Maize mosaic and stunt, occurring to a considerable degree under Cuban field conditions, was determined as a virus disease, transmissible by the corn planthopperPeregrinus maidis Ashm. Negative results were obtained in the experiments in which aphidsRhopalosiphum maidis Fitch, served as vectors or when transmission was realized mechanically using the sap of infected plants. The incubation period in the infected plants fluctuated between 15 and 27 days. Besides maize, the virus disease could be transmitted also to sorghum(Sorghum vulgare Pees.) and to weed plants of the grassRottboellia exaltata L. It follows from the results that the disease concerned is identical with virus stripe, described in 1927 in Cuba by Stahl as corn stripe (raya del maiz). Under field conditions the disease spread fluctuated in average from 3.4 to 46 per cent of inflected plants. Plant communities concentrated on larger areas which received good agro technique and chemical protection against pests exhibited lower infection for the most part The most suitable time for the determination of spread and infection intensity under field conditions is that shortly before and during flowering of maize.  相似文献

Susceptibility of 33 Lycopersicon species and varieties to Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) and Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) were studied. Plants were mechanically inoculated with the C/U1 strain of TMV and U/246 strain of CMV. Virus infection was checked by symptomatology, DAS ELISA and back inoculation (biotest). All the studied Lycopersicon species and varieties were susceptible to TMV-C/U1. L. esculentum Mill. convar. infiniens Lehm. var. flammatum Lehm., L. esculentum Mill. convar. fruticosum Lehm. var. speciosum Lehm. and L. esculentum Mill. convar. infiniens Lehm. var. validum Bail. showed extreme resistance to CMV-U/246. The other 30 species and varieties were susceptible to CMV-U/246. New compatible and incompatible host-virus relations have been reported. The extreme resistant Lycopersicon varieties could be used as resistance sources in tomato breeding.  相似文献

大豆花叶病毒(Soybean mosaic virus,SMV)病是在世界范围内广泛分布并普遍发生的病毒病害之一,导致大豆严重减产和种质衰退。这引起了国内外许多学者的科研兴趣,研究内容涉及SMV株系划分与发生分布、传播流行方式、寄主上的症状和影响因素、基因组结构组成及各基凶功能、植物生理生化抗性、大豆SMV抗性遗传育种等各方面。本文综述了近年来国内外SMV的科研方向和进展,旨在为进一步的研究提供依据。  相似文献

Pepper seed samples were tested for the infection of tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) and tomato mosaic virus (ToMV) by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Out of 26 pepper seed samples tested, 17 were infected with TMV and ToMV in ELISA. About 34.7% of pepper seed samples were found to be healthy. Infections of TMV or ToMV were recorded to be 61.53% and 11.5%, respectively of the total tested seed samples.  相似文献

The amino acid sequences of the non-structural protein (molecular weight 35,000; 3a protein) from three plant viruses — cucumber mosaic, brome mosaic and alfalfa mosaic have been systematically compared using the partial genomic sequences for these three viruses already available. The 3a protein of cucumber mosaic virus has an amino acid sequence homology of 33.7% with the corresponding protein of brome mosaic virus. A similar protein from alfalfa mosaic virus has a homology of 18.2% and 14.2% with the protein from brome mosaic virus and cucumber mosaic virus, respectively. These results suggest that the three plant viruses are evolutionarily related, although, the evolutionary distance between alfalfa mosaic virus and cucumber mosaic virus or brome mosaic virus is much larger than the corresponding distance between the latter two viruses.  相似文献

Summary The cell cycle mutant, cdc9, in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae is defective in DNA ligase be deficient in the repair of DNA damaged by methyl methane sulphonate. On the other hand survival of cdc9 after irradiation by -rays is little diferent from that of the wild-type, even after a period of stress at the restrictive temperature. Sorghum mosaic virus (SrMV), a causal agent of the destructive sugarcane mosaic disease, has a global presence. An isolate of SrMV infecting a commercially-grown sugarcane plant was recovered from the Hainan province of China. The virions were visualized by an electron microscope, and the coat proteins (CPs) were sequenced by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry and tandem mass spectrometry. Discrepancies between the CP predicted and actual amino acid sequences were noted, which confounded the phylogenetic assignment of the isolate. The apparent variations may have physiological effects on the pathogenicity and virulence of SrMV.  相似文献

The aim of our investigations was to study the susceptibility of 22 weed species to Pepino mosaic virus (PepMV). Seven plants of each species were mechanically inoculated at 4-6 leaf stage with PepMV in a vector free virological glasshouse. Inoculated plants were tested on the basis of symptoms, by DAS ELISA serological method and back inoculation. Among the 22 weed species, only some Solanum ones (S. aethiopicum, S. dulcamara, S. luteum, S. nigrum) were susceptible to PepMV infection. All of them--except S. aethiopicum--belong to Hungarian weed flora, therefore these weeds--occurring mainly in tomato ecosystems--may play important role in the epidemiology of PepMV. Other 18 weed species seemed to be resistant to PepMV, and on the basis of back inoculation not even latent infection has been observed.  相似文献

Trotzdem von einer zunehmenden Bedeutung der Schneeschimmelkrankheit, hervorgerufen durch den Pilz Microdochium nivale, berichtet wird, liegen nur wenige Information über die Physiologie der Schadwirkung dieses Pilzes, insbesondere bei Blattbefall vor. Daher werden in dieser Arbeit die Einflüsse einer Inokulation mit M. nivale auf die Stickstoffaufnahme, ‐Verteilung sowie die source‐sink‐Beziehungen der Wirtspflanze untersucht. Die Weizenpflanzen wuchsen in Glaskabinen oder im Rhizotron unter Semifreilandbedingungen bzw. in Klimakammern. Durch Gabe von 15NH4 15NO3 (2, 5 at‐% 15N exc.) zur Inokulation des Saatgutes, der Ähren oder verschieden inserierten Blättern wurden die Wirkungen der Krankheit auf den Stickstoffhaushalt des Weizens untersucht. Wenn keine zusätzliche Beeinflussung durch andere, biotische oder abiotische Streßfaktoren erfolgte, waren weder die Stickstoffaufnahme durch die Wurzeln, der Transport in die Körner, der Einbau in diese noch die Remobilisierung und Retranslokation zuvor gespeicherter N‐Verbindungen durch die Inokulation gehemmt. In einigen Versuchen war der Stickstoffhaushalt sogar stimuliert; die Stickstoffaufnahme, der Transport und Einbau in die Körner waren in den befallenen Pflanzen bis zur Reife höher als in den gesunden Pflanzen. Die Folgen dieser Wirkungen für den Kohlen‐hydrathaushalt und die Beteiligung von Phytohormonen an diesen Veränderungen werden diskutiert.  相似文献

Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) is a widespread serious pathogen of cucurbitaceous plants. ZYMV was first detected in Hungary in 1995. Since then it has become one of the most dangerous viruses of the Cucurbitaceae family causing serious epidemics. The virus has many hosts, which - particularly perennial ones - may play important role as virus reservoirs and infection sources in virus epidemiology. On the other hand wild weed species maybe sources of resistance to viruses. Our research was carried out on a total of 15 wild species from 8 genera (Cucumis, Cucurbita, Cyclanthera, Ecballium Momordica, Lagenaria, Zehneria, Bryonia). Test plants were mechanically inoculated with ZYMV. Local and systemic symptoms were determined and 5 weeks after inoculation DAS-ELISA tests were also carried out. Symptomless plants were reinoculated to Cucumis sativus cv. Accordia test plants. On the basis of the results we determined the percentages of infections and so we classified the test-plants into sensitive and resistance categories. On the basis of the results new host plants of ZYMV are the followings: Bryonia dioica, Cyclanthera pedata, Ecballium elaterium, Momordica balsamina, Momordica rostrata, and Zehneria scabra. Among them Momordica balsamina and Ecballium elaterium showed latent to ZYMV. Bryonia alba and Zehneria indica are especially remarkable, because they proved resistant to ZYMV on the basis of symptomatology and serology. Our results might have significant role in the field of research of host range, virus resistance and virus differentiation.  相似文献
