Summary On the basis of pot experiments carried out on soils with different Mg contents using ryegrass, it could be established that Mg uptake by ryegrass is closely related to Mg in the EUF extracts. The Mg contents in the EUF extracts are therefore suitable indices of actually and potentially available Mg in soils.The ratio between Mg in the EUF extracts and Mg deposited on the electrode + filter varies. The absolute amount of Mg in the EUF extracts increases with increasing Mg content of the soils. The higher, however, the total desorbable Mg the lower are the Mg contents in the EUF extracts in comparison with the Mg contents deposited on electrode + filter. Besides total desorbable Mg the EUF-Mg fractions are influenced as well by the organic and inorganic CEC and by soil pH. The amount of EUF filtrate flowing through filter and electrode also has an influence on the amount of Mg in the EUF filtrate.Consequently for a proper evaluation of available soil Mg total EUF-Mg (Mg in the EUF filtrate + Mg deposited on electrode + filter) should be used.  相似文献

Summary Electro-ultrafiltration (EUF) and quantity/intensity (Q/I) parameters of soil K were compared for 14 soils from each of three soil series. The K desorbed by EUF during the first 10 min (K10) was closely correlated with the equilibrium activity ratio (AR0) for soils of the same series, but differences between series reflected the soil K-buffering capacity, indicating that K10 includes loosely held exchangeable K and is not strictly an intensity measurement. EUF values were compared with conventional soil test methods for predicting K-uptake and dry-matter yield of ryegrass grown in the glasshouse. Correlation coefficients between K uptake at the first cut were 0.80 for K10, 0.88 for Ka (the initially labile K derived from the Q/I curve), 0.92 for K35 (desorbed by EUF in 35 min) and 0.97 for Kex (1.0M ammonium acetate extraction).  相似文献

湖南烟区土壤交换性钙、镁含量及对烤烟品质的影响   总被引:28,自引:0,他引:28  
分析了湖南烟区主要土壤类型交换性钙、镁元素含量状况及其对烟叶品质的影响,结果表明:(1)土壤交换性钙、镁含量在不同土壤类型间存在显著性差异,交换性钙含量平均为8.87cmol/kg,以红壤含量最高;交换性镁含量平均为1.16cmol/kg,以黄棕壤含量最高;交换性钙镁比值大小依次为:红壤(11.74)>水稻土(10.25)>黄壤(6.84)>黄棕壤(6.14),在烟叶实际生产中,应重视镁肥在红壤和水稻土中的施用;(2)烟叶钙含量偏高(21.93g/kg±4.37g/kg),烟叶镁含量偏低(2.52g/kg±1.26g/kg),两者均存在广泛的变异性;(3)整体来看,烟叶钙含量随土壤中交换性钙含量的升高和镁含量的降低而显著升高;烟叶镁含量随土壤交换性镁含量的升高而升高,与土壤交换性钙含量的相关性不显著;(4)典型相关分析表明,土壤中交换性镁含量的降低可能引起烟叶钾含量的提高,从而使得烟叶钾素和镁素含量达到较好的平衡;(5)土壤交换性钙、镁含量与烟叶其它化学成分指标的相关分析表明,土壤交换性钙有利于烟株对硼和氯素的吸收,对氮、锌和锰素的吸收则有显著的抑制作用;而土壤交换性镁有利于烟叶总糖、硼素和锰素的积累,对氮、磷、铁和锌素的吸收具有显著的抑制作用。  相似文献

We confirmed the suitability of electro-ultrafiltration (EUF) for (a) determination of the distribution of potassium fertilizer among the various forms of potassium in soils with a predominance of micaceous minerals in their clay fraction, and (b) investigated the effects of the degree of openness of the dominant micaceous mineral and of incubation time on the kinetics of the EUF extraction of K from these soils.Samples of illitic, mixed-layer and vermiculitic soils from Galicia (N.W. Spain) were incubated at field capacity for 450 days with 0 (blank), 5,15 or 25 mg K (as KCl) per 100 g dry soil. After 1, 30, 150 and 450 days, subsamples were removed and repeatedly extracted using electro-ultrafiltration at low (20° C/200 V) and then high (80° C/400 V) temperature/voltage (6 and 10 five-minute extractions, respectively). Five different pools of K were identified: solution K (Ks), surface and internal K (collectively, Kp), slowly exchangeable K (Ke) and non-exchangeable K (Ki). The effects of increasing the incubation time depended on the dominant clay mineralogy: after 450 days, the K added to illitic soils was mostly solution K, whereas that added to vermiculitic soils was mostly internal K.For both low and high temperature/voltage EUF experiments, the extraction-time data were best fitted by the Elovich equation (extracted K=a+b ln t). Magnesium (Mg) is known as one of the essential nutrients for higher plants; yet, the preliminary physiological responses of field crops to its deficiency or excess, particularly to its interaction with potassium (K), remain largely unknown. In this study, we observed that Mg deficiency in rice (Oryza sativa) [less than 1.1 mg g?1 dry weight (DW) in the shoot] resulted in significant reduction in shoot biomass, decrease in total chlorophyll concentration and net photosynthetic rate and reduction in activities of both nitrate reductase [NR; enzyme classification (EC) 1.6.6.1] and glutamine synthetase (EC 6.3.1.2) in the leaves. However, the Mg‐deficient plant contained higher starch in the leaves, and partitioned larger biomass into roots. Excess of Mg (more than 3.0 mg g?1 DW in the shoot), together with low K supply, suppressed NR activity and decreased concentration of soluble sugar in the leaves. There were great antagonistic and moderately synergistic effects between K and Mg, but the effects of K were much more significant than those of Mg on their uptake and translocation, NR activity and net photosynthetic rate in the leaves. The optimum weight ratio of K to Mg ranged between 22 and 25 in the leaves at tillering stage. Mg deficiency was not compensated for by moderate supply of K but was aggravated by excess supply of K, suggesting specific roles of Mg in both dry matter production and partition of carbon assimilates in rice.  相似文献

Summary A greenhouse investigation was undertaken to study and evaluate the use of a short-term nutrient-absorption technique for evaluating soil magnesium status. Barley (Hordeum vulgare), variety Arivat, was used as the test plant. The investigation included four experiments with the following objectives: (1) to determine the need for base applications of nitrogen and phosphorus in a soil-magnesium study using a short-term nutrient absorption technique; (2) to study the effect of base applications of N and P on Mg-uptake by plants under three time periods of root-soil contact; (3) to study the effect of increasing soil moisture from 75 to 100 per cent of the soil moisture equivalent on the plant uptake of Mg; and (4) to evaluate the short-term nutrient-absorption technique in determining the magnesium status in six different soils: Gila silt loam, Tours silty clay loam, Cajon clay loam, La Palma fine sandy loam, Yavapai sandy clay loam, and Casa Grande loam. Magnesium was applied in the form of MgSO4 and Sul-PO-Mag.Plant growth, potassium, calcium, and magnesium uptake were increased by the base application of nitrogen and phosphorus using a 7-day period of root-soil contact.Plant growth was not affected by soil moisture level. Potassium and calcium concentrations in the plant were decreased with increasing soil moisture, but the total plant uptake of these nutrients was not affected. Total plant uptake and concentration of magnesium were increased by increasing soil moisture level.The results obtained in this study agree with previous observations that soil response to Mg does not depend upon the amount of exchangeable magnesium in the soil.Published as Arizona Agr. Isolated beef heart mitochondria were treated with A23187 in the presence of different concentrations of Mg2+ or EDTA to establish varying levels of total mitochondrial Mg2+. The Mg2+ content was related to the rate of passive swelling of the mitochondria in potassium acetate and other potassium salts in which swelling is presumed to depend on K+ entry via an endogenous K+/H+ antiport. Swelling in these salts does not commence until Mg2+ has been depleted from an initial value of 36 nmol X mg-1 of protein to 8 nmol/mg-1, or less. Below this level, swelling increases linearly with decreasing Mg2+ to a maximum rate at 2 nmol of Mg2+ X mg-1. Rotenone-treated heart mitochondria suspended in 75 mM potassium acetate at pH 7.80 show no delta pH by 5,5-dimethyl-2,4-oxazolidinedione distribution. Distribution of methylamine also shows essentially no delta pH under these conditions when allowance is made for binding of [14C]methylamine by mitochondrial membranes under these conditions. Addition of A23187 results in a small and transient delta pH (delta pH less than 0.14, acid interior) as measured by methylamine distribution. Estimation of the maximum matrix free Mg2+ concentration from the maximum delta pH observed and the external free Mg2+ concentration at equilibrium with A23187 shows that swelling is not initiated until matrix free Mg2+ is decreased to below 150 microM. An independent estimate of free Mg2+ using a null-point procedure gives a lower, but quite similar value (50 microM) for maximum matrix free Mg2+ when swelling commences. The large depletion of total and free Mg2+ that is required to activate swelling in potassium acetate (and presumably K+/H+ antiport activity) does not appear to be compatible with previous indications that free Mg2+ acts as a "carrier brake" to regulate K+ extrusion from the mitochondrion on such an antiport (Garlid, K. D. (1980) J. Biol. Chem. 255, 11273-11279). The removal of a tightly bound component of mitochondrial Mg2+ is closely related to increased K+ permeability and increased passive swelling in potassium salts. This Mg2+ appears to play a role in the maintenance of mitochondrial membrane structure and integrity.  相似文献

Summary The effects of 96 combinations of nitrogen, potassium and magnesium were studied in four tomato crops grown in peat. Yield responses were found to each of these nutrients. In a late-planted crop, nitrogen also increased the early yield.The nutrient contents of the leaves corresponding to maximum yield were 4.5–5.1% N, 4.4–5.6% K and 0.31–0.40% Mg.Yields increased with applied nitrogen until the peat contained 45–65 mg N/l and decreased at concentrations above 70 mg N/l. Maximum yields were achieved in two of the crops when the peat contained 330–430 mt K/l; in the other two crops 100 mg K/l sufficed, though this was insufficient for high quality fruit. A magnesium content of 250 mg Mg/l was fully adequate.A high proportion (>90%) of the extractable potassium in the peat was water-soluble, thus making a major contribution to the overall salinity.  相似文献

Summary The effects of temperature and soil moisture levels on the chemical composition of wheat forage grown in growth chambers were studied. In addition to the environmental variables, K and N fertilization effects were studied. In all the studies, increasing levels of K fertilization depressed the Mg and Ca concentration of the shoots. Nitrogen fertilization increased the Mg concentration but had no effect on the Ca concentration of the plants. N fertilization depressed the K concentration in the soil moisture experiment, but had no effect on K concentration in the temperature experiment. Increasing the temperature from 10 to 20°C did not affect the Mg and Ca concentration of the shoots, but the K concentration declined due to dilution effects caused by the greater yield at the higher temperature. In the soil moisture level experiment the K, Mg and Ca concentration in wheat tended to decline with soil moisture level due to dilution effects. Calculations showed that uptake of K was regulated primarily by diffusion of K from the soil to the plant root and that the uptake of Mg was regulated by the uptake process of the plant root and not by the nutrient transport process through the soil.This study was part of the program of the Center for Root-Soil Research. Dogwood anthracnose, a major disease of Cornus florida L., has caused heavy mortality of C. florida in eastern United States forests. Disease severity and rate of infection have been shown to vary with several environmental factors, but the link between soil cation availability and anthracnose has not been examined. We hypothesized that soil cation availability, particularly calcium (Ca), potassium (K), and magnesium (Mg), would influence dogwood survival from anthracnose. In forested stands, positive correlations between soil Ca, K, and Mg saturation and C. florida stem density and basal area were found. The effect of these cations at four levels (0, 50, 100, and 200%) of a standard nursery fertilization rate on C. florida seedling survival and resistance to dogwood anthracnose was tested. Although most of the seedlings died after one season of exposure to dogwood anthracnose, seedlings that had lower inputs of Ca and K cations showed higher levels of disease severity sooner than seedlings in other treatments, suggesting that these nutrients play a role in C. florida survival from anthracnose. Magnesium treatment levels did not appear to have an effect on C. florida disease severity or mortality.  相似文献

The effect of varied phosphorus (10 and 250 mmol P m–3potassium (50 and 2010 mmol K m–3) and magnesium (20 and1000 mmol Mg m–3 supply on sucrose, reducing sugars, aminoacids, P, K, and Mg in phloem exudate was studied in bean (Phaseolusvulgaris L.) plants over a 12 d growth period in nutrient solution.Phloem exudates were collected from detached primary leavesusing the EDTA-promoted exudation technique. Compared with controlnutrient-sufficient plants, sucrose export in the phloem exudatewas drastically decreased by K deficiency and, particularly,by Mg deficiency, whereas P deficiency either had no effector stimulated sucrose export. In Mg-deficient plants the rateof sucrose export was decreased to 10–20% of the controlplants. There was a close Inverse relationship between phloemexport and leaf concentration of sucrose: higher leaf concentrationsof sucrose were accompanied by lower phloem export of sucrose.In contrast to sucrose, reducing sugars in the exudates werevery low and not affected by P, K and Mg deficiency. The phloemexport of amino acids was strongly depressed by Mg deficiency,but only slightly by P and K deficiency. Resupplying Mg to Mg-deficientplants for 12 h during the dark or light periods rapidly stimulatedsucrose export. After resup ply of Mg for 24 h and 48 h therate of sucrose export was comparable with the rate in the controlplants. The results demonstrate a key role for Mg in phloem loadingand export of photosynthates from source leaves, especiallysucrose. Inhibition of root growth and development of visualsymptoms of chlorosis in Mg-deficient plants are suggested asconsequences of Impaired phloem loading. In agreement with thisin P-deficient plants where phloem loading was not impaired,chlorosis was absent and root growth was maintained at a highlevel. Summary Twenty-one representative soils from Northern Greece could be grouped into three categories based on the EUF-K curves which displayed marked differences in the magnitude of K release by the soils employed. The cumulative K desorption by EUF within 35 min and the cumulative K-uptake values of ryegrass (10 cuts) were found to be correlated (r=0.87***). Although this correlation is rather close, the K dynamics of a soil can be better characterized by the course of the K-desorption curves. Because the quotient EUF-K-80°C/EUF-K-20°C can give information on the course of K desorption it is therefore sufficient in routine investigations to know the EUF-K-20°C contents and the numerical values of the quotients EUF-K-80°C/EUF-K-20°C.The EUF procedure does not only indicate the close relationship between K extracted and K uptake by plants, but it can also provide information on other nutrients in the same soil sample. With this extra information it was possible to explain why in some of the analysed soils K uptake was low despite high K availability, the reason being that P availability was not optimal in one of the experimental soils and that the Mn concentration of the soil solution was too high in another. At equal K availability the K uptake was also dependent on the amount of EUF-extractable N.  相似文献

In the present work, separate and combined effects of excessive potassium and magnesium deficiency on safflower (Carthamus tinctorius) were studied. Four treatments were considered: C (control treatment: complete medium containing 1.5 mM Mg), +KCl (excessive potassium treatment: complete medium added with 60 mM KCl), ?Mg (Mg-deficient treatment: containing 0.1 mM Mg), and DS (double stress treatment: Mg-deficient medium (0.1 mM Mg) added with 60 mM KCl. Excessive potassium effect on plant growth was more pronounced than that of Mg deficiency. The two stresses impaired differently plant organs; KCl application affected more roots than shoots, whereas Mg deficiency reduced only leaf biomass. Gas exchange and pigment concentrations and patterns were severely impaired by KCl and mainly by interactive effects of the two stresses. This led to obvious lipid peroxidation and electrolyte leakage. Mg deficiency did not induce lipid peroxidation and electrolyte leakage, but as applied with excessive potassium, it doubled the effect of the latter. Mineral analyses showed that major cation nutrition was disturbed by KCl and combined stresses and at a lower level by magnesium deficiency. Plants did not show an enhanced selectivity of Mg and Ca over K but they improved their use efficiencies.  相似文献

1. Mg(2+)-limited Bacillus subtilis var. niger, growing in a chemostat in a simple salts medium, contained considerably more potassium and phosphorus than Mg(2+)-limited Aerobacter aerogenes growing in a similar medium at corresponding dilution rates. 2. Growth of the bacillus in a K(+)-limited environment did not lower the cellular potassium and phosphorus contents, the molar proportions of cell-bound magnesium, potassium, RNA (as nucleotide) and phosphorus being approximately constant at 1:13:5:13 (compared with 1:4:5:8 in Mg(2+)-limited or K(+)-limited A. aerogenes). 3. Growth of B. subtilis in a phosphate-limited environment caused the cellular phosphorus content to be lowered to a value similar to that of Mg(2+)-limited A. aerogenes, but the potassium content was not correspondingly lowered; the molar potassium:magnesium ratio varied from 14 to 17 with changes in dilution rate from 0.4 to 0.1hr.(-1). 4. Whereas over 70% of the cell-bound phosphorus of Mg(2+)-limited or K(+)-limited A. aerogenes was contained in the nucleic acids, these polymers accounted for less than 50% of the phosphorus present in similarly limited B. subtilis; much phosphorus was present in the walls of the bacilli, bound in a teichoic acid-type compound composed of glycerol phosphate and glucose (but no alanine). 5. Phosphate-limited B. subtilis cell walls (from organisms grown at a dilution rate of 0.2hr.(-1)) contained little phosphorus and no detectable amounts of teichoic acid, but 40% of the cell-wall dry weight could be accounted for by a teichuronic acid-type compound; this contained a glucuronic acid and galactosamine, neither of which could be detected in the walls of Mg(2+)-limited B. subtilis grown at a corresponding rate. 6. It is suggested that the high concentration of potassium in growing B. subtilis (compared with A. aerogenes) results from the presence of large amounts of anionic polymer (teichoic acid or teichuronic acid) in the bacillus cell walls.  相似文献

选用武育粳3号(粳稻)和扬稻6号(籼稻)两个水稻品种,利用人工气候室在水稻灌浆结实期进行控温试验,设置全结实期相对高温、结实前期相对高温、结实后期相对高温、全结实期适温(对照,日均温23 ℃)对照4个处理,探讨结实期不同时段相对高温(日均温度-30 ℃)对稻米淀粉粘滞性谱和Mg、K等元素含量的影响.结果表明:结实期相对高温使武育粳3号和扬稻6号淀粉粘滞性谱特征值发生改变,其中糊化开始温度、冷胶粘度、回复值和消减值升高,最高粘度、热浆粘度和崩解值下降;结实期相对高温促进了米粉中Mg、K、N含量的提高,特别是K含量的大幅提高,使稻米中Mg/K和Mg/(N·AC·K)明显降低;而2个水稻品种的直链淀粉含量(AC)对相对高温的反应截然相反,武育粳3号的AC降低、扬稻6号的AC升高.全结实期相对高温对稻米淀粉粘滞性谱和Mg、K等元素含量的影响最大,结实前期其次,结实后期的影响较小,开花后20 d内是稻米淀粉粘滞性谱和Mg、K等元素含量受温度影响的关键时期.Mg/K和Mg/(N·AC·K)与淀粉粘滞性谱特征值显著相关,可以作为稻米食味品质评价的参考指标.  相似文献

Rice plants with bronzing, collected from fields in central and southern Nigeria, where the soils consisted of Tropaquent, Tropaquult and Tropaquept, showed higher iron and lower potassium, phosphorus, and magnesium concentrations than plants with little or no bronzing. Pot experiments with the soils indicated that the severity of the bronzing was affected not only by the iron concentration in the shoots but also by the potassium concentration. The application of chloride compounds to the soil increased severity of the bronzing and lead to deterioration of growth, whereas the application of sulfate compounds was beneficial.The application of potassium sulfate reduced the severity of bronzing and increased the dry matter production of rice plants grown in the field. The concentration and accumulation of potassium in the shoots increased when the bronzing severity decreased and the iron concentration was decreased by the dilution effect caused by the increased dry matter production.  相似文献

In the ectomycorrhizal caesalpiniaceous groves of southern Korup National Park, the dominant tree species, Microberlinia bisulcata, displays very poor in situ recruitment compared with its codominant, Tetraberlinia bifoliolata. The reported ex situ experiment tested whether availabilities of soil potassium and magnesium play a role. Seedlings of the two species received applications of K and Mg fertilizer in potted native soil in a local shade house, and their responses in terms of growth and nutrient concentrations were recorded over 2 years. Amended soil concentrations were also determined. Microberlinia responded strongly and positively in its growth to Mg, but less to K; Tetraberlinia responded weakly to both. Added Mg led to strongly increased Mg concentration for Microberlinia while added K changed that concentration only slightly; Tetraberlinia strongly increased its concentration of K with added K, but only somewhat its Mg concentration with added Mg. Additions of Mg and K had small but important antagonistic effects. Microberlinia is Mg‐demanding and apparently Mg‐limited in Korup soil; Tetraberlinia, whilst K‐demanding, appeared not to be K‐limited (for growth). Added K enhanced plant P concentrations of both species. Extra applied Mg may also be alleviating soil aluminum toxicity, and hence improving growth indirectly and especially to the benefit of Microberlinia. Mg appears to be essential for Microberlinia seedling growth and its low soil availability in grove soils at Korup may be an important contributing factor to its poor recruitment. Microberlinia is highly shade‐intolerant and strongly light‐responding, whilst Tetraberlinia is more shade‐tolerant and moderately light‐responding, which affords an interesting contrast with respect to their differing responses to Mg supply. The study revealed novel aspects of functional traits and likely niche‐partitioning among ectomycorrhizal caesalps in African rain forests. Identifying the direct and interacting indirect effects of essential elements on tropical tree seedling growth presents a considerable challenge due the complex nexus of causes involved.  相似文献

The electro-ultrafiltration (EUF) method has been used to evaluate the short-term and long-term supplying power of soils for many essential plant nutrients. The objective of this study was to compare the capacity of EUF with other extraction techniques to predict the plant availability of soil K and K fertilizer responsiveness by 10 cuts of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) growing over a 366-day period. Increasingly higher average concentrations of soil K were extracted by EUF at 50 V and 20°C (29 mg kg-1), EUF at 200 V and 20°C (48 mg kg-1), 0.002 M SrCl2 (55 mg kg-1), EUF at 200 V and 80°C (85 mg kg-1), 0.1 M HCl (105 mg kg-1), Mehlich 3 (119 mg kg-1), 1 M NH4OAc (120 mg kg-1) and boiling 1 M HNO3 (601 mg kg-1). The large content of vermiculitic minerals in the silt and clay fractions is responsible for EUF desorbing more K in 55 minutes than NH4OAc in 29 out of 30 soils. The total amount of K desorbed by EUF at 80°C was as effective as Mehlich 3-extractable K in predicting K uptake for the first three cuts and was best among the extracting procedures after boiling 1 M HNO3 in predicting the long-term K supply, the uptake of K from non-exchangeable sources and the relative yield of alfalfa over 10 cuts. The desorption of soil K with EUF provides a better evaluation of the K-supplying power of Quebec soils than the extractants currently used, especially on a long-term basis.Contribution no. 396.  相似文献

采用盆栽试验,研究了在镉污染土壤上施用石灰、硫酸镁、硫酸锰和活性炭不同用量以及交互作用对小麦生长和吸收重金属镉的影响.研究结果表明,在试验条件下施用适量的硫酸镁、硫酸锰或与石灰配合能明显提高小麦籽粒产量,单施石灰或与活性炭配合施用降低了小麦籽粒产量;与对照(CK)相比,所有处理秸秆产量均下降.施用硫酸镁能显著降低小麦籽粒和秸秆中Cd浓度,且随用量的增加两增大.低量硫酸锰能有效降低小麦籽粒和秸秆中Cd浓度,高量反而增加小麦对Cd的吸收.石灰、活性炭单独施用或配合施用都能明显减少小麦对Cd的吸收,但籽/杆中Cd比却随石灰用量的增加呈明显的上升趋势.叶面喷施硫酸镁对降低小麦吸收镉的效果与土施相当,但叶面喷施硫酸锰却比土施硫酸锰显著降低了小麦籽粒中的镉浓度与吸收量.硫酸镁与硫酸锰,或石灰、硫酸镁和硫酸锰3种物质配合施用,对小麦籽粒镉浓度和吸收量的降低表现出明显的正交互作用,对抑制小麦体内镉从秸秆向籽粒的转移具有显著效果.  相似文献
