Conception rates after timed artificial insemination (TAI) are of paramount importance for the success of protocols based on synchronization of ovulation. Stage of lactation and milk production level are known factors that influence dairy cow fertility. It was the objective of this study to analyse the effect of stage of lactation and milk production level on conception rates and pregnancy rates by 200 days in milk (DIM) in dairy cows synchronized with the Ovsynch protocol (Day -10, Day -1: 0.1 mg of D-Phe6-gonadorelin, Day -3: 0.5 mg of cloprostenol, Day 0: AI). A total of 1,288 dairy cows were assigned to two groups and classified in three production levels (high, average, low). Cows of all milk production levels in Group 1 (Simultaneous Ovsynch, SO) were synchronized with the Ovsynch protocol simultaneously for TAI between 73 and 81 DIM. In Group 2 cows with average milk production were synchronized at the same time as Group 1, while low producing cows were synchronized 3 weeks earlier and high producing cows were synchronized 3 weeks later than Group 1, respectively. First service conception rates (FSCRs) were lower (P<0.05) in cows synchronized earlier than in cows of the same production level synchronized later (low production: 14.4% (22/153) versus 34.5% (51/148); high production: 28.2% (40/142) versus 41.4% (53/128)). Milk production level had no significant impact on conception rates after TAI in cows synchronized at the same stage of lactation. At 200 DIM fewer cows with high production level were pregnant than cows with average or low production (P<0.05). This effect was independent of the stage of lactation at the initiation of Ovsynch. Endometritis at a postpartum examination did not influence conception rates after TAI. In conclusion, stage of lactation, but not milk production level, has a major influence on conception rates after TAI. Early AI after Ovsynch is less efficient and therefore its return on investment should be evaluated carefully.  相似文献

In order to investigate the factors affecting the reproduction efficiency of Arab breeding mares in Tunisia, breeding data corresponding to 2340 mated cycles, over 5 years (from 2000 to 2004), from 555 mares offspring of 50 sires and bred with 17 stallions were analysed using a multivariate logistic regression. We chose logit link function and binomial distribution and we used log-likelihood-ratio (LL) and Wald tests (X2 Wald) to test the mean values. The factors of variation included in the model were the year, the stallion, the age of the mare at mating, the sire and the category of the mare. Logistic regression results showed that age and sire affected both the overall conception rate and the first-cycle conception rate of the mares whilst category and stallion influenced only the overall conception rate. To our knowledge, this is the first study showing that the sire of the mare can affect both the first-cycle conception rate and the overall conception rate of the mares.  相似文献

Summary Rates of disappearance of dead material of Polytrichum alpestre and Chorisodontium aciphyllum from a moss turf community and of Drepanocladus uncinatus, Calliergon sarmentosum and Cephaloziella varians from a moss carpet community, measured using litter bags over 2 years, were 1.5% year-1. Decomposition potential, estimated using loss in tensile strength of cotton strips inserted into the different bryophytes on the two sites, was also low. Ranking the five plant species in order of decomposition potential, from highest to lowest, gave D. uncinatus, C. aciphyllum, C. sarmentosum, P. alpestre and C. varians. The time taken for the tensile strength of the cotton strips at depths of 1–3 and 4–6 cm beneath the surface to decline by 50% varied from 1–2 years under the first two species to 3–4 years beneath the last two species. The main causes of these slow rates were low temperatures, short active season and low pH. Differences in decomposition between species, sites and with depth were related to temperature, nutrient status, water content and anaerobic conditions. Variation in anaerobic conditions beneath D. uncinatus, C. sarmentosum and C. varians in the moss carpet resulted in wide variation of decomposition rate beneath these species and with depth beneath C. varians. The peat in the moss turf was aerobic and experienced higher temperatures, but the average decomposition rate was no higher than in the moss carpet, because the peat was of a poorer quality and had a lower pH.  相似文献

Timed artificial insemination (TAI) is an efficient reproductive technology in batch farrowing production that aids management in pig farms. However, the effect of TAI on the reproduction performance is still controversial. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of two TAI protocols on the reproductive performance of primiparous sows. A total of 332 weaned sows were randomly allocated into three treatments. Sows assigned to Control (n = 110) were untreated and inseminated on each day in oestrus after weaning. Sows assigned to eG-TAI (n = 112) received equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG) 24 h after weaning and gonadotropin-releasing hormone (Gonadorelin: GnRH) at oestrus, and were inseminated at 8 and 32 h later if oestrus at 0800, or 16 and 40 h later if oestrus at 1600. Sows assigned to 2e-TAI (n = 110) received eCG and GnRH 24 h and 96 h after weaning, respectively, and were inseminated 16 and 40 h after GnRH administration. Sows showing oestrus at GnRH administration or 64 h after were inseminated immediately, for a total of three inseminations. Ultrasonographic evaluations were performed to determine the follicular diameter and time of ovulation. Most sows in the 2e-TAI and eG-TAI groups ovulated 0–48 h after the GnRH injection. Our results indicated that oestrus rate within seven days after weaning in the experimental groups was higher, and weaning-to-oestrus interval was shorter than in the control group (99.3 h vs 113.5 h, P < 0.05). The breeding and farrowing rates in the experimental groups were significantly higher than in the control group (P < 0.05), while the numbers of total born, live-born and stillborn were not different among the three groups (Control: 12.7, 11.6 and 1.1; 2e-TAI: 12.4, 11.3 and 1.0; eG-TAI: 12.0, 11.4 and 0.4, respectively). These results indicated that TAI could ensure a high farrowing rate in primiparous sows under batch farrowing management.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to investigate the types and incidence of luteal sub-function in lactating cows after artificial insemination (AI) and their relationship with pregnancy, and to clarify the relationship between luteal function and parity, body condition score (BCS), milk yield, and dietary intake. In 19 cows, milk samples were collected daily from AI to confirmation of pregnancy. Milk progesterone concentrations were determined by EIA. Based on peak progesterone concentration and the day of onset of luteal phase, 15 of 30 progesterone profiles (50%) were normal, with progesterone concentration reaching 1.0 ng/ml within 5 days after insemination and > or =2.0 ng/ml thereafter. In addition, 6 (20%) were insufficient, (progesterone concentration remained < 2.0 ng/ml), 5 (17%) were delayed (progesterone reached 1.0 ng/ml after 5 days), 2 (7%) were both delayed and insufficient, one (3%) was short (progesterone >1.0 ng/ml for only 7 days), and one (3%) remained basal. Cows with a normal profile had a higher (P < 0.05) pregnancy rate than those with an abnormal profile (87% versus 33%, respectively). The amount of progesterone secreted in milk after first AI, as indicated by progesterone area under curve (AUC), was negatively correlated with milk yield (r = -0.83, P < 0.01), dry matter intake (r = -0.81, P < 0.05), total digestible nutrients (r = -0.82, P< 0.05), and digestible crude protein (r = -0.79, P <0.05). Cows that produced more milk and consumed more dry matter had less progesterone during the luteal phase. In conclusion, abnormal luteal function was associated with reduced pregnancy rates and high milk production and increased dietary intake during breeding were associated with reduced progesterone concentrations.  相似文献

The influence of interval between insemination (AI) and estrus on subsequent fertility of PGF(2alpha)-treated (two injections of 25 mg, 11 days apart) heifers was assessed in two experiments. In Experiment I, 240 heifers were allotted to Control (AI 8 to 16 hr after estrus detection), PGF(2alpha)-E (AI 8 to 16 hr after estrus within five days of second PGF(2alpha)) or PGF(2alpha)-T (AI 80 hr after second PGF(2alpha)). In Experiment II, 130 heifers were assigned to control (AI as before) or PGF(2alpha) (AI 72 or 80 hr after second PGF(2alpha)) with half the PGF(2alpha) heifers receiving 100 mug GnRH 72 hr after first PGF(2alpha). Heifers of both experiments that were bred at a predetermined time were arrayed by interval from AI to estrus. Conception rates of heifers detected in estrus from 32 hr before AI to 24 hr after AI did not differ (x(2)=3.35, df=5, P>0.5). The percentage of GnRH-treated heifers in estrus within five days (81.8%) was not (P>0.75) greater than those not receiving GnRH (77.3%) but they had higher (P<0.05) serum progesterone (P(4)) concentration at second PGF(2alpha) (3.17 vs 2.41 ng/ml). When P(4) values were arrayed for both groups at 1 ng intervals, the percentage of heifers exhibiting estrus increased with increasing P(4) level (P<0.05).  相似文献

The aim in this study was to compare two estrus synchronization protocols in buffaloes. Animals were divided into two groups: Group A (n=111) received 100 microg GnRH on Day 0, 375 microg PGF(2alpha) on Day 7 and 100 microg GnRH on Day 9 (Ovsynch); Group B (n=117) received an intravaginal drug release device (PRID) containing 1.55 g progesterone and a capsule with 10mg estradiol benzoate for 10 days and were treated with a luteolytic dose of PGF(2alpha) and 1000 IU PMSG at the time of PRID withdrawal. Animals were inseminated twice 18 and 42 h after the second injection of GnRH (Group A) and 60 and 84 h after PGF(2alpha) and PMSG injections (Group B). Progesterone (P(4)) concentrations in milk samples collected 12 and 2 days before treatments were used to determine cyclic and non-cyclic buffaloes, and milk P(4) concentrations 10 days after Artificial insemination (AI) were used as an index of a functional corpus luteum. Cows were palpated per rectum at 40 and 90 days after AI to determine pregnancies. All previously non-cyclic animals in Group B had elevated P(4) (>120 pg/ml milk whey) on Day 10 after AI. Accordingly, a greater (P<0.01) relative percentage of animals with elevated P(4) 10 days after AI were observed in Group B (93.2%) than in Group A (81.1%). However, there was no difference in overall pregnancy rates between the two estrus synchronization protocols (Group A, 36.0%; Group B 28.2%). When only animals with elevated P(4) on Day 10 after AI were considered, pregnancy rate was higher (P<0.05) for animals in Group A (44.4%) than Group B (30.3%). The findings indicated that treatment with PRID can induce ovulation in non-cyclic buffalo cows. However, synchronization of estrus with Ovsynch resulted in a higher pregnancy rate compared with synchronization with PRID, particularly in cyclic buffalo.  相似文献

We evaluated the efficiency of replacing GnRH with LH in the ovulation synchronization protocol in buffaloes. Buffaloes received GnRH on Day 0, (Buserelin; Conceptal, 20 microg), PGF2alpha (Luprostiol; Prosolvin, 15 mg) on Day 7 and GnRH (Buserelin; Conceptal, 10 microg; Group 1) or porcine LH (LH; Lutropin-V, 12.5 mg; Group 2) on Day 9. In Experiment 1, we studied the follicular dynamics of 30 buffaloes (Group 1, n = 15 and Group 2, n = 15). We performed ultrasonography every 12 h from Days 0 to 2, then on Day 7 and then every 6 h from the time of GnRH or LH treatment (Day 9) until the time of ovulation. All females not ovulating by 48 h after the second GnRH or LH injection were considered as nonresponders. In Experiment 2, we evaluated 305 buffaloes (Group 1, n = 154; Group 2, n = 151), using the same two treatments studied in Experiment 1. We also recorded and evaluated aspects like parity, lactational status, the presence of mucus, and uterine tone at the time of artificial insemination (Al). In Experiment 1, ovulation rate after the first GnRH was 86.6% (26/30). Ovulation rates were 93.3% (14/15; Group 1) after the second dose of GnRH and 93.3% (14/15) after LH (Group 2). Ovulation occurred 36.4+/-10.4 h after the first GnRH. The interval for treatment to ovulation was 26.5+/-9.6 h for buffaloes treated with GnRH (Group 1) and 24.4+/-7.9 h for buffaloes treated with LH (Group 2); the time of ovulation did not differ statistically between the two groups (GnRH versus LH; P > 0.05). In Experiment 2, conception rates of the animals AI in the field were 56.5% (Group 1) and 64.2% (Group 2), respectively (P = 0.08). The response to the treatment with LH was not different to the treatment with GnRH; however, multiparous buffaloes had higher conception rates than the primiparous buffaloes in both groups (P > 0.05). Buffaloes with mucus at the time of AI in Group 2 had higher conception rates than the buffaloes that had mucus in Group 1 (P < 0.05). Uterine tone and lactational status did not influence conception rates (P > 0.05). In summary, the results showed that both treatments resulted in synchronization of ovulation and acceptable conception rates. Therefore, the exogenous injection of LH can substitute the GnRH injections in the Ovsynch program in buffaloes.  相似文献

The objective was to compare the reproductive performance of a new PGF-based timed artificial insemination (TAI) protocol in sheep (Synchrovine®: two doses of PGF, 7 d apart) to a traditional progesterone-eCG (P4-eCG) protocol, considering the effects of seminal state, AI-times, and AI-pathway. Three experiments involving 1297 multiparous Australian Merino ewes were done during the physiologic breeding season (location 32 °S-57 °W). Reproductive performance was assessed as non-return rate to service 21 d after AI (NRR21d), based on detection with androgenized wethers, as well as Fertility (pregnant/inseminated ewes), Prolificacy (fetuses/pregnant ewe), and Fecundity (fetuses/inseminated ewe), which were based on transabdominal ultrasonography 50 d after TAI. In Experiment 1, Synchrovine® treated ewes TAI cervically with fresh semen at 42, 48, or 54 h had similar NRR21d (0.51, 0.46, 0.57), Fertility (0.27, 0.31, 0.26), and Fecundity (0.29, 0.32, 0.27), all of which were lower (P < 0.05) than in a control P4-eCG group inseminated at 54 h (0.61, 0.48, 0.52, NRR21d, Fertility and Fecundity respectively). In Experiment 2, using chilled semen and cervical TAI, Synchrovine® treated ewes inseminated at 42 h yielded lower (P < 0.05) NRR21d, Fertility and Fecundity (0.28, 0.06, 0.06) compared to 48 (0.43, 0.24, 0.24) and 54 h (0.44, 0.22, 0.23). In Experiment 3 with chilled semen, Synchrovine® treated ewes TAI into the cervix at 51 or 57 h were similar in NRR21d (0.16 vs 0.20), Fertility (0.12 vs 0.14), and Fecundity (0.12 vs 0.15), respectively; but lower (P < 0.05) than P4-eCG treated ewes TAI at 54 h (0.34, 0.28, and 0.33 for NRR21d, Fertility and Fecundity respectively). Synchrovine® treated ewes intrauterine TAI at 51 or 57 h yielded similar NRR21d (0.51 vs 0.58), Fertility (0.43 vs 0.51), and Fecundity (0.45 vs 0.56) respectively, but lower (P < 0.05) results compared to P4-eCG treated ewes (0.75, 0.71, and 0.88 for NRR21d, Fertility and Fecundity respectively). In conclusion, AI-time in Synchrovine® treated ewes with fresh semen might be extended (42 to 54 h after the second PGF), but should be delayed to 48-54 h with chilled semen and cervical AI. Independent of the seminal state, AI-time or AI-pathway, Synchrovine® yielded lower reproductive results than a conventional P4-eCG protocol.  相似文献

巢捕食是影响鸟类繁殖成功率的一个重要因素,也是鸟类繁殖生态研究中的一项重要内容。确定鸟类的主要巢捕食者及影响巢捕食的因素对于了解鸟类繁殖成功率、种群增长率及种群数量等具有重要意义。2009—2012年,对辽宁仙人洞国家级自然保护区人工巢箱中繁殖的杂色山雀(Parus varius)、沼泽山雀(P.palustris)、大山雀(P.major)和白眉姬鹟(Ficedula zanthopygia)四种鸟类的巢捕食率及影响巢捕食的因素进行了研究。研究共记录到238个繁殖巢(杂色山雀74巢、沼泽山雀21巢、大山雀118巢、白眉姬鹟25巢),其中35巢被捕食,捕食率为14.7%,雏鸟期被捕食占91.4%。巢捕食率在4种鸟类之间无差异(x~2=0.429,df=3,P=0.934)。以锦蛇(Elaphe spp.)为代表的蛇类是该地区小型森林洞巣鸟类繁殖期主要捕食者,占总捕食率的94.3%。对影响巢捕食的22个相关因子进行二元逻辑斯蒂回归分析发现,坡度、地面裸露率、草本盖度对巢捕食具有显著性影响;出雏时间、坡位、距碎石块距离对巢捕食的影响接近显著水平;而巢高、树粗、巢箱年龄、窝卵数、距路距离等对巢捕食无显著影响。因此,处于坡度较陡,坡位较高,草本覆盖率较高,地面裸露率较低,距碎石块距离较近,且出雏时间较晚的巢更容易被捕食。  相似文献

The effects of four seasons of semen collection and of artificial insemination on conception in dairy cows were studied. The solstices and equinoxes (December, March, June and September) defined the beginning and/or end of each season. Semen was collected from 973 progeny-test bulls over 8 years at the two Norwegian AI stations at 60.8 degrees N and 63.4 degrees N where artificial light was used to provide a minimum photoperiod of 10 h/day. The effect of using semen of elite bulls during progeny testing and after selection as elite sires also was investigated. Norwegian Red (NRF) cows were inseminated over a 7-year period using progeny test semen and over the last 4 years of the same period using the semen of the elite sires. The probability of conception to only first inseminations for cows up to, and including, the fifth lactation was assessed by 56-day non-return rate (56d NRR) and calving rate. Two data sets were analysed which excluded cows culled within 270 days of AI or included such cows as non-calving. The reasons for culling were categorised as those for fertility problems or all other reasons. Semen was used for AI irrespective of the season in which it had been collected. Season of semen collection did not affect 56d NRR but calving rate was significantly higher (by 0.5-0.8%, approximately; P < 0.01) for semen collected in the December-March period, when photoperiod was increasing, than at other times of the year. The season in which AI was performed showed a peak of 56d NRR in spring for heifers (P < 0.01) and in summer for parous animals (P < 0.01). For calving rate, however, no seasonal peak was found in heifers, whereas pluriparous cows had much higher calving rates in summer and autumn/early winter than late winter and spring (P < 0.01). Semen of elite sires resulted in higher calving rates by 0.5 (NS) to 1.9% (P < 0.01) when used after selection than when used during progeny testing. The difference between the calving rate achieved when the semen from elite sires was used during progeny testing and after selection indicates that farmers select different classes of cows for submission to AI by progeny test bulls and sires. The 56d NRR was not as good as calving rate for assessing seasonal and other effects on conception rates.  相似文献

The rate of protein-protein association limits the response time due to protein-protein interactions. The bimolecular association rate may be diffusion-controlled or influenced, and in such cases, Brownian dynamics simulations of protein-protein diffusional association may be used to compute association rates. Here, we report Brownian dynamics simulations of the diffusional association of five different protein-protein pairs: barnase and barstar, acetylcholinesterase and fasciculin-2, cytochrome c peroxidase and cytochrome c, the HyHEL-5 antibody and hen egg lysozyme (HEL), and the HyHEL-10 antibody and HEL. The same protocol was used to compute the diffusional association rates for all the protein pairs in order to assess, by comparison to experimentally measured rates, whether the association of these proteins can be explained solely on the basis of diffusional encounter. The simulation protocol is similar to those previously derived for simulation of the association of barnase and barstar, and of acetylcholinesterase and fasciculin-2; these produced results in excellent agreement with experimental data for these protein pairs, with changes in association rate due to mutations reproduced within the limits of expected computational and modeling errors. Here, we find that for all protein pairs, the effects of mutations can be well reproduced by the simulations, even though the degree of the electrostatic translational and orientational steering varies widely between the cases. However, the absolute values of association rates for the acetylcholinesterase: fasciculin-2 and HyHEL-10 antibody: HEL pairs are overestimated. Comparison of bound and unbound protein structures shows that this may be due to gating resulting from protein flexibility in some of the proteins. This may lower the association rates compared to their bimolecular diffusional encounter rates.  相似文献

As part of the timed breeding colony at Tulane National Primate Research Center, exogenous progesterone administration (5 mg/day for 10 days) has been used to select conception dates by inducing artificial luteal phases in female rhesus monkeys. A retrospective analysis of data obtained during four breeding seasons (1998-2001) revealed that conceptions occurred an average of 18 days after the last administration of progesterone. The age of the female to be bred, previous pregnancy history, and timing of breeding during the breeding season were determined to be critical factors in the success of the procedure. The benefit of this method of timed breeding is that it does not require tracking of menstrual cycles, which can be labor-intensive and requires that animals be monitored several months in advance of breeding to determine each female's individual cycle length. Suggesting to technicians that batches of frozen semen would differ in fertility resulted in significant differences in non-return rates. Although no differences in semen quality existed, the non-return rate of semen suggested to be of better quality was 73.2% vs 70.6% for semen suggested to be of poorer quality. There was a highly significant negative correlation between the suggestibility of technicians and their overall non-return rate. These results support the need for blind inseminations in any trial comparing the fertility of different semen samples and make trials which compare differences in insemination technique less reliable.  相似文献

Growth rates in pre-weaned calves influence their health, age at first calving and lifetime productivity. Many farms restrict milk rations to encourage solid feed intake and facilitate early weaning, but this can compromise growth. This study determined the milk feeding policies and associated growth rates on 11 commercial dairy farms in South East England, each following their normal management regime. Between 26 and 54 heifers were recruited per farm, providing a final cohort of 492, of which 71% were pure Holstein. Information on calf rearing practices (feeding, weaning, housing) and health was collected via questionnaires and weekly observations. Estimates of actual milk fed (kg solids) between 1 and 63 days were calculated for individual calves. Morphometric data (weight, height, length) were taken at weeks 1, 5 and 9 and at a median age of 7.5 months and growth rates were calculated. Most calves were fed milk replacer via automated feeders (four farms), teat feeder (one) or buckets (four) whereas two farms provided drums of acidified waste milk. Farms fed between 4 and 6 l/day of milk at mixing rates of 10% to 15%, providing 400 to 900 g/day of milk solids. Both skeletal growth rates and average daily weight gain (ADG) increased in the second month of life compared with the first: height growth from 0.17±0.14 to 0.25±0.16 cm/day and ADG from 0.48±0.25 to 0.71±0.28 kg/day. Post-weaning heifers up to 7.5 months had height increases of 0.16±0.035 cm/day and ADG of 0.83±0.16 kg/day. From 1 to 63 days 70% of calves had growth rates <0.7 kg/day and of these 19.6% gained <0.5 kg/day. Mean ADG before 9 weeks varied between farms from 0.52±0.30 to 0.75±0.20 kg/day. This was related to the amount of milk fed at both a farm and individual calf level. Increasing the total milk solids fed between 1 and 63 days from 20.4 to 46.3 kg (the 10th to 90th percentile observed) was associated with an increase of 0.11 kg/day ADG. All farms had a wide variation in growth rates despite single feeding policies. Higher circulating immunoglobulin G and IGF1 concentrations were associated with better growth, whereas low temperatures in month of birth, high scores for diarrhoea, respiratory and umbilical disease and large birth size reduced growth. Many commercially grown dairy heifers therefore experienced growth restriction in the pre-weaned period, potentially reducing their health, welfare and productivity.  相似文献

The viability of 250 basidiomycete strains was determined after a 2-d and then after a 2-year storage under liquid nitrogen using two different freezing protocols. Using an original agar plug protocol (OP), 162 strains (65%) of the 250 strains survived a 2-d storage and 158 strains (63%) survived a 2-year storage in liquid nitrogen. Using a straw protocol (CP), 246 strains (98%) of the 250 strains survived a 2-d storage and 243 strains (97%) a 2-year storage in liquid nitrogen. In addition, other 106 strains were newly estimated using the CP protocol; 104 (98%) of them survived successfully a 2-d storage and 101 (95%) of them survived a 2-year storage in liquid nitrogen. The results indicate that the protocol used for cryopreservation can significantly influence strain survival. Markedly better results were obtained using the CP protocol.  相似文献

The objective was to determine the effect of sequence of insemination after simultaneous thawing of multiple 0.5 mL semen straws on conception rate in suckled multiparous Nelore cows. The effect of this thawing procedure on in vitro sperm characteristics was also evaluated. All cows (N = 944) received the same timed AI protocol. Ten straws (0.5 mL) of frozen semen from the same batch were simultaneously thawed at 36 °C, for a minimum of 30 sec. One straw per cow was used for timed AI. Frozen semen from three Angus bulls was used. Timed AI records included sequence of insemination (first to tenth) and time of semen removal from thawing bath. For laboratory analyses, the same semen batches used in the field experiment were evaluated. Ten frozen straws from the same batch were thawed simultaneously in a thawing unit identical to that used in the field experiment. The following sperm characteristics were analyzed: sperm motility parameters, sperm thermal resistance, plasma and acrosomal membrane integrity, lipid peroxidation, chromatin structure, and sperm morphometry. Based on logistic regression, there were no significant effects of breeding group, body condition score, AI technician, and sire on conception rate, but there was an interaction between sire and straw group (P = 0.002). Semen from only one bull had decreased (P < 0.05) field fertility for the group of straws associated with the longest interval from thawing to AI. However, the results of the laboratory experiment were unable to explain the findings of the field experiment. Sperm width:length ratio of morphometric analysis was the single sperm characteristic with a significant interaction between sire and straw group (P = 0.02). It was concluded that sequence of insemination after simultaneous thawing of 10 semen straws can differently affect conception rates at timed AI, depending on the sire used. Nevertheless, the effects of this thawing environment on in vitro sperm characteristics, remain to be further investigated.  相似文献

测定荒漠草原甘草、赖草、蒙古冰草以及黑沙蒿等植物群落枯落物分解过程中质量损失量分析荒漠草原枯落物分解速,同时通过枯落物自身化学成份、含水率的测定,结合气候因子进行偏相关分析,探讨荒漠草原枯落物分解的影响因素。结果表明:荒漠草原4种植物群落枯落物的质量累积损失率随分解时间的延长而增加,但枯落物分解的质量损失量与时间并不呈线性相关;4种群落枯落物质量损失量大小依次均为:甘草群落赖草群落蒙古冰草群落黑沙蒿群落;荒漠草原枯落物分解采用单指数衰减的Olson模型拟合效果较好,4种植物群落中甘草群落枯落物分解最快,黑沙蒿群落分解最慢;蒙古冰草、赖草和甘草群落枯落物中N、P、K的含量显著高于黑沙蒿群落,但是C、木质素、纤维素、C/N、木质素/N和纤维素/N值则显著低于黑沙蒿群落枯落物,蒙古冰草群落、甘草群落、赖草群落和黑沙蒿群落4种群落枯落物分解速率(k)与枯落物初始N、P、K含量均呈显著正相关;偏相关分析表明,4种植物群落枯落物分解速率与降雨量、枯落物自身含水量的偏相关系数达显著水平,其余因子偏相关系数均未达显著水平。结合上述研究可以确定荒漠草原枯落物分解50%所需时间为2—5a,分解95%需8—24a。  相似文献

The epidemiology of Trichostrongylidae infections in three dairy cow groups reared under different conditions and in different habitats was studied with particular emphasis on Ostertagia ostertagi. In cows bred intensively in swampy lowlands (Po River Valley) the prevalence of infection was 43% and the mean intensity 567. In cows bred traditionally (Friuli, Northern-Eastern Italy), the prevalence in permanently housed cows was 24% (mean intensity: 13). In grazing cows, it was 68% (mean intensity: 120). The distribution of parasite numbers (O. ostertagi) per host was studied with the negative binomial model. The observed data were also compared by the method of cumulative relative frequencies. The results suggest that parasitism is also important in cows reared intensively.  相似文献
