Using light and electron microscopy and morphometry, the morphological changes in the lymph nodes of arterial and venous parts of capillaries were studied on the 11th, 17th and 21st days of pregnancy in rats. Ultrastructural changes in endothelial cells of blood vessels in the uterine lymph nodes during normal pregnancy are of adaptive nature and are possibly responsible for the relief of the blood congestion in the system of the inferior vena cava and for the improvement of the utero-placental circulation.  相似文献

The ultrastructure of blood capillary endotheliocytes of iliac lymph nodes during pregnancy was investigated in rats. It was found that changes in microcirculation during pregnancy are accompanied by the appearance of the adaptive changes at all levels of lymph node structural organization. They are: increased lumen of arterial and venous part of the capillaries, increased intermediate sinus volume, increased fenestration of both parts of capillaries, a sharp increase in the number of micropinocytous vesicles and activation of transendothelial channel formation.  相似文献

Summary An ontogenetic approach was used to obtain information about the relation between structure and function of lymphoid tissues. In particular the development of the capacity to trap immune complexes was studied in relation to the development of the lymphoid compartments. For this purpose isologous horseradish (HRP)-anti-HRP complexes were injected into neonatal rats, and their fate was studied in the spleen and popliteal lymph nodes. Immune-complex trapping occurred as soon as primary follicles could be recognized; without follicles no trapping was observed. Development of pregnancy results in a systemic reaction of the immunogenetic organs: the structure of both the central (thymus) and peripheral lymphoid organs (lymph nodes) undergoes certain changes, beginning from its earliest stages (preimplantation period). Unidirection of the processes in the iliac (that are regional for the uterus) and mesenteric lymph nodes is stated. The reconstruction of the node occurs according to the reaction type at tissue allotransplantation, when hypertrophy of the thymus-dependent zone comes forward. During the period of the greatest manifestations of these alterations, however (the second half of pregnancy) the migration process of lymphocytes from blood into the lymph node is significantly inhibited. This is essentially clear in the iliac lymph nodes. The reconstruction of the thymus is in general similar with phenomena of accidental involution. However, accumulation of thymocytes in the medulla demonstrates blocking of their discharge into the blood stream. The disturbed processes of recirculation of result in incompleteness of the immune response at pregnancy and, perhaps, are included into the protective mechanisms of the offspring reproduction.  相似文献

The entry of radiolabeled blood-borne T and B lymphocytes into resting popliteal lymph nodes and popliteal lymph nodes stimulated with semiallogeneic lymphocytes was investigated in rats. Thoracic duct lymphocytes separated into T- and B-lymphocyte populations on nylon-wool columns were radiolabeled with 51chromium and equal numbers of T or B lymphocytes were injected intravenously. While the ratio of T and B lymphocytes in the blood is approximately 3:1 it was found that the ratio of T to B lymphocytes migrating into lymph nodes was approximately 9 T to 1 B lymphocyte in both resting and antigenically stimulated lymph nodes. Since the ratio of T to B lymphocytes in thoracic duct lymph is similar to that of blood, there is a disparity between the number of T cells entering and leaving lymph nodes. These results suggest that some T lymphocytes may return to the blood directly and/or there is increased T lymphocyte death in lymph nodes.  相似文献

The investigation of the external iliac lymph nodes has been performed in 152 preparations of corpses of mature persons of both sex, who died from causes not connected with any disease of the lymphatic system, lower extremities and pelvic organs. The external iliac lymph nodes and their afferent and efferent lymphatic vessels have been revealed by means of interstitial injection of the lower extremities and pelvic organs, as well as by means of direct injection of Gerota mass into the lymphatic vessels. Form, amount, dimensions and topography of common iliac lymph nodes have been studied. Lymphatic vessels, running from certain parts and organs of the body to various subgroups of the external iliac lymph nodes have been described, as well as efferent lymph vessels of these nodes. The external iliac lymph nodes are constant formations; the largest of them--lymph nodes of the lacuna--are nodes of the I step for the lower extremity lymph vessels. In 54% of cases in persons of both sex positive (right-sided) asymmetry has been revealed. Total amount of the iliac lymph nodes prevails in men, while their size is greater in women. The size of these nodes in persons of both sex is greater to the left than to the right. There are connections (in 3% of cases) between the external iliac lymph nodes and aortal and lumbar nodes of the opposite side.  相似文献

Eleven axillary lymph nodes from patients with different cutaneous disorders (systemic scleroderma, atopic eczema, psoriasis, hairy cell erythroderma, dermatopathic lymphadenitis) were examined by electron microscopy. In systemic scleroderma interdigitating cells (IDC's) showed typical ultrastructural features as well as intimate contacts with neighboring lymphocytes. In atopic eczema IDC's were characterized by widespread invaginations of the cell membrane, and an increase in tubulo-vesicular structures and microfilaments. Similar observations have been made in dermatopathic lymphadenitis. In psoriasis and hairy cell erythroderma. IDC's showed only a few interdigitations and invaginations of the cell surface. It is supposed that these structural changes in IDC's reflect the different immunological conditions of the diverse cutaneous disorders.  相似文献

The common iliac lymph nodes (CILN) have been investigated on 24 preparations from corpses of elderly persons (5 male and 7 female corpses), died from the causes not connected with the lymphatic system diseases, lower extremities and pelvic organs. The CILN with their afferent and deferent lymphatic vessels are revealed by means of interstitial injection into the lower extremities and pelvic organs, as well as by means of direct injection into lymphatic vessels. The form, amount, size and topography of CILN are studied. Lymphatic vessels, running from certain parts of the body and organs to various subgroups of CILN are described, as well as lymphatic vessels, connecting the nodes both within each subgroup and between the subgroups. There is a tendency in prevalence of amount and size of the lateral subgroup of the lymph nodes over the nodes of other subgroups of CILN; tendency in prevalence of amount of the lymph nodes in men, and their size--in women; prevalence of amount of right CILN and their size in the left--in persons of both sex; in 70% of the cases the amount of afferent lymphatic vessels to CILN prevails over that of the deferent lymph nodes.  相似文献

Experiments, performed on CBA mice demonstrate that all the parameters of lymph nodes of various localization possess a diurnal rhythmicity. Certain lympho-endocrine connections participate in realization of the regional peculiarities of the diurnal rhythms via regulation of redistribution of streams of the migrating lymphoid cells, that form the lymph node structures. There are certain differences in endogenous glucocorticoids action, depending on the level of the motor activity, that determines level of the mast cells activation, value of lymph-formation and blood stream intensity in the drained region. Concrete examples of the diurnal spatial-time organization of functional steps are described in inguinal, mesenteric and bifurcational lymph nodes.  相似文献

The injection of chicken and sheep red blood cells (CRBC and SRBC) into rat popliteal lymph nodes either together or sequentially 2, 4, 6, or 8 days apart resulted in an enhanced immune response when the second antigen was injected 2 or 4 days after the injection of the first antigen (antigenic promotion) or a suppressed immune response when the second antigen was injected 6 days after the injection of the first antigen (antigenic competition). The immune response to either antigen was dependent upon the time of administration of the second antigen with respect to the first antigen. Lymphocyte migration into antigenically stimulated lymph nodes was greater when the two antigens were injected sequentially rather than together. Further, the migration of lymphocytes into the lymph node was enhanced when the second antigen was injected during the inductive or suppressive phase of the immune response to the first antigen (CRBC) regardless of whether the same (CRBC) or an antigenically unrelated antigen (SRBC) was used as the second antigen. While antigenic promotion may in part be explained by the increased rate at which lymphocytes migrate into lymph nodes, lymphocyte migration is also enhanced during antigenic competition. This suggests that while suppressor cells/factors may regulate the effector phase of an immune response they do not directly modulate the migration of blood-borne lymphocytes into the lymph node.  相似文献

Summary Electronmicroscopic and cytochemical studies were performed to localize interdigitating reticulum cells (IDC) in the popliteal lymph node of the rat.The morphological features of the IDC of the rat correspond to those described for other species, but also show similarities to normal macrophages in the rat. This is considered to be an argument in favour of the common origin of IDC's and macrophages.Ultrahistochemical studies with horseradish peroxidase (HRP) reveal no phagocytotic capacity of IDC's. After perfusion fixation containing ruthenium red (RR) the surface coat stains heavily: RR is also found deep in the membrane invaginations of the IDC, indicating the presence of polyanionic sialoglyco-proteins. The post-capillary-venules (PVC) are very permeable to both HRP and RR.The phosphotungstic acid-chromic acid stain (PTA-CrA) also reveals glycoproteins in the surface coat; these glycoproteins are susceptible to -neuraminidase, whereas glycoproteins in the Golgi complexes, lysosomes and in the vesicular complexes of IDC are not. The glycoproteins of the latter are susceptible to 0.1 N NaOH. These findings indicate that IDC produce different kinds of glycoprotein, one of which may be secreted and act as a factor for stimulating peripheral T-lymphocytes.Intimate contact between IDC's and PCV's could be observed. It is therefore conceivable that IDC's play an important role in the homing of T-lymphocytes.  相似文献

Our previous studies showed that some antigenic and mitogenic substances, when locally injected into mice, efficiently produced new lymph follicles outside pre-existing follicles in draining lymph nodes, whereas others had virtually no effect. In the present experiments, young adult male mice were injected with several antigens and mitogens in the rear footpad, and the number and development sites of newly produced lymph follicles in the draining popliteal nodes were studied using serial sections of the nodes obtained between 5 and 21 days after injection. In the unstimulated state, each popliteal node contained a limited number of lymph follicles which mostly lay in a portion of the peripheral cortex overlaying the deep cortex (this portion is referred to as the PCOU), whereas a portion of the peripheral cortex extending beyond the deep cortex (referred to as the PCBU) was underdeveloped with only occasional follicles. Mice treated with soluble PHA or fluid tetanus toxoid developed germinal centers in association with existing follicles but failed to produce new follicles. The PCBU of the draining nodes remained underdeveloped, and the number and distribution pattern of lymph follicles within a draining node were comparable to those in the control node. Animals treated with LPS (50 micrograms), Con A, alum-precipitated PHA or alum-precipitated tetanus toxoid produced significantly large numbers of new follicles outside pre-existing follicles in the draining nodes, the new follicles produced in the PCBU being generally more numerous than those in the PCOU. In these draining nodes, the peripheral cortex, comprising a number of follicles, was found to overlie the deep cortex and extend beyond the deep cortex towards the hilar region. In animals given a less effective stimulant, such as ferritin or a smaller dose of LPS (10 micrograms), the draining nodes produced a relatively small number of new follicles, most of which were formed in the PCBU. The present results indicate that in the mouse popliteal node, the PCBU is morphologically underdeveloped under normal conditions, but develops lymph follicles in response to exogenous stimuli more readily than the PCOU, and that substances efficient in inducing follicle formation can be regarded as capable of stimulating the development of the peripheral cortex.  相似文献

Transmission and scanning electron microscopy was used to study the structural organization of the lymph nodes during venous congestion. At the early period (1 h of venous congestion) one could see an increased number of the fenestrated cells in the venous part of the capillary whereas at the later period (after 6 h to 3 days) a rise of the microvesicular transport via endotheliocytes of the arterial part of the capillary and via fenestras of the venous part. Within 7 to 14 days one could see activation of the microvesicular transport via the indicated parts of the capillary. At all the stages of venous congestion the fluid contained by the parenchyma of the lymph node penetrates via fenestras and intercellular fissures to the marginal sinus, while only via fenestra to the cerebral sinuses.  相似文献

The morphological analysis of nerves in axillary lymph nodes of the rat revealed the presence of two types of axon possessing either a more or a less electron-lucent matrix. The more electron-lucent axons enter the node finely myelinated, do not contain synaptic vesicles and quickly divide to form branches approaching the basement membranes of blood vessels, as well as cellular elements. They may be interpreted as sensory axons. The less electron-lucent axons are unmyelinated, and contain three distinct populations of synaptic vesicles. These may all be present in one axonal varicosity, so that the existence of cotransmitters is highly probable.  相似文献
