Lipids were isolated from roots, stems, cotyledons, leaves, buds, flowers, pods and seeds of okra (Hibiscus esculentus) at different stages of plant growth from germination to seed formation and their fatty acid compositions analysed. The lipid contents of roots and stems were 1–3%, cotyledons 3.7–9%, leaves 2.5–5.1% and seeds 2.2–20.2%. Palmitic, linoleic and linolenic were the main fatty acids present in all tissues at all stages, but their relative proportions varied. Cyclopropene fatty acids (CFA) were present at some stages in roots and seeds. In the roots their formation coincided with bud formation (35 days after sowing) and their content reached a maximum (12.8%) seven days after flowering. CFA were present in maturing seeds from 31 days after flowering and occurred as dihydro derivatives throughout. Dihydro derivatives of the CFA were absent in all other tissues. Heptadecenoic acid was present (0.4–1.3%) in root lipids at all stages and in the stem lipids (0.4–1.2%) in the initial stages and after flowering. 相似文献

Chemical investigation of the vines and leaves of Momordica charantia resulted in isolation of fourteen cucurbitane triterpenoids, kuguacins F-S (1-14), including two pentanorcucurbitacins (6 and 7), one octanorcucurbitacin (8), and two trinorcucurbitacins (11 and 12), along with six known analogues. In a winter variety of rapeseed, low temperatures enhance fatty acid desaturation as evidenced by 14C-acetate incorporation into fatty acids or 14C-oleate desaturation in vivo; similarly, low temperatures favour polyunsaturated fatty acid accumulation during the maturation of the seeds. The fatty acid composition of various mutant strains of the moss Physcomitrella patens has been compared to the wild-type. These included strains defective in their responses to auxins and/or cytokinins, one which releases much more cytokinin into the medium than the wild-type, and two aphototropic strains. The lipids of the aphototropic mutants were also studied after culture in different light regimes. Although some differences in fatty acid composition have been found between strains, these alone are probably not responsible for their physiological differences. Considerable changes occur in many fatty acids in senescent or dark-grown material, including changes in the proportion of C20 polyenoic fatty acids. 相似文献

A comparative study was made of the fatty acid composition of the total lipids extracted from the cotyledons and the callus cultures derived from cotyledon segments of six species of Cucurbitaceae. Conditions for callus induction and growth of cultures were identical. The difference between the two systems was in the reversal of the ratio of total unsaturated to saturated acids in all callus cultures. In callus cultures, instead of linoleic, linolenic was the major unsaturated fatty acid. In Momordica charantia, α-elaeostearic acid present in the cotyledon was not detected in callus and oleic acid was the major unsaturated fatty acid. 相似文献

The total fatty constituents of slash pine (Pinus elliottii) tissue cultures, seeds and seedlings were examined by GLC and MS. Qualitatively, the fatty acid composition of these tissues was very similar to that reported for other pine species. The fatty acid contents of the tissue cultures resembled that of the seedling tissues. In addition to the fatty acids common to botanical materials, Δ5-C18 and -C20 nonmethy lene-interrupted polyunsaturated acids were present in low relative abundances. Cultured microspores of Brassica napus L. cvs Topas and Reston initiated cell divisions within 3 to 4 days, and globular, heart and torpedo shaped embryos were prevalent after approximately 6, 8, and 10 days, respectively. Embryos with rudimentary cotyledons were evident within 2 weeks, but those that reached this stage of development represented only 1–5% of the original microspore population. The fresh weight of microspore-derived embryos at all stages of development was significantly greater than that for zygotic embryos, but the pattern of change in fresh weight and fatty acid accumulation was similar in developing zygotic and microspore embryos. In freshly isolated microspores of both Topas (low erucic acid) and Reston (high erucic acid), the predominant fatty acid was 18:3, while 18:1 comprised less than 15% of total fatty acids. During development in both zygotic and microspore embryos, the level of 18:3 declined markedly while 18:1 rapidly increased. Erucic acid (22:1) was not detected in the early stages of embryogenesis in Reston. However, small amounts of 22:1 appeared by early cotyledonary stage and the level gradually increased in both zygotic and microspore embryos through the later stages of development. The fatty acid compositions of mature embryos was nearly identical to that of dry seed, except the level of 22:1 in Reston embryos was consistently less than in the seed. Triacylglycerols comprised only 15% of total lipids in freshly isolated microspores, but increased to more than 90% by 4 weeks. The fatty acid composition of the triacylglycerol fraction was generally similar to that of total lipids at all stages of development of microspore-derived embryos. 相似文献

An investigation of live or freshly prepared feeds used as maturationdiets for freshwater ornamental fish was conducted to uncover similaritiesor differences in total and essential fatty acids. Analysis of these maturation feeds reveals that there are relatively low levels of totalfatty acids (0.81–8.96 mg/100 mg–1 dry weight) and withthe exception of the beef heart diet all other feeds have undetectablelevels of docosahexaenoate (22:6n3). The beef heart diet was observed topossess 4.86 mg 100 mg–1 dry weight of 22:6n3 most probablydue to the addition of skipjack tuna, Katsuwanus pelamis, roe. All otherfeeds examined were found to contain low to moderate levels ofeicosapentaenoate (20:5n3) 0.00–0.61 mg/100 mg–1 dryweight. Surprisingly relatively high amounts of arachidonate (20:4n6)0.16–0.90 mg/100 mg–1 dry weight were observed in all ofthe maturation diets and ranged between 3.79%–27.16% ona percent composition basis. Acetone-soluble extractives of “blue” and “green” strain Pinus muricata D. Don were found to consist of free and “combined” fatty acids, resin acids, and phenols. The composition of the extractives from the two strains was similar though “green” strain P. muricata contained more Δ8(9),15 isopimaric acid than “blue” strain. Fatty acid composition of the total lipids isolated from the fresh-water green alga Ulothrix aequalis shows that they resemble marine green algal lipids in having a high proportion of 16:4 ω-3 but differ in having only trace amounts of 18:4 ω-3. The distribution of ω-3 acids in the MGDG and DGDG fractions resembles that in green seaweeds and higher plants with the 16:4 ω-3 distribution in the Ulothrix fractions resemblmg that of 18:4 ω-3 in the corresponding fractions of the seaweeds. 相似文献

采用索氏提取法提取莱菔(Raphanussativus)种子中的脂肪酸成分,进行甲酯化处理后用气相色谱-质谱联用技术分离和鉴定脂肪酸成分的组成和含量。结果表明,从莱菔子中共分离鉴定出12种脂肪酸成分,占总量的99.32%,主要包括芥酸(32.47%)、油酸(29.07%)、亚油酸(9.45%)、亚麻酸(8.41%)、棕榈酸(4.31%)和硬脂酸(2.08%)等脂肪酸,其中饱和脂肪酸占9.25%,不饱和脂肪酸高达90.07%。 相似文献

以生菜(Lactuca sativa)种子为研究对象,通过不同时间的吸水处理分析其含水量变化,再通过程序降温处理,分析不同含水量种子发芽率的差异,以及脂肪酸合成有关基因(FAD2、FAD3、PPT、ELOVL)和冷调节基因ICE1的表达。结果表明,种子含水量随吸水时间增加而升高。程序降温至同样的低温冷冻条件下(-20℃、-22℃),吸水时间小于6 h的种子发芽率较高,而吸水8 h以上的种子发芽率显著降低。种子吸水8 h含水量处于饱和状态,在此状态下种子对低温较为敏感,说明含水量对种子耐冻性有影响。冷冻处理后生菜种子基因表达检测结果表明,脂肪酸去饱和酶基因(FAD2、FAD3)、蛋白质棕榈酰基硫脂酶相关基因(PPT)、长链脂肪酸延伸酶相关基因(ELOVL)的表达水平均随着种子含水量增加呈上升趋势,吸胀10 h的种子表达量最高,此时种子由于高含水量所受冷冻伤害最大。基因ICE1在冷冻处理种子中的表达也随着吸水时间增加而升高,在吸水10 h时种子中表达量到最高水平。综上,种子含水量越高,所受冷冻伤害越大。但种子在低温条件下具有一定的抗冷反应,可通过相关基因的过表达调控合成更多不饱和脂肪酸、抗冻蛋白等提高含水种子耐冻性。 相似文献

As in seed fats, the spore lipids are mainly triglycerides, with the exception of Osmunda where free fatty acids accumulate. The fruit-coat fats of Rhopalostylis sapida, R. baueri (Palmae), Elaeocarpus dentatus (Elaeocarpaceae) and Nestegis cunninghamii (Oleaceae) and the seed fats of E. dentatus and N. cunninghamii contain as their major fatty acids palmitic 11–35%, oleic 13–68%, and linoleic 16–31%.
