Abstract:The generic name Paralethariicola gen. nov. is introduced for a lichenicolous fungus very similar to Lethariicola, but differing by the presence of excipular hairs, asci with a hemiamyloid apical ring and a more flattened apex, curved or slightly helicoid ascospores with±pointed ends, and thicker paraphyses. The single species, Paralethariicola aspiciliae sp. nov., is lichenicolous on Aspicilia, and is known from continental Spain and Sardinia. 相似文献

Aenigmatospora pulchra gen. et sp. nov. found on fallen decaying leaves of Ficus elastica Roxb.: Hornem (Moraceae) in a rainforest in Cuba is described and illustrated. This fungus is characterized by sporophores which are cylindrical, colourless, branched at the apex, and above all, by spores which are mushroom-shaped, colourless, and borne singly and asymmetrically at the apex of the sporogenous cells, to which they often remain attached at maturity. A new genus, Katumotoa, is established for a single species, K. bambusicola, collected from culms of Sasa kurilensis. Morphological differences between Katumotoa and some related genera are noted. Katumotoa is characterized by perithecioid ascomata, thin ascomal wall composed of small pseudoparenchymatous cells, cellular pseudoparaphyses,
fissitunicate asci, and apiosporous fusiform ascospores with bipolar mucilaginous sheath. From these features, it is considered

A new aquatic fungus was isolated from submerged, decaying leaves collected at Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam. The fungus produced hyaline, unique-shaped conidia consisting of a hook-shaped main axis and three arms at the helicoid part of the main axis. Based on its conidial development and morphological characteristics, Hamatispora phuquocensis was newly introduced. Phylogenetic analyses based on LSU nrDNA sequences showed that it clusters with Microthyrium spp. and belongs to Microthyriales. Furthermore, we generated ITS barcode for this hyphomycetous fungus. 相似文献

Reevaluation of the generic limits ofMalvastrum A. Gray requires the transfer of several species. Among these,M. lacteum (Ait.) Garcke andM. subtriflorum (Lag.) Hemsley of Central America and Colombia form a natural alliance differing fromMalvastrum in morphological, cytological, and ecological characteristics and are recognized as a new genus,Kearnemalvastrum. The affinities ofKearnemalvastrum within the tribe Malveae are uncertain. Despite the fact thatK. lacteum andK. subtriflorum occupy similar ecological situations, are fully interfertile, and apparently hybridize to some degree in nature, they do maintain their identity and, therefore, are recognized as species. 相似文献

AbstractAnnual growth rate and spore and capsule production was studied in 50 colonies of the epixylic hepatic, Ptilidium pulcherrimum in northern Sweden. Radial growth rate was independent of colony size but varied from year to year (mean value 5.2 mm year?1, range 3.5–6.3 mm year?1). Size at first sporophyte production was estimated to be 68 cm2 and the age of first reproduction was estimated to be about 9 years. It was estimated that antheridia were formed the third year. No correlation between growth rates and reproduction was observed. Capsule density as well as capsule and spore production increased significantly with increased colony size. Differences between years in spore and capsule production (up to six-fold) were observed. The mean number of spores per capsule was 27 400 but significant differences between colonies (range from 18 000 to 44 000) were observed. 相似文献
