Potato virus S causes destructive disease on the plants. In this research, 44 weed samples symptomless were collected during 2015 from Fars, Razavi Khorasan and Kerman provinces of Iran. The coat protein (CP) and 11 K genes from eight PVS isolates were amplified, cloned and sequenced. PVS was detected in eight weed samples including: one sample of Solanum nigrum, two samples of Chenopodium botrytis, three samples of Chenopodium album and two samples of Amaranthus hybridus. Phylogenetic analysis showed that seven Iranian isolates fell into group I, II near to European isolates and one Iranian isolate formed a separate group. Comparison of coat protein and 11 k nucleotide indicated that all Iranian isolates belonged to Ordinary strain and there were 79–100% identity among the eight Iranian isolates and the world isolates of PVS. The highest identity was between Iranian and Ukraine isolates. Recombination analysis identified four recombinant isolates among eight new Iranian isolates.  相似文献

Nitrate and nitrite are part of the human diet as nutrients in many vegetables and part of food preservation systems. In the 1950s and 1960s the potential for formation of nitrosamines in food was discovered and it ignited a debate about the safety of ingested nitrite which ultimately focused on cured meats. Nitrate impurities in salt used in the drying of meat in ancient times resulted in improved protection from spoilage during storage. This evolved into their deliberate modern use as curing ingredient responsible for 'fixing' the characteristic color associated with cured meats, creating a unique flavor profile, controlling the oxidation of lipids, and serving as an effective antimicrobial. Several critical reports and comprehensive reviews reporting weak associations and equivocal evidence of nitrite human health safety have fostered concerns and debate among scientists, regulators, press, consumer groups, and consumers. Despite periodic controversy regarding human health concerns from nitrite consumption, a building base of scientific evidence about nitrate, nitrite, heme chemistry, and the overall metabolism of nitrogen oxides in humans has and continues to affirm the general safety of nitrate/nitrite in human health. As nitrite based therapeutics emerge, it is important to consider the past controversies and also understand the beneficial role in the human diet.  相似文献

A new species of Mylabris of the nominate subgenus is described and figured. This species is apparently endemic to the south-eastern Iranian province of Kerman and seems to be phenetically very distinct from all other species of this subgenus, primarily because of the unique elytral pattern. The Colorado potato beetle (CPB, Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say), is a major pest of potatoes in Iran and many other parts of the world. Injury is caused when adults and larvae feed on the foliage and stems of potato plants, resulting in poor yields and/or plant death. Adult beetles can also vector plant diseases. Historically, the CPB been controlled using different insecticides, but it is currently resistant to nearly all classes of insecticides and remains a serious pest in many parts of the world. All of the resistance mechanisms reported in insects have been demonstrated in CPB. L. decemlineata invaded Iran in the early 1980s, probably through the importation of infested potatoes. It has caused significant damage to potato crops in affected areas, and it accordingly remains a major threat to Iranian potato production. Regrettably, no IPM programs have been developed for managing CPB infestations in Iran. Furthermore, there are no organized CPB resistance monitoring programs in Iran, and the recommended insecticides for CPB control, endosulfan and phosalon, have not changed in over 22 years. Anecdotal evidence from local farmers suggests a reduction in the efficacy of control of CPB by commonly used insecticides, probably due to the reduced susceptibility to these insecticides. Given the economic significance of L. decemlineata infestations, the increasing prevalence of resistance in this species, the rate of spread of infestations, and the extent of the area infested, there is an urgent need to develop effective and sustainable integrated pest management programs for CPB in Iran.  相似文献

Potato virus Y (PVY) is the type species in the potyvirus genus of the family potyviridae. This plant pathogenic virus is transmitted through plant sap inoculation by stem and core grafting and by at least 25 aphid species in a non-persistent manner. According to potato specialists in most parts of the world, PVY is currently considered as the most harmful virus in cultivated potatoes. This is also the case for potato production in Iran. In this project we investigated potato leaves that were collected in the Kurdistan province in Iran for the presence of PVY with use of different biochemical/molecular techniques as ELISA, RT-PCR and qPCR. The different PVY strains, including PVY-O, PVY-N, PVYN-TN, PVY-NWi, were determined by using a triplex RT-PCR. In conclusion, the results demonstrated the presence of PVY-NWi strains in the potato leaf samples from Kurdistan (Iran). The data are discussed in relation to prevalence of PVY strains in Iran.  相似文献

Phyllody disease is a threat to sesame production in Kerman province, southeastern Iran. RFLP analysis of PCR products of phytoplasma-specific 16S rRNA gene (1.8 kb) and phylogenetic analyses of 16S-23S rDNA spacer region (SR) sequence indicated that the predominant agent associated with sesame phyllody in Kerman province is a phytoplasma with 100% similarity with eggplant big bud, and peanut witches’-broom phytoplasmas, members of “Candidatus Phytoplasma aurantifolia” from Iran and China, respectively. Among the samples tested, only one strain (SPhSr1), had a unique RFLP profile and its SR was 100% similar in nucleotide sequence with the phytoplasma carried by Orosius albicinctus and Helianthus annus witches’-broom phytoplasma from Iran, members of “Ca. Phytoplasma trifolii”. Virtual RFLP patterns of SPhJ2 (representative of the predominant PCR-RFLP profiles) SR sequence were identical to those of peanut witches’-broom phytoplasma (16SrII-A, JX871467). However, SPhSr1 SR sequence patterns resemble (99.7%) those of vinca virescence phytoplasma (16SrVI-A, AY500817).  相似文献

In Prince Edward Island, Canada, widespread intensive potato production has contributed to elevated nitrate concentrations in groundwater and streams, and eutrophic or anoxic conditions occur regularly in several estuarine systems. In this research, the stable isotopes of nitrogen and oxygen in nitrate in intertidal groundwater discharge and stream water were used, in conjunction with water quality and quantity data and land use information, to better understand the characteristics of nitrate delivered to two small estuaries with contrasting land use in their contributory catchments. Most of the water samples collected during the two-year study had isotopic signatures that fell in the range expected for nitrate derived from ammonium-based fertilizers (26.5 % of the samples) or in the overlapping range formed between ammonium-based fertilizers and nitrate derived from soil (64 % of the samples). Overall, isotopic signatures spanned over relatively narrow ranges, and correlations with other water quality parameters, or catchment characteristics, were weak. Nitrate in groundwater discharge and surface water in the Trout River catchment exhibited significantly different isotopic signatures only for the nitrogen isotope, while in the McIntyre Creek catchment groundwater discharge and surface water had similar isotopic signatures. When the isotopic results for the waters from the two catchments were compared, the surface waters were found to be similar, while the isotopic signatures of nitrate in groundwater were distinct only for the nitrogen isotope. Denitrification in the two study catchments was not evident based on the isotopic results for nitrate; however, in the case of the Trout River catchment, where a small freshwater pond exists, an average nitrate load reduction of 14 % was inferred based on a comparison of nitrate loads entering and leaving the pond. Overall, it appears that natural attenuation processes, occurring either in the streams or groundwater flow systems, do not significantly reduce nitrate loading to these estuaries.  相似文献

Cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV) with a high incidence and widespread distribution on Brassica crops in Iran reduces the yield and quality of these crops. The complete sequences of three open reading frames (ORFs) 2, 4 and 6 coding for aphid transmission (AT), coat protein (CP) and inclusion body protein/translation transactivator (TAV) genes, respectively, were determined for two Iranian CaMV isolates from Kerman (south Iran). They induced latent or mild mottle (L/MMo) infection in Brassica oleracea var. capitata so are considered as the (L/MMo) biotype. Clear recombination breakpoints were detected between ORF2 and ORF6 in two Kerman isolates using concatenate fragments. Phylogenetic analysis revealed three Iranian CaMV subpopulations in which the two Kerman isolates in the new subgroup C were added to the two previously reported Iranian subpopulations A (central and west Iran) and B (north‐east Iran). Also three regions of pairwise identity were detected which representing: 97.1–100, 93.8–97.1 and 90.6–93.8% for subgroups A, C and B, respectively. Our analysis showed the high variability of Iranian CaMV population and provided valuable new information for understanding the diversity and evolution of caulimoviruses. Furthermore, star phylogeny was found in the subgroup C with overall lack of nt diversity and high haplotype diversity as evidence of a recent population expansion after a genetic bottleneck although this may have been modified subsequently by clinal genetic drift. The appearance of new genetic types demonstrates a high potential of risks and should be considered in the planning of efficient control programmes.  相似文献

The oil rose, Rosa damascena Mill. (Rosaceae) is an agricultural crop cultivated in various countries of the northern hemisphere, such as Turkey, Bulgaria, Morocco, Iran, Egypt, France, China and India. Iran, presently, is the largest producer of rose water in world. The major production areas in Iran are Kashan, Fars, Kerman and Azerbaijan. Kerman province with 2297 hectares ha of rose gardens and 6198 tons of flower production is one of the important rose production regions. The productions of this region are organic and do not use anychemical compounds such as pesticides and fertilisers. The major fungal pathogens were studied during 2008–2010 in oil rose production areas in Kerman province, Iran. Verticillium dahlias, Rosellinia necatrix, Alternaria alternata, Seimatosporium fusisporum and Podosphaera pannosa have been detected in the oil rose from different regions in Kerman province. A. alternata has the most isolates and infected plants per cent in the oil rose. This is the first report fromVerticillium dahliae, R. necatrix, A. alternata, S. fusisporum on oil roses (R.damascena) in the world.  相似文献

Pistachio twig borer is a major pest of pistachio orchards in Iran. In order to reduce the pest damage, a conventional pesticide application is used annually. However, it is not known how much damage is caused by this pest. To determine the potential damage of Kermania pistaciella, and to qualify how efficient chemical control is in reduction of the pest damage, an experiment was conducted at two pistachio orchards in Kerman province (Kerman and Sirjan). A randomised complete block design, with two treatments – chemical control (a mixture of endosulfan EC 35 and volk, 2.5:5 l/ha) and check with five replications were performed. To estimate the pest damage, 25 randomly selected trees were chosen then the total fruit bunches of each tree were checked for infestation to the pest. The infestation percentage in Kerman was greater than that for Sirjan region (10.3% vs. 5.9%). When treatments were compared, the infestation rate of check plots were significantly more in comparison of treated plots in Kerman (10.3% vs. 3.6%); however, there was no significant difference between treatments in Sirjan (5.9% vs. 3.1%). The efficiency of chemical control was 60.7% and 48.7% in Kerman and Sirjan, respectively. There was not definite correlation between the number of capture and the infestation rate (r = 0.442). Cost–benefit ratio calculation was less than 1 (Kerman (?0.89) and Sirjan (?0.94)) and it means that chemical control at this damage percentage is not economic.  相似文献

Food, drinking water, soil, and air are the main routes of exposure to trace metals, thus the assessment of the risks posed to humans by these elements is important. Wheat, potatoes, and maize are very important parts of the Iranian diet. The objectives of this study were to estimate the non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic health risks of Hg, Pb, Cd, Cr, Se, As, and Ni to adults and children via soil, water, and major food crops consumed in Hamedan Province, northwest Iran, using the total non-cancer hazard quotient (THQ) and cancer risk assessment estimates. Total non-cancer hazard of Ni and Hg, were greater than 1, and total cancer risk of As and Pb was greater than 1 × 10?6. Food consumption was identified as the major route of human exposure to metals, and consuming foodstuff threatens the health of the studied population. In Hamedan Province, consumption of wheat is the main source of intake of metals from foodstuff for adults, and in children, the soil ingestion route is also important.  相似文献

The lack of understanding of nitrate dynamics in soil profiles of semiarid regions hampers the assessment of the environmental risks associated with nitrate. A long-term field experiment established in the Loess Plateau of Northwest China in 1984 was used to investigate the seasonal dynamics of water and nitrate contents in the soil profile (0–300 cm) under bare fallow and continuous winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) with various fertilizer treatments. For treatments without mineral N input (i.e., no fertilizer, farmyard manure alone, and with P fertilizer), the amount of nitrate accumulated in the soil profile (52–120 kg N ha?1, the average for June, August, February and April) was significantly lower than that (292 kg N ha?1) accumulated in the bare fallow treatment. A large amount of nitrate (1,065 kg N ha?1) was found accumulated in the soil profile with the treatment applied with mineral N at a rate of 120 kg N ha?1 year?1 for 17 years (1984–2001) and this nitrate moved downward during the wet season (from August to February). Clearly, the amount of nitrate accumulated in the soil profiles, and its tendency of downward movement, appears to potentially be an environmental risk as it may reach groundwater. Fertilization as mineral N fertilizers coupled with FYM or P resulted in 50–70% less nitrate accumulation in the soil profiles than that using mineral N fertilizer alone, and therefore the environmental risk was reduced. It is proposed that a “break point” of nitrate distribution existed in the soil profiles, providing an indication of soil depth to which nitrate can transfer.  相似文献

Three species of Plectus Bastian, 1865 viz., P. aquatilis and P. pusillus from Kerman province and P. velox from Alborz province, Iran are described and illustrated. Partial sequences of 18S region of ribosomal DNA gene were amplified for P. aquatilis and P. pusillus. The Blast results of population of P. aquatilis from Iran showed 8–10 nucleotides differences with populations of the same species (AF036602; GQ892827; AY284700) reported from the UK, Belgium and The Netherlands, respectively. Whereas Iranian population of P. pusillus showed 14–16 nucleotides differences with P. cf. pusillus (AY284705; AY284704) reported from The Netherlands. Molecular analysis revealed close relationship of the Iranian plectids with P. cf. parvus (AY284699) reported from The Netherlands. Phylogenetic relationships with other related species in the genus Plectus and closely related genera that are available in the GenBank are given.  相似文献

The incidence of curly top disease on cultivated plants and weeds was investigated in Kerman Province (southeastern Iran) from October 2003 to November 2004. A total of 1186 samples were collected in fields of sugar beet and other crops as well as within commercial plastic houses. Curtovirus infection of four field crops, three vegetables and 11 weeds was verified by indirect enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) using a polyclonal antibody. An undescribed curtovirus, tentatively designated Iranian beet curly top virus (IBCTV), was isolated from three symptomatic beet samples collected randomly in widely separated regions of south‐eastern, southern and central Iran and used for molecular studies. A 672 bp segment of the coat protein (CP) gene of each isolate was amplified by PCR and sequenced. The results showed that the three isolates shared 98.5–98.7% nucleotide homology with each other but only 72.1–76.5% with other members of the genus Curtovirus. IBCTV was also detected by PCR using specific primers in other samples of sugar beet, tomato, spinach, turnip and several weed species collected in different parts of Iran. These results indicated that IBCTV is the dominant curtovirus in Iran.  相似文献

Anthropogenic nitrogen pollution is a critical problem in freshwaters. Although riverbeds are known to attenuate nitrate, it is not known if large woody debris (LWD) can increase this ecosystem service through enhanced hyporheic exchange and streambed residence time. Over a year, we monitored the surface water and pore water chemistry at 200 points along a ~ 50 m reach of a lowland sandy stream with three natural LWD structures. We directly injected 15N-nitrate at 108 locations within the top 1.5 m of the streambed to quantify in situ denitrification, anammox and dissimilatory nitrate reduction to ammonia, which, on average, contributed 85, 10 and 5% of total nitrate reduction, respectively. Total nitrate reducing activity ranged from 0 to 16 µM h?1 and was highest in the top 30 cm of the stream bed. Depth, ambient nitrate and water residence time explained 44% of the observed variation in nitrate reduction; fastest rates were associated with slow flow and shallow depths. In autumn, when the river was in spate, nitrate reduction (in situ and laboratory measures) was enhanced around the LWD compared with non-woody areas, but this was not seen in the spring and summer. Overall, there was no significant effect of LWD on nitrate reduction rates in surrounding streambed sediments, but higher pore water nitrate concentrations and shorter residence times, close to LWD, indicated enhanced delivery of surface water into the streambed under high flow. When hyporheic exchange is too strong, overall nitrate reduction is inhibited due to short flow-paths and associated high oxygen concentrations.  相似文献

We investigated the physiological consequences for nitrogen metabolism and growth of the deregulated expression of an N-terminal-deleted tobacco nitrate reductase in two lines of potato (Solanum tuberosum L. cv Safrane). The transgenic plants showed a higher biomass accumulation, especially in tubers, but a constant nitrogen content per plant. This implies that the transformed lines had a reduced nitrogen concentration per unit of dry weight. A severe reduction in nitrate concentrations was also observed in all organs, but was more apparent in tubers where nitrate was almost undetectable in the transgenic lines. In leaves and roots, but not tubers, this nitrate decrease was accompanied by a statistically significant increase in the level of malate, which acts as a counter-anion for nitrate reduction. Apart from glutamine in tubers, no major changes in amino acid concentration were seen in leaves, roots or tubers. We conclude that enhancement of nitrate reduction rate leads to higher biomass production, probably by allowing a better allocation of N-resources to photosynthesis and C-metabolism.Abbreviations DAP Days after planting - Gln Glutamine - NR Nitrate reductase - WT Wild type  相似文献

Sunflower is one of the most important oilseed crops, which is grown in many countries. Increasing demand to use sunflower oil has expanded the under cultivation area throughout the world. Sunflower viruses have been reported as one of the pathogens that reduce the quantity and the quality of this product in a number of countries. In our research to study the occurrence and distribution of viruses in sunflower fields of Iran, 562 samples were collected from different fields in Kerman and Isfahan provinces during growing seasons from 2009 to 2011. Potato virus Y (PVY), Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) and Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) were detected by double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Also, numbers of samples were positive for infection to potyviruses (except PVY) in antigen-coated-plate enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay test using potyviruses general antiserum. Infected plants had symptoms like mosaic, yellowing, deformation, necrotic and chlorotic lesions and mottling on leaves and stunting. The infection rates of potyviruses, PVY, CMV and TSWV in Isfahan province were 33, 22, 4.18 and 3.25% of collected samples, respectively. The corresponding rates for samples from Kerman province were 15, 5, 0.8 and 0.4% of collected samples. According to these results, viral infection in Isfahan province was more than surveyed in Kerman province during the mentioned period of three years. Furthermore, generally there was a decrease in the percentage of viral infection during this three growing seasons in both provinces. This is the first report of the detection of CMV and TSWV in sunflower fields of Isfahan and Kerman and first report of PVY in Isfahan.  相似文献

过量施用氮肥造成的环境问题日益严重,氮肥合理使用已成为人们研究的热点.本文研究了西南玉米两种主要套作模式下氮肥运筹对玉米氮素利用和土壤硝态氮残留的影响.结果表明:连续分带轮作种植玉/豆模式后,玉米收获期植株中的氮素积累较玉/薯模式平均提高了6.1%,氮收获指数增加了5.4%,最终使氮肥利用效率提高4.3%,氮素同化量提高了15.1%,氮肥偏生产力提高了22.6%;玉米收获后硝态氮淋溶损失减少,60~120 cm土层中硝态氮残留玉/豆模式较玉/薯模式降低了10.3%,而0~60 cm土层中平均提高了12.9%,有利于培肥地力,两年产量平均较玉/薯模式高1249 kg·hm-2,增产22%;增加施氮量提高了植株氮素积累,降低了氮肥利用率,显著提高了表层土壤中硝态氮的累积,60~100 cm土层中硝态氮的累积量在0~270 kg·hm-2处理间差异不显著,继续增加施氮量会显著增加土壤硝态氮的淋溶;氮肥后移显著提高了土壤0~60 cm土层硝态氮的积累.两种模式下施氮量和底追比对玉米氮素吸收和硝态氮残留的影响结果不一致,玉/豆模式以施氮180~270 kg·hm-2、按底肥∶拔节肥∶穗肥=3∶2∶5的施肥方式有利于提高玉米植株后期氮素积累、氮收获指数和氮肥利用效率,减少了氮肥损失,两年最高产量平均可达7757 kg·hm-2;而玉/薯模式在180 kg·hm-2、按底肥∶穗肥=5∶5的施肥方式下,氮素积累利用及产量均优于其他处理,两年平均产量为6572 kg·hm-2,可实现两种模式下玉米高产、高效、安全的氮肥管理体系.
