracellular calcium concentration was assessed using fura-2 microfluorometry. Nitric oxide production was determined using a chemiluminescence technique, while cNOS protein was quantitated by Western blot analysis. A23187 was a less potent vasodilator of resistance arteries studied in vitro, compared to epicardial conduit arteries (EC50 = 1.6 μM, resistance artery vs. EC50 = 0.03 μM, conduit artery); however, bradykinin was more potent in resistance arteries (EC50 = 0.3 nM, resistance artery vs. EC50 = 2 nM, conduit artery). In pure monocultures of endothelium, nitric oxide production measured by chemiluminescence both basally and in response to A23187 was significantly less in resistance arteries (6.1 ± 0.5, basal vs. 10.80 ± 0.55, stimulated nmol/μg protein), compared to conduit arteries (7.7 ± 0.5, basal vs. 17.00 ± 1.52, stimulated nmol/μg protein; P < 0.05 resistance artery endothelium vs. conduit artery endothelium). cNOS enzyme activity assessed by cGMP production in reporter cell fibroblasts was also lower in resistance arteries compared to conduit arteries (0.17 ± 0.03 vs. 0.33 ± 0.05 fmol cGMP/μg protein, respectively; P < 0.05 resistance artery endothelium vs. conduit artery endothelium). Conduit arteries expressed 2.1 × more cNOS protein than resistance arteries, as assessed by Western blotting of cellular homogenates. No significant differences were found with microfluorimetry in either basal or ionophore-stimulated intracellular calcium concentrations. The results signified that porcine resistance arteries expressed less NOS and produced less nitric oxide than epicardial conduit arteries both basally and in response to an increase in intracellular calcium. This difference was reflected functionally as a decreased vasodilatory response to increased intracellular calcium in resistance arteries that could not be explained on the basis of differences in the metabolism of intracellular calcium. In contrast, the functional vasodilator response of intact vessels to a receptor-mediated agonist was enhanced in resistance arteries compared to conduit arteries, suggesting an important role of signal transduction mechanisms in specific physiological responses. Thus, the ability of the endothelium to regulate on a regional basis the expression of NOS and integrate receptor-mediated responses with these differences may provide a mechanism for diverse vasomotor responses in different populations of vessels. © 1996 Wiley-Liss, Inc.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE--To characterise clinical, investigative, and prognostic features of women referred with chest pain who subsequently underwent coronary angiography. DESIGN--Analysis of all women with angina referred to one consultant during 1987-91 who subsequently underwent coronary angiography, with follow up to present day. SETTING--Cardiothoracic centre. SUBJECTS--Women with normal coronary arteries; women with coronary artery disease shown on angiography; men with coronary artery disease matched for age; men referred with chest pain during the same period subsequently found to have normal coronary arteries. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES--Risk factor analysis; results of exercise testing and coronary angiography; intervention; morbidity and mortality. RESULTS--Women comprised 23% (202/886) of patients referred with chest pain who subsequently underwent angiography. 83/202 women had normal coronary angiograms compared with 55/684 men (41% v 8%, P < 0.01). Diabetes mellitus was the only risk factor more frequently encountered in women with coronary artery disease (P = 0.001). The specificity and positive predictive value of exercise testing before angiography were significantly lower in women than men (71% v 93%, P < 0.001 and 76% v 95%, P < 0.001, respectively). Revascularisation procedures were as common in women with coronary artery disease as in men (81 (68%) v 70 (59%)), and there was no difference in event rate during follow up. Many patients with normal coronary arteries, irrespective of sex, had symptoms during follow up (61 (73%) women, 36 (65%) men) and continued to take antianginal drugs (27 (33%) women, 14 (28%) men); 14 (17%) women and six (11%) men required hospital readmission for severe symptoms. CONCLUSIONS--In this series, although women comprised the minority of patients referred with chest pain, a diagnosis of normal coronary arteries was five times more common in women than men. Risk factor analysis and exercise testing were of limited value in predicting coronary artery disease in women. There was no sex bias regarding revascularisation procedures, and outcome was similar. A diagnosis of non-cardiac chest pain in patients with normal coronary arteries was of little benefit to the patient with regard to morbidity.  相似文献

Growth-related oncogene-alpha (GRO-alpha) is a member of the CXC chemokine family, which is involved in the inflammatory process including atherosclerosis. We hypothesized that GRO-alpha may affect endothelial functions in both porcine coronary arteries and human coronary artery endothelial cells (HCAECs). Vasomotor function was analyzed in response to thromboxane A2 analog U-46619 for contraction, bradykinin for endothelium-dependent vasorelaxation, and sodium nitroprusside (SNP) for endothelium-independent vasorelaxation. In response to 10(-6) M bradykinin, GRO-alpha (50 and 100 ng/ml) significantly reduced endothelium-dependent vasorelaxation by 34.73 and 48.8%, respectively, compared with controls (P < 0.05). There were no changes in response to U-46619 or SNP between treated and control groups. With the lucigenin-enhanced chemiluminescence assay, superoxide anion production in GRO-alpha-treated vessels (50 and 100 ng/ml) was significantly increased by 50 and 86%, respectively, compared with controls (P < 0.05). With real-time PCR analysis, endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) mRNA levels in porcine coronary arteries and HCAECs after GRO-alpha treatment were significantly decreased compared with controls (P < 0.05). The eNOS protein levels by both immunohistochemistry and Western blot analyses were also decreased in GRO-alpha-treated vessels. Antioxidant seleno-l-methionine and anti-GRO-alpha antibody effectively blocked these effects of GRO-alpha on both porcine coronary arteries and HCAECs. In addition, GRO-alpha immunoreactivity was substantially increased in the atherosclerotic regions compared with nonatherosclerotic regions in human coronary arteries. Thus GRO-alpha impairs endothelium-dependent vasorelaxation in porcine coronary arteries through a mechanism of overproduction of superoxide anion and downregulation of eNOS. GRO-alpha may contribute to human coronary artery disease.  相似文献

Previous investigations of age-associated changes in flow-mediated vasodilation (FMD) in women have been limited to the upper extremity and have not accounted for possible age differences in the stimulus for dilation. The purpose of the present study was to compare age differences in brachial and popliteal FMD and its stimulus (changes in shear rate following occlusion). Ultrasound-derived diameters and Doppler flow velocities of the brachial and popliteal arteries were measured in 14 young (20- to 30-yr-old) and 14 older (60- to 79-yr-old) healthy women at rest and during and after 5 min of distal cuff occlusion. Resting diameters were similar (both P > 0.39) in both age groups. Peak shear rate did not differ with age in either artery: approximately 1,300-1,400 and approximately 400-500 s(-1) in brachial and popliteal arteries, respectively. FMD (percent change above diameter measured during occlusion) was approximately 50-60% lower (P < 0.05) in the brachial (15.8 + 0.8% vs. 8.1 + 1.5%) and popliteal (4.6 +/- 0.7% vs. 1.8 +/- 0.4%) arteries of the older women. The normalized response of the brachial and popliteal arteries (%FMD per unit change in shear rate) was also reduced with age (55% and 53%, respectively) but did not exhibit limb specificity. Additionally, endothelium-independent dilation, as assessed by administration of nitroglycerin, was similarly blunted (by 45-65%) in brachial and popliteal arteries of older women. These results suggest that 1) brachial and popliteal artery FMD (after 5 min of distal occlusion) are similarly reduced with age, 2) when normalized to the change in shear stimulus, both arteries are equally responsive to 5 min of distal cuff occlusion in women, and 3) the age-associated decline in FMD may be attributable in part to diminished smooth muscle responsiveness.  相似文献

Coronary arteries distal to chronic occlusion exhibit enhanced vasoconstriction and impaired relaxation compared with nonoccluded arteries. In this study, we tested the hypotheses that an increase in peak Ca(2+) channel current density and/or increased Ca(2+) sensitivity contributes to altered contractility in collateral-dependent coronary arteries. Ameroid occluders were surgically placed around the proximal left circumflex coronary artery (LCX) of female miniature swine. Segments of epicardial arteries ( approximately 1 mm luminal diameter) were isolated from the LCX and nonoccluded left anterior descending (LAD) arteries 24 wk after Ameroid placement. Contractile responses to depolarization (10-100 mM KCl) were significantly enhanced in LCX compared with size-matched LAD arterial rings [concentration of KCl causing 50% of the maximal contractile response (EC(50)); LAD = 41.7 +/- 2.3, LCX = 34.3 +/- 2.7 mM]. However, peak Ca(2+) channel current was not altered in isolated smooth muscle cells from LCX compared with LAD (-5.29 +/- 0.42 vs. -5.68 +/- 0.55 pA/pF, respectively). Furthermore, whereas half-maximal activation of Ca(2+) channel current occurred at nearly the same membrane potential in LAD and LCX, half-maximal inactivation was shifted to a more positive membrane potential in LCX cells. Simultaneous measures of contractile tension and intracellular free Ca(2+) (fura 2) levels in arterial rings revealed that significantly more tension was produced per unit change in fura 2 ratio in LCX compared with LAD in response to KCl but not during receptor-agonist stimulation with endothelin-1. Taken together, our data indicate that coronary arteries distal to chronic occlusion display increased Ca(2+) sensitivity in response to high KCl-induced depolarization, independent of changes in whole cell peak Ca(2+) channel current. Unaltered Ca(2+) sensitivity in endothelin-stimulated arteries suggests more than one mechanism regulating Ca(2+) sensitization in coronary smooth muscle.  相似文献

In a 20-month-old child with classic transposition of the great arteries the pulmonary artery, coronary arteries, and aorta were successfully retransposed at arterial level. It was difficult to reimplant the coronary arteries in the dilated pulmonary artery root without damaging the attachments of the valve cusps, and it may be better to divide the pulmonary artery first to avoid this hazard. Retransposition at arterial level will not be suitable for all patients with transposition of the great arteries, and many questions about long-term outcome remain to be answered.  相似文献

Dynamic capacitance of epicardial coronary arteries in vivo   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
The dynamic capacitance of epicardial coronary arteries (i.d. greater than or equal to 0.4 mm) in vivo was assessed from the volume stiffness and volume of these arteries. The volume stiffness was derived from the pressure wave front velocity as determined in dogs by measuring the delay time between the pressure pulses recorded proximal and distal to a segment of the anterior descending branch of the left coronary artery. The pressure pulse was generated elsewhere in the arterial system during diastole. The volume of the epicardial coronary arteries was calculated from the lengths and diameters as measured in araldite casts, making corrections for in-vitro/in-vivo differences in dimensions. The dynamic capacitance of the right coronary artery, and the anterior descending and circumflex branches of the left coronary artery at an arterial pressure of 13.3 kPa and a frequency between 7 and 30 Hz was found to be 0.0024 +/- 0.0013, 0.0062 +/- 0.0028 and 0.0079 +/- 0.0035 mL/kPa (mean +/- SD), respectively. The total capacitance of the epicardial coronary arteries was calculated to be (0.007 mL/kPa)/100 g, which is small as compared to the total capacitance of the coronary vasculature, including the intramyocardial compartment, which is in the order of (0.5 mL/kPa)/100 g [1].  相似文献

To clarify the manner of accumulation of Ca and P in the coronary arteries, the authors divided the coronary arteries into many segments based on arterial ramification and investigated the element contents of the segments by direct chemical analysis. After ordinary dissection at Chiang Mai University was finished, the left coronary (LC) and the right coronary (RC) arteries were removed successively from the hearts of Thai subjects. The Thai subjects consisted of seven men and five women, ranging in age from 42 to 87 years (average age = 73.9 ± 13.5 years). The LC and the RC arteries were divided into 19 segments based on arterial ramification. After incineration with nitric acid and perchloric acid, element contents of the segments were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma–atomic emission spectrometry. In two cases, a significant content of Ca and P was contained only in the left anterior descending (LAD) artery (type I). In four cases, a significant content of Ca and P was contained in both the LAD and the RC arteries (type II). In five cases, a significant content of Ca and P was contained in all the LAD, the RC, and the circumflex (CF) arteries (type III). In the other one case, no significant content of Ca and P was contained in the coronary arteries. The manner of accumulation of Ca and P in the coronary arteries was classified into the three types, I, II, and III. Regarding the average content of elements in 12 cases, the average content of Ca was the highest in the segment of the LAD artery ramifying the first left diagonal artery and was higher in the proximal and distal adjacent segments of the LAD artery ramifying the first left diagonal artery, the proximal segment of the RC artery, and the proximal segment of the CF artery. To examine an effect of arterial ramification on accumulation of Ca and P, the differences in the Ca and P content between artery-ramifying and non-ramified proximal or distal segments of the coronary arteries were analyzed with Student’s t test. It was found that there were no significant differences in the Ca and P content between the artery-ramifying and non-ramified proximal or distal segments of the coronary arteries.  相似文献

Substance P (SP), a vasoactive neuropeptide detected in animal and human hearts has been reported to increase coronary blood flow in animals. However, no data are available on SP effects on epicardial coronary arteries, the site of coronary disease. To determine the amount and distribution of SP and its action in the large coronary vessels, we studied two groups of dogs. One group was anesthetized for collecting three 1 cm segments of the circumflex coronary artery (CX) and left anterior descending artery (LAD) through a left thoracotomy. These segments represented proximal (I), middle (II), and distal (III) portions of the two arteries. Concentrations (ng/g) of SP-like immunoreactivity (SP-LI) were determined by radioimmunoassay. SP-LI was present in LAD (I: 1.17 +/- 0.20, II: 1.08 +/- 0.36, III: 1.14 +/- 0.25) and CX (I: 1.44 +/- 0.38, II: 1.51 +/- 0.47, III: 0.70 +/- 0.20). SP differences among segments of LAD and segments I and II of CX were not significant, but there was a significant difference between segment III of CX and the others. In the second group of closed chest anesthetized dogs, we examined the effects of intracoronary SP infusion before and during administration of serotonin (5HT). LAD and CX artery responses (% area change) to SP and to SP plus 5HT were examined using quantitative coronary angiography. Intracoronary 133Xe in saline provided coronary flow data. SP infusion produced significant vasodilation in segment II (15% area increase) and III (17%) during the highest dose (1 microgram/min). The three SP doses infused with 5HT (0.05 mg/min) did not produce vasodilation, although LAD segment III constriction from 5HT was abolished during the highest dose of SP infusion. The presence of SP, and its dilatory effect on the coronary arteries, suggests a role in maintaining vasodilator tone in the coronary arteries.  相似文献

132 hearts obtained from cadavers were dissected in order to study anomalies in the course and branches of human coronary arteries. Only in 1 heart was a deviation of the circumflex branch of the left coronary artery taking a course inferior to the coronary sulcus observed. The right coronary artery travelled the entire length of the coronary sulcus on the back of the heart and gave both a posterior ventricular and a collateral branch. Circumflex branches of the right and left coronary arteries did not anastomose.  相似文献
