Recovery of short-term power after dynamic exercise 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
The intensity of prior cycle ergometer exercise alters the pattern in recovery of maximal short-term power output (STPO). STPO was measured on an isokinetic dynamometer after 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 8 min of recovery. Immediately after exercise, STPO fell to 85, 75, 55, and 47% of preexercise values for prior exercise equivalent to 60, 80, 100, and 120% of maximal O2 uptake, respectively. STPO had fully recovered by 1 min of postexercise after submaximal work rates (60 and 80%). Recovery was delayed until after 4 min of postexercise after maximal exercise (100%). STPO remained at approximately 90% of preexercise values 8 min postexercise after supramaximal exercise (120%). STPO immediately after exercise and during recovery was inversely proportional to prior exercise intensity. The recovery curve for STPO was similar to that previously reported for creatine phosphate resynthesis after dynamic and isometric exercise. The absolute STPO regained in the initial phase was not inversely proportional to either exercise intensity or 4-min postexercise blood lactate levels, which suggests that factors other than changes in pH alone may mediate initial power recovery. 相似文献

The aim of the study was to investigate the recovery of the maximum voluntary contraction force (MVC), the endurance time and electromyographical (EMG) parameters following exhaustive dynamic exercise of the m. biceps brachii. EMG recordings were made in ten healthy subjects using bipolar surface electrodes placed over the common belly of the left arm biceps muscle. Up to 25 h post-exercise, the maximum contraction force and the EMG signal were recorded alternately at regular intervals. The EMG signal was recorded during 30-s contractions at 40% of the pre-fatigued MVC. Four hours and 25 h post-exercise, the endurance time of a 40% pre-fatigued MVC was recorded. Up to 25 h after the exercise the maximum contraction force, the endurance time and the EMG parameters were significantly different from the pre-exercise values. Nine out of ten subjects complained that muscle soreness had developed. Thus, long-lasting changes are found after exhaustive dynamic exercise, not only in the MVC and the muscle's endurance capacity, but also in the EMG signal. 相似文献

The effect of dynamic exercise on the NADH content of human type I (slow-twitch) and II (fast-twitch) muscle fibres was investigated. Muscle biopsy samples were obtained from the quadriceps femoris of seven healthy subjects at rest and after bicycle exercise at 40, 75 and 100% of the maximal oxygen uptake [VO2(max.)]. At rest and after exercise at 100% VO2(max.), muscle NADH content was significantly higher (P less than 0.05) in type I than in type II fibres. After exercise at 40% VO2(max.), muscle NADH decreased in type I fibres (P less than 0.01), but was not significantly changed in type II fibres. After exercise at 75 and 100% VO2(max.), muscle NADH increased above the value at rest in both type I and II fibres (P less than 0.05). Muscle lactate was unchanged at 40% VO2(max.), but increased 20- and 60-fold after exercise at 75 and 100% VO2(max.) respectively. The finding that NADH decreased only in type I fibres at 40% VO2(max.) supports the idea that type I is the fibre type predominantly recruited during low-intensity exercise. The increase of NADH in both fibre types after exercise at 75% and 100% VO2(max.) suggests that the availability of oxygen relative to the demand is decreased in both fibre types at high exercise intensities. 相似文献

We hypothesized a differential activation of the anabolic signaling proteins protein kinase B (PKB) and p70 S6 kinase (p70(S6K)) and subsequent differential stimulation of human muscle protein synthesis (MPS) after dynamic shortening or lengthening exercise. Eight healthy men [25 +/- 5 yr, BMI 26 +/- 3 kg/m(-2) (means +/- SD)] were studied before and after 12 min of repeated stepping up to knee height, and down again, while carrying 25% of their body weight, i.e., shortening exercise with the "up" leg and lengthening exercise with contralateral "down" leg. Quadriceps biopsies were taken before and 3, 6, and 24 h after exercise. After exercise, over 2 h before the biopsies, the subjects ingested 500 ml of water containing 45 g of essential amino acids and 135 g of sucrose. We measured agonist-induced changes in the iliac artery blood flow velocity (IFV) independent of baroreflex-mediated compensatory mechanisms in chronically instrumented New Zealand White rabbits (n = 8). Animals were instrumented with a Doppler flow probe around the right common iliac artery. A Teflon catheter was inserted into the right iliolumbar artery for local infusion of the vasoactive agonists. Another Teflon catheter was inserted in the left femoral artery for the measurement of pulsatile and mean arterial (MAP) blood pressures and heart rate (HR). The alpha-adrenergic receptor agonist phenylephrine (PE, 1.32-10.0 micrograms), the beta 1- and beta 2-adrenergic receptor agonist isoproterenol (IP, 0.022-0.11 micrograms), and the purinergic receptor agonist adenosine (AD, 10.0-100.0 micrograms) were injected into the functionally isolated hindlimb, and dose-response curves were generated. Changes in IFV were obtained without changes in MAP or HR. Exercise increased HR, MAP, and IFV (65.3 +/- 7.1 beats/min, 11.1 +/- 2.2 mmHg, and 2.2 +/- 0.3 kHz, respectively). The maximum responses to PE, AD, and IP were reduced 29.0 +/- 6.7, 50.7 +/- 8.5, and 61.0 +/- 8.1%, respectively, after exercise. In conclusion, exercise attenuated adrenergic and purinergic receptor-mediated vascular responses in the intact conscious rabbit. 相似文献

The purpose of this study is to presenta new method, tone-entropy analysis (T-E analysis) of heart periodfluctuations, and to make clear an intensive cooperation of autonomicnetworks in heart recovery. On the basis of evidence obtained in animalexperiments, we hypothesized that heart periods are lengthened orshortened beat to beat by assumed physiological mediators: acceleratorand inhibitor. Their operations were evaluated through anormalized successive variation of the period, that is, the percentageindex (PI). The process was described through PI distributions by usingtwo indexes, tone and entropy, standard values of which were obtainedthrough pharmacological autonomic blockade experiment. T-E analysis wasapplied to heart recovery (70 min) after dynamic exercise by 12 femaleathletes. Interactive autonomic modulations were expressed by a curvedpath in tone-entropy space. Results suggested that heart rate decayproceeds not by withdrawal of one pathway but by increasing activity ofboth pathways as vagosympathetic balance inclines slightly butsignificantly to the vagus division in the course of recovery. Interstitial K(+) concentrations were measured during one-legged knee-extensor exercise by use of microdialysis with probes inserted in the vastus lateralis muscle of the subjects. K(+) in the dialysate was measured either by flame photometry or a K(+)-sensitive electrode placed in the perfusion outlet. The correction for fractional K(+) recovery was based on the assumption of identical fractional thallium loss. The interstitial K(+) was 4. 19 +/- 0.09 mM at rest and increased to 6.17 +/- 0.19, 7.48 +/- 1.18, and 9.04 +/- 0.74 mM at 10, 30, and 50 W exercise, respectively. The individual probes demonstrated large variations in interstitial K(+), and values >10 mM were obtained. The observed interstitial K(+) was markedly higher than previously found for venous K(+) concentrations at similar work intensities. The present data support a potential role for interstitial K(+) in regulation of blood flow and development of fatigue. 相似文献

Gallstones form when the ratio of bile cholesterol to bile acids and phospholipids is elevated, causing cholesterol to precipitate. Physical inactivity is hypothesized to increase gallstone development, but experimental evidence supporting this is lacking, and potential mechanisms for the antilithogenic effects of exercise have not been described. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of endurance exercise training on gallstone formation and the expression of genes involved in bile cholesterol metabolism in gallstone-sensitive (C57L/J) mice. At 10 wk, 50 male mice began a lithogenic diet and were randomly assigned to an exercise-training (EX) or sedentary (SED) group (n = 25 per group). Mice in the EX group ran on a treadmill at approximately 15 m/min for 45 min/day for 12 wk. At the time animals were euthanized, gallstones were collected, pooled by group, and weighed. The weight of the gallstones was 2.5-fold greater in the SED mice compared with EX mice (143 vs. 57 mg, respectively). In the EX mice, hepatic expression of the low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLr), scavenger receptor class B type 1 (SRB1), and sterol 27 hydroxylase (Cyp27) was increased by approximately 2-fold (P < 0.05 for each). The LDLr and SRB1 increase cholesterol clearance by low-density lipoprotein and high-density lipoprotein particles, respectively, while Cyp27 promotes the catabolism of cholesterol to bile acids. Taken together, these data indicate that exercise promotes changes in hepatic gene expression that increase cholesterol uptake by the liver but simultaneously increase the catabolism of cholesterol to bile acids, effectively reducing cholesterol saturation in the bile. This suggests a mechanism by which exercise improves cholesterol clearance from the circulation while simultaneously inhibiting gallstone formation. 相似文献

We studied the effects of a 38-day endurance exercise training program on leucine turnover and substrate metabolism during a 90-min exercise bout at 60% peak O(2) consumption (VO(2 peak)) in 6 males and 6 females. Subjects were studied at both the same absolute (ABS) and relative (REL) exercise intensities posttraining. Training resulted in a significant increase in whole body VO(2 peak) and skeletal muscle citrate synthase (CS; P < 0.001), complex I-III (P < 0.05), and total branched-chain 2-oxoacid dehydrogenase (BCOAD; P < 0.001) activities. Leucine oxidation increased during exercise for the pretraining trial (PRE, P < 0.001); however, there was no increase for either the ABS or REL posttraining trial. Leucine oxidation was significantly lower for females at all time points during rest and exercise (P < 0.01). The percentage of BCOAD in the activated state was significantly increased after exercise for both the PRE and REL exercise trials, with the increase in PRE being greater (P < 0.001) compared with REL (P < 0.05). Females oxidized proportionately more lipid and less carbohydrate during exercise compared with males. In conclusion, we found that 38 days of endurance exercise training significantly attenuated both leucine oxidation and BCOAD activation during 90 min of endurance exercise at 60% VO(2 peak) for both ABS and REL exercise intensities. This study addresses the question of whether tocopherol mobilization during exercise could be explained by a lipolysis effect. Nine healthy male subjects were submitted to dynamic exercise of graded intensity (45, 60, 75% VO2max) on a cycle ergometer after ingestion of either a placebo or 40 mg propranolol as beta-blocker. Plasma tocopherol concentration increased toward a peak value reached during or at the end of exercise. The magnitude of this increase did not differ in the two experimental conditions while plasma free fatty acids concentration was lowered under beta-adrenergic blockade by propranolol. From these results, we conclude that tocopherol mobilization during dynamic exercise does not depend on lipolysis. 相似文献

Ultrastructural and twitch contractile characteristics of the human triceps surae were determined in seven healthy but very sedentary subjects before and after 16 wk of unilateral isometric training at 100% maximal voluntary contraction. After training, twitch contraction time decreased by approximately 20%. One-half relaxation time, peak twitch torque, and percent fiber type in any of the muscles of the triceps surae complex were not changed by training. Type I and type II fiber areas increased in the soleus by approximately 30%, but only type II fibers showed an increased in area in the lateral gastrocnemius (40%). Despite such changes in fiber area, the volume density of the sarcoplasmic reticulum-transverse tubular (SR) network averaged 3.2 +/- 0.6 and 5.9 +/- 0.9% in type I and type II fibers, respectively, before and after training in the two heads of the gastrocnemius. Type I SR fraction increased to 3.5 +/- 1.2% after training in the soleus; however, correlations were not significant between the change in the volume density of SR and the change in twitch contraction time (R = 0.46, P = 0.45) or the change in one-half relaxation time (R = -0.68, P = 0.08). The results demonstrate that isometric training at 100% maximal voluntary contraction induced changes in twitch contraction time that were not directly related to changes in the volume density of SR in fibers of the triceps surae. 相似文献

To determine if 6 weeks of supplementation with antioxidants could alleviate exercise-induced DNA damage, we studied 21 runners during a 50 km ultramarathon. Subjects were randomly assigned to one of two groups: (1) placebos (PL) or (2) antioxidants (AO) (1000 mg vitamin C and 400 IU RRR-alpha-tocopheryl acetate). The comet assay was used to assess DNA damage in circulating leukocytes at selected time points: pre-, mid-, and 2 h postrace and daily for 6 days postrace. All subjects completed the race: run time 7.1 +/- 0.1 h, energy expenditure 5008 +/- 80 kcal for women (n = 10) and 6932 +/- 206 kcal for men (n = 11). Overall, the percentage DNA damage increased at midrace (p <.02), but returned to baseline by 2 h postrace, indicating that the exercise bout induced nonpersistent DNA damage. There was a gender x treatment x time interaction (p <.01). One day postrace, women taking AO had 62% less DNA damage than women taking PL (p <.0008). In contrast, there were no statistically significant differences between the two treatment groups of men at any time point. Thus, endurance exercise resulted in DNA damage as shown by the comet assay and AO seemed to enhance recovery in women but not in men. 相似文献

Plasma albumin is well known to decrease in response to inflammation. The rate of albumin synthesis from both liver and plasma was measured in vivo by use of a large dose of L-[(2)H(3)-(14)C]valine in rats injected intravenously with live Escherichia coli and in pair-fed control rats during the acute-phase period (2 days postinfection). The plasma albumin concentration was reduced by 50% in infected rats compared with pair-fed animals. Infection induced a fall in both liver albumin mRNA levels and albumin synthesis relative to total liver protein synthesis. However, absolute liver albumin synthesis rate (ASR) was not affected by infection. In plasma, albumin fractional synthesis rate was increased by 50% in infected animals compared with pair-fed animals. The albumin ASR estimated in the plasma was similar in the two groups. These results suggest that hypoalbuminemia is not due to reduced albumin synthesis during sepsis. Moreover, liver and plasma albumin ASR were similar. Therefore, albumin synthesis measured in the plasma is a good indicator of liver albumin synthesis. 相似文献
