合浦珠母贝鳃的显微与超微结构   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
合浦珠母贝(Pinctada fucata)是典型的滤食性瓣鳃类动物,也是我国重要的海水珍珠养殖贝类。本研究用光学显微镜、扫描电镜和透射电镜观察了合浦珠母贝鳃的显微和超微结构。结果表明,合浦珠母贝鳃结构属于异丝鳃型,左右两侧各2个鳃瓣,每个鳃瓣由内鳃瓣和外鳃瓣组成。鳃瓣由主鳃丝和普通鳃丝构成,主鳃丝在鳃瓣中主要起支架作用,每2根主鳃丝之间的9~12根普通鳃丝由"簇内连接"(intrabunchial junction)相连成簇。普通鳃丝之间通过"丝间连接"(interfilament junction)相连,丝间连接的上皮细胞与普通鳃丝的扁平细胞结构一样,为鳃的呼吸上皮。丝间连接的存在扩大了鳃的表面积,这种结构有助于进行气体交换。主鳃丝和普通鳃丝表面有前纤毛和侧纤毛,与食物运送和气体交换有关。普通鳃丝表面的纤毛为典型的"9+2"型微管结构。  相似文献

1. An electrophysiological analysis was made of gill ganglion neurons in Aplysia californica. 2. Gill ganglion neurons behave similarly to neurons in the abdominal ganglion (the central nervous systems; CNS) that are involved with gill withdrawal behaviors. 3. Some gill ganglion neurons are motor neurons much like those in the CNS. 4. Neurons in the gill ganglion are electronically and dye-coupled. In addition, they receive common chemical synaptic inputs from the Int-II network in the CNS. 5. Tactile stimulation of the gill or siphon evokes synaptic activity in gill ganglion neurons whether or not the CNS is present. 6. Pedal nerve stimulation results in synaptic activity in gill ganglion neurons and facilitates synaptic input evoked by tactile stimulation of the gill or siphon. 7. Antibody staining reveals serotonin-like fibers in the branchial nerve close to the gill ganglion but no cell bodies in the ganglion. 8. The gill ganglion may play a role in the mediation of adaptive gill reflex behaviors. It may be one of the loci where the CNS and peripheral nervous system (PNS) interact and form an integrated circuit to mediate gill withdrawal reflex (GWR) behaviors.  相似文献

Modulation of the Aplysia gill withdrawal reflex by dopamine   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
The ability of dopamine to modulate gill contractions was tested in Aplysia. When dopamine was perfused through the gill vasculature, gill contractions caused by siphon stimulation (gill withdrawal reflex) and by depolarization of the gill motor neuron L7 were increased in amplitude, as compared with those evoked during seawater perfusion. Habituation of gill movements, brought about by repetitive stimulation of the siphon or of L7, was prevented by dopamine. Despite the absence of reflex habituation, the number of action potentials in central gill motor neurons, evoked by siphon stimulation, showed normal decrement. Dopamine's effects were blocked when the ctenidial nerve was cut or when L7 hyperpolarized. These data suggest that dopamine acts peripherally to increase the efficacy of L7's synaptic transmission onto gill muscle or elements of the gill neural plexus.  相似文献

The innervation pattern of the respiratory gill arches of the carp (Cyprinus carpio) is described. The gill region is innervated by the branchial branches of the glossopharyngeal and vagal nerves. Each branchial nerve divides at the level of or just distal to the epibranchial ganglion into: 1) a pretrematic branch, 2) a dorsal pharyngeal branch, and 3) a posttrematic branch. The dorsal pharyngeal branch innervates the palatal organ in the roof of the buccal cavity. The pretrematic and posttrematic branches innervate the posterior and anterior halves, respectively, of the gill arches bordering a gill slit. Each branch splits into an internal and an external part. The internal bundle innervates the buccal side of the gill arch, including the gill rakers. The external bundle terminates in the gill filaments. The epibranchial motor branch, a small nerve bundle containing only motor fibers, circumvents the ganglion and anastomoses distally with the posttrematic branch. The rudiment of the neo-morphic organ for O2 uptake arises in the form of a gill mass formed by the gill material of the embryonic 5th gill arch. Ectodermal induction to the gill mass takes place in the post-embryonic stage of development to produce a respiratory epithelium of the neo-morphic air breathing organ. The respiratory epithelium of the opercular chamber and the buccal cavity is formed by the cells of the gill mass alone. The respiratory epithelium of the suprabranchial chamber is formed by the cells of the gill mass as well as the gill lamellae derived from the dorsal aspects of the functional gill arches (1 to 4). Extension of the suprabranchial chamber into the buccal region anteriorly is a device to increase the respiratory surface area available for O2 uptake by air. The epithelial position of the blood capillaries in the suprabranchial chamber of Periophthalmodon schlosseri signifies terrestrial nature of the fish.  相似文献

Summary (1) Scanning electron microscopy and vascular casting were used to study the morphology and vascular anatomy of the fully developed internal gills of Litoria ewingii tadpoles. — (2) The four pairs of gills were located in two branchial baskets on either side of the heart. Each gill consisted of a branchial arch with gill tufts projecting ventrally and gill filters running dorsally. The gills bore a variable number of gill tufts in which a complex three-dimensional array of capillary loops, of varying lengths and diameters, was trailed in the path of the ventilatory current. — (3) The evidence presented in this paper suggests that the gill tufts have greater potential as gas exchangers than either the gill filters or skin. — (4) The study revealed structural and functional evidence for the existence of branchial shunts between afferent and efferent branchial arteries.  相似文献

Greater success in catching fish with gill nets is possible if more the fish are attracted to the nets. Bait has been successfully used to lure fish into the gill nets. With the aim of increasing the catch efficiency of monofilament gill nets, a study was conducted between January 2009 and December 2010 to test the effect of artificial baits on the efficiency of 40, 50 and 55 mm monofilament gill nets in the Keban Dam Lake (Elaz??/Turkey). The catch rate of the baited nets was compared to similar nets without bait. Baited nets caught 482 fish (71.8% of the total, seven species). Non‐baited nets caught 189 fish (28% of the total, seven species). The majority of fish (238) were caught using baited gill nets with 40 mm mesh. The most commonly caught species was Capoeta trutta. The differences between the baited gill nets and non‐baited gill nets were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Finally, it was understood that artificially baited monofilament gill nets had higher catch efficiencies than non‐baited monofilament gill nets. Unlike most natural baits, artificial baits are re‐usable and thus more economical in the long term.  相似文献

Gill arches and the gill rakers of a sluggish, carnivorous catfish, Rita rita, show significant differences of their surface ultrastructure, which are recognized adaptive modifications in relation to food and feeding ecology of fish. Gill rakers on the first and second pairs of gill arches are borne on the oral side and are long and stout at the epi-ceratobranchial union. Gill rakers on the third and fourth pairs of gill arches, in contrast, are borne on the oral and aboral sides and are relatively delicate and short. Long and stout gill rakers on the first and second pairs of gill arches are considered primarily to prevent entry of undesirably large food items into the pharynx. Two types of taste buds, Type I and Type II, occur on the gill arches and the gill rakers. The raised taste buds, located at the apical ends of the gill rakers on the third, fourth, and the fifth pairs of gill arches could increase gustatory efficiency in the pharynx. Differences in the distribution of taste buds on the pharyngeal sides of different gill arches indicate that the posterior part of the pharynx plays a more crucial role in gustation than does the anterior part. Co-occurrence of teeth and taste buds on the epi- and hypopharyngeal bones denotes that food processing and gustation occur simultaneously in the pharynx. Villiform and caniform teeth on the epi- and hypopharyngeal bones are associated with a complex food-processing cycle. Mucous secretions, oozing through mucous cell openings, provide lubrication facilitating smooth passage of food through the pharynx. The angle of curvature at the epi-ceratobranchial union of the first to fourth pairs of gill arches could assist the ventral drag of ceratobranchials in lowering of the pharyngeal floor, thus resulting in a great expansion of the pharynx, as needed to accommodate the large quantities of food captured.  相似文献

Perfusion of the endogenous neuropeptide, FMRFamide, through the isolated gill of Aplysia facilitated the amplitude of the gill withdrawal reflex (GWR) evoked by tactile stimulation of the gill. The GWR was facilitated in a dose-dependent manner. The facilitation of the GWR produced by FMRFamide perfusion was reversible. In addition to facilitating GWR amplitude, FMRFamide perfusion could also prevent habituation of the reflex. It is hypothesized that FMRFamide may play a role in the peripheral nervous system (PNS) in the gill in the mediation of behavioral state and modulation of adaptive gill behaviors.  相似文献

The data on gill and skin dimensions of 12 freshwater catfishMystus vittatus ranging from 3 g to 23 g in relation to body weight have been analysed using logarithmic transformation. The exponent value for total gill area was 0.789; corresponding values for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gill arches and skin were 0.753, 0.772, 0.816, 0.823 and 0.631 respectively. In addition to the morphological and size characteristics of the spores, indicating the exact location and tissue specificity is also essential for differentiation of the large number of species belonging to the group of gill-parasitic fish, the myxosporeans. According to the observations of the present author, Myxobolus, Henneguya and Thelohanellus species are characterised by strict tissue specificity, and species showing affinity to the epithelium, connective tissue, cartilage or vascular tissue usually occur in a strictly defined location within the gill apparatus. Some of the species typically form plasmodia in the lamellae of the gill and others in the gill filaments. Yet other species develop their plasmodia at the base of the gill filament or in the gill arch. Instead of the generally accepted but misleading terms 'intra-' and 'interlamellar', the present author distinguishes interlamellar-epithelial and intralamellar-vascular types in the case of plasmodia developing in the gill lamellae, and intrafilamental-epithelial, intrafilamental-vascular and intrafilamental-chondroidal types in the case of plasmodia developing in the gill filaments. Regarding site of development within the gill, the location of basifilamental plasmodia and that of plasmodia developing in the cartilaginous matrix, connective tissue or blood vessels of the gill arch are well distinguishable from the above types. 对两种鲈形目鱼类黄斑篮子鱼(Siganus oramin)和金钱鱼(Scatophagus argus)的鳃结构进行扫描电镜观察。结果表明,黄斑篮子鱼和金钱鱼鳃的表面结构及微细结构与其他硬骨鱼类基本相似,鳃丝表面都具有规则或不规则分布的环形微嵴、沟、坑、孔等结构。黄斑篮子鱼的鳃片中部鳃丝表皮有大量凸起,而端部鳃丝表皮的凹凸程度明显较低,黄斑篮子鱼的鳃小片高度较金钱鱼鳃小片高。黄斑篮子鱼和金钱鱼鳃上皮的扁平上皮细胞、氯细胞和黏液细胞的形态结构及数量分布存在细微的差异。黄斑篮子鱼鳃片鳃丝的端部和中部表面有黏液细胞,金钱鱼鳃丝表面的黏液细胞很难观察到,与大多数淡水鱼类相似。黄斑篮子鱼鳃丝表面分布的氯细胞数量多于金钱鱼,这可能与两种鱼生活环境、生活习性的长期演变相关。  相似文献

Acetylcholine (ACh) dissolved in seawater and perfused through the isolated gill of the Aplysia californica produced suppression of the gill withdrawal reflex (GWR) evoked by tactile stimulation of the gill. This suppression was reversible upon washout and was blocked by co-perfusion of curare and alpha-bungarotoxin. Co-perfusion of atropine did not block the suppression of the GWR produced by ACh. We concluded that the suppressive effects produced by perfusion of ACh through the gill occur as a result of the action of ACh at the nicotinic-like receptors. The role of ACh suppression in the mediation of gill reflex behaviours is discussed.  相似文献

Summary When an isolated gill arch of the marine teleost,Ophiodon elongatus, was perfused under conditions which mimic those present in the intact animal, only two thirds of the gill lamellae were perfused. An increase in either input (afferent) pressure and flow or input pulse pressure caused an increase in the number of lamellae perfused as well as altering the distribution of the efferent outflow between the efferent artery and the venolymphatic drainage of the gill. The gill is compliant and an increase in efferent pressure reduced gill resistance to flow without altering the number of lamellae perfused. In these experiments there was no simple relationship between the number of lamellae perfused and gill resistance.These observations are of importance in the interpretation of results from pharmacological and ion exchange studies of isolated gills as well as indicating how cardiovascular changes could bring about alterations in gill blood flow in the intact fish.  相似文献

This study examines the functional gill morphology of the shortfin mako, Isurus oxyrinchus, to determine the extent to which its gill structure is convergent with that of tunas for specializations required to increase gas exchange and withstand the forceful branchial flow induced by ram ventilation. Mako gill structure is also compared to that of the blue shark, Prionace glauca, an epipelagic species with lower metabolic requirements and a reduced dependence on fast, continuous swimming to ventilate the gills. The gill surface area of the mako is about one‐half that of a comparably sized tuna, but more than twice that of the blue shark and other nonlamnid shark species. Mako gills are also distinguished from those of other sharks by shorter diffusion distances and a more fully developed diagonal blood‐flow pattern through the gill lamellae, which is similar to that found in tunas. Although the mako lacks the filament and lamellar fusions of tunas and other ram‐ventilating teleosts, its gill filaments are stiffened by the elasmobranch interbranchial septum, and the lamellae appear to be stabilized by one to two vascular sacs that protrude from the lamellar surface and abut sacs of adjacent lamellae. Vasoactive agents and changes in vascular pressure potentially influence sac size, consequently effecting lamellar rigidity and both the volume and speed of water through the interlamellar channels. However, vascular sacs also occur in the blue shark, and no other structural elements of the mako gill appear specialized for ram ventilation. Rather, the basic elasmobranch gill design and pattern of branchial circulation are both conserved. Despite specializations that increase mako gill area and efficacy relative to other sharks, the basic features of the elasmobranch gill design appear to have limited selection for a larger gill surface area, and this may ultimately constrain mako aerobic performance in comparison to tunas. Observations on the gill morphology of individual gill arches of walleye, Stizostedion vitreum vitreum and rainbow trout, Salmo gairdneri suggest that the first two arches account for the highest proportion of gill filament number, secondary lamellae number, lamellae area, and gill surface area. Interspecific comparisons suggest walleye contain a larger number of gill filaments, with a lower secondary lamellae count, but a larger gill surface area than a trout of the same weight. This is partially attributed to the larger surface area of each lamella in a walleye than in a trout.
A detailed examination suggests the surface area of a lamella is dependent on its position on the gill filament, and the position of the gill filament on the gill arch.  相似文献

The total gill area of the fish ranges from 37,537 to 56,551 lamellae. The number of lamellae per mm of the gill filament and area of lamellae knowing the respiratory gill area, the gill area per g of body weight and per cm3 of body volume were calculated to correlate the variation in gill surface area per unit weight and volume of the fish. The fish can survive for quite long out of water as the lamallae are spaced wide apart and do not adhere together.  相似文献

为了解版纳鱼螈(Ichthyophis bannanicus)胚胎和幼体鳃的退化特征,同窝卵中8枚在胚胎成熟阶段早期被随机取出剖产,随后余下的9枚卵在胚胎成熟阶段晚期时孵出或剖产,观察幼体或胚胎鳃的变化。成熟阶段早期的胚胎,初时其鳃色鲜红,鳃枝充盈,鳃丝与鳃轴近乎垂直;随后鳃色发白,鳃枝疲软,鳃丝卷曲,鳃丝与鳃轴夹角变小。成熟阶段晚期的胚胎和刚孵出的幼体,初时其鳃色纯白,鳃枝疲软,鳃丝卷曲,鳃丝与鳃轴夹角较小;随后鳃逐渐脱落。观察发现,版纳鱼螈胚胎或幼体鳃的退化模式不是重吸收,也不是重吸收加脱落,而仅为脱落。鳃退化过程经历外鳃供血减少-供血停止-鳃枝组织死亡和脱落3个阶段,每个阶段都有明显的外部形态特征。胚胎进入成熟阶段后,越早孵化,鳃枝留存越多,反之,鳃枝留存越少。发白后的鳃枝随机性脱落。  相似文献

The morphology, gill area and branchial formulae of six thalassinidean decapods ( Calocaris macandreae, Jaxea nocturna, Callianassa subterranea, Upogebia stellata, U. deltaura and U. pusilla ) are reported. Additionally, the rarely-encountered Axius stirhynchus receives brief attention. Gill formulae are presented; the simplest arrangements are found in the Callianassidae and Upogebiidae. The deeper-burrowing, deposit-feeding species that are regularly exposed to prolonged periods of hypoxia, i.e. Callianassa subterranea and Jaxea nocturna , had significantly larger gill areas than thalassinideans that occupied more oxygenated burrows ( Upogebia spp., Calocaris macandreae ). The increase in gill area was a result of flattening of the trichobranchiate gill filaments giving rise to a phylloid gill form. It is suggested that the efficiency of gas transfer, and hence diffusing capacity, was enhanced in the phylloid gill by the larger gill area and, because of the reduced cuticle thickness, by the shorter water-haemolymph diffusion distance. The increased diffusion capacity of the phylloid gill is interpreted as a functional adaptation to the more severe physicochemical burrow water conditions experienced by Callianassa subterranea and Jaxea nocturna .  相似文献
