Casearia sylvestris Sw. is a widespread neotropical tree utilized in popular medicine. Recent research ranked Casearia as one of the most promising genus in the search of drugs against cancer. Despite its wide distribution and pharmacological importance, no microsatellite markers have yet been developed for this genus. In this study, we provide 10 polymorphic microsatellite loci specifically designed for C. sylvestris, used to analyse 90 individuals distributed in two populations from São Paulo state, Brazil. On average, 12.3 alleles per locus were identified, showing the ability of the markers to detect microsatellite polymorphism in this species. 相似文献

Phylogenetic relationships within the Canidae are examined, based on three genes (cytb, COI, COII) and 188 morphological, developmental, behavioural and cytogenetic characters. Both separate and combined phylogenetic analyses were performed. To inspect the phylogenetic ‘behaviour’ of individual taxa, basic phylogenetic analysis was followed by experimental cladistic analyses based on different data‐partition combinations and taxon‐removal analyses. The following phylogeny of the Recent Canidae is preferred: (1) Urocyon is the most basal canid; (2) Vulpes is a monophyletic genus (including Fennecus and Alopex); (3) the doglike canids (DC) form a clade (=Dusicyon + Pseudalopex + Lycalopex + Cerdocyon + Atelocynus + Chrysocyon + Speothos + Lycaon + Cuon + Canis), split into two subclades, South American and Afro‐Holarctic, with uncertain position of the Chrysocyon + Speothos subclade; (4) Canis is paraphyletic due to the position of Lycaon and Cuon. Otocyon and Nyctereutes are the most problematic canid genera, causing an unresolved branching pattern of Otocyon, Vulpes, Nyctereutes and DC clades. Reclassification of the two basal species of ‘Canis’ into separate genera is proposed (Schaeffia for ‘C.’ adustus, Lupulella for ‘C.’ mesomelas). Although the morphological dataset ranked poorly in both separate and simultaneous analyses (measured by number of minimum‐length topologies, relative number of resolved nodes in the strict consensus of all minimum‐length topologies, consistency and retention indices, nodal dataset influence, and number of extra steps required by the data partition to reach the topology of the combined tree), the morphological synapomorphies represent nearly one quarter of all synapomorphies in the combined tree. Among the hidden morphological support of the combined tree the developmental and behavioural characters are conspicuously abundant. 相似文献

The first formal analysis of phylogenetic relationships among small-headed flies (Acroceridae) is presented based on DNA sequence data from two ribosomal (16S and 28S) and two protein-encoding genes: carbomoylphosphate synthase (CPS) domain of CAD (i.e., rudimentary locus) and cytochrome oxidase I (COI). DNA sequences from 40 species in 22 genera of Acroceridae (representing all three subfamilies) were compared with outgroup exemplars from Nemestrinidae, Stratiomyidae, Tabanidae, and Xylophagidae. Parsimony and Bayesian simultaneous analyses of the full data set recover a well-resolved and strongly supported hypothesis of phylogenetic relationships for major lineages within the family. Molecular evidence supports the monophyly of traditionally recognised subfamilies Philopotinae and Panopinae, but Acrocerinae are polyphyletic. Panopinae, sometimes considered "primitive" based on morphology and host-use, are always placed in a more derived position in the current study. Furthermore, these data support emerging morphological evidence that the type genus Acrocera Meigen, and its sister genus Sphaerops, are atypical acrocerids, comprising a sister lineage to all other Acroceridae. Based on the phylogeny generated in the simultaneous analysis, historical divergence times were estimated using Bayesian methodology constrained with fossil data. These estimates indicate Acroceridae likely evolved during the late Triassic but did not diversify greatly until the Cretaceous. 相似文献

Nucleotide sequences of the chloroplast-encoded rbcL gene were used to examine phylogenetic relationships of the genus Salix together with other allied genera of the family Salicaceae. Phylogenetic analyses of rbcL sequences strongly suggest the monophyly of three commonly recognized genera (Chosenia, Salix, and Toisusu). Two monophyletic groups are recognized within the larger monophyletic group. They do not correspond with any infrageneric taxa proposed so far. With regard to character evolution, it is thought that the reduction of stamen number from more than two stamens to two might occur in at least three lineages and that fused bud scales evolved several times and/or the reverse evolution occurred from fused to free. Post-Palaeozoic asteroids share a large number of derived characters of the ambulacral column and the mouth frame, and constitute the crown group of the monophyletic group Asteroidea. This crown group is here called the Neoasteroidea (new subclass). The stem species of the crown group lived in the Permian or early Triassic and so the evolution of the asteroids parallels that of the echinoids. Character distribution within the Neoasteroidea, especially morphology of the skeleton, digestive system, larvae and tube feet, allows subdivision into four orders (Paxillosida, Notomyotida, Valvatida, Forcipulatida). The latter three orders possess the synapomorphy of suckered tube feet and are united as the Surculifera (new superorder); the Paxillosida are their primitive sister group. Palaeozoic asteroids represent the stem group of the class, and may be divided into plesions according to the order of appearance of synapomorphies with the crown group. Classification of Palaeozoic asteroids requires much further study. The appearance of new characters within the crown group asteroids, such as suckered tube feet, implies that these were absent in the stem group. The range of life-habits possible in Palaeozoic asteroids can thus be partly deduced from evidence provided by living asteroids. Palaeozoic asteroids are deduced to have lacked suckered tube feet and were presumably unable to evert the stomach; hence they were precluded from life on hard substrates and extraoral feeding on epifaunal organisms. It is suggested that they lived on soft substrates by deposit feeding, scavenging and predation on small benthos. 相似文献

Analysis of the patterns and levels of diversity in duplicate gene not only traces evolutionary history of polyploids, but also provides insight into how the evolutionary process differs between lineages and between homoeologous loci within lineages. Elymus sensu lato is a group of allopolyploid species, which share a common St genome and with the different combinations of H, Y, P, and W genomes. To estimate the evolutionary process of the rbcL gene in species of Elymus s. l. and its putative dioploid relatives, 74 sequences were obtained from 21 species of Elymus s. l. together with 24 diploid taxa representing 19 basic genomes in Triticeae. Phylogeny and sequence diversity pattern analysis suggested that (1) species of Pseudoroegneria (Nevski) Á. Löve might serve as the maternal donor of the species of Elymus s. l; (2) differentiation of St genome were shown in the species of Elymus s. l. following polyploidy event; (3) divergences within the species might associate with geographic diversity and morphological variability; (4) differences in the levels and patterns of nucleotide diversity of the rbcL gene implied that the St genome lineages in the species of Elymus s. l. have differently evolutionary potentials. 相似文献

Since the 19th century the phytochemistry of the Salicaceae has been systematically investigated, initially for pharmaceutical and later for ecological reasons. The result of these efforts is a rich knowledge about the phenolic components, especially a series of glycosylated and esterified derivatives of salicyl alcohol known as “phenolic glycosides”. These substances have received extensive attention with regard to their part in plant-herbivore interactions. The negative impact of phenolic glycosides on the performance of many generalist herbivores has been reported in numerous studies. Other more specialized feeders are less susceptible and have even been reported to sequester phenolic glycosides for their own defense. In this review, we attempt to summarize our current knowledge about the role of phenolic glycosides in mediating plant-herbivore interactions. As background, we first review what is known about their basic chemistry and occurrence in plants. 相似文献

Salix arbutifolia is a riparian dioecious tree species that is of conservation concern in Japan because of its highly restricted distribution. Eighteen polymorphic loci of dinucleotide microsatellites were isolated and characterized. Among these, estimates of the expected heterozygosity ranged from 0.350 to 0.879. Plastid atpB/rbcL intergenic spacer sequences were obtained from 21 selected taxa and
one hybrid of Anemoninae (Anemone, Pulsatilla, Hepatica) and compared with Ficaria (Ranunculinae) as an outgroup. From the resulting matrix (1226 bp) a single most parsimonious tree was
obtained (Fig. 1 ). The branching of this tree is confirmed by many informative indels and appears
largely congruent with past plastid restriction analyses. Several new taxa are added. The monophyly
of the Anemoninae and their early split into two major clades is supported: clade I with the chromosome base number x = 8, clade Ⅱ with the reduced x = 7. Clade Ⅰ is made up of the basal Pulsatilla
and the Rivularis + Vitifolia groups. The Multifida group links to the crown groups Coronaria,
Blanda and Nemorosa. Clade Ⅱ consists of the basal Dichotoma group, followed by Hepatica, and
finally by the N. Hemisphere Narcissiflora and the S. Hemisphere Antucensis groups as sisters. The
problems of the Anemoninae ancestry, phylogenetic differentiation, and recent attempts for systematic classification are critically discussed. In view of the still incomplete sampling of DNA data, aconservative and informal approach to classification problems is recommended. 相似文献

Trembling aspen (Populus tremuloides) is a clonal tree species, which regenerates mostly through root suckering. In spite of vegetative propagation, aspen maintains high levels of clonal diversity. We hypothesized that the maintenance of clonal diversity in this species can be facilitated by integrating different clones through natural root grafts into aspen's communal root system. To verify this hypothesis, we analyzed root systems of three pure aspen stands where clones had been delineated with the help of molecular markers. Grafting between roots was frequent regardless of their genotypes. Root system excavations revealed that many roots were still living below trees that had been dead for several years. Some of these roots had no root connections other than grafts to living ramets of different clones. The uncovered root systems did not include any unique genotypes that would not occur among stems. Nevertheless, acquiring roots of dead trees helps to maintain extensive root systems, which increases the chances of clone survival. Substantial interconnectivity within clones as well as between clones via interclonal grafts results in formation of large genetically diverse physiological units. Such a clonal structure can significantly affect interpretations of diverse ecophysiological processes in forests of trembling aspen. 相似文献

Development of 15 novel microsatellite markers from cellulose synthase genes in Populus tomentosa (Salicaceae) 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
? Premise of the study: Microsatellite markers from cellulose synthase genes were developed for the Chinese white poplar, Populus tomentosa, to investigate the genetic diversity of wild germplasm resources and to further identify favorable alleles significantly associated with wood cellulose content. ? Methods and Results: Fifteen microsatellite markers were developed in P. tomentosa by deep sequencing of cellulose synthase genes. Polymorphisms were evaluated in 460 individuals from three climatic regions of P. tomentosa, and all 15 markers revealed polymorphic variation. The number of alleles per locus ranged from two to nine with an average of 4.3; the observed and expected heterozygosity per locus varied from 0.029 to 0.962 and from 0.051 to 0.713, respectively. ? Conclusions: These polymorphic markers will potentially be useful for genetic mapping and in molecular breeding for improvement of wood fiber traits in Populus. 相似文献
