Six subjects (25.3 +/- 3.3 yr, mean +/- SD) exercised for 60 min at 42 +/- 4 [low (L)], 55 +/- 6 [moderate (M)], and 67 +/- 4 %VO2max [high (H)] in a moderate environment. Sweat collected from upper back (UB), lower back (LB), midchest (MC), stomach (S), and thigh (T) areas as well as by whole-body washdown (W) was analyzed for urea nitrogen (N). With the exception of the L where all regional measures were similar, all sites overestimated W (several significantly, P less than 0.05). Regression analysis estimations of W (mg/h) from regional collections were as follows--L: W = 0.727 (S) - 1.366(UB) + 1.181(T) + 65.470 +/- 29.5, R = 0.90; M: W = 0.598(MC) - 0.649(UB) + 0.244(LB) + 43.238 +/- 30.4, R = 0.99; H: W = 0.274(S) - 0.560(T) + 0.223(MC) + 131.104 +/- 4.3, R = 0.99; All Intensities: W = 0.497(MC) - 0.483(T) + 0.112(LB) + 69.554 +/- 31.5, R = 0.96. W recovery of exogenous urea N applied to each subject's body was 98.3 +/- 2.7% (mean +/- SE). Interinvestigator reliability coefficient (r = 0.511) was significant (P less than 0.01) but relatively low and the between investigator urea N recovery (93.3 +/- 3.7 vs. 103.2 +/- 3.5%) was significantly different (P less than 0.05). Repeated W determinations by the same investigator were not different (P greater than 0.05), but intrainvestigator reliability coefficients differed widely (0.385 vs. 0.820). Together, these data indicate that W solute recovery can be high; however, both inter- and intrainvestigator reliability can vary.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

The import of proteins into the peroxisome matrix is an essential step in peroxisome biogenesis, which is critical for normal functioning of most eukaryotic cells. The translocation of proteins across the peroxisome membrane and the dynamic behavior of the import receptors during the import cycle is facilitated by several peroxisome-membrane-associated protein complexes, one of which is called the importomer complex [B. The plant-parasitic cyst nematode Heterodera glycines requires a host plant to complete its life cycle, which involves hatching of infective juveniles that parasitize through root entry. A laboratory population of H. glycines grown on soybean, Glycine max, undergoes a sharp increase in maturity between 5 and 6 weeks in culture, as measured by the proportion of eggs containing well developed pre-hatch juveniles (late development eggs) versus eggs without visible juveniles (early development eggs). The median percent of eggs classified as late development, representing all samples taken from 4 to 7 weeks in culture, was 61%. For all samples taken up to 5 weeks, 80% scored below the median. In samples taken after 5 weeks, 15% scored below the median. This shift in population maturity was accompanied by a significant increase (P < 0.01) in the number of hatched juveniles present in each sample. There was also a significant increase (P < 0.02) in amount of FaRP-like peptide detected by specific ELISA. Total FaRP levels increased from 0.18 +/- 0.07 fMol FLRFamide equivalents per ng protein in early development eggs to 0.40 +/- 0.17 in late development eggs. The level remained high in hatched juveniles. HPLC/ELISA detected as many as nine potential FaRPs in H. glycines, two of which were specifically increased (P < 0.005) in hatched juveniles. The association of FaRPs with maturing eggs and the possible involvement of these neuropeptides with juvenile hatching and motility are discussed.  相似文献

对新种祁门过路黄及其近缘种巴东过路黄和光叶巴东过路黄的核型在居群水平上进行了比较研究。结果表明这两种植物的核型特征在种内是稳定的,同一物种的不同居群间核型无明显差异。祁门过路黄的核型为2n=2x=24=6m+6sm+6st+6t;巴东过路黄和光叶巴东过路黄的核型均为2n=2x=24=6m+4sm+6st+8t;两物种间核型差异显著,核型特征支持将祁门过路黄作为新种处理。  相似文献
