The phytochemical investigation of Grazielia multifida aerial parts yielded eight compounds, including four ent-kaurenic acid diterpenes derivatives, 15-tiglinoyloxy-ent-kaur-16-en-19-oic acid (1), 15-hydroxy-ent-kaur-16-en-19-oic acid (2), 17-hydroxy-ent-kaur-15-en-19-oic acid (3) and 15-isovaleroyloxy-ent-kaur-16-en-19-oic acid (4), one amino acid, tryptophan (5), and three flavonoids, eupafolin (6), guaijaverin (7) and quercitrin (8). The structures of the isolated compounds were established based on analysis of their spectroscopic data and comparison with literature. All the compounds were isolated from this species for the first time. The chemotaxonomic significance of the absence of sesquiterpene lactones in G. multifida has also been summarized. 相似文献

Three diploid taxa – Hieracium transylvanicum (subgenus Hieracium), Hieracium caespitosum subsp. brevipilum and Hieracium pavichii (subgenus Pilosella) – from five natural Bulgarian populations were investigated embryologically. The peculiarities of the male and female gametophytes, embryo- and endospermogenesis were established in each species. The results suggest that the species propagate sexually as expected from their diploid chromosome number. However, some forms of apomixis have also been observed, e.g. somatic apospory and integumental embryony in H. pavichii. The presence of apomixis in a diploid taxon shows that polyploidy is not an obligatory prerequisite for apomixis and the two phenomena are independent. The embryological plasticity detected in H. pavichii and H. transylvanicum suggests they may have higher opportunities for adaptation and successful reproduction. 相似文献

Extraction of the leaves of chicory, Cichoriumintybus , revealed the presence for the first time of the 3-glucuronides of kaempferol, quercetin and isorhamnetin, the 3-glucoside of kaempferol and the 7-glucuronide of luteolin. The same compounds appear to occur throughout the genus. An aglycone survey of the leaves of 240 other members of the Lactuceae failed to reveal any other source of isorhamnetin, although quercetin and kaempferol were found as occasional constituents in 12 other genera. In Lactuca , a survey of 12 species showed eight with quercetin present. In general, though, flavonols are more uncommon than flavones and thus have more potential as taxonomic markers within the tribe. The coumarins cichoriin and aesculin and the caffeoyl-tartaric acid ester, chicoric acid, were also found to be present widely in the tribe. 相似文献

Camarea is a South-American endemic genus comprising eight species. In the present work leaf flavonoids of seven species of Camarea were identified, aiming to evaluate the usefulness of their distribution as a taxonomic aid. A total of 12 flavonoids were isolated and identified. Free aglycones, such as apigenin, chrysoeriol, kaempferol and quercetin, as well as 7-O-glycosides of apigenin and luteolin, 3-O-glycosides of kaempferol and quercetin were identified. Flavonoid distribution in Camarea species, taking into account aglycones and aglycone moieties of glycosides, was used to obtain a phenogram of chemical affinities. Apigenin, chrysoeriol and kaempferol were the main discriminating characters for links establishment. The resultant tree suggests the links: 1) Camarea hirsuta, Camarea affinis and C. affinis × C. hirsuta; 2) Camarea elongata and Camarea axillaris; 3) Camarea sericea and Camarea humifusa. The results are in agreement with morphological similarities and disagree with several points of n-alkane evidence. The results support the recognition of Camarea triphylla as synonymy of C. axillaris. 相似文献

The trees and shrubs in Olearia sect. Divaricaster, sect. nov., are found in North, South, and Stewart Islands of New Zealand. They are distinguished by their small, opposite leaves borne on brachyblasts (short shoots), long shoots which abort apically, solitary or fascicled capitula, flowers with purple style arms, and a very distinctive insect fauna. The ten species and three subspecies, including the new O. fimbriata, O. gardneri and O. virgata subsp. centralis are revised and a key and distribution maps provided. The section includes four threatened species: O. hectorii, O. polita and the two new species. Species density is mapped in grid cells 1° latitude by 1° longitude. Areas west of the geological Median Tectonic Zone (Nelson, Westland and Fiordland) show relatively low diversity. The highest diversity, six species in one grid cell, is recorded in north-west Otago, around Mt Aspiring and the Humboldt Mountains. This region is also geologically significant as several allochthonous terranes are juxtaposed there. In the central South Island O. laxiflora, O. fimbriata and O. odorata have concentric distributions around what were Tertiary basins and inland seas. Members of the section favour fertile, lowland sites on alluvium and have suffered reduction in population size over the last century due to agricultural development. Several species, such as O. hectorii, the 'swamp gum', occur in sites which are periodically flooded. Olearia solandri is a coastal species, often growing as a mangrove associate, but occasionally found inland. The anomalous inland populations are discussed and their location attributed to geological uplift. 相似文献

Hieracium alpinum L. (Asteraceae) is an arctic-alpine species distributed throughout Europe with both diploid and triploid cytotypes. We determined
the ploidy levels of plants from 23 populations from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Finland, Italy, Norway, Romania, Slovakia,
Switzerland and Ukraine. Data showed a non-overlapping pattern of cytotype distribution: sexually reproducing diploids (2n = 2x = 18) occur solely in the Eastern and Southern Carpathians, while apomictic triploids (2n = 3x = 27) cover the rest of the range. Such clear-cut allopatry is rather rare in vascular plants with geographical parthenogenesis.
Comparison of absolute genome size indicates genome downsizing (by on average 3.7%) of haploid DNA amount in triploids relative
to diploids. Genome size further correlated with longitude and latitude in the Alps, with decreasing absolute DNA content
from west to east, and from south to north. While previously published data indicated complete male sterility of triploid
plants, we found that plants from the Alps and Bosnia and Herzegovina commonly produced some pollen, whereas populations from
the Western Carpathians and Scandinavia seemed to be almost completely pollen sterile. Scenarios about the evolution of geographical
parthenogenesis in H. alpinum are discussed.

Résumé Hieracium alpinum L. (au sens strict) est une espèce arctique-alpine d’aire de répartition très large, comprenant les régions nordiques (le Groenland, l’Islande, l’Ecosse, la Scandinavie et le nord de la Russie) et les montagnes de l’Europe continentale (les Alpes, les Carpates, les Sudètes, les Vosges et le plateau de Vranica). Dans cette étude, nous avons compté le nombre chromosomique et estimé la plo?die par cytométrie de flux de plantes provenant de 23 populations échantillonnées en Autriche, Bosnie et Herzégovine, Finlande, Italie, Norvège, Roumanie, Slovaquie, Suisse et Ukraine. Ces données et celles de la littérature montrent une nette séparation spatiale entre deux cytotypes différents: Les populations diplo?des sexuées sont réparties uniquement dans les Carpates orientales et occidentales (Roumanie et Ukraine), tandis que les populations triplo?des apomictiques occupent l’aire de répartition restante. Ce type d’allopatrie stricte est rare chez les plantes avec parthénogenèse géographique. En comparant la taille du génome haplo?de (1Cx) des plantes triplo?des avec celui des plantes diplo?des, nous avons identifié une sensible réduction de taille du génome polyplo?de (la divergence moyenne est 3.7%). Parmi les plantes triplo?des, les individus du plateau de Vranica (Bosnie et Herzégovine) ont significativement moins d’ADN que les triplo?des provenant des Alpes ou des Carpates occidentales (2C = 10.28 pg d’ADN contre 11.02 et 10.93 pg, respectivement). Une corrélation significative entre la taille du génome et la longitude et la latitude a été révélée dans les Alpes, avec des valeurs décroissantes d’ouest en est, et du sud vers le nord. Tandis que les données publiées indiquaient une stérilité male complète chez les triplo?des, nous avons trouvé des plantes triplo?des provenant des Alpes et du plateau de Vranica produisant du pollen, bien qu’en faible quantité et de taille hétérogène. Divers scénarios sur l’évolution de la parthénogénèse géographique chez H. alpinum sont discutés à la lumière de ces nouveaux résultats.相似文献

HPLC chromatographic analyses of some phenolic acids in phloem of 1-year-old shoots sampled from 32 trees of eight Polish
provenances of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) growing under conditions of annosum root [Heterobasidion annosum (Fr.) Bref.] are discussed. Considerable quantitative and qualitative differentiation was found among individual trees. The
variability of trees was estimated with regard to the level of phenolic acids and correlations were established in order to
assess the character of their joint occurrence in shoot phloem. In view of pathogen presence, the content of phenolic acids
varies between individuals depending upon the genotype of pine, the stage of development of the disease and upon the effect
of tree growth conditions.

Summary Levels of benzoic and cinnamic acids in low peat soils, maintained for 25 years under four different cropping systems, were studied in field experiments. The soil samples were obtained from four horizons of thirteen selected profiles. Seven phenolic acids were identified by high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) techniques and their amounts were determined quantitatively. The concentration of phenolic acids in the soils depended on the cropping system and the depth of the soil profiles. Permanent grassland had the highest yield of phenolic compounds in peat soils. Much smaller amounts were found in the order forest, alternate and field utilization. Thus, phenolic compounds may be useful markers with which to follow the decomposition in peat soils. The content of phenolic acids decreased with the depth of the profiles, but in some cases the 25–30 cm soil layers contained higher amounts of phenols than the 5–10 cm layers. Compared with the surface layers the deeper horizons (55–60 cm and 95–100 cm) were low in phenolic acids. 相似文献

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Pilosella officinarum (syn. Hieracium pilosella) is a highly structured species with respect to the ploidy level, with obvious cytogeographic trends. Previous non-collated data indicated a possible differentiation in the frequency of particular ploidy levels in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Therefore, detailed sampling and ploidy level analyses were assessed to reveal a boundary of common occurrence of tetraploids on one hand and higher ploids on the other. For a better understanding of cytogeographic differentiation of P. officinarum in central Europe, a search was made for a general cytogeographic pattern in Europe based on published data. METHODS: DNA-ploidy level and/or chromosome number were identified for 1059 plants using flow cytometry and/or chromosome counting on root meristem preparations. Samples were collected from 336 localities in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and north-eastern Hungary. In addition, ploidy levels were determined for plants from 18 localities in Bulgaria, Georgia, Ireland, Italy, Romania and Ukraine. KEY RESULTS: Four ploidy levels were found in the studied area with a contrasting pattern of distribution. The most widespread cytotype in the western part of the Czech Republic is tetraploid (4x) reproducing sexually, while the apomictic pentaploids and mostly apomictic hexaploids (5x and 6x, respectively) clearly prevail in Slovakia and the eastern part of the Czech Republic. The boundary between common occurrence of tetraploids and higher ploids is very obvious and represents the geomorphologic boundary between the Bohemian Massif and the Western Carpathians with the adjacent part of Pannonia. Mixed populations consisting of two different ploidy levels were recorded in nearly 11% of localities. A statistically significant difference in a vertical distribution of penta- and hexaploids was observed in the Western Carpathians and the adjacent Pannonian Plain. Hexaploid populations tend to occur at lower elevations (usually below 500 m), while the pentaploid level is more or less evenly distributed up to 1000 m a.s.l. For the first time the heptaploid level (7x) was found on one site in Slovakia. In Europe, the sexual tetraploid level has clearly a sub-Atlantic character of distribution. The plants of higher ploidy level (penta- and hexa-) with mostly apomictic reproduction prevail in the northern part of Scandinavia and the British Isles, the Alps and the Western Carpathians with the adjacent part of Pannonia. A detailed overview of published data shows that extremely rare records on existence of diploid populations in the south-west Alps are with high probability erroneous and most probably refer to the closely related diploid species P. peleteriana. CONCLUSIONS: The recent distribution of P. officinarum in Europe is complex and probably reflects the climatic changes during the Pleistocene and consequent postglacial migrations. Probably both penta- and hexaploids arose independently in central Europe (Alps and Carpathian Mountains) and in northern Europe (Scandinavia, Great Britain, Ireland), where the apomictic plants colonized deglaciated areas. We suggest that P. officinarum is in fact an amphidiploid species with a basic tetraploid level, which probably originated from hybridizations of diploid taxa from the section Pilosellina. 相似文献

Growth and nitrogenase activity (acetylene reduction) of Azotobacter vinelandii in chemically defined N-free media were studied in the presence of p-hydroxybenzoic, vanillic, p-coumaric, and ferulic acids at concentrations from 0.01 to 1% (w/v). Growth and nitrogenase activity were only detected when the microorganism was cultured on p-hydroxybenzoic acid either as sole carbon source or mixed with other phenolic acids, suggesting that p-hydroxybenzoic acid could be utilized as a carbon source by A. vinelandii for growing under certain environmental conditions. 相似文献

Wallr. subsp. germanicus (2n = 40), S. hercynicus Herborg subsp. hercynicus (2n = 40), S. ovatus (P. Gaertn. et al.) Willd. subsp. ovatus (2n = 40) occurring in the Carpathians are also reported. The study confirmed only the known tetraploid chromosome number for
the taxa of this group. The pollen fertility ranged from 82.09 to 92.99% in all examined species and subspecies, including

A chemotaxonomic study of practically all the species of the genusAloe showed that flavonoids occur as major compounds in 31 out of a total of 380 species investigated. Flavanones and dihydroflavonols are present in the exudate of species inAloe ser.Rhodacanthae andSuperpositae and also in a number of the endemic species from Madagascar. Flavones occur as the only major compound in the leaf extracts of the sects.Leptoaloe andGraminialoe. In ser.Macrifoliae and inLomatophyllum, the sister genus ofAloe, isovitexin co-occurred with theC-glucosylanthrone aloin. The chemotaxonomic implication of these results are discussed together with the significance of the taxonomic and chemogeographical distribution of flavonoids inAloe. With a few rare exceptions, the leaf compounds from two different biogenetic pathways (polyketide pathway and flavonoid pathway) are mutually exclusive. Since flavonoids are restricted to the basal groups inAloe, we conclude that flavonoids are plesiomorphic characters inAloe reflecting ancient phylogenetic and biogeographic links. 相似文献

Fungi of the genera Beauveria and Paecilomyces were found to produce cyclotetradepsipeptides, beauverolides. Production of beauverolides was not detected at the genus Tolypocladium. Analysis of beauverolides therefore provides a very simple chemotaxonomic test which seems to be suitable for fast discrimination between the genera Beauveria vs Tolypocladium and complementing morphological examination. A GC-MS study of β-hydroxy acid distribution in the beauverolide hydrolyzates revealed that all strains prdouce γ-methyl-β-hydroxy acids only. Their occurrence thus cannot be used as a taxonomic marker of different species within the genera Beauveria and Paecilomyces. 相似文献
