The aim of the study was to examine numerous features of argyrophilic proteins related to nucleolar organizer regions (AgNORs) in thyroid tumors, relate them to PCNA expression and evaluate which of these features might be useful in the diagnosis of thyroid lesions. Paraffin sections of 100 thyroid tumors were silver-stained and divided into 9 groups: nodular goiter (NG), simple adenoma (SA), microfollicular adenoma (MFA), follicular carcinoma (FC), follicular variant of papillary carcinoma (PC-F), classical variant of papillary carcinoma (PC-C), Hürthle cell adenoma (HA), Hürthle cell carcinoma (HC), and anaplastic carcinoma (AC). The slides were analyzed with the computerized system for image analysis. A weak correlation was found between PCNA expression and AgNOR size. AC differed significantly from all other examined groups in many features of AgNOR dots. Hürthle cell neoplasms were characterized by the presence of a usually single and relatively large dot. With respect to diagnosing follicular lesions, we found that the evaluation of the total area of dots in the nucleus seemed to be the most useful for discrimination: the assumption of 4.9 micro m2, as a cut-off value, allowed a correct classification of 77% of FC cases. Computer-aided morphometric analysis of AgNORs may be useful in the diagnostics of thyroid lesions.  相似文献

INTRODUCTION: Intracytoplasmic lumens (ICL) with or without magenta material and transgressing vessels are features of Hürthle cell neoplasms (HCN). After detection of intracytoplasmic colloid inclusions (CIs) including targetoid (magenta) body-like structures in the Hürthle cells (HC) in a case of Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT), we reviewed cases of HT, thyroid neoplasms, hyperplastic nodules (HN) and colloid goitres to determine the frequency of these structures. Further, an attempt was made to find out the significance of CIs. METHODS: FNA smears of 120 HT, 101 colloid goitres, 11 HN, and 76 neoplastic goitres were examined. The presence of CIs and empty ICL were noted in epithelial cells in these lesions. An attempt was made to find out the difference between HT with and without CIs in respect of various cytomorphologic features. The groups were compared using the Fisher's exact test of probability. RESULTS: The CIs were present in 36 (30.0%) of HT, 26 (34.2%) of neoplastic goitres, 3 (27.3%) of HN, and 4 (4.0%) colloid goitres. As compared to colloid goitres, CIs were present in a significant higher number of cases in HN (P = 0.0202), neoplastic goitres (P < 0.0001), and HT (P < 0.0001). Among neoplasms the frequency of CIs in HCN (75.0%) was significantly higher than that of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) (33.3%, P = 0.0466), and follicular neoplasm (14.3%, P = 0.0083). The CIs were more frequent in HC in HT and HCN but in follicular cells (FC) in other lesions. The HT cases with CIs differed significantly from those without CIs in respect of HC and their cellularity, cellularity of reactive lymphoid cells, extracellular colloid and empty ICL. CONCLUSION: Care should be taken not to diagnose HT cases with an excessive Hürthle cell component and CIs, and PTC cases with Hürthlization and CIs, as HCN in FNA smears. Based on review of the literature and our findings, it is suggested that the Hürthle cell metaplasia in HT is a survival response of FC and the presence of CIs in Hürthle cell may represent their limited ability to synthesize colloid.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To determine the accuracy of cytologic interpretation in the diagnosis of Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT). STUDY DESIGN: At Ottawa Hospital from 1987 to 1994, 1,638 fine needle aspiration biopsies (FNABs) from thyroid were performed. HT was suggested in 184 FNAB samples taken from 157 patients. Of the 184 aspirates diagnosed with HT, 39 had corresponding surgical specimens taken from 31 patients. A retrospective review of these FNABs and surgical pathology slides formed the basis of this study. RESULTS: In 27 (69%) aspirates, HT was diagnosed on both the FNAB and surgical specimens. In 10 of 27 FNABs an associated lesion was not sampled by FNAB. In four of these 10 aspirates some of the cellular features of HT were misinterpreted, and the possibility of an associated neoplasm could not be ruled out. This resulted in four false positive diagnoses. In 12 (31%) FNABs from nine patients, the cytologic diagnosis of HT was not confirmed histologically. These cases included five Hürthle cell adenomas and one case each of follicular adenoma, nodular goiter, macrofollicular adenoma and malignant lymphoma. This resulted in five false negative diagnoses. CONCLUSION: These results support the value of FNAB in the diagnosis of HT. The presence of hyperplastic follicular cells on FNAB samples from HT may mimic a follicular neoplasm and result in a false positive interpretation. Adequate sampling of the thyroid is important, particularly when there is an associated lesion. The diagnosis of lymphocytic thyroiditis should not be made when only a few lymphocytes are present. Finally, pleomorphic Hürthle cells may be present in aspirates from Hürthle cell neoplasms and underdiagnosed as HT, especially when they are associated with a few lymphocytes.  相似文献

ObjectiveTo report a case of hyperthyroidism associated with Hülllnnvl-ürthle cellcarcinoma and to review the literature regarding this relationship.MethodsWe describe the clinical, biochemical, radiologic, and pathologic data of a patient with Hürthle cellcarcinoma associated with thyrotoxicosis and reversible heart failure. We discuss the mechanistic aspects and review previously reported cases of functionalHürthle cellcarcinomas.ResultsA 43-year-old womanpresented with thyrotoxicosis and nonischemic cardiomyopathy. She had a “hot” nodule inthe left lobe of the thyroid onsodium pertechnetate scan. She underwent a left hemithyroidec-tomy and isthmusectomy. Pathologic findings revealed a minimally invasive Hürthle cellcarcinoma. Onfollow-up, the dilated cardiomyopathy had resolved. The associationof thyroid carcinoma with thyrotoxicosis is rare.ConclusionsSome Hürthle cellcarcinomas canbe functionaland lead to thyrotoxicosis. To our knowledge, we present the first case of reversible dilated cardiomyopathy due to thyrotoxicosis originating from Hülll-ürthle cellcarcinoma. (Endocr Pract. 2012;18:e5-e9)  相似文献

Objective: The accurate diagnosis of thyroid follicular/Hürthle cell tumors is challenging and a matter of controversy. We present a series of patients in whom a misclassification of follicular/Hürthle cell thyroid lesions as benign has led to devastating clinical outcomes. Methods: The Thyroid Cancer Registry of Rabin Medical Center was screened for patients with metastatic differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) who had been initially diagnosed with benign follicular lesion between 1974 and 2015 and treated with hemithyroidectomy. Clinical, pathologic, and outcome data were collected from the medical files. Adequate pathology specimens, when available, were re-evaluated.Results: Seven patients met the inclusion criteria. The original pathologic diagnosis was follicular adenoma in 4 patients and Hürthle cell adenoma in 3 patients. Five patients had bone metastases, of whom one also had lung metastases and one, liver metastases. One patient had both cervical and lung metastases, and 1 patient had only meta-static neck lymph nodes. Six patients had a final diagnosis of encapsulated follicular variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma (EFVPTC), and 1 patient was diagnosed as having follicular thyroid cancer metastasis by bone biopsy. In 3 of the patients, capsular invasion was detected retrospectively; only 1 patient had evidence of vascular invasion. All 7 patients had high levels of thyroglobulin at diagnosis of metastatic DTC.Conclusion: Misclassification of follicular thyroid lesions as benign may lead to progressive disseminated DTC. To minimize the clinical risk of misdiagnosis, especially if a thorough evaluation of the specimens by an experienced pathologist is unfeasible, we suggest long-term follow-up of serum thyroglobulin levels.Abbreviations: DTC = differentiated thyroid carcinoma; EFVPTC = encapsulated follicular variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma; FVPTC = follicular variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma; NIFTP = noninvasive follicular thyroid neoplasm with papillary-like nuclear features; PTC = papillary thyroid carcinoma  相似文献

ObjectivesHürthle cells are a common finding on thyroid fine-needle aspiration, but when they are the predominant cytology, they represent a difficult diagnostic challenge. The Thyroid Nodule App (TNAPP) is a new, publicly available web application utilizing ultrasound (US) features based on the updated 2016 American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists clinical practice guidelines for thyroid nodule management. This pilot study was performed to assess the TNAPP recommendations and surgical pathology outcomes of Hürthle cell-predominant thyroid nodules.MethodsA retrospective review of nodules with Bethesda III (atypia of undetermined significance with Hürthle cells) or Bethesda IV (suspicious for Hürthle cell neoplasm) cytology, for which surgery was performed between 2017 and 2021, was conducted. TNAPP US categories 1, 2, and 3 (low, intermediate, and high risk, respectively) were assigned based on nodule characteristics, and clinical management recommendations were recorded. Results were compared with histology-proven diagnoses.ResultsFifty-nine nodules in 57 patients where surgical pathology was available were analyzed with the TNAPP algorithm. Of the 59 nodules, 4 were US category 1 (low risk/suspicion), 40 were US category 2 (intermediate risk/suspicion), and 15 were US category 3 (high risk/suspicion). All US category 1 nodules were benign, while 30% of the US category 2 and 40% of the US category 3 nodules were malignant. Of the patients who had molecular marker testing with ThyroSeq, 22 out of 29 (76%) were positive, indicating either an intermediate or high risk of malignancy, 7 of which were malignant.ConclusionThis preliminary study suggests that TNAPP is a useful clinical tool for sonographic assessment of thyroid nodules with Hürthle cell cytology.  相似文献

ObjectiveTo report an unusual clinical scenario and a rare histopathologic finding of Hürthle cell thyroid carcinoma in a patient with an autonomous thyroid nodule.MethodsWe describe the presentation and clinical course leading to the surprising histopathologic diagnosis of Hürthle cell carcinoma in a pediatric patient who was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism presenting as a solitary toxic nodule.ResultsA 13-year-old white girl presented with a recent history of a palpable thyroid nodule during a routine primary care clinic visit. She was asymptomatic, and thyroid function tests revealed a suppressed thyrotropin concentration, high-normal free thyroxine concentration, and elevated triiodothyronine concentration. The patient underwent dedicated thyroid ultrasonography revealing a 3.5-cm complex mass in the left lobe with increased central vascularity. Iodine 123 imaging of the thyroid demonstrated homogenous, hyperintense activity in the left lobe. The right lobe was not visualized. A solitary toxic nodule was diagnosed, and, considering her age, she was referred for surgical management. The patient underwent a left lobectomy with isthmusectomy. Pathologic examination revealed a 5-cm, encapsulated, well-differentiated Hürthle cell carcinoma with negative margins and no lymphovascular invasion. The patient underwent subsequent completion thyroidectomy with no evidence of residual carcinoma in the right thyroid lobe.ConclusionsMalignancy in autonomously functioning thyroid nodules is rare. Most of the thyroid nodules presenting as “hot” on radioiodine scintigraphy are benign follicular adenomas. However, this case represents a rare clinical entity, and it highlights the need for clinicians to be vigilant and aware that occasionally carcinomas can masquerade as scintigraphic “hot” nodules. BACKGROUND: Poorly differentiated oxyphilic (Hürthle cell) carcinomas are a more recently described variant of poorly differentiated thyroid carcinoma and are characterized by a prominent Hürthle cell component in a solid or trabecular arrangement. Clinically, poorly differentiated oxyphilic carcinomas behave more aggressively as compared to classic Hürthle cell carcinomas, which have a predominantly follicular pattern. Although the histology of these rare thyroid tumors has been reported in the literature, the cytologic features on fine needle aspiration biopsy have not been described before. CASE: A 73-year-old man with a long history of radioactive iodine and levothyroxine therapy for multinodular goiter presented with a painful, rapidly expanding, 6-cm, left thyroid mass with aggressive radiologic features. Fine needle aspiration biopsy of the mass yielded extremely cellular smears with a dual population of medium-sized follicular cells and numerous Hürthle cells. Subsequent thyroidectomy confirmed the malignant nature of this Hürthle cell-rich tumor, warranting a diagnosis of poorly differentiated oxyphilic (Hürthle cell) thyroid carcinoma. CONCULSION: Poorly differentiated oxyphilic thyroid carcinoma is an aggressive variant of Hürthle cell carcinomas and must enter the differential diagnosis when fine needle aspiration biopsy of a radiologically aggressive thyroid mass yields extremely hypercellular smears with a prominent Hürthle cell component.  相似文献

ObjectiveIn the last 6 years, several studies reported a positive association between thyrotropin (TSH) and papillary cancer risk. The rationale is based on stimulatory action exerted by TSH on thyroid cell proliferation and/ or progression of a pre-existing papillary carcinoma. To validate this hypothesis, we performed a meta-analysis comparing the incidence of thyroid cancer in 2 groups of patients who underwent surgery for toxic or nontoxic nodular goiter.MethodsUsing data from 2,150 patients with toxic multinodular goiter (TMNG) and 873 patients with toxic adenoma (TA), the overall incidence of thyroid cancer (and 95% confidence interval [CIs]) was estimated to be 5.9% (3.9 to 8.3) for patients with TMNG and 4.8% (2.5 to 7.9) for patients with TA. Four studies were included in the meta-analysis with a total of 1,964 subjects undergoing thyroidectomy for allegedly benign thyroid disease (520 patients with TMNG or TA and 1,444 for multinodular goiter [MNG] or uninodular goiter [UNG]).ResultsWe did not find any significant differences in the risk of incidental thyroid cancer (ITC) in patients with TMNG versus MNG (odds ratio [OR]: 0.91, 95% CI: 0.47 to 1.77, I4: 62.6%), TA versus uninodular goiter (UNG) (OR: 0.46, 95% CI: 0.12 to 1.79, I5: 12%), and TMNG or TA versus MNG or UNG (pooled analysis) (OR: 0.86, 95% CI: 0.46 to 1.60, I6: 51.5%).ConclusionsThe results of this meta-analysis did not confirm an association between low TSH values and lower thyroid cancer rate, at least in patients with nodular disease. This report describes our experience with immunocytochemical staining of routinely processed smears in the fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy diagnosis of 16 tumors of the head and neck. Immunocytochemistry (ICC) was performed on alcohol-fixed or air-dried smears using commercially available monoclonal antibodies followed by a streptavidin-biotinylated peroxidase labeling method. In 12 aspirates with cytologically unclassifiable and undifferentiated cells, immunostaining for cytokeratin, leukocyte common antigen, S-100 protein and vimentin provided conclusive evidence of cell lineage. ICC permitted the correct identification and differential diagnosis of four additional tumors: a positive immunoreaction for thyroglobulin identified a metastatic Hürthle cell carcinoma of the thyroid; a coexpression of two distinct classes of intermediate filaments helped support the FNA diagnoses of a parathyroid adenoma and of a synovial sarcoma; and the double immunoreaction for CD15 and CD30 antigens helped identify Reed-Sternberg cells within an unusually suppurative harvest. Two immunostains were required for proper diagnosis in 13 cases and four in the remaining 3. In all cases but one only unstained slides were used. These data demonstrate that immunostaining can conveniently and advantageously be performed on direct smears of aspirated samples of head and neck lesions, but cases should be carefully selected for this procedure.  相似文献

A prospective diagnosis of metastatic thyroid carcinoma was made on an aspirate of a spinal mass. While the cellular component of the aspirate was compatible with a renal or hepatic neoplasm, the recognition of colloid on air-dried smears defined the cells as Hürthle cells. Biopsy of the spinal tumor and subsequent thyroidectomy revealed a Hürthle cell carcinoma. Whereas the primary tumor showed typical Hürthle cell architecture, with solid tumor nests and microfollicle formation, the metastasis contained areas of macrofollicle formation with abundant colloid production and strong immunocytochemical reactivity for thyroglobulin. This change of histologic pattern from the primary tumor to the metastasis has not been previously reported in Hürthle cell lesions. The unusual light microscopic and ultrastructural aspects of this tumor are discussed.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To study the cytologic findings of follicular variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma (FVPTC) and to compare them with the cytologic findings on other thyroid lesions. STUDY DESIGN: The study group consisted of aspirate smears from 15 cases of histologically proven FVPTC. The control group consisted of 152 cases, including adenomatous colloid goiter (70), usual papillary carcinoma (40), follicular adenoma (30), Hürthle cell neoplasm (7) and medullary carcinoma (5). RESULTS: The smears of FVPTC revealed numerous colloid balls in the background, multilayered microfollicles (rosettes), numerous nuclear grooves and inclusions in the monolayer sheets of follicular cells, very rare giant cells, absence of calcification and papillary clusters. Rosettelike microfollicles and numerous colloid balls were not seen in the control group. CONCLUSION: The combination of numerous colloid balls and rosettelike microfollicles was frequently seen in FVPTC. This combination was not observed in the control group.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the discriminating potential of AgNOR area measurement and count in thyroid tumors using static cytometry equipment. STUDY DESIGN: Slides were analyzed by a computerized system for image analysis, CAS 200 (Becton & Dickinson, U.S.A.), using the Cell Measurement computer program (CAS 200, Becton & Dickinson). The argyrophilic reaction (NORs) was evaluated with a 400-fold amplification directly from the computer monitor. RESULTS: Thirty-three cases were analyzed for AgNOR staining. The cases studied included 3 goiters, 10 follicular adenomas, 6 Hürthle adenomas, 4 follicular carcinomas, 7 papillary carcinomas, and 3 Hürthle carcinomas. A total of 6,600 nuclei were evaluated. For statistical purposes, lesions were classified as benign and malignant, and both the number and the area of counted NORs showed very similar values. The NORs median among 19 benign tumors was 1.484 (SD +/- 0.265) and of 14 malignant tumors was 1.436 (SD +/- 0.414); the NORs areas were 2.6584 (SD +/- 1.0653) and 2.3643 (SD +/- 0.6320), respectively. CONCLUSION: Our results showed that AgNOR evaluation was not a significant parameter to discriminate between malignant and benign thyroid lesions.  相似文献

IntroductionThe objective of our study was to evaluate the performance of 18FDG PET/CT in aggressive histological subtypes of differentiated cancer of the thyroid and its therapeutic impact.MethodThirty-three patients (22 Hürthle cell carcinoma and 11 poorly differentiated carcinoma) who underwent FDG PET/CT were retrospectively included. Nine scans have been performed for initial staging, 16 for suspicion of recurrence (with 11 having a rising Tg), 3 for the reassessment of metastatic disease under systemic treatment and 30 systematically during follow-up. The results of PET/CT were confronted with histological data and follow-up results.ResultsThirteen out of 18 positive scans were confirmed (8 locoregional recurrences and 5 distant metastases). The majority of them were performed for a suspicion of recurrence (8) or for initial staging (2). The sensitivity, specificity, PPV, and NPV were respectively 81.2%, 88.1%, 72.2% and 92.5%. For Hürthle cell carcinoma and poorly differentiated carcinoma, the sensitivity and specificity were respectively 100% vs. 57% and 86% vs. 93%. Systematic PET scans were most of the time negative (26/30) and in accordance with histological and follow-up results. It was the same in case of scans performed for undetectable initial Tg (16/22). PET/CT modified patient management in 14% of the cases.ConclusionThis study confirms the good performances of 18FDG PET/CT for initial staging and in case of elevated Tg during the follow-up of aggressive histological subtypes of thyroid cancer. It does not seem relevant in the absence of a suspicion of recurrence or in the case of undetectable initial Tg.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To assess whether a light microscopic, semiquantitative approach could reliably distinguish between benign nonneoplastic, benign neoplastic and malignant oncocytic lesions of the breast and thyroid. STUDY DESIGN: Alcohol-fixed, Papanicolaou-stained fine needle aspiration smears of histologically proven goiter and chronic thyroiditis (18 cases), Hürthle cell adenomas (7 cases), Hürthle cell carcinomas (6 cases), fibrocystic disease (17 cases), papillomas and papillomatosis (7 cases) and apocrine carcinomas (6 cases) were rated by three independent observers using the following 10 cytologic criteria: cellularity, nuclear-cytoplasmic ratio, multinucleation, nuclear size, nuclear shape, anisonucleosis, multinucleolation, nucleolar-nuclear ratio, nucleolar size and nucleolar shape. Each of these 10 cytologic criteria was rated using a 1-3 scale. The scores for all 10 features were summed to give a total score for each case. The total scores were statistically analyzed to determine the validity and reproducibility of the summed criteria. RESULTS: The summed criteria of the total scores were reproducible between the three observers, with standard deviations ranging from 1.36 to 2.88 for thyroid and 1.72 to 2.00 for breast oncocytic lesions. The ability of the total scores to differentiate benign from malignant oncocytic lesions of the breast and thyroid was confirmed by a positive predictive value for malignancy of 67% for thyroid and 72% for breast and a negative predictive value for malignancy of 100% for nonneoplastic oncocytic lesions and > 90% for benign oncocytic neoplasms in both. The Kruskal-Wallis test revealed that the total scores were able to distinguish three diagnostic categories of nonneoplastic, benign neoplastic and malignant oncocytic breast and thyroid lesions, with P < .005. CONCLUSION: Without the expenditures of additional time, costs or materials, this semiquantitative approach compared favorably with contemporary morphometric studies involving the differential diagnosis of oncocytic cell pathology in fine needle aspiration cytology.  相似文献

ObjectiveTo assess the potential for stratification of indeterminate cytologic findings on fine-needle aspiration (FNA) of thyroid nodules in an effort to improve therapeutic strategies.MethodsWe attempted to determine the malignant risk associated with various indeterminate FNA cytologic patterns by correlation of specimens with the final histologic diagnosis. For this analysis, we identified 294 computerized medical records of surgically treated thyroid nodules during a 5-year period at our institution with the corresponding FNA cytology reports available.ResultsOf the 294 surgical cases, 162 with a positive or indeterminate cytologic report were selected, reviewed, and classified. Of 52 patients with positive cytologic findings on FNA, 51 (98%) had a final histologic report of a malignant thyroid nodule. Of 110 patients with indeterminate specimens, 30 (27%) had a final histologic diagnosis of thyroid carcinoma. The presence of nuclear atypia was predictive of thyroid carcinoma in 75% of patients, a Hürthle cell cytologic pattern was associated with a malignant thyroid nodule in 33%, and a hypercellular smear was suggestive of malignant involvement in 26% of cases. The lowest rate of malignant potential was associated with cytologic microfollicular and scant colloid alone subtype (6%).ConclusionThe results of this study show that indeterminate thyroid cytologic specimens can be subdivided into groups with different malignant risks. A microfollicular cytologic pattern in the absence of a hypercellular smear or nuclear atypia does not support a recommendation of surgical treatment. A malignant cytologic diagnosis has a high positive predictive value for detection of thyroid cancer. (Endocr Pract. 2004;10:330-334)  相似文献

IntroductionThe search for a specific marker that could help to distinguish between differentiated thyroid carcinoma and benign lesions remains elusive in clinical practice. Heparanase (HPSE) is an endo-beta-glucoronidase implicated in the process of tumor invasion, and the heparanase-2 (HPSE2) modulates HPSE activity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the role of heparanases in the development and differential diagnosis of follicular pattern thyroid lesions.MethodsHPSE and HPSE2 expression by qRT-PCR, immunohistochemistry evaluation, western blot analysis and HPSE enzymatic activity were evaluated.ResultsThe expression of heparanases by qRT-PCR showed an increase of HPSE2 in thyroid carcinoma (P = 0.001). HPSE activity was found to be higher in the malignant neoplasms than in the benign tumors (P<0.0001). On Western blot analysis, HPSE2 isoforms were detected only in malignant tumors. The immunohistochemical assay allowed us to establish a distinct pattern for malignant and benign tumors. Carcinomas showed a typical combination of positive labeling for neoplastic cells and negative immunostaining in colloid, when compared to benign tumors (P<0.0001). The proposed diagnostic test presents sensitivity and negative predictive value of around 100%, showing itself to be an accurate test for distinguishing between malignant and benign lesions.ConclusionsThis study shows, for the first time, a distinct profile of HPSE expression in thyroid carcinoma suggesting its role in carcinogenesis.  相似文献

The authors employed the needle aspiration biopsy for the morphological diagnosis of thyroid malignancies of 2000 goitres. Only 3 false negative diagnoses out of 120 proved malignant tumours were done. The cytological signs of malignant thyroid cells were in the majority of cases so clear that the malignancy could be recognized without difficulty. None of the changes typical for malignant cells were found in benign euthyroid or hyperthyroid goitres. It was possible not only to recognize a malignant thyroid tumour, but also to judge the grade of its differentiation and to identify certain histological tumour types (Hürthle cell adenoma, papillary carcinoma) according to some special cytological signs. The demonstration of the nucleolar apparatus by means of a simple cytochemical technic proved to be a very useful indicator for the appreciation of the function, growth activity and malignant transformation of thyroid cells.  相似文献
