Decreased bone mineral density (BMD) in astronauts returning from long-duration spaceflight missions has been well documented, but the altered mechanical loading environment experienced by the musculoskeletal system, which may contribute to these changes, has not been well characterized. The current study describes the loading environment of the lower extremity (LE) during typical days on the International Space Station (ISS) compared to similar data for the same individuals living on Earth. Data from in-shoe force measurements are also used as input to the enhanced daily load stimulus (EDLS) model to determine the mechanical “dose” experienced by the musculoskeletal system and to associate this dose with changes in BMD.Four male astronauts on approximately 6-month missions to the ISS participated in this study. In-shoe forces were recorded using capacitance-based insoles during entire typical working days both on Earth and on-orbit. BMD estimates from the hip and spine regions were obtained from dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) pre- and post-flight.Measurable loading was recorded for only 30% of the time assigned for exercise. In-shoe forces during treadmill walking and running on the ISS were reduced by 25% and 46%, respectively, compared to similar activities on Earth. Mean on-orbit LE loads varied from 0.20 to 1.3 body weight (BW) during resistance exercise and were ~0.10 BW during bicycle ergometry. Application of the EDLS model showed a mean decrease of 25% in the daily load experienced by the LE. BMD decreased by 0.71% and 0.83% per month during their missions in the femoral neck and lumbar spine, respectively. Our findings support the conclusion that the measured ISS exercise durations and/or loading were insufficient to provide the loading stimulus required to prevent bone loss. Future trials with EDLS values closer to 100% of Earth values will offer a true test of exercise as a countermeasure to on-orbit bone loss.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to identify the influence of vitamin D status (insufficient vs. sufficient) on circulating cytokines and skeletal muscle strength after muscular injury. To induce muscular injury, one randomly selected leg (SSC) performed exercise consisting of repetitive eccentric–concentric contractions. The other leg served as the control. An averaged serum 25(OH)D concentration from two blood samples collected before exercise and on separate occasions was used to establish vitamin D insufficiency (<30 ng/mL, n = 6) and sufficiency (>30 ng/mL, n = 7) in young, adult males. Serum cytokine concentrations, single-leg peak isometric force, and single-leg peak power output were measured before and during the days following the exercise protocol. The serum IL-10 and IL-13 responses to muscular injury were significantly (both p < 0.05) increased in the vitamin D sufficient group. The immediate and persistent (days) peak isometric force (p < 0.05) and peak power output (p < 0.05) deficits in the SSC leg after the exercise protocol were not ameliorated with vitamin D sufficiency. We conclude that vitamin D sufficiency increases the anti-inflammatory cytokine response to muscular injury.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to examine the acute effect of resistance exercise (RE) on muscle androgen receptor (AR) and glucocorticoid receptor (GR) protein content. Fifteen resistance-trained men (n = 8; 21 ± 1 years, 175.3 ± 6.7 cm, 90.8 ± 11.6 kg) and women (n = 7; 24 ± 5 years, 164.6 ± 6.7 cm, 76.4 ± 15.6 kg) completed 6 sets of 10 repetitions of heavy squats. Blood samples were obtained before RE, after 3 and 6 sets of squats, and 5, 15, 30 and 70 min after RE. Muscle biopsies from the vastus lateralis were obtained before RE, and 10 min and 70 min after RE. Blood samples were analyzed for total and free testosterone concentrations and muscle samples were analyzed for AR and GR protein content. Circulating total testosterone increased significantly (p  0.05) in men and free testosterone increased in men and women with exercise. AR was significantly reduced at 70 min post-exercise in men and at 10 min post-exercise in women compared to pre-exercise. There were no changes in GR following RE, but GR was significantly higher in women compared to men. These findings support a current paradigm for stabilization followed by a reduction and then a rebound in the acute AR response to RE but demonstrate that gender differences exist in the timeline of the AR response.  相似文献

The present study investigated the influence of additional loads on the knee net joint moment, flexor and extensor muscle group moments, and cocontraction index during a closed chain exercise. Loads of 8, 28, or 48 kg (i.e., respectively, 11.1 ± 1.5%, 38.8 ± 5.3%, and 66.4 ± 9.0% of body mass) were added to subjects during dynamic half squats. The flexor and extensor muscular moments and the amount of cocontraction were estimated at the knee joint using an EMG-and-optimization model that includes kinematics, ground reaction, and EMG measurements as inputs. In general, our results showed a significant influence of the Load factor on the net knee joint moment, the extensor muscular moment, and the flexor muscle group moment (all Anova p < .05). Hence we confirmed an increase in muscle moments with increasing load and moreover, we also showed an original “more than proportional” evolution of the flexor and extensor muscle group moments relative to the knee net joint moment. An influence of the Phase (i.e., descent vs. ascent) factor was also seen, revealing different activation strategies from the central nervous system depending on the mode of contraction of the agonist muscle group. The results of the present work could find applications in clinical fields, especially for rehabilitation protocols.  相似文献

This study investigated the effect of prolonged walking with load carriage on muscle activity and fatigue in children. Fifteen Chinese male children (age = 6 years, height = 120.0 ± 5.4 cm, mass = 22.9 ± 2.6 kg) performed 20-min walking trials on treadmill (speed = 1.1 m s−1) with different backpack loads (0%, 10%, 15% and 20% body weight). Electromyography (EMG) signals from upper trapezius (UT), lower trapezius (LT) and rectus abdominis (RA) were recorded at several time intervals (0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 min), and were normalized to the signals collected during maximum voluntary contraction. Integrated EMG signal (IEMG) was calculated to evaluate the muscle activity. Power spectral frequency analysis was applied to evaluate muscle fatigue by the shift of median power frequency (MPF). Results showed that a 15% body weight (BW) load significantly increased muscle activity at lower trapezius when the walking time reached 15 min. When a 20% BW load was being carried, increase in muscle activity was found from 5 min, and muscle fatigue was found from 15 min. In upper trapezius, increase of muscle activity was not found within the 20-min period, however, muscle fatigue was found from 10 min. No increased muscle activity or muscle fatigue was found in rectus abdominis. It is suggested that backpack loads for children should be restricted to no more than 15% body weight for walks of up to 20 min duration to avoid muscle fatigue.  相似文献

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of two fatigue protocols on landing performance. A repeated measures design was used to examine the effects of fatigue and fatigue protocol on neuromuscular and biomechanical performance variables. Ten volunteers performed non-fatigued and fatigued landings on two days using different fatigue protocols. Repeated maximum isometric squats were used to induce fatigue on day one. Sub-maximum cycling was used to induce fatigue on day two. Isometric squat maximum voluntary contraction (MVC) was measured before and after fatigued landings on each day. During the landings, ground reaction force (GRF), knee kinematics, and electromyographic (EMG) data were recorded. Isometric MVC, GRF peaks, loading rates, impulse, knee flexion at contact, range of motion, max angular velocity, and EMG root mean square (RMS) values were compared pre- and post-fatiguing exercise and between fatigue protocols using repeated ANOVA. Fatigue decreased MVC strength (p ? 0.05), GRF second peak, and initial impulse (p ? 0.01), but increased quadriceps medium latency stretch reflex EMG activity (p ? 0.012). Knee flexion at contact was 5.2° greater (p ? 0.05) during fatigued landings following the squat exercise compared to cycling. Several variables exhibited non-significant but large effect sizes when comparing the effects of fatigue and fatigue protocol. In conclusion, fatigue alters landing performance and different fatigue protocols result in different performance changes.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to assess the effect of verbal instruction, surface stability, and load intensity on trunk muscle activity levels during the free weight squat exercise. Twelve trained males performed a free weight squat under four conditions: (1) standing on stable ground lifting 50% of their 1-repetition maximum (RM), (2) standing on a BOSU balance trainer lifting 50% of their 1-RM, (3) standing on stable ground lifting 75% of their 1-RM, and (4) receiving verbal instructions to activate the trunk muscles followed by lifting 50% of their 1-RM. Surface EMG activity from muscles rectus abdominis (RA), external oblique (EO), transversus abdominis/internal oblique (TA/IO), and erector spinae (ES) were recorded for each condition and normalized for comparisons. Muscles RA, EO, and TA/IO displayed greater peak activity (39–167%) during squats with instructions compared to the other squat conditions (P = 0.04–0.007). Peak EMG activity of muscle ES was greater for the 75% 1-RM condition than squats with instructions or lifting 50% of 1-RM (P = 0.04–0.02). The results indicate that if the goal is to enhance EMG activity of the abdominal muscles during a multi-joint squat exercise then verbal instructions may be more effective than increasing load intensity or lifting on an unstable surface. However, in light of other research, conscious co-activation of the trunk muscles during the squat exercise may lead to spinal instability and hazardous compression forces in the lumbar spine.  相似文献

ObjectiveTo demonstrate the hypothesis that aerobic exercise training inhibits the development of insulin resistance through IL-6 and probe into the possible molecular mechanism about it.MethodsRats were raised with high-fat diets for 8 weeks to develop insulin resistance, and glucose infusion rates (GIRs) were determined by hyperinsulinemic–euglycemic clamping to confirm the development of insulin resistance. Aerobic exercise training (the speed and duration time in the first week were respectively 16 m/min and 50 min, and speed increased 1 m/min and duration time increased 5 min every week following it) and/or IL-6shRNA plasmid injection (rats received IL-6shRNA injection via the tail vein every two weeks) were adopted during the development of insulin resistance. The serum IL-6, leptin, adiponectin, fasting blood glucose, fasting serum insulin, GIR, IL-6 gene expression levels, p-p38 in various tissues and p-STAT3/t-STAT3 ratio in the liver were measured.ResultsRats fed with high-fat diets for 8 weeks were developed insulin resistance and the IL-6mRNA levels of IL-6shRNA injection groups in various tissues were significantly lower than those of control group (P < 0.05), respectively. The development of insulin resistance in exercise rats significantly decreased, however, compared with that, the GIR of exercise rats injected by IL-6shRNA was lower (P < 0.05). The IL-6mRNA levels were highest in the fat tissue and lowest in the skeletal muscles in all the rats. The serum adiponectin levels decreased (P < 0.05) following the development of insulin resistance, and it increased (P < 0.05) when the rats were intervened by aerobic exercise training for 8 weeks at the same time. However, there were not significant differences when serum leptin concentrations were compared (P > 0.05). The p-p38 significantly increased in the rats fed with high-fat diets, however, p-p38 of the exercise high-fat diets rats in the liver and fat tissues significantly decreased than that (P < 0.05). The changes of p-p38 in exercise rats injected by IL-6shRNA were irregular. The activation of STAT3 in the liver significantly increased (P < 0.05) following the development of insulin resistance, and it decreased (P < 0.05) when the rats were intervened by aerobic exercise training for 8 weeks at the same time, and the gene silencing of IL-6 did not have effects on the activation of STAT3 in the liver (P > 0.05).ConclusionsIn conclusion, aerobic exercise training prevented the development of insulin resistance through IL-6 to a certain degree. The gene expression and secretion of IL-6 could inhibit the development of insulin resistance. The mechanism of the effects were possibly related with elevating the levels of serum adiponectin, and/or inhibiting the activation of STAT3 in the liver and p38MAPK in the skeletal muscles, liver and fat tissues.  相似文献

Recent evidence suggests different regions of the rectus femoris (RF) muscle respond differently to squat exercises. Such differential adaptation may result from neural inputs distributed locally within RF, as previously reported for isometric contractions, walking and in response to fatigue. Here we therefore investigate whether myoelectric activity distributes evenly within RF during squat. Surface electromyograms (EMGs) were sampled proximally and distally from RF with arrays of electrodes, while thirteen healthy volunteers performed 10 consecutive squats with 20% and 40% of their body weight. The root mean square (RMS) value, computed separately for thirds of the concentric and eccentric phases, was considered to assess the proximo-distal changes in EMG amplitude during squat. The channels with variations in EMG amplitude during squat associated with shifts in the muscle innervation zone were excluded from analysis. No significant differences were observed between RF regions when considering squat phases and knee joint angles individually (P > 0.16) while a significant interaction between phase and knee joint angle with detection site was observed (P < 0.005). For the two loads considered, proximal RMS values were greater during the eccentric phase and for the more flexed knee joint position (P < 0.001). Our results suggest inferences on the degree of RF activation during squat must be made cautiously from surface EMGs. Of more practical relevance, there may be a potential for the differential adaption of RF proximal and distal regions to squat exercises.  相似文献

The acute toxicity of standardized extract of Orthosiphon stamineus was studied in Sprague Dawley rats. The rats were administered a single dose of 5000 mg/kg body weight (BW) orally on Day 0 and observed for 14 days. There were no deaths recorded and the animals did not show signs of toxicity during the experimental period. The effect of the extract on general behavior, BW, food and water intake, relative organ weight per 100 g BW, hematology and clinical biochemistry were measured. All the parameters measured were unaffected as compared to the control. The acute toxicity LD50 was estimated to be >5000 mg/kg BW.  相似文献

The purpose of this investigation was to identify if supplemental vitamin E (consisting of α- and γ-tocopherol’s) and C modulate serum cytokine and muscle strength following an ACL injury and surgery. Subjects were randomly assigned to one of two groups: (1) placebo (n = 14) or (2) vitamins E (α-[600 mg RRR-α-tocopherol, αT] and γ-[600 mg of RRR-γT]) and C (1000 mg ascorbic acid, AA) (EC; n = 15). Supplements were taken daily starting ∼2-wk prior to and concluding 16-wk after surgery. Fasting blood samples were obtained and single-leg peak isometric force measurements were performed at baseline (prior to supplementation), before surgery (∼120-min – blood draw only), and 8-wk, 12-wk, and 16-wk after surgery. αT, γT, AA, and cytokines were measured in each blood sample, and peak isometric force was measured on the injured and non-injured legs separately at each testing session. An exercise protocol consisting of repetitive knee and hip extension and flexion contractions to exhaustion was performed on the injured limb at 16-wk. Vitamin E and C supplementation significantly (all p < 0.05) increased plasma αT (∼40%), γT (∼160%), and AA (∼50%) concentrations. Serum cytokine concentrations, peak isometric force, and time to exhaustion during the exercise protocol were not significantly different between groups. Based on these findings, we conclude that vitamin E and C supplementation increases their endogenous levels without minimizing muscular weakness or modulating serum cytokine concentrations after ACL surgery.  相似文献

Low intensity resistance training with slow movement and tonic force generation has been shown to create blood flow restriction within muscles that may affect thermoregulation through the skin. We aimed to investigate the influence of two speeds of exercise execution on skin temperature dynamics using infrared thermography. Thirteen active males performed randomly two sessions of squat exercise (normal speed, 1 s eccentric/1 s concentric phase, 1 s; slow speed, 5 s eccentric/5 s concentric phase, 5 s), using ~50% of 1 maximal repetition. Thermal images of ST above muscles quadriceps were recorded at a rate of 0.05 Hz before the exercise (to determine basal ST) and for 480 s following the initiation of the exercise (to determine the nonsteady-state time course of ST). Results showed that ST changed more slowly during the 5 s exercise (p=0.002), whereas the delta (with respect to basal) excursions were similar for the two exercises (p>0.05). In summary, our data provided a detailed nonsteady-state portrait of ST changes following squat exercises executed at two different speeds. These results lay the basis for further investigations entailing the joint use of infrared thermography and Doppler flowmetry to study the events taking place both at the skin and the muscle level during exercises executed at slow speed.  相似文献

Forty-eight mature US Spanish does (40 kg BW), from a herd selected for cashmere fiber growth, were used to investigate influences of the number of fetuses and levels of ME and CP in supplements during gestation and lactation on doe and kid performance. At 60 days of gestation, does with single or twin fetuses consumed mature Bermudagrass hay ad libitum and 1% BW (DM basis) of supplements with 18.6% or 28.5% CP (LP and HP, respectively) and 2.2 or 2.8 Mcal/kg ME (DM basis; LE and HE, respectively). The HE-HP supplement was offered at 1.5% BW (DM basis) for 15 days after birth, and does received the same supplement treatments as in gestation thereafter until weaning at 50 days after parturition. For a 50-day post-weaning period, kids consumed ad libitum the HE-LP supplement. BW at 90 days of gestation (41.4 vs 38.4 kg; P<0.10), BW before parturition (46.1 vs 41.7 kg; P<0.05), BW loss from parturition to day 21 of lactation (8.38 vs 5.25 kg; P<0.05), litter birth weight (5.47 vs 2.75 kg; P<0.05) and plasma concentrations of β-hydroxybutyrate (0.33 vs 0.29 mM; P<0.05) and NEFA (538 vs 434 mEq/l; P<0.05) were greater for does with twin vs single kids. BW at weaning was similar between single and twin kids (P>0.10; 8.31 and 7.63, respectively). Kid BW and cashmere fiber weight after the post-weaning period were affected by interactions (P<0.05) between number of fetuses and supplement ME level; kid BW was 12.3, 14.7, 14.6 and 13.2 kg (SE = 1.12 and 0.68 kg for singles and twins, respectively), and kid cashmere weight was 86, 109, 106 and 102 g (SE = 8.5 and 5.0 g for singles and twins, respectively) for single-HE, single-LE, twin-HE and twin-LE, respectively. In conclusion, effects of supplements differing in levels of ME and in ingredient composition for US Spanish does in gestation and lactation had dissimilar impacts on post-weaning BW and cashmere weight of single and twin kids. However, because of the limited number of observations and the high variability among animals in measures such as cashmere fibre growth, further experimentation concerning the potential for effects of nutritional plane of does on cashmere growth by kids is warranted.  相似文献

BackgroundLow back pain (LBP) development has been associated with occupational standing. Increased hip and trunk muscle co-activation is considered to be predisposing for LBP development during standing in previously asymptomatic individuals. The purpose of this work was to investigate muscle activation and LBP responses to a prescribed exercise program. Pain-developing (PD) individuals were expected to have decreased LBP and muscle co-activation following exercise intervention.MethodsElectromyography (EMG) data were recorded from trunk and hip muscle groups during 2-h of standing. An increase of >10 mm on visual analog scale (VAS) during standing was threshold for PD categorization. Participants were assigned to progressive exercise program with weekly supervision or control (usual activity) for 4 weeks then re-tested.ResultsForty percent were categorized as PD on day 1, VAS = 24.2 (±4.0) mm. PD exercisers (PDEX) had lower VAS scores (8.93 ± 3.66 mm) than PD control (PDCON) (16.5 ± 6.3 mm) on day 2 (p = 0.007). Male PDEX had decreased gluteus medius co-activation levels (p < 0.05) on day 2.DiscussionThe exercise program proved beneficial in reducing LBP during standing. There were changes in muscle activation patterns previously associated with LBP. Predisposing factors for LBP during standing were shown to change positively with appropriate exercise intervention.  相似文献

Protein is one of the limiting factors in animal production, and the knowledge of protein requirements by livestock is crucial for the success of a commercial animal raising enterprise. Thirty-four castrated lambs, 17 of them F1 Ideal × Ile de France wool lambs and the remaining ones were Santa Inês hair lambs, with homogeneous initial BW, were used in the experiment. Five animals from each genotype were slaughtered in the beginning of the experimental period and used as reference. Diets (D) were composed of concentrate mix (C) and Cynodon sp. c.v. Tifton 85 hay (R), combined in three different ratios: D1 = 60C:40R; D2 = 40C:60R and D3 = 20C:80R. Animals of each group of three lambs, that showed simultaneously an initial BW of 20 ± 0.14 kg at the beginning of the dietary regimen, were slaughtered when one of them reached 35 kg, what always happened to be the one fed with D1. Net requirements for BW gain in wool lamb, fleece-free, ranged from 101 to 110 g of protein/kg BW, and for hair lamb ranged from 110 to 118 g of protein/kg BW. Net protein requirements for wool production ranged from 634 to 642 g/kg of produced wool. Hair lambs presented a 7.8–9.5% higher estimated net protein requirements than wool lambs, according to BW and daily weight gain (DG). Total net protein requirements for Santa Inês and wool lambs, with 30 kg of initial BW and an approximate 200 g mean DG, were 48.5 and 45.4 g/day, respectively. Metabolizable protein requirements for Santa Inês and wool lambs, with 20 kg of initial BW and an approximate 200 g mean DG were 59.4 g and 76.5 g/day, respectively. Net protein requirements for wool production was 64 g/100 g of produced wool. Thus, under the conditions of this experiment, it is concluded that hair lambs showed a higher concentration of protein in the body, more efficient use of the ingested protein and a consequent additional BW gain when fed isoproteic diets as compared to F1 Ideal × Ile de France wool lambs.  相似文献

The objectives of this study was to investigate the acute effects of various magnitudes of tendon strain on the mechanical properties of the human medial gastrocnemius (MG) in vivo during controlled heel-drop exercises. Seven male and seven female volunteers performed two different exercises executed one month apart: one was a heel-drop exercise on a block (HDB), and the other was a heel-drop exercise on level floor (HDL). In each regimen, the subjects completed a session of 150 heel-drop exercises (15 repetitions × 10 sets; with a 30 s rest following each set). Before and immediately after the heel-drop exercise, the ankle plantar flexor torque and elongation of the MG were measured using a combined measurement system of dynamometry and ultrasonography and then the MG tendon strain and stiffness were evaluated in each subject. The tendon stiffness measured prior to the exercises was not significantly different between the two groups 23.7 ± 10.6 N/mm and 24.1 ± 10.0 N/mm for the HDB and HDL, respectively (p > .05). During the heel-drop exercise, it was found that the tendon strain during the heel-drop exercise on a block (8.4 ± 3.7%) was significantly higher than the strain measured on the level floor (5.4 ± 3.8%) (p < .05). In addition, the tendon stiffness following the heel-drop exercise on a block (32.3 ± 12.2 N/mm) was significantly greater than the tendon stiffness measured following the heel-drop exercise on the level floor (25.4 ± 11.4 N/mm) (p < .05). The results of this study suggest that tendon stiffness immediately following a heel-drop exercise depends on the magnitude of tendon strain.  相似文献

Yearling Boer × Spanish goat wethers (40) were used to develop and compare body composition prediction equations for mature meat goats based on urea space (US) and body condition score (BCS). Before the experiment, one-half of the animals were managed to have high BW and BCS (1–5, with 1 being extremely thin and 5 very fat) and the others were managed to have low BW and BCS. During the 24-week experiment, initially fat wethers were fed to lose BW and BCS and initially thin wethers were fed to increase BW and BCS. BCS, US, and whole body chemical composition were determined after 0, 12, and 24 weeks. Mean, minimum, and maximum values were 42.1 (S.E. = 1.12), 24.5, and 59.0 kg for shrunk BW; 3.0 (S.E. = 0.11), 1.5, and 4.0 for BCS; 61.3 (S.E. = 1.01), 53.7, and 76.5% for water; 20.2 (S.E. = 1.11), 4.7, and 29.7% for fat; 15.6 (S.E. = 0.19), 13.3, and 18.1% for protein; and 2.9 (S.E. = 0.062), 2.2, and 3.7% for ash, respectively. For water, fat, and ash concentrations and mass, simplest equations explaining greatest variability (with independent variables of US, BCS, and (or) shrunk BW) based on BCS accounted for more variation than ones based on US, although in some cases differences were not large (i.e., water and ash concentrations and mass). Neither US nor BCS explained variability in protein concentration. Equations to predict protein mass based on shrunk BW and US or BCS were nearly identical in R2 and the root mean square error. A 1 unit change in BCS corresponded to change in full BW of 8.9 kg (full BW (kg) = 17.902 + (8.9087 × BCS); R2 = 0.653), fat concentration of 7.54% (%fat = −5.076 + (7.5361 × BCS); R2 = 0.612), and energy concentration of 3.01 MJ/kg (energy (MJ/kg) = 0.971 + (3.0059 × BCS); R2 = 0.615). In summary, BCS may be used as or more effectively to predict body composition of meat goats than US. The primary determinant of BCS, within the range of BCS observed in this experiment, was body fat content.  相似文献

Cardiopulmonary and skeletal muscle effects of combined aerobic and resistance training vs. aerobic training were studied in men with coronary heart disease. Sixteen men with coronary heart disease underwent a cardiopulmonary exercise testing and a quadriceps skeletal muscle fatigue assessment. Patients were divided into two groups and trained in a combined aerobic and resistance or aerobic training group during 7 weeks. Maximal voluntary contraction and isometric endurance time were measured with electromyographic signals recorded from vastus lateralis (VL), rectus femoris (RF) and vastus medialis (VM) during isometric endurance time. Exercise tolerance increased only in the combined group (p < 0.05). Maximal voluntary contraction and isometric endurance time did not change after training in either group but was performed at 5.8% higher force output for the combined group. After training, median frequency values were higher for the VL and VM (p < 0.001) in the aerobic group and also higher for the VL, RF (p < 0.001) and VM (p < 0.05) in the combined group. Combined aerobic and resistance training was more effective to improve exercise tolerance, decrease skeletal muscle fatigue and correct neuromuscular alterations in men with coronary heart disease.  相似文献

Due to the important interactions of proenkephalin fragments (e.g., proenkephalin [107–140] Peptide F) to enhance activation of immune cells and potentially combat pain associated with exercise-induced muscle tissue damage, we examined the differential plasma responses of Peptide F to different exercise training programs. Participants were tested pre-training (T1), and after 8 weeks (T2) of training. Fifty-nine healthy women were matched and then randomly assigned to one of four groups: heavy resistance strength training (STR, n = 18), high intensity endurance training (END, n = 14), combined strength and endurance training (CMB, n = 17), or control (CON, n = 10). Blood was collected using a cannula inserted into a superficial vein in the antecubital fossa with samples collected at rest and immediately after an acute bout of 6 X 10 RM in a squat resistance exercise before training and after training. Prior to any training, no significant differences were observed for any of the groups before or after acute exercise. With training, significant (P  0.95) elevations were observed with acute exercise in each of the exercise training groups and this effect was significantly greater in the CMB group. These data indicate that in untrained women exercise training will not change resting of plasma Peptide F concentrations unless both forms of exercise are performed but will result in significant increases in the immediate post-exercise responses. Such findings appear to indicate adrenal medullary adaptations opioid production significantly altered with exercise training.  相似文献
