Enzyme activity variation was studied in a Drosophila melanogaster population from two villages (Tiszafüred and Tiszaszolos) in Hungary. Two habitats (distillery and farmyard) were sampled in both villages and 8-9 isofemale lines were established from each sample with a total of 35 lines. The activities of ADH, alphaGPDH, IDH and 6PGDH were determined on starch gel after electrophoresis in 10 F1 females of each of the 35 isofemale lines. Three sublines were established from three selected isofemale lines of all four samples (altogether 36 sublines). Alcohol tolerance of the adult flies was assayed in these sublines. The activity of ADH was similar in the two habitats; so was the sensitivity to ethanol. Accordingly, no differences in adaptation to environmental ethanol were detected between the two habitats. The deviations between the two habitats in average activities and in the total variation of enzyme activities were not consistent in the two villages. These results suggest that founder effects and genetic drift are more pronounced in distilleries than selection. The association among enzyme activities varied greatly both between the two villages and between the two habitats. The two parameters of alcohol tolerance were not significantly different between the two habitats in any of the two villages.  相似文献

在扫描电镜下对台闽苣苔 (T .oldhamii (Hemsl.)Solereder)进行了花部器官形态发生的观察 ,为探索该类群的个体发育、类群间的系统发育关系和进化趋势提供依据。研究发现该属植物萼片、花冠和雄蕊发生式样均为五数花类型 ,它们各自来源于花原基上分化出来的萼片原基、花冠原基和雄蕊原基 ;花冠与雄蕊的两侧对称性与花冠上唇生长稍快和退化雄蕊原基发育迟滞相关 ;萼片原基的发生和发育的顺序是不一致的 :萼片原基发生的式样为近轴中原基—远轴 2原基— 2侧原基 ,发育式样则为近轴中萼片— 2侧萼片—远轴 2萼片 ,花蕾时为镊合状排列。花冠裂片原基的发生和发育式样是一致的 ,即远轴中裂原基 (下唇中裂片 )—远轴 2侧裂原基 (下唇 2侧裂片 )—近轴 2裂原基 (上唇 2裂片 )。花蕾期卷迭式为覆瓦状排列 ,从外向内 :下唇中裂片—下唇 2侧裂片—上唇 2裂片或下唇 2侧裂片—上唇 2裂片—下唇中裂片。雄蕊原基与花冠裂片原基互生 ,前方雄蕊原基在发生上稍迟于后方雄蕊原基 ,后者与退化雄蕊原基几乎同时发生 ,但较小 ,并与近轴心皮 (或柱头上唇 )对生。将该属与玄参科 (Scrophulari aceae)的地黄属 (Rehmannia)、苦苣苔科 (Gesneriaceae)的异叶苣苔属 (Whytockia)和尖舌苣苔属 (Rhynchoglossum)的花部器官比较发现  相似文献

Summary Interphase cells of the centric diatom,Ditylum brightwellii (West) Grunow, were treated with a microtubule-inhibitor (amiprophosmethyl, 6×10–7 M); the cells could proceed to divide, but the spindle apparatus in about 25% of the cells was displaced and their two sibling cells has either two nuclei or none. The cells with two nuclei formed a new valve with two labiate processes, instead of one as in normal cells. Most of the cells lacking a nucleus were unable to form a new valve, and of the 2% that did form new valves, all did so without dividing. The valves with two labiate processes were originally formed in two separate silica deposition vesicles (SDVs) and the two embryonic siliceous valves fused when these two expanding SDVs met. Accordingly, both the pattern of perforations and the shape of the marginal ridges on the new valve vary with the distance between the two initiation sites of the two SDVs. Implications of these observations in the evolution of valves in diatoms are discussed and a hypothesis on multiple origins of the valves is proposed.  相似文献

The study presented herein is a bidimensional approach to the complementarity of two molecular surfaces. From two chosen sections we have established a methodology of generating the optimal matching of two shapes. Our approach consists in describing two molecular surface sections by a shape vector (the angular profile), in finding their matching patterns by comparison of the two profiles, and in optimizing the relative locations of the two sections in two-dimensional space, using rotations and translations defined by geometric characteristics. The set of optimal configurations are successively displayed on a screen. Satisfying results have been obtained for the matching of the complex kallikreine Atrypsin pancreatic bovin 2. This efficient method could be used as a preprocessing for a tridimensional shape complementarity approach between two molecular surfaces.  相似文献

The erythrocyte anion transport protein (band 3) mediates two distinct cellular functions: it provides plasma membrane attachment sites for the erythroid cytoskeletal network, and it also functions as the anion transporter between the erythrocyte cytoplasm and extracellular milieu. We previously showed that two chicken band 3 polypeptides are encoded by two different mRNAs with different translation initiation sites. Here we show that these two band 3 mRNAs are transcribed from two separate promoters within a single gene. In addition, the two pre-mRNAs are differentially spliced, leading to fusion with coding exons used in common in the two mRNAs. The chicken erythrocyte band 3 gene is therefore the first example of a gene that has two promoters within a single locus which function equally efficiently in one cell type at the same developmental stage.  相似文献

Data for Apis mellifera indicate that the P-3 proteins and one esterase enzyme are controlled by two genes, P-3 and Est, with two alleles each. The frequency of the P-3 alleles is different in the two subspecies (adansonii and ligustica), that for P-3(F) in Italian bees being 46.9% and in African 0.5%. The frequency of Est(F) is 2.8% in both populations. The Est locus has two codominant alleles and the locus P-3 has two incompletely dominant alleles; the heterozygote P-3( S)/P-3(F) shows only an intermediate band. 木蹄层孔菌(Fjomes fomentarius)在中国东北和日本存在子实体形态不同、寄主范围明显有别的两个类型:小型和大型。用多位点分析方法研究了两者间的遗传分化状况。从两类41个菌株的4种酶系统中检测出9个基因位点,其中8个位点上的绝大多数酶谱型都不为两者所共有,显示两个类型间的基因交流已极少发生。根据酶谱型频率得出两者间的遗传距离D=0.965,属于典型的种间遗传分化。上述酶基因分化证据结合子实体形态的显著差异,提示两类木蹄层孔菌是各自独立的种。两个类型的群体在遗传多样性参数上无显著差异,可能暗示两者在起源演化上的同步性。酯酶系统有2个位点上的酶谱为不同类型所特有且稳定而清晰,可作为分子标记用于两类木蹄层孔菌的无子实体鉴定。  相似文献

This work presents a specific stock-effort dynamical model. The stocks correspond to two populations of fish moving and growing between two fishery zones. They are harvested by two different fleets. The effort represents the number of fishing boats of the two fleets that operate in the two fishing zones. The bioeconomical model is a set of four ODE's governing the fishing efforts and the stocks in the two fishing areas. Furthermore, the migration of the fish between the two patches is assumed to be faster than the growth of the harvested stock. The displacement of the fleets is also faster than the variation in the number of fishing boats resulting from the investment of the fishing income. So, there are two time scales: a fast one corresponding to the migration between the two patches, and a slow time scale corresponding to growth. We use aggregation methods that allow us to reduce the dimension of the model and to obtain an aggregated model for the total fishing effort and fish stock of the two fishing zones. The mathematical analysis of the model is shown. Under some conditions, we obtain a stable equilibrium, which is a desired situation, as it leads to a sustainable harvesting equilibrium, keeping the stock at exploitable densities.  相似文献

Morphological observations of pet and wild monkeys were made in the area that was inferred to be the borderland betweenMacaca tonkeana andM. ochreata in Sulawesi. Almost all individual monkeys could be classified into one of two species by their external characteristics. The possible borderland was estimated to extend from the La River in the east and to around Karaena River in the west. These two species may make contact in the forest in the western area of the borderland. Some external characteristics exhibited wide individual variations in the two species. Some monkeys originating from the borderland showed external characteristics that were intermediate between those of the two species. The possible intergradation between these two species is discussed in terms of the morphological variations found in the two species.  相似文献

Summary Mating competence in the fungusSchizophyllum commune is controlled by two unlinked factors, each of which consists of two closely linked loci. The recombination frequencies between the loci of each factor were determined for a dikaryon and a group of back-crosses, at two meiotic temperatures. The results establish that the frequencies of recombination in the two regions are under genetic control. Migrant and resident waders were counted on sandflats and saltmarshes at low and high tide during two summers (197576 and 1976–77) and two winters (1975 and 1976) at Langebaan Lagoon. Intertidal sandflats supported higher densities of waders than saltmarshes at low tide in summer (18.7 and 17.2 waders ha' on sandflats compared with 0.4 and 2.9 waders ha' on saltmarshes) and winter (0.9 and 3.1 compared with 0.6 and 1.9 waders ha I for the two years). At high tide, most waders moved onto saltmarshes, attaining densities of 70.4 and 53.6 waders ha' in the two summers, and 5.7 and 15.6 birds ha' in the two winters. Resident waders comprised 0.3 and 0.8% of the wader community in the two summers and 41 and 5% in the two winters. They were also at higher densities in winter than in summer. The composition of wader communities on the different sandflats varied little in summer and Curlew Sandpipers were the most abundant species on all sandflats. Minor variations in species composition included proportionately more Turnstones at the mouth of the lagoon, more Sanderlings and Whimbrels in the mid sections and more Terek Sandpipers, Greenshanks and Curlews in the upper part. Larger percentages of waders were foraging on the sandflats at low tide in both summer (96 and 92% for the two summers) and winter (85 and 94% for the two winters) compared with the saltmarshes (73 and 79% in the two summers and 60 and 81% in the two winters). A larger proportion of small waders were foraging on sandflats at low tide compared with large waders. At high tide on the saltmarshes, the percent of foraging birds was lower in summer (29% for both summers) than in winter (36 and 78% for the two winters), perhaps reflecting seasonal changes in energy requirements.  相似文献

将含单拷贝Anti-Waxy基因的纯合植株分别作为父本或母本进行正反交,获得两组含双拷贝Anti-Waxy基因的杂交后代,分析了未转基因对照、转基因亲本及两组杂交后代糙米直链淀粉含量以揭示不同Anti-Waxy基因拷贝数对降低稻米直链淀粉含量程度的影响.结果显示,2个单拷贝转基因水稻糙米直链淀粉平均含量分别为10.72%和11.13%,比对照分别降低17.98%和14.84%;两组正交和反交杂交后代糙米直链淀粉平均含量分别为8.96%和8.23%,其平均值为8.60%,比2个转基因杂交亲本糙米直链淀粉含量分别降低19.78%和22.73%,比对照降低了34.20%.结果表明,增加转基因水稻基因组中Anti-Waxy基因拷贝数在一定程度上能够进一步降低稻米直链淀粉含量,通过将独立转化获得同品种转基因植株之间杂交可以成为获得高表达转基因植物的途径.  相似文献

The 40 kd lambda Integrase protein is shown to contain two autonomous DNA binding domains with different sequence specificities. Competition experiments in which the binding activity of Int is assayed through nuclease protection demonstrate the functional independence of the two DNA recognition specificities. Proteolytic cleavage of Int and footprinting analysis of the resulting two major peptides allow the physical separation and identification of two DNA binding domains: an amino-terminal peptide that interacts with "arm-type" sites and a carboxy-terminal peptide that binds to "core-type" sequences. In addition, the data suggest that the two domains can bind DNA simultaneously, consistent with a model in which Integrase would link two disparate DNA sequences.  相似文献

The 300-MHz proton NMR spectra of oxidized, reduced and apo-forms of plantacyanin were studied. The data obtained show that one of two histidines is far from copper whereas the other is a ligand of the metal. Ligands of copper are also two methionines and, possibly, tryptophan. Although the surrounding of copper in plastocyanin consists of two sulfur and two nitrogen atoms, only histidine and methionine are invariant ligand amino acids of the metal in these two copper proteins from plants.  相似文献

To examine otolith-governed ocular torsion in hyper- and hypogravity, eight subjects, including two astronauts, underwent parabolic flight while seated upright with head fixed. A mask fitted with two video cameras provided synchronized images of both eyes at a rate of 25/sec during 15 parabolas, the individual parabolas separated by a few minutes of level 1 G flight. Three main findings emerged: 1) After the first parabola, most subjects showed differential torsional offset of the two eyes in the 1 G portions between parabolas, compared to the conjugate baseline position of the eyes prior to the first parabola. 2) Changes in binocular torsion in the 0 G and 1.8 G portions of parabolic flight revealed in most subjects systematic reversal of direction. The reversal was consistent within, but not across subjects. 3) Disconjugacy defined as the moment-to-moment difference in the movements of the two eyes, and evaluated without the contribution of the differential offset, found two subjects with relatively high disconjugacy scores, and the remaining six with low scores. On the basis of prior studies (9, 20), we would predict the first two would be subject to SMS, the remainder not. The two astronauts, who did not have SMS on their space missions, fell into the low scoring group. We propose that the disconjugacies may be due to intrinsic asymmetries in the otolith receptors on the two sides of the head, which appear to be independently linked to the extraocular muscles of the two eyes, a phenomenon masked in normal 1 G states by adaptation. The apparently independent control of the two sides cannot be detected by the simpler and more common monocular studies.  相似文献

We propose a rapid method to determine the primary structure of a protein knowing the sequence of a homologous protein. The method consists in submitting both the reduced and alkylated proteins to an enzymatic or chemical hydrolysis and performing the sequence analysis of the peptide mixtures. The assessment of the unknown sequence and the degree of identity of the two proteins are reached by comparing the two sequence analyses. The sequences of all the possible peptides present in the two mixtures are reconstructed and the differences in the two sequences are determined. If necessary, the differences can be confirmed by performing a mass spectrometric analysis of the two mixtures. We used this procedure on two homologous proteins of known sequence to furnish an application example of the method.  相似文献

Growth strategies of the two varieties of Arrhenatherum elatius were studied. The two varieties studied were: onion couch, which produces bulbous swollen internodes and is an arable weed of local importance, whilst tall oat-grass is more widely distributed. An experiment in which the two varieties were grown at different densities in monoculture and were harvested at intervals, highlighted various aspects of the competitive relation between the two varieties and an annual crop. Significant and consistent differences were found between the two varieties for most of the attributes measured during the two growing seasons. Tall oat-grass allocated a greater proportion of its whole shoot dry weight to producing vigorous aerial tillers, whereas onion couch allocated a greater proportion of its whole shoot dry weight to the development of basal internodes. The regulation of tiller number as a reaction to increasing density in tall oat-grass is achieved by high tiller mortality, whereas in onion couch, this stress is expressed by small tiller mortality. Growth pattern shown by the two varieties of A. elatius reflect the adaptive strategies evolved by them in two different habitats and are due to the genetic factors which determine the presence or absence of their characteristic basal internodes.  相似文献
