Arterial pressure (in the carotid artery determined by electromanometry) and total peripheral resistance (changes in the clear space of resistive arteries of the mesenterium, skeletal muscles and mammary glands measured by biotelemicroscopy) were studied in tumor-bearing animals (random bred, BALB/c and CBA mice with Ehrlich carcinoma). With the growth of hypodermic injected tumor, it has been shown that the arterial pressure first dropped and then there was a tendency towards normalization, but the pressure never reached the initial level. At the same time arterial dilatation took place, especially at the first stage of tumor growth. This shows the dependence of changes in arterial pressure on the clear space of resistive arteries. It was also revealed that changes in the vascular tone were connected with the functional disturbances of adrenoactive structures but not with reduced myocyte contractility. 相似文献

Threshold electrical reactions of single fibers from the ischiadic nerve of rats to mechanical stimulation and rectangle impulses of focused ultrasound have been compared with respect to the parameters of stimulation to the effect of focused ultrasound on the skin of human fingers evoking different sensations. It was concluded that low-threshold fibers may be associated with tactile reception, mean-threshold ones--with tactile and thermal, whereas high-threshold fibers may be referred to reception of specific skin pain. 相似文献

A simplified method allowed Staphylococcus aureus, Staph. intermedius and coagulase-positive Staph. hyicus subsp. hyicus isolated from humans, dogs, monkey, sheep, poultry, rabbits, giant rats (Cricetomys gambianus) and other animals to be serotyped. The nine coagulase-positive staphylococcal strains of human origin possessed thermolabile and thermostable agglutinogens. Two strains of Staph. intermedius of human and canine origins examined had agglutinogen K1K2. The three Staph. aureus strains isolated from African giant rats (Cricetomys gambianus) had agglutinogens a5 and P common to them. The Staph. aureus strain isolated from a monkey belonged to serotype b1, c1, o and the caprine strain of Staph. hyicus subsp. hyicus was serotype a5, c1. 相似文献

This study examined the effect of norepinephrine reuptake blockade with desipramine (DMI) on the spontaneous variability of the simultaneously recorded arterial pressure (AP) and renal sympathetic nerve activity (SNA) in conscious rats. Acute DMI administration (2 mg/kg iv) depressed AP Mayer waves ( approximately 0.4 Hz) and increased low-frequency (<0.2 Hz) components of AP variability. DMI decreased renal SNA variability, especially due to the abolition of oscillations related to Mayer waves. To examine whether DMI-induced changes in AP and renal SNA variabilities could be explained by alterations in the dynamic characteristics of the baroreceptor reflex loop, the frequency responses of mean AP to aortic depressor nerve stimulation were studied in urethan-anesthetized rats. DMI accentuated the low-pass filter properties of the transfer function without significantly altering the fixed time delay. The frequency responses of iliac vascular conductance to stimulation of the lumbar sympathetic chain were studied in an additional group of anesthetized rats. DMI did not markedly alter the low-pass filter properties of the transfer function and slightly increased the fixed time delay. These results suggest that the DMI-induced decrease in the dynamic gain of the baroreceptor reflex is responsible for the decreased spontaneous renal SNA variability and the accompanying increased AP variability. The "slowing down" of baroreflex responses cannot be attributed to an effect of DMI at the vascular neuroeffector junction. 相似文献

Animal studies suggest that nitric oxide (NO) plays an important role in buffering short-term arterial pressure variability, but data from humans addressing this hypothesis are scarce. We evaluated the effects of NO synthase (NOS) inhibition on arterial blood pressure (BP) variability in eight healthy subjects in the supine position and during 60 degrees head-up tilt (HUT). Systemic NOS was blocked by intravenous infusion of N(G)-monomethyl-L-arginine (L-NMMA). Electrocardiogram and beat-by-beat BP in the finger (Finapres) were recorded continuously for 6 min, and brachial cuff BP was recorded before and after L-NMMA in each body position. BP and R-R variability and their transfer functions were quantified by power spectral analysis in the low-frequency (LF; 0.05-0.15 Hz) and high-frequency (HF; 0.15-0.35 Hz) ranges. L-NMMA infusion increased supine BP (systolic, 109 +/- 4 vs. 122 +/- 3 mmHg, P = 0.03; diastolic, 68 +/- 2 vs. 78 +/- 3 mmHg, P = 0.002), but it did not affect supine R-R interval or BP variability. Before L-NMMA, HUT decreased HF R-R variability (P = 0.03), decreased transfer function gain (LF, 12 +/- 2 vs. 5 +/- 1 ms/mmHg, P = 0.007; HF, 18 +/- 3 vs. 3 +/- 1 ms/mmHg, P = 0.002), and increased LF BP variability (P < 0.0001). After L-NMMA, HUT resulted in similar changes in BP and R-R variability compared with tilt without L-NMMA. Increased supine BP after L-NMMA with no effect on BP variability during HUT suggests that tonic release of NO is important for systemic vascular tone and thus steady-state arterial pressure, but NO does not buffer dynamic BP oscillations in humans. 相似文献

1. [1-(14)C]Cyclohexylamine hydrochloride was synthesized and given orally or intraperitoneally to rats, rabbits and guinea pigs (dose 50-500mg/kg) and orally to humans (dose 25 or 200mg/person). The (14)C is excreted mainly in the urine, most of the excretion occurring in the first day after dosing. Only small amounts (1-7%) are found in the faeces. 2. In the rat, guinea pig and man, the amine is largely excreted unchanged, only 4-5% of the dose being metabolized in 24h in the rat and guinea pig and 1-2% in man. In the rabbit about two-thirds of the dose is excreted unchanged and about 30% is metabolized. 3. In the rat, five minor metabolites were found, namely cyclohexanol (0.05%), trans-3- (2.2%), cis-4- (1.7%), trans-4- (0.5%) and cis-3-aminocyclohexanol (0.1% of the dose in 24h). 4. In the rabbit, eight metabolites were identified, namely cyclohexanol (9.3%), trans-cyclohexane-1,2-diol (4.7%), cyclohexanone (0.2%), cyclohexylhydroxylamine (0.2%) and trans-3- (11.3%), cis-3- (0.6%), trans-4- (0.4%) and cis-4-aminocyclohexanol (0.2%). 5. In the guinea pig, six minor metabolites were found, namely cyclohexanol (0.5%), trans-cyclohexane-1,2-diol (2.5%) and trans-3- (1.2%), cis-3- (0.2%), trans-4- (0.2%) and cis-4-aminocyclohexanol (0.2%). 6. In man only two metabolites were definitely identified, namely cyclohexanol (0.2%) and trans-cyclohexane-1,2-diol (1.4% of the dose), but man had been given a smaller dose (3mg/kg) than the other species (50mg/kg). 7. The hydroxylated metabolites of cyclohexylamine were excreted in the urine in both free and conjugated forms. 8. Although cyclohexylamine is metabolized to only a minor extent, in rats the metabolism was mainly through hydroxylation of the cyclohexane ring, in man by deamination and in guinea pigs and rabbits by ring hydroxylation and deamination. 相似文献

There is good evidence that the complex microbial flora present in the gastrointestinal tract of all warm-blooded animals is effective in providing resistance to disease. However, the composition of this protective flora can be altered by dietary and environmental influences, making the host animal susceptible to disease and/or reducing its efficiency of food utilization. What we are doing with the probiotic treatments is re-establishing the natural condition which exists in the wild animal but which has been disrupted by modern trends in conditions used for rearing young animals, including human babies, and in modern approaches to nutrition and disease therapy. These are all areas where the gut flora can be altered for the worse and where, by the administration of probiotics, the natural balance of the gut microflora can be restored and the animal returned to its normal nutrition, growth and health status. 相似文献
