The ethnic, tribal, sex, and age composition was studied in populations of three districts of the Tuva Republic that were remote from one another. These were the Kyzylskii (the Shinaan population), Todzhinskii, and Bai-Taiginskii raions. The Todzhinskii population was characterized by a mixed ethnic composition dominated by Tuvinians and Russians (62.35 and 35.52%, respectively); the other two districts were only inhabited by Tuvinians. The studied populations differed from one another in the set and proportions of tribal groups--in the Todzhinskii raion, Turkic tribal groups were prevalent, whereas in the Shinaan and Bai-Taiginskii populations, many tribal groups of Mongolian origin were found. The estimations of relationship by isonymy indicated a considerable contribution of geographic isolation to the genetic differentiation of the populations: the estimated relationship between the highland Shinaan and Todzhinskii populations, which are difficult of access, was the minimum (Ri = 0.00262); the coefficients of the relationship by isonymy between the Shinaan and Bai-Taiginskii populations and between the Todzhinskii and Bai-Taiginskii populations were 0.00336 and 0.00483, respectively. All the studied populations were characterized by a "growing" age pyramid; however, the Bai-Taiginskii and Todzhinskii populations showed a tendency to narrowing its base. In addition, these two populations exhibited an unfavorable sex ratio at the reproductive age. The obtained results suggest that the Tuva population is genetically heterogeneous, which is accounted for by the tribal characteristics, the history of populations, and the geographic characteristics of the region.  相似文献

The age limits of the female reproductive function, vital statistics, and Crow's indices were estimated in populations of three districts of the Tuva Republic that were remote from one another. These were the Kyzyl (the Shinaan population), Todzhinskii, and Bai-Taiginskii raions. The monoethnic Shinaan population was characterized by the longest reproductive period (15.88 years) but the lowest average number of pregnancies throughout the reproductive period (5.77); childbirth was an outcome of 86.72% of pregnancies. In the Bai-Taiginskii population, which was also monoethnic but lived in an industrial area of Tuva, these parameters were 12.99 years, 7.06 pregnancies, and 81.97%, respectively. The Todzhinskii population, which was ethnically mixed, exhibited the shortest actual reproductive period (10.72 years) and the greatest average number of pregnancies throughout the reproductive period (7.29), with the proportion of pregnancies ending in childbirth as low as 48.30%. The indices of potential selection and their components related to differential mortality and differential fertility were the following: in the Shinaan population, Itot = 0.59, Im = 0.19, and I(f) = 0.34; in the Bai-Taiginskii population, Itot = 0.48, Im = 0.18, and I(f) = 0.26; and in the Todzhinskii population, Itot = 0.90, Im = 0.23, and I(f) = 0.55. Thus, reproductive parameters in the studied populations of the Tuva Republic were largely determined by the ethnic composition of the population and social factors.  相似文献

No information is currently available on the marriage patterns of German-speaking communities of the South Tyrol area. The aim of this study is to investigate the reproductive isolation of four South Tyrolean mountain villages during the 19th century. Data about 3953 marriages were drawn from existing pedigrees and completed with data from the parish registers of the studied villages to calculate the following indicators: age at marriage, endogamy, inbreeding from dispensations and from isonymy and repeated pairs of surnames among couples. The results show high levels of endogamy (78-87%) and an elevated age at marriage in all the studied villages. The percentages of consanguineous marriages (10-33%) vary considerably but result overall in relatively low inbreeding values (alpha 0.0015-0.0036; Ft 0.0098-0.0138). Levels of endogamy are consistent with the geographic characteristics of the area, while inbreeding values are lower than those observed in previous studies on Alpine communities. This is due to a low frequency of marriages between close relatives, probably related to the peculiar demographic and cultural characteristics of the studied populations that differentiate them from neighbouring Italian-speaking villages.  相似文献

Population genetic characteristics were estimated in the Alatyr' raion (administrative district) of the Republic of Chuvashia, which has long been populated by three ethnic groups. The ethnic assortativeness values in the town of Alatyr' and the rural area of the district were 1.17 and 1.21, respectively, for Russians; 1.14 and 4.82, respectively, for Chuvashes; and 1.33 and 2.45, respectively, for Mordovians. Wright's statistics were as follows: Fst = 0.00358, Fit = 0.00178, and Fis = 0.00134. The migration indices were 0.0264 for Alatyr' and 0.0178 for the district. The endogamy indices for the total and the Russian populations of Alatyr' were 0.47 and 0.53, respectively. The parameters of isolation by distance were a = 0.000189 and b = 0.00959 for the urban and a = 0.000318 and b = 0.00919 for the rural area. Schemes of the genetic landscape were constructed. The influence of the polyethnic composition on the genetic structure of the population is discussed.  相似文献

Polymorphism of three rural populations of the Tuva Republic was examined using a set of five autosomal Alu insertions at the ACE, PLAT, PV92, APOA1, and F13B loci. The allele frequency distribution patterns revealed in Tuvinians were typical to Mongoloid populations of Asia and were characterized by relatively high frequency of the Alu-repeat insertion at the PV92 and F13B loci along with relatively low insertion frequency at the APOA1 locus. With respect to the test systems used, Tuvinian populations examined displayed high levels of genetic diversity. The mean expected heterozygosity values in the populations of Kugurtug, Toora-Khem, and Teeli were 0.433, 0.407, and 0.437, respectively. The level of genetic diversity in the pooled Tuvinian sample was 0.432. The coefficient of genetic differentiation in the three populations studied was 1.45 pointing to relatively low level of genetic subdivision of the indigenous Tuvinian populations. However, estimates of genetic differentiation of the Tuvinian gene pool made by use of the Alu-repeat system were higher compared to those performed using classical protein systems, mtDNA, or Y-chromosomal haplotypes. Even though Tuvinian populations were characterized by common gene pool, some features specific to Western Tuvinian population could be distinguished. These features could be associated with higher contribution of the Caucasian component to the gene pool of this population. Phylogenetic analysis demonstrated close genetic relationships between the Tuvinian and Altaic ethnic populations.  相似文献

This article continues the series of publications on the population genetic structure of the Tuva Republic. The polymorphism of immunological (ABO, MN, and the Dd locus of Rhesus) and biochemical (TF, GC, HP, PGD, PGM1, ACP1, and ESD) marker systems was studied in three rural populations of the Tuva Republic: the Shinaanskii, Todzhinskii, and Bai-Taiginskii populations (the Kungurtug, Toora-Khem, and Teeli villages, respectively). Genetic subdivision of the populations and genetic distances between the Tuvinian populations and the populations of neighboring regions were estimated. Tuvinians were demonstrated to be genetically heterogeneous. Data on their population-genetic structure with respect to several classical marker systems agree with the results obtained for quasigenetic (family names) and molecular (mtDNA) markers. Prolonged isolation of individual populations in the republic promoted formation of specific patterns of gene frequencies in some of them. These patterns account for differences between Tuvinians and other populations belonging to the Altaic language family. Tuvinians in general are genetically closer to Mongolian populations inhabiting the regions bordering the Tuva Republic than to southern Altaians.  相似文献

As part of systematic research carried out by the Laboratory of Genetic Epidemiology of the Research Center for Medical Genetics, the marriage and migratory structure of the urban population of Karachay-Cherkessia was studied. Numerical estimates of the population-genetic parameters were obtained from 11346 marriage records for 1990–2000. The endogamy, ethnic assortativeness, miscegenation and local inbreeding intensities, and mean-square migration for the four cities Cherkessk, Karachayevsk, UstDzheguta, and Teberda were estimated. It is shown that the autochthonic urban population is highly miscegenated, despite the traditional preference for monoethnic marriages. Half of the Russian urban population is migrant; the autochthonic urban population is substantially formed of Karachay-Cherkessia natives of.  相似文献

In this paper, the structure of a southeastern Spanish population was studied for the first time with respect to its inbreeding patterns and its relationship with demographic and geographic factors. Data on consanguineous marriages (up to second cousins) from 1900 to 1969 were taken from ecclesiastic dispensations. Our results confirm that the patterns and trends of inbreeding in the study area are consistent with those previously observed in most non-Cantabrian Spanish populations. The rate of consanguineous marriages was apparently stable between 1900 and 1935 and then sharply decreased since 1940, which coincides with industrialization in Spain. A marked departure from Hardy-Weinberg expectations (0.25) in the ratio of first cousin (M22) to second cousin (M33) marriages in the study population (0.88) was observed. The high levels of endogamy (>80%) and its significant steadiness throughout the twentieth century is noteworthy. Accordingly, our results show that exogamous marriages were not only poorly represented but also that this reduced mobility (<6 km) suggests that the choice of a mate was preferentially local. We found higher mobility in M22 with respect to M33 cousin mating. The relationships between population size and consanguinity rates and inbreeding fit power-law distributions. A significant positive correlation was observed between inbreeding and elevation. Many Spanish populations have experienced a prolonged and considerable isolation across generations, which has led to high proportions of historical and local endogamy that is associated, in general, with high \( \overline{F} \) values. Thus, assessing genomic inbreeding using runs of homozygosity (ROH) in current Spanish populations could be an additional pertinent strategy for obtaining a more refined perspective regarding the population history inferred from the extent and frequency of ROH regions.  相似文献

Two sample populations, one refugee and one resident, were studied. The frequencies of consanguineous marriages came out to be 49.8%and 55.4%, respectively, for the refugees and the residents. Caste endogamy was dominant both in the residents and the refugees. The mean coefficient of inbreeding was calculated to be 0.0303 for the refugee population and 0.0332 for the resident population samples. First cousin marriage was the dominant type of marriage in both samples; father's brother's daughter (FBD) marriage was more frequent among the refugees while mother's brother's daughter(MBD) marriage was more frequent among the residents. Education has no decreasing effect on the incidence of consanguineous marriages. A significant difference in the pattern of marriages in the refugees is observed after the Saur Revolution of 1979.  相似文献

A genetic demographic study has been performed in the city of Belovo with the use of the data on marriages contracted there in 1970 and 1994-1999. Marriage assortativeness with respect to age has been found to be the strongest and remain unchanged during the lifetime of one generation (r = 0.730 in 1970 and r = 0.801 in 1994-1999). Monoethnic marriages were substantially more frequent than interethnic ones in the Belovo population during the period studied, although the ethnic marriage assortativeness considerably decreased (K = 0.386 in 1970 and K = 0.141 in 1994-1999). Panmixia has been observed in the Russian population of Belovo. Other Eastern Slavs (Ukrainians and Belarussians) are characterized by negative marriage assortativeness and panmixia; positive marriage assortativeness has been found in other ethnic groups.  相似文献

Marriage records have been used to study the marriage migration structure of five raions of the Rostov oblast. The mean ethnic marriage assortativeness in the Russian and Ukrainian rural populations are 1.16 and 1.6, respectively. The endogamy index of the urban population varies from 0.19 to 0.34; and that of the rural population, from 0.21 to 0.54. Malecot's isolation by distance parameters have been calculated. Genetic landscapes have been constructed.  相似文献

Migrations, dynamics of the gametic structure of rural populations, and marriage structure with respect to birthplaces and inbreeding estimated from isonymy have been studied in the Ust-Aldan ulus (administrative district) of Sakha Republic (Yakutia). The villages studied (Byadi, Dyupsya, and Cheriktey) are characterized by intense migration; however, the migration radius is small (most migrations occur within the district). The rural populations studied differ in the intensities and directions of gamete flows and their dynamics. There is no substantial gamete flow into the Ust-Aldan population from outside Sakha Republic. About 50% of marriages contracted in this population are homolocal (between residents of the same district); the endogamy is low (15%). In most cases of heterolocal marriages (contracted between residents of different districts), one of the spouses is a local resident. The inbreeding estimated from isonymy is FTT = 0.002930 in Yakuts; it is mainly accounted for by the nonrandom component (FIS = 0.002232 and FST = 0.000700).  相似文献

Analysis of records of the marriages that were contracted in the city of Donetsk revealed that, between 1960 and 1992, the marriage rate in the city decreased from 14.8 to 4.7 per 1000 people, the migration rate (m) decreased from 0.71 to 0.34, and the endogamy index increased from 0.123 to 0.458. Between 1960 and 1985, outbreeding in the Donetsk population increased, which was expressed in an increase in the frequency of interethnic marriages, migration range, and the average marital distance, as well as a decrease in the proportion of the indigenous ethnic group (Ukrainians). By 1992, outbreeding decreased: the population became more homogeneous ethnically (93% Slavic), the proportion of Ukrainians and the frequency of monoethnic marriages increased, and the average marital distance decreased. In 1960 and 1992, the coefficients of marriage contingency (K) with respect to ethnicity were 0.34 and 0.22, respectively. Regarding birthplaces, the population became almost panmictic (in 1960 and 1992, the K values were 0.15 and 0.10, respectively). Marriage structure with respect to occupation remained almost unchanged (the K values were 0.22 and 0.23, respectively). Throughout the entire period studied, the most pronounced population subdivision was that with respect to the education level (the K values were 0.36 and 0.39, respectively).  相似文献

Marriage records from parish books of the second half of the 19th century and marriage records of 1967-1970 and 1993-1995 obtained from registry offices were used to analyze the dynamics of genetically significant parameters of migration and marriage structure with respect to spouses' birthplaces in populations of different hierarchical levels in the Kursk oblast. It was found that, among the persons contracting marriage (both males and females), the proportions of those who were born in the same population and those who were born in any population of the Kursk oblast decreased by about one third and one fifth, respectively, for the 130-year period. In rural and small urban populations, the coefficients of marriage migration in the 19th century were an order of magnitude lower than in the 20th century. The immigration to urban populations was maximum in the late 1960s (m = 0.745 in small towns and m = 0.680 in Kursk), and that to rural populations, in the 1990s (m = 0.344). In both urban and rural populations, the mean distance between the spouses' birthplaces has increased by several times for the period studied. The endogamy level has decreased approximately twofold: from 0.797 to 0.380 in Kursk, from 0.897 to 0.419 in small towns, and from 0.958 to 0.440 in rural districts. The marriage assortativeness with respect to birthplace was maximum in the late 19th century (K = 0.393-0.491) and minimum in the 1960s (K = 0.155-0.246). The increase in genetic diversity of the urban population of the Kursk oblast due to migration has been slowing down since the late 20th century, whereas the outbreeding level is still increasing in rural populations.  相似文献

Genetical and demographic studies of typical rural population of Turkomen teke in Yangi-Kala village of the Ashkhabad region (about 5.000 inhabitants) were performed through the examination of a sample of 3528 persons. The population is characterised by intensive growth (mean number of children per one woman is 6.17), a high level of endogamy (the total coefficient of inbreeding being 0.010912), preserving the traditional marriage system (91.9 and 8.1% of intrageneric and intergeneric marriages, respectively). Migration does not significantly influence endogamy, because it takes place among kin families.  相似文献

Variation of Mongoloid-specific restriction sites of mitochondrial genome was analyzed in three territorial groups of Tuvinians. Distribution of mitochondrial DNA haplogroups A, B, C, and D on the territory of the Tuva Republic was estimated. The populations studied did not display distinct differentiation in respect to the mtDNA polymorphism. The specific feature of Tuvinian mitochondrial gene pool was the prevalence of only one haplogroup C (over 40%), mainly represented by two mitotypes. The high frequency of this haplogroup makes Tuvinians similar to more northern Siberian populations. On the other hand, the presence of haplogroup B indicates that Tuvinians have affinity to ethnic groups of Central Asia.  相似文献
