Physiological mechanisms of muscle activity during cyclic physical exercises of various intensity, including individual maximum exercise intensity, have been studied in 30 athletes. The system quantization of behavior showed that the spectral components of heart rate variability during attainment of individual maximum exercise intensity by athletes change in different directions. An increase in the individual maximum exercise intensity is accompanied by an increase in the maximum movement pace after each system quantum of muscle activity and is performed at a lower heart rate. This increases the absolute spectral power of the EEG β2 range, and each system quantum of physical activity induces adequate triggering of autonomic mechanisms ensuring the activity. The results of this study may be used for professional selection or development of criteria of the endurance of athletes with regard to high cyclic exercise intensities.  相似文献

We investigated the effect of physical exercise on the level of 8-hydroxyguanine (8-OH-Gua), a form of oxidative DNA damage, and its repair activity in human peripheral leukocytes. Whole blood samples were collected by venipuncture from 21 healthy male volunteers (10 trained athletes and 13 untrained men), aged 19-50 years, both before and after physical exercise. Trained athletes showed a lower level of 8-OH-Gua (2.4 ± 0.5/106 Gua, p = 0.0032) before exercise when compared to that of untrained men (6.2 ± 3.5). The mean levels of 8-OH-Gua of untrained subjects decreased significantly (p = 0.0057) from 6.2 ± 3.5/106 Gua (mean ± SD/106 Gua) to 3.3 ± 1.4/106 Gua after physical exercise. On the other hand, the mean levels of repair activity of untrained subjects significantly increased after exercise (p = 0.0093) from 0.037 ± 0.024 (mean DNA cleavage ratio ± SD) to 0.056 ± 0.036. In the trained athletes 8-OH-Gua level and its repair activity were not changed before and after the exercise. We also observed inter-individual differences in 8-OH-Gua levels and its repair activities. These results suggest that physical exercise causes both rapid and long-range reduction of oxidative DNA damage in human leukocytes, with individually different efficiencies.  相似文献

The physical work capacity of young men (17–21 years old) was estimated during this broad-based study. The subjects were divided into two groups depending on the level of their motor activity: those who were in general sport fitness programs (166 subjects) and those who had achieved high recognition in sports (149 subjects). Two stages in the development of physical work capacity in young men were detected. The first stage covered the 17- to 18-year-old men and was characterized by a significant increase in physical development and aerobic capacity, the improved hemodynamic responses to physical exercise, and a high tension in the cardiac regulatory mechanisms. The second stage (18–21 years) was a period of relative stabilization of physical development and body functions, during which the organism came to a new functional level typical of adulthood. A comparative analysis of the physical work capacity in subjects with different levels of motor activity showed that the indices of physical development, physical fitness, and aerobic capacity in 17-year-old athletes exceeded the same indices in the untrained age-matched group. Physical work capacity was significantly higher in athletes than in the untrained subjects during the whole juvenile period. In athletes the age-related physical fitness and aerobic capacity increased to a greater extent but physical development increased to a lesser extent than the same in the untrained subjects.  相似文献

Groups of endurance-trained masters athletes (60 +/- 2 yr), older untrained men (62 +/- 1 yr), lean older untrained men (61 +/- 2 yr), endurance-trained young athletes (26 +/- 1 yr), and young untrained men (28 +/- 1 yr) were studied to obtain information on the separate effects of age, physical activity, and body fatness on glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity. Each subject underwent an oral 100-g glucose tolerance test. Skinfold thickness was determined at six sites. The trained groups had a higher maximum O2 uptake capacity and lower sum of skinfolds than their sedentary peers. The lean older untrained group had a sum of skinfolds similar to that of the young untrained group. The masters athletes, young athletes, and young untrained men exhibited similar glucose tolerance whereas the two older untrained groups had an almost twofold greater total area under the glucose curve (P less than 0.05). The masters and young athletes had significantly blunted plasma insulin responses compared with the other three groups (P less than 0.05). The young and the lean older untrained groups had similar plasma insulin responses with significantly lower insulin levels than the older untrained group (P less than 0.05). These results provide evidence that regularly performed vigorous exercise can, in some individuals, prevent the deterioration of glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity with age.  相似文献

In chronic experiments on untrained awakening males of white rats it has been shown that the prolonged intraperitoneal injection of the opiate receptor agonist delargin (during 4, 5 days; 10 mkg/kg; twice a day) leads the chronotropic heart response to the maximum level of exercises and simultaneous decrease of heart rate variability. All this is accompanied by animals' undue fatiguability. It has been concluded that the chronic injection of opioid agonist receptors causes the decrease of sensitivity of these receptors to the action of endogenic opioids and as a consequence--the increase of sympathetic regulatory action on the heart rate at physical exercises and growth of fatiguability.  相似文献

Creatine plays a key role in muscle function and its evaluation is important in athletes. In this study, urinary creatine concentration was measured in order to highlight its possible significance in monitoring sprinters. The study included 51 sprinters and 25 age- and sex-matched untrained subjects as a control group. Body composition was measured and dietary intake estimated. Urine samples were collected before and after standardized physical exercise. Creatine was assessed by gas chromatography mass spectrometry. Basal urinary creatine (UC) was significantly lower in sprinters than controls (34±30 vs. 74±3 µmol/mmol creatinine, p < 0.05). UC was inversely correlated with body mass (r = −0.34, p < 0.01) and lean mass (r = −0.30, p < 0.05), and positively correlated with fat mass (r = 0.32, p < 0.05). After acute exercise, urinary creatine significantly decreased in both athletes and controls. UC is low in sprinters at rest and further decreases after exercise, most likely due to a high uptake and use of creatine by muscles, as muscle mass and physical activity are supposed to be greater in athletes than untrained subjects. Further studies are needed to test the value of urinary creatine as a non-invasive marker of physical condition and as a parameter for managing Cr supplementation in athletes.  相似文献

In this study, it has been aimed to examine athletes' body perception and gender role. 120 male athletes and 120 non-athletic male university students participated in the study voluntarily. In the study, as the data collecting means, The Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire-MBSRQ was used in order to determine males' body perception levels, BEM Sex Role Inventory-BSRI was used to determine gender roles and Personal Information Form developed by the researcher was used to ascertain personal features of the subjects. When the athletes' body perception levels are examined, the features of physical competence orientation, health orientation, appearance evaluation, fitness evaluation, health evaluation and body areas satisfaction have been found to be higher than non-athletes' (p < 0.05). On the other hand; no difference has been found between athletes and non-athletes in terms of appearance orientation (p > 0.05). When gender roles are examined, athletes have been found to have higher values than non-athletes' in terms of masculinity, femininity and social desirability (p < 0.05). To conclude; as well as considering sports as a factor increasing individuals' body perception level and gender role, it is also thought that athletes care about health, appearance and physical competence and are glad of body parts because of their muscled body structure developing due to the exercises and have flexible personality to show feminine and masculine features that the environment needs in terms of gender role.  相似文献

The study was designed to find out (1) whether the effect of 3-day bed rest on blood glucose (BG) and plasma insulin (IRI) responses to glucose ingestion depends on preceding physical activity and (2) whether plasma adrenaline (A), noradrenaline (NA) and cardiovascular changes following a glucose load are modified by bed rest. Eleven sedentary students (22.5+/-0.3 yrs), 8 long distance runners (18.6+/-0.3 yrs) and 10 strength trained athletes (21.2+/-2.1 yrs) were examined before and after bed rest. Plasma IRI, BG, NA, A, heart rate (HR), and blood pressure (BP) were measured during 2 hrs following glucose (75 g) ingestion. The responses of BG and IRI to glucose load were calculated as incremental areas under the curves (auc). Both in athletes and untrained subjects bed rest markedly increased IRIauc, while BGauc was elevated only in sedentary subjects (p<0.05). The greatest increases in IRIauc and IRI/BG ratios were found in the endurance athletes. The data from all subjects (n = 29) revealed that the initial plasma NA and glucose-induced increases in NA and A were lowered after bed rest (p < 0.01). These effects were most pronounced in the endurance athletes. Bed rest did not influence HR or BP in any group. It is concluded that (1) the athletes have more adequate compensation for the bed-rest-induced decrement in insulin sensitivity than sedentary men; (2) three-day bed rest diminishes basal sympathetic activity and attenuates sympathoadrenal response to oral glucose; (3) endurance athletes have greater sympathetic inhibition than strength athletes or sedentary men.  相似文献

The activity of hexokinase and lipase has been determined in skeletal muscles of different metabolic types and adipose tissue of untrained albino rats during two variations of predominant aerobic physical exercise: long-term swimming and long-term swimming including short-term loads (20 s) of maximal intensity (acceleration). Muscle and liver glycogen depletion, serum lactate, glucose and free fatty acids concentrations are also investigated. It is shown that long-term swimming (first variation) has promoted a decrease of both enzymatic activities in muscle fibres and an increase in lipolytic activity of the adipose tissue. During the physical exercise with the acceleration an increase in hexokinase activity occurs in response to 20 min swimming, with its maximal decrease in response to 40 min of exercise. Activity of lipase in slow-twitch oxidative fibres of soleus and in the adipose tissue increases from 20 min to the end of the exercise. Depletion of glycogen in the muscles and liver is determined in fast-twitch oxidative-glycolytic fibres and in the liver in two types of exercises, being more significant in muscles after exercise with accelerations. Concentrations of serum lactate, glucose and free fatty acids remain unchanged after both variations of swimming. So, it may be concluded that acute adaptation to the predominant aerobic physical exercise with activity under short-term loads of maximal intensity has induced a rise of the capacity of oxidative muscles to utilise endogenous and exogenous carbohydrate and lipid reserves.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to assess the discriminatory power of the new reference system, power-duration product (PDP), for the analysis of haemodynamic and metabolic variables derived from cardiopulmonary exercise tests. The PDP was calculated as the cumulative index of the product of power (W) times the duration (minutes) of each individual exercise step. The study comprised 30 healthy male volunteers, who were classified into three groups with respect to their regular physical activity: 10 untrained medical students (students), 10 sprinters and long-jumpers (athletes) and 10 endurance athletes performing triathlon (triathletes). Twenty metabolic and haemodynamic variables were recorded throughout exhaustion-limited cycling ergometry. The data were analysed with respect to five reference systems (heart rate, relative and absolute oxygen consumption/body surface area, power, and PDP). A total of 14 differences between modified time courses of haemodynamic and metabolic variables in the three groups of volunteers were observed by reference to PDP, 12 by reference to relative oxygen consumption/body surface area, 11 by reference to heart rate, 8 by reference to absolute oxygen consumption/body surface area, and 7 by reference to power. When using PDP as the reference, the time courses of 8 parameters differed significantly between students and triathletes, 5 between students and athletes, and 1 between athletes and triathletes. In addition to its discriminatory superiority for the comparison of different groups characterized by different cardiopulmonary training and endurance, it was found that PDP permitted a better characterization of the individually performed exercise than the consideration of power per se.  相似文献

Most studies about human responses to mechanical vibrations involve whole-body vibration and vibration applied perpendicularly to the tendon or muscle. The aim of the present study was to verify the effects of mechanical vibration applied in the opposite direction of muscle shortening on maximal isometric strength of the flexor muscles of the elbow due to neural factors. Conventional isometric training with maximal isometric contractions (MVCs) and isometric training with vibrations were compared. Nineteen untrained males, ages 24 +/- 3.28 years, were divided into 2 training groups. Group 1 performed conventional isometric training and group 2 isometric training with mechanical vibrations (frequency of 8 Hz and amplitude of 6 mm). Both groups executed 12 MVCs with a duration of 6 seconds and 2-minute intervals between the repetitions. The subjects trained 3 times per week for 4 weeks. The strength of the group subjected to vibrations increased significantly by 26 +/- 11% (p < 0.05), whereas the strength of the group with conventional isometric training increased only 10 +/- 5% (p < 0.05). These data suggest that training with vibrations applied in the opposite direction of muscle shortening enhances the mechanism of involuntary control of muscle activity and may improve strength in untrained males. Since these findings were in untrained males, further studies with athletes are necessary in order to generalize the results to athletes' training, although it seems that it would be possible.  相似文献

目的:探讨无创检测和评估心功能的新指标和新方法。方法:随机抽取81名体育系学生(买验组,n=81)和41名普通系学生(对照组,n=41),完成规定运动量的台阶运动后,通过采集心音信号,进行了心率,D/S比值以及S1/S2比值的对照研究。结果:在静息状态下,体育系学生的心率为66.2±8.7,D/S比值为2.04±0.33;晋通系学生的心率为70.8±8.0,D/S比值为1.82±0.27;在全运动量下,体育系学生的S1/S2比值为7.34±4.04;普通系学生的S1/S2比值为5.22±2.38。,结论:体育系学生比普通系学生具有较高水平的心脏储备:该方法可用来评估运动员与一般人的心脏储备,为运动员选拔以及一般人体质评估提供一种客观量化的新指标。  相似文献

The formation and adaptation of gastric secretion was studied in the sports ontogeny of various wrestlers and of athletes retired from sport. Gastric secretion proved to depend strongly on the level of the wrestlers’ motor activity, which determined changes in the reactivity of the digestive apparatus and intensity of proteolysis (hypo- and hyperfunctions). Changes in the secretory gastric activity of wrestlers depended on their age and the duration and intensity of their physical exercises and were correlated with the body weight of the athletes.  相似文献

In a cross-sectional study, central and peripheral arteries were investigated noninvasively in high-performance athletes and in untrained subjects. The diastolic inner vessel diameter (D) of the thoracic and abdominal aorta, the subclavian artery (Sub), and common femoral artery (Fem) were determined by duplex sonography in 18 able-bodied professional tennis players, 34 able-bodied elite road cyclist athletes, 26 athletes with paraplegia, 17 below-knee amputated athletes, and 30 able-bodied, untrained subjects. The vessel cross-sectional areas (CSA) were set in relation to body surface area (BSA), and the cross-section index (CS-index = CSA/BSA) was calculated. Volumetric blood flow was determined in Sub and Fem via a pulsed-wave Doppler system and was set in relation to heart rate to calculate the stroke flow. A significantly increased D of Sub was found in the racket arm of able-bodied tennis players compared with the opposite arm (19%). Fem of able-bodied road cyclist athletes and of the intact limb in below-knee amputated athletes showed similar increases. D of Fem was lower in athletes with paraplegia (37%) and in below-knee amputated athletes proximal to the lesion (21%) compared with able-bodied, untrained subjects; CS-indexes were reduced 57 and 31%, respectively. Athletes with paraplegia demonstrated a larger D (19%) and a larger CS-index in Sub (54%) than able-bodied, untrained subjects. No significant differences in D and CS-indexes of the thoracic and abdominal aorta were found between any of the groups. The changes measured in Sub and Fem were associated with corresponding alterations in blood flow and stroke flow in all groups. The study suggests that the size and blood flow volume of the proximal limb arteries are adjusted to the metabolic needs of the corresponding extremity musculature and underscore the impact of exercise training or disuse on the structure and the function of the arterial system.  相似文献

Twenty-four male volunteers (mean +/- SD: age 25.4+/-5.8 years, height 178.6+/-5.5 cm, body mass 72.1+/-7.7 kg) of different training background were investigated and classified into three groups according to their physical activity and sport discipline: untrained students (group A), national and sub-national level endurance athletes (group B, 7.8+/-2.9 years of specialised training) and sprint-power athletes (group C, 12.8+/-8.7 years of specialised training). Muscle biopsies of vastus lateralis were analysed histochemically for mATPase and SDH activities, immunohistochemically for fast and slow myosin, and electrophoretically followed by Western immunoblotting for myosin heavy chain (MyHC) composition. Significant differences (P<0.05) regarding composition of muscle fibre types and myosin heavy chains were found only between groups A (41.7+/-1.6% of MyHCI, 40.8+/-4.0% of MyHCIIA and 17.5+/-4.0% of MyHCIIX) and B (64.3+/-0.8% of MyHCI, 34.0+/-1.4% of MyHCIIA and 1.7+/-1.4% of MyHCIIX) and groups A and C (59.6+/-1.6% of MyHCI, 37.2+/-1.3% of MyHCIIA and 3.2+/-1.3% of MyHCIIX). Unexpectedly, endurance athletes (group B) such as long-distance runners, cyclists and cross country skiers, did not differ from the athletes representing short term, high power output sports (group C) such as ice hockey, karate, ski-jumping, volleyball, soccer and modern dance. Furthermore, the relative amount of the fastest MyHCIIX isoform in vastus lateralis muscle was significantly lower in the athletes from group C than in students (group A). We conclude that the myosin profile in the athletes belonging to group C was unfavourable for their sport disciplines. This could be the reason why those athletes did not reach international level despite of several years of training.  相似文献

The chronic effect of training on intraerythrocyte cationic concentrations and on red cell Na+,K+-ATPase pump activity was studied by comparing well-trained athletes with sedentary subjects at rest. Also the acute effect of a 50-min cross-country run on these erythrocyte measurements was studied in the athletes. At rest the intraerythrocyte potassium concentration was increased (P less than 0.01) in the athletes compared to that of the control subjects. The intraerythrocyte concentrations of sodium and magnesium and red cell Na+,K+-ATPase pump activity were, however, similar in the trained and the untrained subjects. As compared with the resting condition, the intraerythrocyte potassium concentration was decreased (P less than 0.05) after exercise in the athletes, and this was accompanied by a minor increase in the intraerythrocyte sodium concentration. Red cell Na+,K+-ATPase pump activity was slightly increased (P less than 0.05) after exercise.  相似文献

Muscle samples were obtained from the gastrocnemius of 17 female and 23 male track athletes, 10 untrained women, and 11 untrained men. Portions of the specimen were analyzed for total phosphorylase, lactic dehydrogenase (LDH), and succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) activities. Sections of the muscle were stained for myosin adenosine triphosphatase, NADH2 tetrazolium reductase, and alpha-glycerophosphate dehydrogenase. Maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) was measured on a treadmill for 23 of the volunteers (6 female athletes, 11 male athletes, 10 untrained women, and 6 untrained men). These measurements confirm earlier reports which suggest that the athlete's preference for strength, speed, and/or endurance events is in part a matter of genetic endowment. Aside from differences in fiber composition and enzymes among middle-distance runners, the only distinction between the sexes was the larger fiber areas of the male athletes. SDH activity was found to correlate 0.79 with VO2max, while muscle LDH appeared to be a function of muscle fiber composition. While sprint- and endurance-trained athletes are characterized by distinct fiber compositions and enzyme activities, participants in strength events (e.g., shot-put) have relatively low muscle enzyme activities and a variety of fiber compositions.  相似文献

Recent evidence suggests that exercise-induced hypoxemia (EIH) may occur in healthy trained endurance athletes. However, at present, no data exist to describe the regularity of EIH in athletes or non-athletes. Therefore, the purpose of the present investigation was to determine the incidence of EIH during exercise in healthy subjects varying in physical fitness. Subjects (N = 68) performed an incremental cycle ergometer test to volitional fatigue with percent arterial oxyhemoglobin saturation (%SaO2) measured min-by-min. For the purpose of data analysis subjects were divided into three groups according to their level of physical training: 1) untrained (N = 16), 2) moderately trained (N = 27), and 3) elite highly trained endurance athletes (N = 25). EIH was defined as a %SaO2 of less than or equal to 91% during exercise. EIH did not occur in any of the untrained subjects or the moderately trained subjects. However, EIH occurred in 52% of the highly trained endurance athletes tested and was highly reproducible (r = 0.95; P less than 0.05). These findings further confirm the existence of EIH in healthy highly trained endurance athletes and suggests a rather high incidence of EIH in this healthy population. Hence, it is important that the clinician or physiologist performing exercise testing in elite endurance athletes recognize that EIH can and does occur in the elite endurance athlete in the absence of lung disease.  相似文献

It is found that the activity of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in blood of youth athletes (both male and female) at rest is lower than in blood of untrained subjects (control). This decrease in female athletes was nearly twice as pronounced as that in male athletes. Veloergometric load significantly increased the level of LGH; however, this increase was somewhat greater in male athletes. Coupled changes in the activity of LDH and in the development of the muscle component of the soma may serve as an indicator of the training status of athletes and their ability to tolerate speed and power muscular load.  相似文献
