The effect of muscle tissue alloplasty and laser radiation on the post-traumatic regeneration of skeletal muscles was studied. The implantation of an unirradiated minced allogenic muscle tissue into the area of trauma of a previously laser-irradiated muscle had a positive effect. The allogenic muscle tissue underwent active regeneration. The traumatized muscle fibers in the rat-recipient muscle grew into the alloplant. The implantation of a previously laser-irradiated muscle tissue into the area of trauma of an unirradiated muscle was less effective. The allogenic muscle tissue prevented the growth of rat-recipient myofibers and underwent lysis in general. The allotransplantation of a laser-irradiated muscle tissue into an x-irradiated (20 Gy) traumatized muscle increased the destruction of rat-recipient muscle tissue.  相似文献

The genetic advantages of Drosophila make it a very appealing choice for investigating muscle development, muscle physiology and muscle protein structure and function. To take full advantage of this model organism, it has been vital to develop isolated Drosophila muscle preparations that can be mechanically evaluated. We describe techniques to isolate, prepare and mechanically analyze skinned muscle fibers from two Drosophila muscle types, the indirect flight muscle and the jump muscle. The function of the indirect flight muscle is similar to vertebrate cardiac muscle, to generate power in an oscillatory manner. The indirect flight muscle is ideal for evaluating the influence of protein mutations on muscle and cross-bridge stiffness, oscillatory power, and deriving cross-bridge rate constants. Jump muscle physiology and structure are more similar to skeletal vertebrate muscle than indirect flight muscle, and it is ideal for measuring maximum shortening velocity, force-velocity characteristics and steady-state power generation.  相似文献

The influence of muscle geometry on muscle shortening of the gastrocnemius medialis muscle (GM) of the rat was studied. Using cinematography, GM geometry was studied during isokinetic concentric activity at muscle lengths ranging from 85 to 105% of the optimum muscle length. The shortening speed of the distal fibre, the proximal aponeurosis and the muscle were determined, as well as the effect of rotation of the distal fibre and the proximal aponeurosis on the muscle speed of shortening. The results show that, due to the geometrical configuration, muscle shortening speed is not only determined by the speed of the fibre, but also to a large extent by the aponeurosis shortening speed. At optimum muscle length, the fibre and aponeurosis shortening speeds expressed relative to the muscle shortening speed amounted to 84% and 6%, respectively. At shorter muscle length, fibre speed relative to muscle speed decreased to values as low as 35%, whereas that of aponeurosis increased to values as high as 31%. Angular effects on the muscle speed of shortening can explain 10% of the muscle shortening speed at optimum muscle length and up to 34% of the muscle speed at shorter muscle length. In addition, a model was formulated to simulate the geometrical effects on muscle speed. This model, incorporating both fibre and aponeurosis length changes, contains a transfer function relating the shortening speeds of fibre and aponeurosis to muscle speed. The muscle shortening speed calculated using this transfer function demonstrated no significant differences with the speed measured experimentally.  相似文献

为了解壮侗语族族群肌肉分布特点以及探讨随年龄增长壮侗语族族群各个部位肌肉量变化的基本特点,使用人体脂肪测量仪采用生物电阻抗法在海南、贵州、广西、云南、湖南五个省、自治区测量了壮侗语族13个族群的身体肌肉量。总样本量为5098例(男性为2126例,女性为2972例)。采用握力计测量了2685例男性和3793例女性的左手、右手握力。研究发现,壮侗语族族群男性、女性肌肉量总体评价接近标准,上下肢肌肉量判断属于标准水平。男性、女性均为躯干肌肉量最大,下肢肌肉量次之,上肢肌肉量最小。男性总肌肉量、四肢肌肉量、躯干肌肉量都大于女性。男性3个年龄组间总肌肉量、躯干肌肉量、上肢肌肉量、右下肢肌肉量的差异具有统计学意义,而左下肢肌肉量彼此接近;女性3个年龄组间总肌肉量、四肢肌肉量、躯干肌肉量差异均具有统计学意义。男性除左下肢肌肉量外,其余5项肌肉量指标均与年龄呈显著负相关关系;女性总肌肉量、躯干肌肉量与年龄呈显著负相关,但四肢肌肉量与年龄无显著负相关。壮侗语族族群肌肉量少于北方族群,具有中国南方族群的特点。在南方族群中,壮侗语族族群男性肌肉量中等,女性肌肉量略多一些。  相似文献

The red and pink aerobic muscle fibers are used to power steady swimming in fishes. We examined red and pink muscle recruitment and function during swimming in scup, Stenotomus chrysops, through electromyography and high-speed ciné. Computer analysis of electromyograms (EMGs) allowed determination of initial speed of muscle recruitment and duty cycle and phase of muscle electromyographic activity for both fiber types. This analysis was carried out for three longitudinal positions over a range of swimming speeds. Fiber type and longitudinal position both affected swimming speed of initial recruitment. Posterior muscle is recruited at the lowest swimming speed, whereas more anterior muscle is not initially recruited until higher speeds. At more anterior positions, the initial recruitment of pink muscle occurs at a higher swimming speed than the recruitment of red muscle. The duty cycle of pink muscle EMG activity is significantly shorter than that of red muscle, reflecting a difference in the onset time of activation during each cycle of length change: pink muscle onset time follows that of red. The different patterns of usage of red and pink muscle reflect differences in their contraction kinetics. Because pink muscle generates force more rapidly than red muscle, it can be activated later in each tailbeat cycle. Pink muscle is used to augment red muscle power production at higher swimming speeds, allowing a higher aerobically based steady swimming speed than that possible by red muscle alone.  相似文献

1. The temperature dependence of the kinetics of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase from white muscle of carp and skeletal muscle of pig was examined. 2. The Km values of carp muscle enzyme were stable over the temperature range 5-35 degrees C, but increased for pig muscle enzyme with increasing temperature. 3. The Arrhenius plot for pig muscle enzyme is linear but non-linear for carp muscle enzyme. 4. The differences indicate that glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase from white carp muscle may contribute to the adaptive mechanism of carp to varied temperature conditions.  相似文献

The properties of extraocular muscle are important in consideration of the control of human eye movements. A proposed model for human extraocular muscle is based on the anatomical and physiological evidence; it considers both the static and dynamic properties of active and passive muscle. The passive parallel elasticity was determined from the length-tension curves for passive muscle, while the active series elasticity was defined utilizing quick stretch results for active muscle. The characteristics of active muscle as the tension generator were computed from length-tension data; the force-velocity relationship was used to describe the viscosity of active muscle. Simulations using the muscle model accurately depicted the quick stretch experiments of both active and passive muscle as well as the isometric development of muscle force to a state of tentanus. The model will be incorporated into an overall representation of the extraocular plant mechanism in the immediately suceeding paper.  相似文献

The active length-tension relation was determined for the left digastric muscle of seven New Zealand White rabbits anesthetized with pentobarbital. Measurements of muscle length and fiber architecture were made from photographs of resting and actively contracting muscle. There was a marked difference between length-tension curves based upon resting as compared to active muscle length. The active length-tension relation had a longer descending limb than ascending limb, whereas the length-tension relation based on passive muscle length tended to be symmetrical around optimum length. On the average, muscle fibers lengthened 0.77 mm for each 1 mm of extension of the muscle belly. Since the rabbit digastric muscle is unipinnate, this suggests that pinnation serves to enhance the range of muscle excursion in this muscle.  相似文献

The accommodatory system was examined in two teleosts (mackerel and bass). The fine structure and innervation of the lens muscle is presented to characterize the muscle organization. The neural pathway involved in the dynamic accommodation was examined by analysing the fibre spectrum of the ciliary nerve, and the nerve that controls the lens-muscle activity was studied by means of electrical stimulation. The lens muscle is composed of smooth-muscle cells, which contain numerous mitochondria. Many synaptic endings are also found on the muscle cells; these synaptic endings contain many agranular vesicles. From the results of the fibre analysis, it was found that the nerve that controls the lens muscle contains less than 100 myelinated nerve fibres in both fish: the electrical stimulation experiments demonstrate that the muscle is controlled by oculomotor (parasympathetic) nerve fibres. Ultrastructural features of the lens muscle and its nerve control resemble those of the mammalian ciliary muscle. The teleostean lens muscle is classified as a multi-unit smooth muscle.  相似文献

Complete amino acid sequences for four mammalian muscle actins are reported: bovine skeletal muscle actin, bovine cardiac actin, the major component of bovine aorta actin, and rabbit slow skeletal muscle actin. The number of different actins in a higher mammal for which full amino acid sequences are now available is therefore increased from two to five. Screening of different smooth muscle tissues revealed in addition to the aorta type actin a second smooth muscle actin, which appears very similar if not identical to chicken gizzard actin. Since the sequence of chicken gizzard actin is known, six different actins are presently characterized in a higher mammal. The two smooth muscle actins--bovine aorta actin and chicken gizzard actin--differ by only three amino acid substitutions, all located in the amino-terminal end. In the rest of their sequences both smooth muscle actins share the same four amino acid substitutions, which distinguish them from skeletal muscle actin. Cardiac muscle actin differs from skeletal muscle actin by only four amino acid exchanges. No amino acid substitutions were found when actins from rabbit fast and slow skeletal muscle were compared. In addition we summarize the amino acid substitution patterns of the six different mammalian actins and discuss their tissue specificity. The results show a very close relationship between the four muscle actins in comparison to the nonmuscle actins. The amino substitution patterns indicate that skeletal muscle actin is the highest differentiated actin form, whereas smooth muscle actins show a noticeably cloer relation to nonmuscle actins. By these criteria cardiac muscle actin lies between skeletal muscle actin and smooth muscle actins.  相似文献

Responses of the skeletal muscle tissue and thymus to muscle injury (complete transection) and wound xenoplasty with the minced muscle tissue of newborn rats (tissue therapy) were studied in mdx mice aged 12–16 and 40–48 weeks. The muscle tissue of mdx mice has genetic defects causing chronic dystrophic processes in it. The muscle tissue of young mdx mice proved to retain a relatively high capacity for regeneration. Under conditions of tissue therapy of the wound, the formation of muscle fibers from muscle cells of the graft and active regeneration of muscle fibers in the recipient mice were observed, and no structural defects were detected in the thymus. The capacity of posttraumatic regeneration in old mdx mice was lower. The xenogenic graft was undergoing resorption, thereby suppressing regeneration of muscle fibers and causing further tissue destruction in the injured muscle. The thymus parenchyma was subject to degenerative changes such as the formation of gaps, hemorrhagic foci, and increased numbers of macrophages and mast cells.  相似文献

Aging is associated with gradual decline of skeletal muscle strength and mass often leading to diminished muscle quality. This phenomenon is known as sarcopenia and affects about 30% of the over 60-year-old population. Androgens act as anabolic agents regulating muscle mass and improving muscle performance. The role of female sex steroids as well as the ability of skeletal muscle tissue to locally produce sex steroids has been less extensively studied. We show that despite the extensive systemic deficit of sex steroid hormones in postmenopausal compared to premenopausal women, the hormone content of skeletal muscle does not follow the same trend. In contrast to the systemic levels, muscle tissue of post- and premenopausal women had similar concentrations of dehydroepiandrosterone and androstenedione, while the concentrations of estradiol and testosterone were significantly higher in muscle of the postmenopausal women. The presence of steroidogenetic enzymes in muscle tissue indicates that the elevated postmenopausal steroid levels in skeletal muscle are because of local steroidogenesis. The circulating sex steroids were associated with better muscle quality while the muscle concentrations reflected the amount of infiltrated fat within muscle tissue. We conclude that systemically delivered and peripherally produced sex steroids have distinct roles in the regulation of neuromuscular characteristics during aging.  相似文献

The arrangement and innervation of lateral muscle and adductor mandibulae (AM) complex were examined histochemically and immunohistochemically in the sturgeon Acipenser transmontanus. Lateral muscle was arranged in myotomes in which the superficial slow-red muscle layer and the deep fast-white muscle layer were separated by an intermediate layer of pink muscle. The AM complex was composed of a small slow-red muscle layer, but the bulk of the muscle was composed of fast-white fibres. Pink fibres appeared both in an intermediate layer and scattered throughout the fast-white muscle. The innervation appeared to resemble that of elasmobranchs and some teleosts. Slow-red fibres of lateral muscle were multiply innervated, whereas fast-white muscle fibres were focally innervated at the myoseptal end. Pink fibres of lateral muscle and fast-white fibres of AM were focally innervated in the mid-region of the fibres. There were no significant differences between 5 month old and adult sturgeons except for a much better developed intermediate (pink) layer surrounding the lateral line in the adult.  相似文献

Summary Cross-union of the tibial with the pudendal nerve innervating the androgen-sensitive levator ani (LA) muscle of male rats, results in reversal of the histochemical muscle fibre pattern concerning myofibrillar ATPase, succinate dehydrogenase and phosphorylase enzyme activities. The homogeneous muscle fibre pattern of the LA muscle is changed to a mosaic pattern of muscles normally innervated by the tibial nerve. The success of the hetero-reinnervation is shown by practically full recovery of muscle weight and of isometric twitch-contraction properties of the LA muscle. Castration of 2-months duration, i. e. lack of the male sex hormone, leads to marked atrophy but no change in histochemical muscle fibre pattern. Hetero-reinnervation of the LA muscle results in change of histochemical enzyme pattern even if the cross-union of nerves is performed after long periods of castration leading to very marked decrease of muscle fibre size. However, testosterone application alone after castration increases markedly muscle fibre size but does not lead to reversal of muscle fibre pattern. The myotropic hormonal influence on the target (LA) muscle is therefore primarily of myogenic origin and specificity of hormonal action is maintained even with a foreign nerve innervating the muscle. The experiments, thus, provide evidence for the differentiation of specific neural influences affecting muscle fibre pattern and hormonal influences in respect to the myotropic action of the sex hormone on the androgen-sensitive LA muscle.  相似文献

The physiological and pharmacological properties of circular and longitudinal somatic musculature in adult male Schistosoma mansoni were compared using cut muscle sections. Carbachol reduced tone in both circular and longitudinal muscle, but was without effect on circular muscle bathed in high Mg2+, indicating that cholinergic receptors were not associated with circular muscle membrane. 5-Hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) induced rhythmic contractile activity in both sets of muscle. It decreased muscle tone in circular muscle but increased the tone of longitudinal muscle. Metergoline blocked 5-HT effects on both sets of muscle. 5-HT continued to be effective on both sets of muscle bathed in high-Mg2+ medium, indicating that serotonergic receptors were present on both circular and longitudinal muscle membranes. Dopamine decreased both circular and longitudinal muscle tone. Its effects on circular muscle were still present after exposure to high Mg2+, but its effects on the longitudinal muscle were significantly reduced, leading to the conclusion that dopaminergic sites were probably associated with circular muscle membrane but not that of longitudinal muscle. Also, spiroperidol blocked stimulus responsiveness of the circular muscle but not that of the longitudinal muscle. From these studies it appears that there are significant physiological and pharmacological differences between circular and longitudinal muscles in the adult male schistosome.  相似文献

The ultrastructural characteristics of oesophageal striated muscle from guinea-pig and marmoset have been examined using transmission electron microscopy and compared with ultrastructural features of skeletal muscle. The findings show that, although similar to skeletal muscle, oesophageal striated muscle exhibits important differences in the arrangement of its muscle fibres and their motor innervation. It was also found impossible to classify oesophageal striated muscle according to the usual ultrastructural criteria since its motor endplates bore a greater resemblance to those of intrafusal skeletal muscle fibres. The consideration of these differences in conjunction with characteristics revealed elsewhere by other techniques confirms the unique nature of oesophageal striated muscle.  相似文献

The pressure field produced by an isometrically contracting frog gastrocnemius muscle is described by the fluid mechanics equations for a vibrating sphere. The equations predict a pressure amplitude that is proportional to the lateral acceleration of the muscle, inversely proportional to the square of the distance from the muscle, and cosinusoidally related to the major axis of lateral movement. The predictions are confirmed by experiments that measure the pressure amplitude distribution and by photographs of muscle movement during contraction. The lateral movement of muscle has the appearance of an oscillating system response to a step function input--the oscillation may be at the resonant frequency of the muscle and therefore may provide a means to measure muscle stiffness without actually touching the muscle.  相似文献
