Starting from capric acid, hydrazone and thiazolidin-4-one derivatives have been synthesized in the present investigation. Decanoic acid hydrazide was reacted appropriately to yield hydrazones, which were then cyclized to yield the corresponding thiazolidin-4-ones. The structures of the newly synthesized compounds were confirmed by analytical and spectral methods. Anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and hydrogen peroxide-scavenging activity of the title compounds were evaluated. Among synthesized compounds, 2-hydroxyphenyl thiazolidinone with 44.90% inhibition of inflammation was the most potent anti-inflammatory agent. Similarly, 4-methoxybenzylidine hydrazide with 64.90% inhibition of writhing was observed to be the most potent analgesic agent of the synthesized compounds. All the synthesized compounds exhibited potent hydrogen peroxide-scavenging activity.  相似文献

A series of 2-sec-amino-3H-quinazolin-4-ones (4a-p) and 4-sec-amino-2-chloroquinazolines (5a-b) have been synthesized by nucleophilic substitution reaction of 2-chloro-4(3H)-quinazolones (3) and 2,4-dichloroquinazolines (2) with amines, respectively. Most of the synthesized compounds were evaluated for antihyperglycemic activity but only 4a,b,d,j,o displayed significant reduction in blood glucose level in streptozotocin and sucrose loaded rat models.  相似文献

Fluorescence-labeled glycoclusters 1 and 2 have been synthesized to elongate glycocluster units that contain beta-alanine derivative 6 and sugar unit 7. Similarly, di- and trimerized glycoclusters 3 and 4 have been obtained by coupling glycocluster 17 with succinyl chloride and/or trimesoyl chloride, respectively. A series of novel substituted 1-[bis(4-fluorophenyl)-methyl]piperazine derivatives (4a-g) and (5h-m) have been synthesized. The synthesized compounds were characterized by IR and 1H NMR. All the synthesized compounds were evaluated in vitro for their efficacy as antimicrobial agents against representative strains of Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25953, Streptococcus pneumoniae ATCC 49619, Bacillus cereus 11778, and Bacillus subtilis 6051) and Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 2853, Proteus vulgaris ATCC 2853, and Salmonella typhi ATCC 9484) by paper disc diffusion and microdilution methods. Among the newly synthesized compounds 4e, 5l, and 5m showed potent antimicrobial activities, when compared to the standard drug.  相似文献

A series of new sulfonamides have been synthesized from Ampyrone with different benzene sulfonyl chlorides to yield the N-1,5-dimethyl-3-oxo-2-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-4-yl) benzenesulfonamides (4ae). All synthesized compounds were characterized on the basis of FTIR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR, and also by the aid of mass spectral data. Further, all synthesized compounds have studied for their in vitro antimicrobial activities against selected bacterial as well as fungal strains by the agar well diffusion method. Free radical scavenging activity has been investigated by using DPPH method. Among all the synthesized compounds, 4b, 4d, and 4e exhibited significant antimicrobial and antioxidant activities.  相似文献

Five racemic ethyl 4-(3/4-acetoxyphenyl)-6-methyl-3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2-one-5-carboxylates have been synthesized by acetylation of corresponding hydroxy analogues, which in turn have been synthesized under microwave condition by multi-component Biginelli cyclocondensation of ethyl acetoacetate, urea and the corresponding hydroxybenzaldehydes in the presence of ferric chloride. These dihydropyrimidinones have been subjected to biocatalytic resolution using acetoxyl group on the phenyl ring as remote handle; Novozyme®-435, an immobilized lipase from Candida antarctica in THF:DIPE has been found to catalyze the deacetylation reactions in an enantioselective fashion.  相似文献

27-Oxomilbemycins A3 and A4 and 27-hydroxymilbemycins A3 and A4 were identified as metabolites in soil metabolism studies of milbemycins A3 and A4. Chemical derivation methods were developed to synthesize 27-oxomilbemycins A3 and A4 and 27-hydroxymilbemycins A3 and A4 from milbemycins A3 and A4. In addition, 27-alkoxymilbemycin derivatives were also synthesized from the same precursors. Some of the synthesized compounds displayed satisfactory acaricidal activity against the organophosphorus-sensitive two-spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae), but did not have superior activity to corresponding milbemycins A3 and A4.  相似文献

The synthesis and the biological (antioxidant and antiviral) activities of novel hydroxycinnamic acid amides of a thiazole containing TFA.valine-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester are reported. The amides have been synthesized from p-coumaric, ferulic and sinapic acids with the corresponding TFA.valine-thiazole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester using the coupling reagent N-ethyl-N′-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC) and 4-(dimethylamino) pyridine (DMAP) as a catalyst. The antioxidant properties of the newly synthesized amides have been studied for then antioxidative activity using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH)* test. The newly synthesized compounds have been tested against the replication in vitro of influenza virus A (H3N2) and human herpes virus 1 and 2 (HSV-1 and HSV-2).  相似文献

Novel thiourea- and guanidine-modified acridine-4-carboxamides (4, 7) and a corresponding platinum-intercalator conjugate (4') have been synthesized and evaluated as cytotoxic agents in human promyelocytic leukemia, HL-60, and a non-small cell lung cancer, NCI-H460. Modification of thiourea sulfur in derivative 4 with a DNA platinating moiety, giving 4', resulted in a pronounced cytotoxic enhancement, and the conjugate proved to be the most active of the newly synthesized compounds in NCI-H460 cells. Conjugate 4' represents a new chemotype with potential applications in the treatment of chemoresistant tumors.  相似文献

The novel RGDF mimetics 9a and 9b were synthesized with the use of 4-(isoindoline-5-yl)amino-4-oxobutyric acid as a surrogate of Arg-Gly motif. Various 6-aryl-4-substituted-2H-pyran-2-one-3-carbonitriles (1a-d) have been synthesized as precursor for the synthesis of 3,4-dihydro-1H-isothiochroman (2a) and benzocycloalkanes (2b-e). Highly functionalized 9-thiaphenanthrene (3b) and phenanthrene (3a) have also been obtained from the reaction of 1c with thiochroman-4-one and 1-tetralone separately. Similarly 4 has been obtained by the ring transformation of 1d by 4-trifluoromethylacetophenone. Most of the synthesized compounds were evaluated for alpha-glucosidase and protein tyrosine phosphatase inhibitory activities. Some of the compounds, 2a, 3a and b and 4 displayed better alpha-glucosidase inhibitory activity compared to standard drug acarbose.  相似文献

A number of novel 1-(3-arylprop-2-ynyl) substituted 1,2-dihydroquinoline derivatives related to nimesulide and their 2-oxo analogues have been designed as potential inhibitors of PDE4. All these compounds were synthesized by using Sonogashira coupling as a key step. In vitro PDE4B inhibitory properties and molecular modeling studies of some of the compounds synthesized are presented.  相似文献

The polyagglutinable erythrocytes NOR contain unusual neutral glycolipids reactive with anti-NOR antibodies. The disaccharide alpha-D-Galp-(1-->4)-D-GalpNAc and the trisaccharide alpha-D-Galp-(1-->4)-beta-D-GalpNAc-(1-->3)-D-Gal corresponding to the non-reducing end of a NOR glycolipid (NOR1) were chemically synthesized. The syntheses were based on a common (1-->4)-beta-D-GalNAc precursor, and utilized benzyl glycoside and benzyl ether functions for persistent blocking of hydroxyls. The alpha-D-Galp-(1-->4)-beta-D-GalpNAc structural element has been found only recently in Nature, and derivatives thereof have not been synthesized before. Both the synthesized oligosaccharides inhibited specifically human anti-NOR antibodies, the trisaccharide being 300 times more active than the disaccharide.  相似文献

A novel series of azobenzene isothiouronium salts of different alkyl chains (propyl, hexyl and dodecyl) were synthesized by reaction of 4-((4-methylphenyl)azo)phenol with 1,3-dibromopropane, 1,6-dibromohexane and 1,12-dibromododecane, respectively. These salts were reacted with copper (II) halide to give their corresponding metallo complexes. The surface tension measurements for the synthesized compounds show that the metallo complexes have adsorption and micellization better than that of the parent azobenzene isothiouronium salts. The pathogenic Gram-negative bacteria, Gram-positive bacteria, fungi and yeast were used to determine the biocidal activity of these compounds using gradient plate technique. The results indicate that the copper complexes of the synthesized azobenzene isothiouronium salts have a relatively better biocidal activity than the parent salts.  相似文献

Previous studies have shown that the glycoprotein oligosaccharides synthesized by adult Schistosoma mansoni, the organism responsible for human schistosomiasis, are unusual in that they contain terminal beta-GalNAc residues and lack sialic acid. These observations and other studies indicating that schistosome glycoproteins and glycolipids are antigenic in infected animals led us to investigate the structures of the glycosphingolipids synthesized by these organisms and to determine whether they are structurally related to those synthesized by their vertebrate hosts. For our studies, adult schistosomes were metabolically radiolabeled with either [3H]galactose or [3H]glucosamine, and the newly synthesized glycosphingolipids were isolated and characterized. The major glycosphingolipids synthesized by adult schistosomes were found to be galactosylceramide and glucosylceramide. The adult worms synthesized no lactosylceramide (Gal beta 1-4Glc-ceramide), a common constituent of vertebrate cells; however, another disaccharide-containing glycosphingolipid cleavable by ceramide glycanase was found. The results of compositional and methylation analyses and exoglycosidase treatments demonstrated that this ceramide-disaccharide has the structure GalNAc beta 1-4Glc-ceramide. We also found that extracts of adult schistosomes are unable to transfer Gal from UDP-Gal to glucosylceramide, whereas extracts of Chinese hamster ovary cells, as a control, are able to do so, confirming that schistosomes are unable to synthesize lactosylceramide. Low levels of higher molecular weight glycosphingolipids were also found to be synthesized by adult schistosomes, and although their levels were too small to allow definitive characterization, compositional analyses indicated that they also contained GalNAc. We have tentatively designated the new disaccharide structure GalNAc beta 1, 4Glc- the "schistocore", which may represent a new type of glycosphingolipid core series.  相似文献

Oxygenated chalcones (3a,b) and bischalcones (4a-j) have been synthesized and evaluated for antimalarial activity against chloroquine sensitive and resistant strains of Plasmodium berghei in mice. Some of the screened compounds, 3a, 4c, 4e, 4f and 4i, have shown significant activity at 100 mg/kg dose against sensitive strain.  相似文献
