Three new nomenclatural combinations are validated in Dasymaschalon (Annonaceae), with the elevation of varietal names to the specific rank: D. longiusculum (Bân) Jing Wang & R. M. K. Saunders, D. megalanthum (Merr.) Jing Wang & R. M. K. Saunders, and D. minutiflorum (Nurmawati) Jing Wang & R. M. K. Saunders. New nomenclatural combinations are furthermore validated in Goniothalamus (Annonaceae), following the successful conservation of the generic name over Richella. Two species names in Richella are here transferred to Goniothalamus as G. monospermus (A. Gray) R. M. K. Saunders and G. obtusatus (Baill.) R. M. K. Saunders. 相似文献

Morphologic variation and classification of the North American Aristida purpurea complex (Gramineae)
Kelly W. Allred 《Brittonia》1984,36(4):382-395
The morphology of the Purpureae Group of North AmericanAristida is assessed by principal components and statistical analyses. Long considered a complex of about eight species, a mosaic of intergrading phenetic forms is revealed and the complex is reduced to one species with seven varieties. The taxa that are recognized areAristida purpurea var.purpurea, var.nealleyi (comb. nov.), var.curvifolia (comb. nov.), var.parishii (comb. nov.), var.wrightii (comb. nov.), var.fendleriana, and var.longiseta. A key and synopses for the varieties are provided. 相似文献

We investigated the histology and developmental morphology of flowers of wild-rice (Zizania aquatica), a member of grass subfamily Oryzoideae, to determine whether male flowers in this species develop in a manner similar to those in the subfamily Panicoideae, a group that includes many species with unisexual flowers. Zizania has evolved unisexual flowers from hermaphrodite ancestors and is only distantly related to the Panicoideae; the origins of unisexual flowers are independent in the two taxa. Ontogenetic evidence indicates that many species within the subfamily Panicoideae develop male flowers by a process similar to that already described for maize (Zea mays), a panicoid grass. Unisexual male flowers in maize initiate both the stamen (androecium) and the pistil (gynoecium), but the gynoecium aborts early in development through the death of the subepidermal cells. Cell death in gynoecia of maize is known to be controlled by the product of the gene tasselseed2 (ts2), and an orthologue of ts2 has been shown to have the same effect in the sister genus Tripsacum. It seems likely that ts2 orthologues mediate cell death throughout the Panicoideae, but the phylogenetic range of the cell death mechanism is not known. In this study we show that male flowers of Z. aquatica show neither the distinctive pattern of cell death nor the ontogenetic timing of abortion that are characteristic of male flower formation in studied species of Panicoideae. This indicates that these unisexual flowers may be produced by an entirely different mechanism from that employed by the Panicoideae. Either ts2 does not control sex expression in Zizania, or it is deployed at a different time, and possibly in different tissues, with a different histological result. Our results indicate that the independent origins of male flowers in Gramineae apparently do not have a common system of genetic control. 相似文献

JARVIE, J. K. & BARKWORTH, M. E., 1992. Anatomical variation in some perennial Triticeae. Cross-sectional anatomy of glumes and leaf blades was examined in 22 taxa of the perennial Triticeae. The taxa included diploids and polyploids based largely on various combinations of the E, J and S genomes. The objective was to determine how much correlation exists between anatomical characteristics and genomic constitution. The data were analysed by principal co-ordinate and cluster analyses. The results showed that monogenomic species based on different genomes were readily distinguishable on glume and leaf blade features. Most heterogenomic taxa exhibited some aspects of each genome present except in the case of JE allotetraploids, which exhibited no E genome characteristics. 相似文献

Phylogenetic analysis of North American Elymus and the monogenomic Triticeae (Poaceae) using three chloroplast DNA data sets. 总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6
Although the monogenomic genera of the Triticeae have been analyzed in numerous biosystematic studies, the allopolyploid genera have not been as extensively studied within a phylogenetic framework. We focus on North American species of Elymus, which, under the current genomic system of classification, are almost all allotetraploid, combining the St genome of Pseudoroegneria with the H genome of Hordeum. We analyze new and previously published chloroplast DNA data from Elymus and from most of the monogenomic genera of the Triticeae in an attempt to identify the maternal genome donor of Elymus. We also present a cpDNA phylogeny for the monogenomic genera that includes more data than, and thus builds on, those previously published. The chloroplast DNA data indicate that Pseudoroegneria is the maternal genome donor to all but one of the Elymus individuals. There is little divergence among the Elymus and Pseudoroegneria chloroplast genomes, and as a group, they show little divergence from the rest of the Triticeae. Within the monogenomic Triticeae, the problematic group Thinopyrum is resolved as monophyletic on the chloroplast DNA tree. At the intergeneric level, the data reveal several deeper-level relationships that were not resolved by previous cpDNA trees. 相似文献

Molecular genetic maps were constructed for two full-sib populations, TTC1 and TTC2, derived from two Leymus triticoides x Leymus cinereus hybrids and one common Leymus triticoides tester. Informative DNA markers were detected using 21 EcoRI-MseI and 17 PstI-MseI AFLP primer combinations, 36 anchored SSR or STS primer pairs, and 9 anchored RFLP probes. The 164-sib TTC1 map includes 1069 AFLP markers and 38 anchor loci in 14 linkage groups spanning 2001 cM. The 170-sib TTC2 map contains 1002 AFLP markers and 36 anchor loci in 14 linkage groups spanning 2066 cM. Some 488 homologous AFLP loci and 24 anchor markers detected in both populations showed similar map order. Thus, 1583 AFLP markers and 50 anchor loci were mapped into 14 linkage groups, which evidently correspond to the 14 chromosomes of allotetraploid Leymus (2n = 4x = 28). Synteny of two or more anchor markers from each of the seven homoeologous wheat and barley chromosomes was detected for 12 of the 14 Leymus linkage groups. Moreover, two distinct sets of genome-specific STS markers were identified in these allotetraploid Leymus species. These Leymus genetic maps and populations will provide a useful system to evaluate the inheritance of functionally important traits of two divergent perennial grass species. 相似文献

JARVIE, J. K. & BARKWORTH, M. E., 1992. Morphological variation and genome constitution in some perennial Triticeae. A numerical analysis of species of five genomically defined genera of the Triticeae was undertaken, based on 42 morphological characters and 142 operational taxonomic units (OTUs). The primary goal was to determine the degree of congruence between morphological variation and genomic constitution. The second goal was to determine which existing supraspecific classification, if any, best reflected the morphological variation encountered. The five genera investigated were Thinopyrum (J genome), Lophopyrum (E genome), Pseudoroegneria (S genome), Trichopyrum (EES genome) and Elytrigia (SJE/SSX genome). Both principal co-ordinate and cluster analysis of the data placed the OTUs in supraspecific groups that reflected their genomic constitution. Monogenomic taxa were clearly separated. Allotetraploids between the E and S genomes were situated between E and S monogenomic taxa. Allotetraploids between the J and E genomes were situated closest to J genome taxa. The EES taxa of Trichopyrum were placed closest to Lophopyrum. OTUs of Elytrigia overlapped those of Pseudoroegneria , but not those of Lophopyrum or Thinopyrum. 相似文献

Leymus is a genomically defined allopolyploid of genus Triticeae with two distinct subgenomes. Chloroplast DNA sequences of Eurasian and North American species are distinct and polyphyletic. However, phylogenies derived from chloroplast and nuclear DNA sequences are confounded by polyploidy and lack of polymorphism among many taxa. The AFLP technique can resolve phylogenetic relationships between closely related species, with a curvilinear relationship expected between the proportion of shared bands and nucleotide substitution rate (D), up to about 0.100 D. The objective of this study was to compare D and phylogenetic relationships among 16 Leymus taxa, based on chloroplast DNA sequences and multi-locus AFLP genotypes. Estimates of chloroplast D between taxa were 0.002 and 0.013 within and among continental regions, respectively. Estimates of AFLP D between taxa were 0.076 and 0.093 compared within and between continental regions, respectively, versus 0.024 within taxa. Bayesian and neighbor-joining cluster analyses effectively separated all AFLP genotypes by species, but showed that North American L. ambiguus is a hybrid species with nearly equal contributions from sympatric L. cinereus and L. salinus taxa. Two hierarchical AFLP clades, containing six North American taxa and four Eurasian taxa, had more than 98% bootstrap confidence with 0.071 and 0.055 D among taxa. Three other Eurasian taxa clustered with 79% and 89% confidence, with up to 0.79 D between taxa. These estimates provide benchmarks for phylogenetic comparisons of AFLP profiles, but three taxa could not be reliably grouped, which may reflect concurrent radiation of multiple lineages or lack of homologous AFLP characters caused by a high D. 相似文献

Examination of type specimens of the monotypic genera,Grahamia (G. bracteata) andTalinaria (T. palmeri) together with detailed palynological, morphological and seed anatomical evidence have shown that these two species are very similar. These two genera are subsequently grouped into one genus,Grahamia. A new combination,G. palmeri is now proposed. 相似文献
