The influence of vetiver grass (Vetiveria zizanioides) on the fate of endosulfan was studied using a vertisol and a lixisol soils from cotton-growing areas of Burkina Faso. Endosulfan adsorption isotherms were prepared for planted and unplanted soils. Pot experiments were then conducted for six months. For both soils, endosulfan adsorption was higher on planted soils (Kf= 6.53–9.73 mg1–nLnkg–1) than on unplanted soils (6.27–7.24 mg1–nLnkg–1). In unplanted soils, vertisol adsorbed more endosulfan than lixisol. From the pot experiments, the estimated half-lives of endosulfan in unplanted soils (40.6 to 43.1 days) were higher than in planted soils (34.5 to 40.6 days) containing a greater number of endosulfan-degrading microorganisms. Six months after treatment, endosulfan was not detected in soils. The effectiveness of vetiver in promoting adsorption and the disappearance of endosulfan in both studied soils should be validated on the cotton plot scale in Burkina Faso.  相似文献

Carbon dioxide consumption during soil development   总被引:5,自引:1,他引:4
Carbon is sequestered in soils by accumulation of recalcitrant organic matter and by bicarbonate weathering of silicate minerals. Carbon fixation by ecosystems helps drive weathering processes in soils and that in turn diverts carbon from annual photosynthesis-soil respiration cycling into the long-term geological carbon cycle. To quantify rates of carbon transfer during soil development in moist temperate grassland and desert scrubland ecosystems, we measured organic and inorganic residues derived from the interaction of soil biota and silicate mineral weathering for twenty-two soil profiles in arkosic sediments of differing ages. In moist temperate grasslands, net annual removal of carbon from the atmosphere by organic carbon accumulation and silicate weathering ranges from about 8.5 g m–2 yr–1 for young soils to 0.7 g M–2 yr–1 for old soils. In desert scrublands, net annual carbon removal is about 0.2 g m–2 yr–1 for young soils and 0.01 g m–2 yr–1 for old soils. In soils of both ecosystems, organic carbon accumulation exceeds CO2 removal by weathering, however, as soils age, rates of CO2 consumption by weathering accounts for greater amounts of carbon sequestration, increasing from 2% to 8% in the grassland soils and from 2% to 40% in the scrubland soils. In soils of desert scrublands, carbonate accumulation far outstrips organic carbon accumulation, but about 90% of this mass is derived from aerosolic sources that do not contribute to long-term sequestration of atmospheric carbon dioxide.  相似文献

To determine the fate of atmospheric ammonium in forest soils, one calcareous and two acid forest soils were incubated with 15N ammonium. In the calcareous soil about 65% of the applied 15N-ammonium was recovered as nitrate after 98 days of incubation, whereas in the acid soils less than 10% of the 15N-ammonium was converted to nitrate. In all soils a large proportion of the 15N was incorporated in organic nitrogen compounds. This incorporation limits the use of 15N tracers for the elucidation of the fate of atmospheric ammonium in soils.  相似文献

Studies were conducted to compare N mineralization rates in salt-amended nonsaline soils to naturally-occurring saline soils. NaCl, CaCl2, and Na2SO4 were added to nonsaline soils at rates that produced electrical conductivities of the saturation extracts (ECe) of 5, 10, 15, and 20 dS m−1. Saline soils with similar properties were leached to the same ECc levels. N mineralization in the Chino soil was inhibited by salt addition, particularly with sodium and calcium chlorides. In the Domino soil there was some inhibition of N mineralization with the chloride salts, but enhancement with Na2SO4 was observed. Nitrification in both soils was more sensitive to salt addition than ammonification. N mineralization occurred more slowly in both leached saline soils compared to the salt-amended soils. Leached saline soils often accumulated greater amounts of inorganic N compared to their native saline counterparts, particularly with the 5 dS m−1 Chino soil (native, 44 dS m−1) and with the 5, 10, 15 and 20 dS m−1 Domino soils (native, 32 dS m−1). Kinetic parameters were estimated by the linear least squares (LLS) and the nonlinear least squares (NLLS) methods. Generally, the LLS transformation estimated greater values of potentially mineralizable N (No) and lower rate constants (k). With the NLLS equation, No values for the leached saline soils were usually lower, and k values usually higher than in the salt-amended soils. The nonsaline controls generally had the highest No and lowest k estimates. Average LLS rate constants for the salt-amended and leached saline soils were 0.055 and 0.083 for the Chino, and 0.104 and 0.137 week−1, respectively, for the Domino soils. With the NLLS equation, average k values for the salt-amended and leached saline soils were 0.087 and 0.089 for the Chino, and 0.181 and 0.387 week−1, respectively, for the Domino soils. These results suggest that N mineralization rates obtained in salt-amended nonsaline soils may not be representative of those in naturally-occurring saline soils.  相似文献

Native prairie and grassland soils are known to accumulate little inorganic N; however, N03 is constantly being formed and re-immobilized. This suggests that microorganisms in prairie soils would be highly efficient in the assimilation of N03 and would regularly have the assimilatory N03 reductase (ANR) enzyme in an induced and active state. Aerated slurries and static systems prepared from prairie and cultivated soils amended with glucose and N03 were observed for changes in N03 concentration with time. Nitrate assimilation in the presence of glucose occurred more rapidly in cultivated than in prairie soils from the same soil map unit. Nitrate assimilation rates were not affected by inoculation of prairie soil with cultivated soil. It has been reported that the addition of glucose and NO3 to soils results in increased peptidase activity and a release of free amino acids. Mixing, sieving, and slurrying of prairie soils followed by treatment with glucose and NO3 may release free amino acids and other ANR inhibitors into the prairie soil slurries. Prairie soils had higher concentrations of soluble amino-N than cultivated soils with or without glucose and N03 additions. Prairie soils also had greater concentrations of total Kjeldahl N and readily hydrolyzed amino acids than corresponding cultivated soils.  相似文献

Tracer Analysis of Methanogenesis in Salt Marsh Soils   总被引:11,自引:10,他引:1       下载免费PDF全文
Differences in paths of carbon flow have been found in soils of the tall (TS) and short (SS) Spartina alterniflora marshes of Sapelo Island, Ga. Gaseous end products of [U-14C]glucose metabolism were 14CO2 and 14CH4 in the SS region and primarily 14CO2 in the TS region. Sulfate concentration did not demonstrably affect glucose catabolism or the distribution of end products in either zone. [U-14C]acetate was converted to 14CO2 and 14CH4 in the SS soils and almost exclusively to 14CO2 in the TS soils. Sulfate concentration did not affect acetate metabolism in the SS soils; however, a noticeable effect of sulfate dilution was seen in TS soils. Sulfate dilution in TS samples resulted in increased methane formation. Total glucose and acetate metabolism were similar in TS and SS soils despite differences in end products. A microbial community characterized by fermentative/sulfate-reducing processes has developed in TS soils as opposed to the fermentative/methanogenic/sulfate-reducing community found in SS soils.  相似文献

Topsoil organic carbon storage of China and its loss by cultivation   总被引:40,自引:0,他引:40
Topsoil is very sensitive to human disturbance under the changing climate. Estimates of topsoil soil organic carbon (SOC) pool may be crucial for understanding soil C dynamics under human land uses and soil potential of mitigating the increasing atmospheric CO2 by soil C sequestration. China is a country with long history of cultivation. In this paper, we present an estimate of topsoil SOC pool and cultivation-induced pool reduction of China soils based upon the data of all the soil types identified in the 2nd national soil survey conducted during 1979–1982. The area of cultivated soils of China amounted to 138 × 106 ha while the uncultivated soils occupied 740 × 106 ha in 1980. Topsoil SOC density ranged from 0.77 to 1489 t Cha−1 in uncultivated soils and 3.52 to 591 t Cha−1 in cultivated soils with the average being 50 ± 47 t Cha−1 and 35 ± 32 t Cha−1, respectively. Geographically, the maximum mean topsoil SOC density was found in northeastern China, being of 70 ± 104 t Cha−1 for uncultivated soils and of 57 ± 54 t Cha−1 for cultivated soils, respectively. The lowest topsoil SOC density for uncultivated soils was found in East China, being of 38 ± 33 t Cha−1 and that for cultivated soils in North China, being of 30 ± 30 t Cha−1. There is still uncertainty in estimating the total topsoil SOC of uncultivated soils because a large portion of them was not surveyed during the 2nd Soil Survey. However, an estimate of total SOC for cultivated soils amounted to 5.1 Pg. On average, cultivation of China’s soils had induced a decrease of SOC density of 15 t Cha−1 giving rise to an overall pool reduction at 2 Pg. This is significantly smaller than the total SOC pool decline of 7 Pg due to cultivation of natural soils in China reported by Wu et al. (Glob. Change Biol. 2003, 9: 305–315), who made a pool estimation of whole soil profile assuming 1 m depth for all soils. As the mean topsoil SOC density of China was lower than the world average value given by Batjes (J. Soil Sci. 1996, 47: 151–163), China may be considered as a country with low SOC density and may have great potential for C sequestration under well defined management. However, the dynamics of topsoil C storage in China agricultural soils since 1980’s and the effects of modern agricultural developments on C dynamics need further study for elucidating the role of China agriculture in global climatic change.  相似文献

Soil organic matter not only affects soil properties and productivity but also has an essential role in global carbon (C) cycle. We studied changes in the topsoil C content of Finnish croplands using a dataset produced in nationwide soil monitoring. The monitoring network consisting of fields on both mineral and organic soils was established in 1974 and resampled in 1987, 1998, and 2009. Over the monitoring period from 1974 to 2009, cultivated soils showed a continuous decline in C concentration (g kg?1). In organic soils, C concentration decreased at a mean rate of 0.2–0.3% yr?1 relative to the existing C concentration. In mineral soils, the relative decrease was 0.4% yr?1 corresponding to a C stock (kg m?2) loss of 220 kg ha?1 yr?1. The change in management practices in last decades toward increasing cultivation of annual crops has contributed to soil C losses noted in this study. The results, however, suggest that the C losses result partly from other processes affecting cultivated soils such as climatic change or the continuing long‐term effect of forest clearance. We estimated that Finnish cropland soils store 161 Tg carbon nationwide in the topmost 15 cm of which 117 Tg is in mineral soils. C losses from mineral soils can therefore total up to 0.5 Tg yearly.  相似文献

In order to evaluate the combined effects of drip irrigation and petroleum extraction activities on As contamination and distribution in local soils, a total of 141 soil and 30 groundwater (GW) samples from field sites drip-irrigated with GW in Kuitun, Xinjiang, China were collected and analyzed arsenic (As) levels. Soil As levels ranged from 6.74 to 23.10 mg·kg?1. For the field irrigated with As-loaded GW for 0.5-10 years, As levels in soils increased by 0.50-9.10 mg·kg?1 as compared with the control soils. As levels in all top-layer (0-10 cm in thickness) irrigated soils A (0-5 cm away from dripper) were found to be higher than those in top-layer irrigated soils B (5-10 cm away from dripper). It was estimated that As in agricultural soils increased by approximately 11~3789 g·yr?1·ha?1 under drip irrigating, most of which in top-layer soils covering the plant roots. The widely used drip irrigation system in Kuitun enhanced the ecological and human-health threats of As via affecting its spread into soils. Furthermore, the petroleum exploiting activity further promoted As levels in local soils. Within a distance of 10~1000 m away from petroleum exploiting sites, the soil As level decreases significantly with the distance.  相似文献

We obtained soil samples from geographically diverse switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.) and sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.) crop sites and from nearby reference grasslands and compared their edaphic properties, microbial gene diversity and abundance, and active microbial biomass content. We hypothesized that soils under switchgrass, a perennial, would be more similar to reference grassland soils than sorghum, an annual crop. Sorghum crop soils had significantly higher NO3 ? -N, NH4 + -N, SO4 2? -S, and Cu levels than grassland soils. In contrast, few significant differences in soil chemistry were observed between switchgrass crop and grassland soils. Active bacterial biomass was significantly lower in sorghum soils than switchgrass soils. Using GeoChip 4.0 functional gene arrays, we observed that microbial gene diversity was significantly lower in sorghum soils than grassland soils. Gene diversity at sorghum locations was negatively correlated with NO3 ? -N, NH4 + -N, and SO4 2? -S in C and N cycling microbial gene categories. Microbial gene diversity at switchgrass sites varied among geographic locations, but crop and grassland sites tended to be similar. Microbial gene abundance did not differ between sorghum crop and grassland soils, but was generally lower in switchgrass crop soils compared to grassland soils. Our results suggest that switchgrass has fewer adverse impacts on microbial soil ecosystem services than cultivation of an annual biofuel crop such as sorghum. Multi-year, multi-disciplinary regional studies comparing these and additional annual and perennial biofuel crop and grassland soils are recommended to help define sustainable crop production and soil ecosystem service practices.  相似文献

Many terrestrial soils in the US Midwest are temporally flooded during the spring. The effects of short-term flooding on biogeochemical processes that occur in these soils are not fully understood and are the subject of this study. To evaluate these processes we investigated the redox-induced changes in the soil solution for three-cultivated and three-uncultivated/forest soils with different organic matter concentrations. The soils were flooded for 1, 3, 7, and 14-days under anoxic conditions in a biogeochemical reactor. Samples were analyzed for Eh; pH; NO3 ?; NH4 +; total dissolved Mn and Fe; soluble P; dissolved organic and inorganic carbon (DOC–DIC); and evolved CO2. We found strongly contrasting responses of the terrestrial soils to flooding. Reducing conditions were established quickly in the uncultivated and more slowly in the cultivated soils. Concomitant changes in pH were higher for the uncultivated soils. The uncultivated soils showed a higher increase in the amount of NH4 +, P, Fe, Mn than the cultivated soils over the 14-day incubation. The total amount of carbon decomposed was much greater for the uncultivated soils with approximately 900 μg C (CO2 + DOC + DIC) decomposed per gram of soil compared to a total decomposition of 240 μg C g soil ?1 for the cultivated soils indicating differences in the type of carbon decomposed. The rapid onset of reducing conditions for the uncultivated soils is attributed to a reactive carbon component that is either absent or occluded in the cultivated soils. This study demonstrates that the biogeochemically-induced changes in carbon dynamics in terrestrial soils are strongly influenced by short-term flooding and the history of soil management.  相似文献

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are ubiquitous pollutants of the environment. But is their microbial degradation equally wide in distribution? We estimated the PAH degradation capacity of 13 soils ranging from pristine locations (total PAHs ≈ 0.1 mg kg?1) to heavily polluted industrial sites (total PAHs ≈ 400 mg kg?1). The size of the pyrene- and phenanthrene-degrading bacterial populations was determined by most probable number (MPN) enumeration. Densities of phenanthrene degraders reflected previous PAH exposure, whereas pyrene degraders were detected only in the most polluted soils. The potentials for phenanthrene and pyrene degradation were measured as the mineralization of 14C-labeled spikes. The time to 10% mineralization of added 14C phenanthrene and 14C pyrene was inversely correlated with the PAH content of the soils. Substantial 14C phenanthrene mineralization in all soils tested, including seven unpolluted soils, demonstrated that phenanthrene is not a suitable model compound for predicting PAH degradation in soils. 14C pyrene was mineralized by all Danish soil samples tested, regardless of whether they were from contaminated sites or not, suggesting that in industrialized areas the background level of pyrene is sufficient to maintain pyrene degradation traits in the gene pool of soil microorganisms. In contrast, two pristine forest soils from northern Norway and Ghana mineralized little 14C pyrene within the 140-day test period. Mineralization of phenanthrene and pyrene by all Danish soils suggests that soil microbial communities of inhabited areas possess a sufficiently high PAH degradation capacity to question the value of bioaugmentation with specific PAH degraders for bioremediation.  相似文献

Two methods of measuring mineralization rates were compared for their ability to quantify the microbiol mineralization of organic compounds in soils. In each of three soils used, the serum bottles gave higher yields for the mineralization of both [14C]glucose and [14C]cellulose (lignocellulose) than the double vials. In two of the soils, the serum bottles also showed less variation between replicates than the double vials. Furthermore, the mineralization of glucose in the serum bottles fit a first order rate model, whereas the mineralization of glucose in the double vials showed best fit to a linear model. Results using different amounts of soils indicated that container geometry may have placed unfavorable restrictions upon the double vial system, lowering the yield of 14CO2 from the soils. Therefore, the serum bottle method was found to be the better method for measuring mineralization rates in soils.  相似文献

Use of copper-based fungicides has led to an increase in the total Cu content in agriculture soils. The focus of this study was to determine fractionation of Cu and to investigate the structure and the diversity of cultivable bacterial communities in two vineyards (one 25 years old and one 2 years old), one olive orchard and two forest soils. All soils developed on an Oligocene sandstone. The concentration of total Cu in the old vineyard (176.6 mg kg−1) and olive orchard (145.5–296.7 mg kg−1) was from 5 to 10 times higher than in forest soils. The major amount of Cu was found bound to the humic substances in cultivated soils, whereas in forest soils Cu was found in the residual mineral fraction. A relationship was found between the number of cultivable Cu-tolerant bacteria and total Cu content in soil. In the cultivated soils, Cu had a toxicological effect on bacterial community, and thereby Cu-levels > to 145 mg kg−1 could be a risk to soil biota. Microbial communities were analysed by community level physiological profiling (CLPP), using the Biolog system, and by the amplified ribosomal DNA restriction analysis (ARDRA) approach. Only when cell suspensions containing 104 colony-forming units (c.f.u.) were inoculated in each well of Biolog EcoPlates it was possible to discriminate microbial communities from different soil samples. As expected, 16S ARDRA showed that cultivated soils had a lower microbial diversity in respect to forest soils.  相似文献

Deforestation in the tropics seems to be a serious problem probably because of the reduction in soil CEC and the consequent losses of nutrients from the soils. Here, changes in these parameters as influenced by deforestation as well as vegetative cover were studied; statistical methods were applied to interpret the results. Cultivation causes a significant reduction in CEC, total content of the exchangeable bases and exchangeable Ca2+ and Mg2+ levels compared to the adjoining unmanaged forest land. Levels of exchangeable K+ and Na+, however, do not change significantly. Evergreen forest soils have the highest levels of CEC, total exchangeable bases, exchangeable Ca2+ and K+. Deciduous forest, grassland and cultivated soils have statistically similar contents of exchangeable Ca2+, Mg2+, K+ and Na+. Exchangeable Mg2+, however, is not affected by vegetative cover. Soil CEC shows fairly good correlation with the organic carbon content only in evergreen forest soils. In others, organic carbon apparently does not influence CEC significantly. All soils show excellent correlation between their CEC and total exchangeable bases. It is concluded that for regeneration of weathered tropical soils, an evergreen cover provides the most effective means; deciduous vegetation or grass cover do not seem promising.  相似文献

Abundance and Diversity of Viruses in Six Delaware Soils   总被引:9,自引:3,他引:6       下载免费PDF全文
The importance of viruses in marine microbial ecology has been established over the past decade. Specifically, viruses influence bacterial abundance and community composition through lysis and alter bacterial genetic diversity through transduction and lysogenic conversion. By contrast, the abundance and distribution of viruses in soils are almost completely unknown. This study describes the abundance and diversity of autochthonous viruses in six Delaware soils: two agricultural soils, two coastal plain forest soils, and two piedmont forest soils. Viral abundance was measured using epifluorescence microscopy, while viral diversity was assessed from morphological data obtained through transmission electron microscopy. Extracted soil virus communities were dominated by bacteriophages that demonstrated a wide range of capsid diameters (20 nm to 160 nm) and morphologies, including filamentous forms and phages with elongated capsids. The reciprocal Simpson's index suggests that forest soils harbor more diverse assemblages of viruses, particularly in terms of morphological distribution. Repeated extractions of virus-like particles (VLPs) from soils indicated that the initial round of extraction removes approximately 70% of extractable viruses. Higher VLP abundances were observed in forest soils (1.31 × 109 to 4.17 × 109 g−1 dry weight) than in agricultural soils (8.7 × 108 to 1.1 × 109 g−1 dry weight). Soil VLP abundance was significantly correlated to moisture content (r = 0.988) but not to soil texture. Land use (agricultural or forested) was significantly correlated to both bacterial (r = 0.885) and viral (r = 0.812) abundances, as were soil organic matter and water content. Thus, land use is a significant factor influencing viral abundance and diversity in soils.  相似文献

Summary The sulphide-ion electrode was used to study the kinetics and reactions of free hydrogen sulphide in solution of flooded rice soils. The observed sulphide potential obeyed the Nernst equation over a range of sulphide-ion concentration from 10-1 to 10-19 M. Peak H2S concentrations were lowest in neutral soils high in iron and manganese; moderately high in soils low in iron or high in organic matter; and highest in acid sulphate soil low in iron. Harmful concentrations of H2S may be present in acid sulphate and acid soils low in iron during the first few weeks after flooding. The concentrations in acid sulphate soils can be drastically lowered by liming. There was thermodynamic evidence for the presence of FeS and ZnS in the solutions of most soils.  相似文献

Understanding soil organic carbon (SOC) sequestration is important to develop strategies to increase the SOC stock and, thereby, offset some of the increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide. Although the capacity of soils to store SOC in a stable form is commonly attributed to the fine (clay + fine silt) fraction, the properties of the fine fraction that determine the SOC stabilization capacity are poorly known. The aim of this study was to develop an improved model to estimate the SOC stabilization capacity of Allophanic (Andisols) and non‐Allophanic topsoils (0–15 cm) and, as a case study, to apply the model to predict the sequestration potential of pastoral soils across New Zealand. A quantile (90th) regression model, based on the specific surface area and extractable aluminium (pyrophosphate) content of soils, provided the best prediction of the upper limit of fine fraction carbon (FFC) (i.e. the stabilization capacity), but with different coefficients for Allophanic and non‐Allophanic soils. The carbon (C) saturation deficit was estimated as the difference between the stabilization capacity of individual soils and their current C concentration. For long‐term pastures, the mean saturation deficit of Allophanic soils (20.3 mg C g?1) was greater than that of non‐Allophanic soils (16.3 mg C g?1). The saturation deficit of cropped soils was 1.14–1.89 times that of pasture soils. The sequestration potential of pasture soils ranged from 10 t C ha?1 (Ultic soils) to 42 t C ha?1 (Melanic soils). Although meeting the estimated national soil C sequestration potential (124 Mt C) is unrealistic, improved management practices targeted to those soils with the greatest sequestration potential could contribute significantly to off‐setting New Zealand's greenhouse gas emissions. As the first national‐scale estimate of SOC sequestration potential that encompasses both Allophanic and non‐Allophanic soils, this serves as an informative case study for the international community.  相似文献

Fate of urea-N in floodwater   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
One day after application, urea-N remaining in the floodwater and determined as water-soluble N (urea-N + NH4 +-N) was used to calculate the potential N loss from lowland rice soils. Actual N loss calculated from 15N balance measurements using forced air exchange (airflow rate: 20 L min-1) in greenhouse pots. Conditions for variable potential N loss were created by manipulating the method of urea application and duration of presubmergence or by selecting soils with diverse cation exchange capacities (CEC). Potential N loss tended to be lower than actual N loss; the differences were, however, nonsignificant. The method of urea application that led to the lowest potential N loss from a Guthrie silty clay loam (Typic Fragiaquult) also led to the least 15N loss and vice-versa (r=0.99**). Duration of presubmergence did not alter the relationship between potential and actual N loss although it influenced the rate of urea hydrolysis in floodwater. The primary depencence of actual N loss on water-soluble N was maintained in soils differing in CEC (r=0.83**). The association between potential and actual N loss was closer for high-CEC soils ( 20 cmol [+] kg-1 soil, r=0.91**) than for low-CEC soils (<20 cmol [+] kg-1 soil, r=0.85**). Ammonia volatilization could be more closely predicted by potential N loss than could apparent denitrification. The results of this study suggest that potential N loss calculated from one-time determination of water-soluble N in floodwater can be a good index of actual N loss from flooded, puddled rice soils. Notable exceptions are to be expected for soils in which water-soluble N gets lost from floodwater either before (soils with fast urea hydrolysis in floodwater) or after (soils with steady leaching) determination of potential N loss.  相似文献

Summary The response of barley to phosphate application and the effect of applied phosphorus on the uptake of soil zinc by the crop were tested in pot, Neubauer and incubaticn experiments on four soils differing in native phosphate status. There was a response of the yield to phosphorus application in alluvial soils from Clementina (Ecuador) and Bangla Desh. Barley grown on red soil from Bangla Desh and glacial clay from Uppsala did not show any response to P application.Applied P32 was fixed to a great extent in all the soils studied. But in phosphate-deficient soils, a much higher degree of sorption of P32 was recorded than in phosphate-rich soils. Compared to phosphate-rich soils, the utilization of fertilizer phosphorus is higher than of native soil P in the case of phosphate-deficient soils. It was observed that uptake of Zn65 by the crop is counteracted by phosphorus application at the three stages of crop growth studied. This work was financially supported by the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna, Austria, and by the National Council for Forestry and Agricultural Research, Sweden.  相似文献
