The aim of this research was to evaluate the acute toxicity of fenitrothion to the crayfish (Astacus leptodactylus Eschscholtz, 1823), which is chosen as an alternative aquatic organism to fish by using the static test system and evaluate the basic lipid peroxidation parameters for the first 24 h. Crayfish of 27.3 ± 0.56 g mean weight and 10.0 ± 0.72 cm mean length were selected for the bioassay experiments. The experiments were repeated three times in 20 liters of tap water. The temperature of water was 21 ± 1°C. The data obtained were statistically evaluated by using a computer program developed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, based on Finney's probit analysis method and the 96-h LC(50) value for crayfish was calculated to be 15.75 μg/L. The 95% lower and upper confidence limits for the LC(50) were 9.45 to 25.01 μg/L. In addition to the acute toxicity bioassay experiments, 24-h oxidative stress parameters such as malondialdehyde (MDA) levels and ferrous oxidation assay (FOX HP [hydrogen peroxide] equivalents) were also determined. Only MDA levels of hepatopancreas decreased at 5, 10, and 20 μg/L of fenitrothion doses. We can conclude that fenitrothion is highly toxic to crayfish, a nontarget organism in the ecosystem, and the lipid peroxidation indicators can be easily used for monitoring environmental effects.  相似文献

1. The acute toxicity of endosulfan was determined for the freshwater rotifer Brachionus calyciflorus. 2. The mean 24 hr LC50 value for endosulfan was 5.15 ppm with a coefficient of variation of 14.7%. 3. Rotifers were exposed at two sublethal concentrations (1.5-2.0 ppm) of endosulfan for bioaccumulation experiments, for an exposure time of 24, 48, 72 and 96 hr. The rotifers were fed with Nannochloris oculata (5 x 10(5) cell/ml). 4. The highest accumulation of endosulfan was found 24 hr after the start of the exposure to 1.5 ppm of the toxicant. A steady-state concentration in rotifer was reached between 24-48 hr, followed by a gradual decrease until 96 hr.  相似文献

Median lethal (LC(50)) and effective (EC(50)) concentrations for 1-h and 24-h exposures to the anaesthetic MS222 (tricaine methanesulfonate) were determined for zebrafish Danio rerio larvae ranging in age from 3 days postfertilization (dpf) to 9 dpf. Cessation of heart beat was used as the indicator of death (LC(50)) while failure to respond to direct mechanical stimulation of the head region was taken as an indication of deep anaesthesia (EC(50)). 1-h LC(50)s, 1-h EC(50)s and 24-h EC(50)s all decreased gradually but significantly (all P<0.01) with age. Mean values for 1-h LC(50)s were 1633 mg L(-1) and 730 mg L(-1), respectively, for 3 dpf and 9 dpf larvae. Mean value for 1-h and 24-h EC(50)s were 106 mg L(-1) and 100 mg L(-1), respectively, at 3 dpf and 65 mg L(-1) and 31 mg L(-1), respectively, at 9 dpf. The gradual increase with age in sensitivity to the anaesthetic implied by these indicators is probably a reflection of ontogenetic changes in the activity of detoxification pathways. Mean values for the 24-h LC(50) also decreased significantly (P<0.001) with age, from 566 mg L(-1) at 3 dpf to 64 mg L(-1) at 9 dpf. However, unlike the other indicators, the decrease was not gradual but occurred in a step-like fashion with virtually all of the change occurring between 4 dpf and 7 dpf. This sharp increase in sensitivity coincides with the shift in the major site of systemic ionoregulatory activity from the skin to the gills. The implications of these ontogenetic changes in lethal and effective levels for researchers or others intending to use the anaesthetic with fish larvae are discussed.  相似文献

基于均匀设计法研究水蓼(Polygonum hydropiper L.)全草的不同提取液对一字纹稻苞虫Parnara guttata Bremenet Grey的触杀和拒食活性。结果表明,乙醇浸提液对一字纹稻苞虫具有较高的触杀活性,48h的致死中浓度(LC50)为23.18mg·mL-1;水蒸汽蒸馏液对一字纹稻苞虫具有较强的拒食活性,24和48h的拒食中浓度(AFC50)分别为26.61和26.18mg·mL-1;丙酮浸提液对一字纹稻苞虫的触杀和拒食活性均不显著。54h的同时触杀和拒食活性浓度筛选的结果表明,乙醇浸提液70.02mg·mL-1和水蒸汽蒸馏液69.12mg·mL-1联合使用对一字纹稻苞虫同时触杀和拒食活性最好,死亡率达100%。  相似文献

双酚A和壬基酚对隆线溞和微型裸腹溞的毒性   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
我们以隆线溞和微型裸腹溞为实验动物,进行了两种酚类内分泌干扰物双酚A(BPA)和壬基酚(NP)的毒性效应研究。急性实验测定出双酚A对隆线溞的24h和48h半数致死浓度(LC50)为:12.02mg/L和11.64mg/L,对微型裸腹溞24h和48h半数致死浓度LC50为:13.70mg/L和9.63mg/L。而壬基酚对隆线溞的24h和48h半数致死浓度(LC50)分别为:0.221mg/L和0.159mg/L,对微型裸腹溞的24h和48h半数致死浓度(LC50)分别为:0.334mg/L和0.126mg/L。实验表明微型裸腹溞对双酚A和壬基酚的敏感度高于隆线溞,能够很好的指示水环境的污染。慢性毒性实验发现双酚A对微型裸腹溞后代的雌雄比例有明显的影响,影响类似于hormesis现象。而壬基酚对隆线溞的慢性毒性研究发现,隆线溞的生活史、后代成活率均受到暴露的壬基酚浓度升高的不利影响。这些研究表明低浓度双酚A长期暴露的潜在毒性与高浓度壬基酚的急性毒性在这两种内分泌干扰物污染环境的研究中有重要意义。  相似文献

Avoidance thresholds and 96-h LC50 values were determined for golden shiners, Noiemigonus crysoleucas , for five individual elements: chromium, Cr; copper, Cu; cadmium, Cd; arsenic, As; selenium, Se. The avoidance concentrations were 73, 26 and 28 μgl-1 for Cr-VI, Cu and As-III, respectively. Cadmium and Se were not avoided at experimental concentrations up to 68 and 3489 μg1-1, respectively. Acute flow-through 96-h LC50 values were Cr-VI 55·0, Cu 84·6, and As-III 12·5 mg 1-1, which were more than two orders of magnitude above avoidance concentrations. The acute flow-through 96-h LC50 values for Cd and Se were 2·8 and 11·2 mg 1-1, respectively. These concentrations are 31 and 2·2 times the highest concentration employed in the avoidance tests, neither of which were avoided by the test organisms. Thus, simple toxicity tests do not identify the environmental hazard of some elements, and the most toxic elements may not elicit a behavioural response. When used in concert with tests of organism function, more realistic indicators of environmental hazard or safety may be determined.  相似文献

The survival of Atlantic salmon smolts on exposure to constant concentrations of cyanide and ammonia, singly and together, has been measured under laboratory conditions at a concentration of 5 mgl-1 of carbon dioxide. The 24-h LC50 values of cyanide and of un-ionised ammonia, in fresh water, were 0·073 mg HCN l-1 and 0·20 mg NH3l-1 respectively at a concentration of dissolved oxygen of 10 mg l-1, and 0·024 mg HCN l-1 and 0·08 mgNH3l-1 respectively at a concentration of dissolved oxygen of 3·5 mg l-1. In 30% sea water the corresponding values were similar for cyanide but markedly higher for ammonioa. In 80% sea water the values were intermediate between those of fresh water and 30% sea water. Prior acclimation of the fish to the respective toxicant increased the resistance of the fish only slightly to cyanide, but with ammonia the 24-h LC50 was increased between 1·4 and 2-fold after acclimation for 1–3 days to between 0·2 and 0·5 of the 24-h LC50 value. Mixtures of cyanide and ammonia were between 0·6 and 1·25 times as toxic as expected, assuming simple additivity of toxicity.  相似文献

研究了3种微生态制剂(复合微生态制剂Ⅰ、复合微生态制剂Ⅱ和芽孢杆菌)对大型溞的急、慢性毒性影响,分析比较了3种微生态制剂的安全使用剂量以及对大型溞生殖和种群增长的影响.试验结果表明,3种微生态制剂对大型溞死亡率影响均显著(P < 0.05),从安全浓度来看,对大型溞的毒性作用依次为:复合微生态制剂Ⅱ>复合微生态制剂Ⅰ>芽孢杆菌;在安全浓度范围内,3种微生态制剂对大型溞亲代(P)的生殖和种群增长均有明显的促进作用,表现在随微生态制剂浓度的升高,P代的净生殖率(R0)和内禀增长率(rm)均显著增加(P < 0.05),其中以复合微生态制剂Ⅰ的效果最好,R0最高值为对照组的7倍,rm最高值为对照组的1.7倍;3种微生态制剂对大型溞子一代(F1)和子二代(F2)的生殖和种群增长均没有促进作用.  相似文献

We analized acute toxicity in white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) postlarvae exposed to two chlorinated pesticides, DDT and endosulfan, under laboratory conditions during 168 hours, with controlled temperature (29 +/- 1 degrees C), salinity (3 +/- 1%o) and pH (8 +/- 1). Median lethal concentrations (LC50), "incipient" LC50, median lethal time (LT50) the "maximum acceptable concentration of the toxic compound" (MACT) and "the safety level" (SL) were determined. The concentration of the compounds at which organism growth was reduced by 5 and 50% (EC5 and EC50), as well as changes in oxygen consumption patterns were determined in the surviving postlarvae. They were very sensitive to both compounds and DDT was thrice as toxic as endosulfan. Growth rate decreased 50% and 80% with endosulfan and DDT, respectively, at the experimental pestice concentration. The low resistance of postlarvae to DDT and endosulfan suggests that additional inflow of these pesticides into the aquatic system could affect the rate of shrimp production in the area.  相似文献

采用斑马鱼胚胎发育技术,对环境激素类物质五氯酚的毒性进行测定,结果表明,五氯酚(PCP)对胚胎的特定作用时间段是卵产出至发育6 h之内;PCP对胚胎发育有明显的抑制作用,会造成胚胎发育的畸形或死亡,不同时间染毒产生的可观察毒理学终点各异;随着PCP对发育48 h斑马鱼胚胎作用时间的减短,其致死效应敏感性降低,其中0 hpf组的LC0值最小,为70.8μg·L-1,24hpf组LC0值最大,为831.8μg·L-1;斑马鱼胚胎对孵化后0时染毒的PCP最为敏感,PCP对胚胎产生急性毒性效应的敏感指标:心胞囊肿、血液循环障碍、无心律>孵化率降低>停滞发育作用;斑马鱼胚胎最敏感的指标为48 h血液循环障碍和48 h半致死效应.  相似文献

The brown planthopper, Nilaparvato lugens Stat. (BPH) is the most devastating insect pest in rice fields. Outbreaks of BPH, which are resistant to many synthetic insecticides, can cause total rice crop loss. This research was done to evaluate the efficiency of extracts of mangosteen pericarp (Garcina mangostana L.) as an alternative control of BPH Thailand strain. Topical spraying was applied to various stages of nymphal and adult BPH to determine toxicity. An ethanol extract of mangosteen pericarp extract gave the best control of BPH, with LC50 of 4.5% w/v (r2 = 0.95) with 3rd instar BPH nymphs when compared with the other solvents, hexane, acetone and dichloromethane. The active compound, alpha-mangostin showed an LC50 of 5.44%w/v (r2 = 0.88). The toxicity of this extract was less than that of Imidacloprid which showed an LC50 of 0.0042% w/v (r2 = 0.99). The toxicity to non-target organisms was determined. This extract showed toxicity to guppies ((LC50 = 2.53 and 4.27 ppm for females and males, respectively; r2 = 0.97 and 0.97, respectively), bees (LC50 = 4.38% w/v, r2 = 0.95) and mice (no oral acute toxicity and no dermal inflammation but showed eye irritation in 1 day which became normal within 3 days). In vitro detoxification enzyme activities of carboxylesterase, acetylcholinesterase and glutathione-s-transferase from BPH after 24 hours exposure were also observed. Carboxylesterase showed stronger activity than other enzymes. Toxicity in terms of LC50 values of both the extract and imidacloprid treatments increased in each generation. The LC50 values for each generation were 4.22-6.67 after sequential spraying. After the ethanol extract was kept at 4 degrees C, room temperature and 55 degrees C for 3 months, the quantity of alpha-mangostin and the BPH control efficiency was lower at 55 degrees C than those for other temperatures. The results from this research indicate that mangosteen pericarp extract can be an alternative insecticide for the control of BPH, which may possess high efficiency, cause with fewer environmental problems and result in less resistance in the BPH.  相似文献

The effect of altering water chemistry on acute silver toxicity to three invertebrate species, two Daphnids, Daphnia magna and Daphnia pulex, as well as an amphipod Gammarus pulex was assessed. In addition, the physiological basis of Ag(I) toxicity to G. pulex was examined. Daphnia magna and D. pulex were more sensitive than G. pulex and 48 h LC(50) values in synthetic ion poor water were 0.47, 0.65 and 2.1 microg Ag(I) l(-1), respectively. Increasing water [Cl(-)] reduced Ag(I) toxicity in all species, and increasing water [Ca(2+)] from 50 to 1,500 microM reduced Ag(I) toxicity in G. pulex. Whole body Na(+) content, but not K(+) or Ca(2+) was significantly reduced in G. pulex exposed to 6 microg Ag(I) l(-1) for 24 h, but there was no inhibition of whole body Na(+)/K(+)-ATPase activity. Both increasing water [Cl(-)] and [Ca(2+)] reduced this Ag(I)-induced Na(+) loss. For D. magna, the presence of 10 mg l(-1) humic acid or 0.5 microM 3-mercaptoproprionic acid (3-MPA) increased the 48 h LC(50) values by 5.9 and 58.5-fold, respectively, and for D. pulex the presence of 1 microM thiosulfate increased the 48 h LC(50) value by four-fold. The D. magna toxicity data generated from this study were used to derive a Daphnia biotic ligand model (BLM). Analysis of the measured LC(50) values vs. the predicted LC(50) values for toxicity data from the present and published results where water Cl(-), Ca(2+), Na(+) or humic acid were varied showed that 91% of the measured toxicity data fell within a factor of two of the predicted LC(50) values. However, the daphnid BLM could not accurately predict G. pulex toxicity. Additionally, the Daphnia BLM was under-protective in the presence of the organic thiols 3-MPA or thiosulphate and predicted an increase in the LC(50) value of 114- and 74-fold, respectively. The Daphnia toxicity based BLM derived from the present data set is successful in predicting Daphnia toxicity in laboratory data sets in the absence of sulfur containing compounds, but shows its limitations when applied to waters containing organic thiols or thiosulphate.  相似文献

The effects of tributyltin (TBT) compounds on gill morphology were examined in the mummichog, Fundulus heteroclitus , in 96-h LC50 and 6-week sublethal exposures. Morphometry was used for the identification and quantification of effects with the light microscope. A 96-h LC50 of 17.2 μg 1 1 was determined. Morphometric analysis of gill tissues revealed hypertrophy of the lamellar epithelium in fish exposed to 17.2 μg 1–1. Relative diffusing capacity was significantly decreased (−41 %); ( P <0.05, ANOVA, Bonferroni t -test). At 35.6 μg 1−1, TBT exposure resulted in a significant reduction (− 40%) in the volume of the lamellar blood channels. Both of these observations occurred in fish that showed signs of acute poisoning including loss of equilibrium. In fish exposed to sublethal concentrations of 0.105–2.000 μg TBT 1−1 for 6 weeks, there were no pathological changes in the gill. There were no treatment-related changes in the surface morphology of the gills of fish from both experiments upon scanning electron microscopic examination. Although gill pathology was observed in acutely toxic exposures, it does not appear to be a major mechanism of TBT toxicity.  相似文献

Laboratory toxicity studies were conducted in southeastern Queensland, Australia, to determine the acute lethal effects of a 1-h pulse exposure of selected insecticides to adult and juvenile (<72 h old) crimson-spotted rainbowfish, Melanotaenia duboulayi (Castlenau). In addition, to its ecological significance, this native fish is a predator of mosquitoes. Two organophosphate (OP) compounds (temephos and pirimiphos-methyl), an entomophathogenic bacterium (Bacillus thuringiensis variety israelensis [Bti]) and two insect growth regulators (IGRs) (s-methoprene and pyriproxyfen) were evaluated. Although none of the five insecticides were acutely toxic to adult M. duboulayi under the test conditions, temephos and pirimiphos-methyl were found to be toxic to juveniles, with 24 h pulse exposure LC50 values of 27 and 15 microg/liter (ppb), respectively. Of the two OPs, pirimiphos-methyl was the most toxic, with a lethal dose ratio (pulse exposure LC50 temephos/ pulse exposure LC50 pirimiphos-methyl) of 1.8 (95% CL 0.5-6.4). These pulse exposure LC50 values represented 40 and 4.5% of the estimated environmental concentrations (EEC) for a 15 cm deep water body, respectively. Bti and the two IGRs had no acute toxic effects at up to 10 and 12.5 times the EEC, respectively. Accordingly, in the interests of environmental conservation and integrated pest management (IPM), preference should be given to the latter three insecticides for control of mosquito larvae in juvenile M. duboulayi habitat.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to examine bivariate relationships among cancer slope factor (CSF) and acute toxicity in rats and salmonid fish. Chemicals (n=43) were selected based on the availability of both oral CSF and acute toxicity data (rat oral median lethal dose [LD50] or salmonid median lethal concentration [LC50]). Rat oral LD50, salmonid LC50, and oral CSF data were log-transformed, and a Bonferroni-adjusted alpha level was set at 0.05 for subsequent correlation analysis. A significant correlation was observed between CSF and rat oral LD50 (r=?0.61) but not for CSF and salmonid LC50 (r=?0.29). Moreover, rat and fish acute toxicity were not significantly correlated (r=0.38). The significant correlation between CSF and rat oral LD50 compares favorably with published results reported in related studies. Accordingly, these results support prediction of carcinogenic potency, expressed as oral CSF, based in part on acute toxicity in rats.  相似文献

A 28-day chronic toxicity test and two 7-day chronic estimation toxicity tests were conducted with silver nitrate (AgNO(3)) and the marine invertebrate, Americamysis bahia, in 20 per thousand (parts-per thousand) salinity seawater. One 7-day test was initiated with 7-day-old mysids and the second was initiated with <24-h-old mysids. There was very good agreement between the three toxicity tests. The no-observed-effect concentration (NOEC) values from the 28-day test, the 7-day test initiated with 7-day-old mysids, and the 7-day test initiated with <24-h-old mysids were 34, 65 and 38 microg/l silver, respectively. The 96-h LC50 values from the 28-day toxicity test and the 7-day toxicity test initiated with 7-day old mysids were 260 microg/l, and the 96-h LC50 value from the 7-day toxicity test initiated with <24-h-old mysids was 280 microg/l. Free ionic silver, Ag(+), concentrations measured with a silver electrode were in good agreement with concentrations calculated using total dissolved silver and chloride concentrations. Mean measured concentrations of Ag(+) in the test solutions ranged from 0.99 to 25 ng/l for the dissolved silver concentrations that ranged from 34 to 410 microg/l silver, indicating that free ionic silver varied from 0.003 to 0.006% of the silver dissolved in the 20 per thousand salinity seawater. Understanding the relationship of salinity and silver speciation, and the effect of this relationship on chronic invertebrate toxicity, will be useful for development of a marine biotic ligand model (BLM) and a water quality criterion for silver. This model could provide an important tool for improving the relationship of laboratory toxicity test results and predicted effects in natural environments, where variations in salinity may act to modify the toxicity of silver and other metals.  相似文献

以静水生物测试法研究了四氯乙烯和重金属镉对草鱼的单一与联合毒性,同时采用Marking相加指数法对二者的联合毒性进行了评价.单一毒性试验表明:四氯乙烯对草鱼24、48、72和96 h的半数致死浓度(LC50)分别为49.12、41.68、36.37和34.30 mg·L-1;镉对草鱼24、48、72和96h的LC50分别为45.58、34.81、28.63和24.05mg·L-1;二者对草鱼均有毒性,而且为高毒,镉的毒性大于四氯乙烯.联合毒性试验表明:二者毒性比为1∶1,暴露时间为24、48、72和96 h时四氯乙烯和镉的LC50分别为24.63、12.54、9.88和7.08 mg·L-1以及17.11、8.71、6.87和4.92 mg·L-1,相加指数AI(additive index)分别为0.14、0.81、0.95和1.43,联合作用结果为协同效应,并且随着时间的增加,协同作用增强;二者浓度比为1∶1, 暴露时间为24、48 、72和96 h时四氯乙烯和镉的LC50分别为17.00、11.18、10.61和9.19 mg·L-1,AI分别为0.39、0.70、0.51和0.54,联合作用为协同作用.  相似文献

The objectives of this study were to determine whether the invasive plant Amaranthus viridis influenced soil microbial and chemical properties and to assess the consequences of these modifications on native plant growth. The experiment was conducted in Senegal at two sites: one invaded by A. viridis and the other covered by other plant species. Soil nutrient contents as well as microbial community density, diversity and functions were measured. Additionally, five sahelian Acacia species were grown in (1) soil disinfected or not collected from both sites, (2) uninvaded soil exposed to an A. viridis plant aqueous extract and (3) soil collected from invaded and uninvaded sites and inoculated or not with the arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungus Glomus intraradices . The results showed that the invasion of A. viridis increased soil nutrient availability, bacterial abundance and microbial activities. In contrast, AM fungi and rhizobial development and the growth of Acacia species were severely reduced in A. viridis -invaded soil. Amaranthus viridis aqueous extract also exhibited an inhibitory effect on rhizobial growth, indicating an antibacterial activity of this plant extract. However, the inoculation of G. intraradices was highly beneficial to the growth and nodulation of Acacia species. These results highlight the role of AM symbiosis in the processes involved in plant coexistence and in ecosystem management programs that target preservation of native plant diversity.  相似文献

为了解氨氮对线纹海马(Hippocampus erectus)幼鱼的毒理影响,本实验探讨了在正常溶解氧(4.32~5.12 mg·L-1)和高溶解氧(8.22~9.46 mg·L-1)条件下,线纹海马幼鱼的氨氮半致死浓度,以及6、9、12 mg·L-1的氨氮溶液胁迫下线纹海马幼鱼的鳃、肝脏组织结构的变化。结果表明:正常溶解氧条件下,氨氮对线纹海马幼鱼96 h半致死浓度(96 h LC50)为10.22 mg·L-1,安全浓度(SC)为1.02 mg·L-1;非离子氨的半致死浓度(96 h LC50)为0.16 mg·L-1,安全浓度(SC)为0.016 mg·L-1;高溶解氧条件下,氨氮对幼鱼的96 h LC50为12.68 mg·L-1,SC为1.27 mg·L-1;非离子氨96 h LC50为0.2 mg·L-1,SC为0.02mg·L-1。氨氮胁迫造成线纹海马幼鱼鳃组织在不同时间出现鳃丝血管扩张、泌氯细胞增生,鳃小片基部毛细血管破裂、红细胞溢出、鳃组织充血变性、卷曲变短、呼吸上皮细胞变性脱落等现象,并使肝脏肝细胞出现肿胀、细胞核肿大,肝血窦扩张、细胞轮廓模糊等组织变化;随着胁迫物浓度和胁迫时间增加,肝组织出现水样变性、空泡化、溶解,导致肝组织变得松散无序。综上,适当提高溶解氧能有效减轻氨氮对线纹海马幼鱼的毒性,超过阈值的氨氮胁迫会损害线纹海马幼鱼的鳃和肝脏组织结构。  相似文献

An endophytic actinomycete strain Fq24 was isolated from healthy tomato plants. The acaricidal substances in the metabolites from Fq24 were collected and identified by the methods of extraction, column chromatography, and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), and their bioactivities against Tetranychus cinnabarinus were measured with slide-dip and leaf-residue methods. Among the extracts, petroleum ether extract had high bioactivity in contact toxicity and oviposition deterrent against T. cinnabarinus. Its lethal concentration of 50% (LC50) was 52.57 mg x L(-1), and its oviposition deterrent concentration of 50% (ODC50) was 43.18 mg x L(-1). The identification with GC-MS showed that the main chemical component of fraction S11 was methyl hexadecanoate, whose molecular formula was C17H34O2, being one of the substances with acaricidal activity in the metabolites from Fq24. The 24 h corrected mortality rate of female mite at 5 mg x mL(-1) of methyl hexadecanoate was 78.3%, and the oviposition deterrent rate was 81.6%.  相似文献
