Heart mass of American shad Alosa sapidissima did not change during migration in the Connecticut River. Spleen mass decreased and there was an increase in available blood haemoglobin (+22%) and haematocrit (+9%). The decreases in spleen somatic index (-29%) and spleen haemoglobin content (-15%) were dependent upon distance travelled upriver and not seasonal migration timing or short-term exercise events such as passage up a fish ladder. There was no effect of migration timing on any of the blood parameters measured, suggesting that any physiological responses during migration were based on distance travelled rather than seasonally variable conditions such as temperature, although blood haemoglobin (+24%) and haematocrit (+21%) increased after passage up a fish ladder. These changes in haematological physiology occurring during upstream migration may increase swimming performance and migratory success in American shad.  相似文献

Haemodynamic responses to hypothermia were studied at normal haematocrit and following the induction of acute normovolaemic haemodilution. Experiments were performed on 20 cats anaesthetized with a mixture of chloralose and urethane in two groups. In one group (n=10) the effects of hypothermia on various haemodynamic variables were studied at normal haematocrit (41.0±1.7%) and in the second group of cats (n=10) the effects of hypothermia on various haemodynamic variables were studied after the induction of acute normovolaemic haemodilution (14.0±1.0%). The haemodynamic variables left ventricular pressure, left ventricular contractility, arterial blood pressure, heart rate and right atrial pressure were recorded on a polygraph. Cardiac output was measured using a cardiac output computer. In both groups hypothermia was induced by surface cooling with the help of ice. Cardiovascular variables were recorded at each 1° C fall in body temperature. Hypothermia produced a significant (P<0.05) drop in heart rate, cardiac output, arterial blood pressure and left ventricular contractility in both groups. However, the percentage decrease in these variables in response to hypothermia was significantly (P<0.05) higher in cats with low haematocrit than in those with normal haematocrit. The severity of hypothermia – induced cardiovascular effects is evident from the drastic decrease in heart rate, cardiac output, arterial blood pressure and myocardial contractility in cats with low haematocrit, indicating a higher risk of circulatory failure under anaemic conditions at low temperatures. We studied the effects of diaspirin cross-linked hemoglobin (DCLHb), a cell-free hemoglobin derived from human erythrocytes, on blood flow distribution and tissue oxygen extraction capabilities in endotoxic shock. Eighteen pentobarbital sodium-anesthetized, mechanically ventilated dogs received 2 mg/kg of E. coli endotoxin, followed by saline resuscitation to restore cardiac filling pressures to baseline levels. The animals were randomly divided into three groups: six served as control, six received DCLHb at a dose of 500 mg/kg (group 1) and six DCLHb at a dose of 1,000 mg/kg (group 2). Cardiac tamponade was then induced by saline injection in the pericardial sac to progressively reduce cardiac index and thereby allow study of tissue oxygen extraction capabilities. DCLHb had a dose-dependent vasopressor effect but did not significantly alter cardiac index or regional blood flow. During cardiac tamponade, critical oxygen delivery was 12.8 +/- 0.7 ml. kg(-1). min(-1) in the control group, but 8.6 +/- 0.9 and 8.2 +/- 0.7 ml. kg(-1). min(-1) in groups 1 and 2, respectively (both P < 0.05 vs. control group). The critical oxygen extraction ratio was 39.1 +/- 3.1% in the control group but 58.7 +/- 12.8% and 60.2 +/- 9.0% in groups 1 and 2, respectively. We conclude that DCLHb can improve whole body oxygen extraction capabilities during endotoxic shock in dogs.  相似文献

Hereditary erythroblastic anaemia in the laboratory mouse   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Hereditary erythroblastic anaemia was found in a homozygous mutant (hea/hea) of an inbred strain CFO, which originated from noninbred CF#1 mice from Carworth Inc. This newly-described anaemia is inherited as an autosomal recessive and is lethal at 15-25 days of age. Erythrocytes of anaemic mice show striking polychromasia, anisocytosis, and poikilocytosis. One of the most marked features of this anaemia is the presence of large numbers of nucleated cells, mainly orthochromatophilic erythroblasts and myeloid cells, in the circulation. They also include immature erythroid and myeloid cells. Many naked nuclei appear on smears from circulating blood of anaemic infants. Erythrocytes, haematocrit percentage, and haemoglobin content of older anaemic infants were only about 50% of those of the normal. Formation of erythroid, myeloid cells, and megakaryocytes in the bone marrow seems to be progressively affected by mutant alleles in the anaemic infants.  相似文献

Pretreatment with cyclosporine (CsA) decreases infarct size 24h after myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R). The goal of this study was to determine effects of CsA pretreatment on long-term cardiac function after I/R-injury. Rats were randomly assigned to group-1: vehicle-only, group-2: CsA-5mg/kg/day, and group-3: CsA-12.5mg/kg/day given orally for three days prior to I/R-injury (30 min of left anterior descending coronary artery occlusion). Post-I/R survival and cardiac function were evaluated 14 days after I/R-injury by echocardiography and invasive hemodynamic measurements. Rats with I/R-injury showed increased left ventricular pressure (LVEDP) compared to rats without I/R-injury (p<0.005). Although CsA initially decreased infarct size, no differences of LVEDP were seen 14 days after I/R-injury (vehicle: 21.2+/-8.9 mmHg, CsA-5mg/kg/day: 21.5+/-0.7 mmHg, CsA-12.5mg/kg/day: 20.5+/-9.4 mmHg). Ejection fraction and fractional shortening were decreased compared to baseline, but showed no differences between groups. On day 14, a dose-dependent increase in left ventricular end diastolic diameter was seen (p<0.001). CsA pretreatment was associated with a dose-dependent decrease in post-I/R-survival (vehicle: 56%, CsA-5mg/kg/day: 32%, CsA-12.5mg/kg/day: 16%; p=0.017). CsA pretreatment did not improve long-term cardiac function despite decreased infarct size 24h after I/R-injury, but increased post-I/R mortality significantly. Poor cardiac function after CsA pretreatment might be caused by left ventricular dilation.  相似文献

Rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss (Walbaum) were rendered acutely anaemic by immersion in phenylhydrazine HC1 at 5° C. Following splenectomy or sham operation erythropoiesis was induced by gradual warming. No consistent or significant differences in red cell numbers, haemoglobin, haematocrit, mean erythrocytic volume or haemoglobin or haemoglobin isomorph system organization were evident during or following recovery. It is unlikely, therefore, that reported acclimatory adjustments in haemoglobin isomorph abundances can be attributed to site-related differences in erythroid cell lineages.  相似文献

The importance of heart rate for left ventricular remodeling and prognosis after myocardial infarction is not known. We examined the contribution of heart rate reduction by zatebradine, a direct sinus node inhibitor without negative inotropic effects on left ventricular function and dilatation, on mortality, energy metabolism, and neurohormonal changes in rats with experimental myocardial infarction (MI). Thirty minutes after left coronary artery ligation or sham operation, the rats were randomized to receive either placebo or zatebradine (100 mg x kg(-1) x day(-1) per gavage) continued for 8 wk. Mortality during 8 wk was 33.3% in the placebo and 23.0% in the zatebradine group (P < 0.05); MI size was 36 +/- 2% and 30 +/- 1% (means +/- SE, P < 0.05), respectively. Zatebradine improved stroke volume index in all treated rats but increased left ventricular volume in rats with small MI (2.43 +/- 0.10 vs. 1.81 +/- 0.10 ml/kg, P < 0.05) but not in rats with large MI (2.34 +/- 0.09 vs. 2.35 +/- 0.11 ml/kg, not significant). Zatebradine reduced left and right ventricular norepinephrine and increased left and right ventricular 3,4-dihydroxyphenyl ethylene glycol-to-norepinephrine ratio suggesting aggravation of cardiac sympathetic activation by zatebradine after MI. Creatine kinase and lactate dehydrogenase isoenzymes in rats with MI remained unchanged by zatebradine. Lowering heart rate per se reduces mortality and MI size in this model but induces adverse effects on left ventricular remodeling in rats with small MI.  相似文献

Ethanolic extract of the aerial parts of H. spinosa a semiwoody herb was examined on male albino rats for certain haematological changes. The extract (100 & 200 mg/kg, po) significantly increased the haemoglobin, haematocrit, RBC and total WBC, as compared with vehicle treated control rat haemogram. In anemic male albino rats, the extract significantly increased haemoglobin, haematocrit and RBC count. Serum iron and serum total iron binding capacity were significantly decreased in H. spinosa extract treated anemic rats as compared with those in the vehicle treated anemic control rats. These findings demonstrated the haematinic effect of H. spinosa extract on experimental animals.  相似文献

Angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) reduce adverse left ventricular (LV) remodeling and improve LV function and survival when started postmyocardial infarction (MI). ARBs also reduce ventricular arrhythmias during ischemia-reperfusion injury when started pre-MI. No information exists regarding their efficacy and safety when started pre-MI and continued peri- and post-MI. We evaluated whether the ARB losartan improves the outcome when started pre-MI and continued peri- and post-MI. Male Wistar rats (n = 502) were treated for 7 days pre-MI with losartan at a high dose (30 mg.kg(-1).day(-1)), progressively increasing dose (3 mg.kg(-1).day(-1) increased to 10 mg.kg(-1).day(-1) 10 days and 30 mg.kg(-1).day(-1) 20 days post-MI), or no treatment. Ambulatory systolic blood pressure and Holter monitoring were performed for 24 h post-MI. Echocardiography was done 30 days post-MI, and LV remodeling, cardiac hemodynamics, and fetal gene expression were assessed 38 days post-MI. High-dose losartan reduced 24-h post-MI survival compared with the progressive dose and control (21.9% vs. 36.6% and 38.1%, P = 0.033 and P = 0.009, respectively). This was associated with greater hypotension in the high dose and no change in ventricular arrhythmias in all groups. In 24-h post-MI survivors, the progressive dose group had reduced mortality from 24 h to 38 days (8.5% vs. 28.6% for control vs. 38.9% for high dose, P = 0.032 and P = 0.01, respectively). Survivors of both losartan groups demonstrated improved LV remodeling, cardiac hemodynamics, preserved GLUT-4, and reduced cardiac fetal gene expression. Pretreatment with ARBs does not reduce 24-h post-MI ventricular arrhythmias or survival, and high doses increase mortality by causing excessive hypotension. In 24-h post-MI survivors, progressively increasing doses of losartan have multiple beneficial effects, including improved survival.  相似文献

Virgin, male Sprague-Dawley rats were used to study the production of cardiac failure by a single subcutaneous injection of 85 mg/kg dl-isoproterenol (ISO) and the possible preservation of cardiac function by a pre-treatment of 50 mg/kg verapamil (VER) 5 min prior to 85 mg/kg ISO. At 24 hrs after drug injections cardiac function was assessed in anesthetized, open-chest rats by the measurement of cardiac output and by a volume loading of the heart with a 2 min, 15.3 ml/min jugular vein infusion of Tyrode's solution. Peak cardiac index and peak stroke index were depressed by ISO. VER completely prevented these signs of ISO-induced cardiac failure. A second group of rats was sacrificed 24 hrs after ISO and VER-ISO and their left ventricular calcium contents were determined. ISO caused a significant increase in left ventricular calcium content. VER attenuated the ISO-induced increase in myocardial calcium content, but did not prevent it. This data raises questions as to whether VER's property as a transarcolemmal calcium flux inhibitor was the mechanism of preservation of cardiac function following ISO administration. It is possible that VER may have preserved cardiac function by altering ISO-induced hemodynamic changes in the rat.  相似文献

In Germany, hydroalcoholic extracts from hawthorn (Crataegus spp.) leaves with flowers are approved drugs for the treatment of mild forms of heart insufficiency. Besides cardiotonic effects these herbal remedies have been shown to possess cardioprotective properties. We now evaluated if treatment of rats with the Crataegus special extract WS 1442 also improves cardiac function and prevents myocardial infarction during prolonged ischemia and reperfusion lasting for 240 and 15 min, respectively. Oral administration of WS 1442 (10 or 100 mg x kg(-1) x day(-1)) for 7 days before ligation of the left coronary artery dose-dependently suppressed the decrease of the pressure rate product. WS 1442 treatment also attenuated the elevation of the ST-segment in the ECG, diminished the incidence of ventricular fibrillations (control: 67%; 10 mg x kg(-1): 64%; 100 mg x kg(-1): 27%) and reduced the mortality rate (control: 47%; 10 mg.kg(-1): 27%; 100 mg x kg(-1): 9%). Furthermore, the area of myocardial infarction within the ischemic zone was significantly smaller in treated rats (10 mg x kg(-1): 64.3 +/- 5.1%; 100 mg x kg(-1): 42.8 +/- 4.1%) when compared with controls (78.4 +/- 2.6%). It is suggested that these pharmacological effects are accounted for by the combined antioxidative, leukocyte elastase inhibiting and endothelial nitric oxide (NO) synthesis enhancing properties of WS 1442.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: To investigate possible cardiac morphofunctional alterations observed in 26 Turner's syndrome (TS) patients on prolonged high-dose growth hormone (GH) therapy. STUDY DESIGN: We examined 26 TS subjects treated with rhGH (1 U/kg/week) for a mean period of 4.9 years (range 1-7.8) and 37 age-, weight- and height-matched healthy girls. Left ventricular volume, mass, systolic function, cardiac index, systemic vascular resistance and diastolic function were evaluated by two-dimensional and Doppler echocardiography. RESULTS: Heart rate and systolic blood pressure (BP) were higher in TS patients than in controls, while diastolic BP was lower. Left ventricular volumes, ejection fraction, mass index, M/V ratio and cardiac index did not differ significantly; systemic vascular resistance was slightly decreased. Left ventricular fractional shortening and mean velocity of circumferential shortening were slightly increased while end-systolic meridional stress was decreased in TS. Contractile state was normal in TS. Diastolic function assessment showed a shortening of isovolumetric relaxation and diastolic filling times with an increased atrial contribution and a normal pulmonary venous flow. CONCLUSION: Cardiac morphology in TS patients on GH therapy is similar to controls. The observed changes in left ventricular systolic and diastolic function should be interpreted as an adaptation to the higher heart rate and reduced peripheral vascular resistance induced by GH therapy.  相似文献

Insulin resistance (IR) and diabetes increase the risk of acute myocardial infarction (MI). Angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) have been shown to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with hypertension and diabetes, and to be beneficial after a large MI. Whether pretreatment with ARBs is beneficial in acute MI is unknown. We evaluated whether pre-, peri-, and post-MI treatment with the ARB losartan improved the outcome in the IR Zucker fatty rat (ZFR). ZFR (n=264) received either losartan (3 mg/kg daily) or vehicle for 7 d prior to MI. Early (24 h) protocol (n=31): ventricular arrhythmias were evaluated post-MI using continuous ambulatory ECG monitoring. Late (38 d) protocol (n=233): losartan was increased to 10 mg/kg daily 10 d post-MI and to 30 mg/kg daily 20 d post-MI. Blood glucose, cardiac hemodynamics and remodeling, GLUT-4, fetal gene expression, and survival were evaluated. In large-MI rats, losartan improved early survival (43% vs. 27% in controls, p=0.01) and late survival (23% vs.15% in controls, p=0.02). Improved early survival was associated with a reduction in ventricular arrhythmias. Losartan reduced pulmonary congestion, cardiac hypertrophy, and fetal gene expression in the absence of statistically significant changes in ventricular dilatation and hemodynamics. Blood glucose and cardiac GLUT-4 expression did not change with losartan. In IR ZFR, losartan improves post-MI survival, likely as a result of an early reduction in ventricular arrhythmias. There was also an associated reduction in pulmonary congestion, hypertrophy, and fetal gene expression.  相似文献

Laboratory rats (Rattus norvegicus) were infected with Echinostoma paraensei (Trematoda: Echinostomatidae). The rodents received 150 metacercariae each and blood samples were collected weekly until the fifth week of infection. The blood samples were analyzed for determination of haematocrit, total red blood cells with their dimensions, haemoglobin and haematimetric index (mean corpuscular volume, MCV; mean corpuscular haemoglobin, MCH; and mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration, MCHC) and platelets. Red blood cells, haematocrit and haemoglobin in the first week had significantly lower levels than those of uninfected (control) rats, suggesting the development of normocytic and normocromic anaemia with anisocytic alteration. The number of eosinophils did not increase significantly among the groups. We concluded that E. paraensei produces haematological alterations in R. norvegicus, causing regenerative anaemia. This system can therefore be a useful model to study the direct and indirect effects of gastrointestinal infections.  相似文献

Hyperaldosteronim is associated with left ventricular (LV) hypertrophy (LVH) and fibrosis. Cardiotrophin (CT)-1 is a cytokine that induces myocardial remodeling. We investigated whether CT-1 mediates aldosterone (Aldo)-induced myocardial remodeling in two experimental models. Wistar rats were treated with Aldo-salt (1 mg·kg(-1)·day(-1)) with or without spironolactone (200 mg·kg(-1)·day(-1)) for 3 wk. Wild-type (WT) and CT-1-null mice were infused with Aldo (1 mg·kg(-1)·day(-1)) for 3 wk. Hemodynamic parameters were analyzed. LVH, fibrosis, inflammation, and CT-1 expression were evaluated in both experimental models by histopathological analysis, RT-PCR, Western blot analysis, and ELISA. Hypertensive Aldo-treated rats exhibited increased LV end-diastolic pressure and -dP/dt compared with controls. The cardiac index, LV cross-sectional area and wall thickness, cardiomyocyte size, collagen deposition, and inflammation were increased in Aldo-salt-treated rats. Myocardial expression of molecular markers assessing LVH and fibrosis as well as CT-l levels were also augmented by Aldo-salt. Spironolactone treatment reversed all the above effects. CT-1 correlated positively with hemodynamic, histological, and molecular parameters showing myocardial remodeling. In WT and CT-1-null mice, Aldo infusion did not modify blood pressure. Whereas Aldo treatment induced LVH, fibrosis, and inflammation in WT mice, the mineralocorticoid did not provoke cardiac remodeling in CT-1-null mice. In conclusion, in experimental hyperaldosteronism, the increase in CT-1 expression was associated with parameters showing LVH and fibrosis. CT-1-null mice were resistant to Aldo-induced LVH and fibrosis. These data suggest a key role for CT-1 in cardiac remodeling induced by Aldo independent of changes in blood pressure levels.  相似文献

Rho-dependent kinases serve as downstream effectors of several vasoconstrictor systems, the activities of which are upregulated in congestive heart failure (CHF). We evaluated renal and cardiac effects of Y-27632, a highly selective Rho kinase inhibitor, in an experimental model of volume-overload CHF. Effects of acute administration of Y-27632 (0.3 mg/kg) on renal hemodynamic and clearance parameters and effects of chronic treatment (10.0 mg.kg(-1).day(-1) for 7 days via osmotic minipumps) on cardiac hypertrophy and cumulative Na+ excretion were studied in male Wistar rats with aortocaval fistula and control rats. The Y-27632-induced decrease in renal vascular resistance (from 40.4 +/- 4.6 to 26.0 +/- 3.1 resistance units, P < 0.01) in CHF rats was associated with a significant increase in total renal blood flow (+34%) and cortical and medullary blood flow (approx +37 and +27%, respectively). These values were significantly higher than those in control rats and occurred despite a decrease in mean arterial pressure (-15 mmHg). Despite the marked renal vasodilatory effect, Y-27632 did not alter glomerular filtration rate and renal Na+ excretion. Chronic administration of Y-27632 did not alter daily or cumulative renal Na+ excretion in CHF rats but was associated with a significant decrease in heart-to-body weight ratio, an index of cardiac hypertrophy: 0.32 +/- 0.007, 0.46 +/- 0.017, and 0.37 +/- 0.006% in control, CHF, and CHF + Y-27632 rats, respectively. The findings suggest that Rho kinase-dependent pathways are involved in the mechanisms of renal vasoconstriction and cardiac hypertrophy in rats with volume-overload heart failure. Selective blockade of these signaling pathways may be considered an additional tool to improve renal perfusion and attenuate cardiac hypertrophy in heart failure.  相似文献

Rainbow trout at a weight of 223+/-12 g (mean+/-SD) were experimentally injected with a technical mixture of Delor 103 to evaluate the red blood cell indices (red blood cell count, haematocrit, haemoglobin, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular haemoglobin, mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration) and some biochemical and enzyme parameters of the blood plasma (total protein, glucose, inorganic phosphate, total calcium, sodium, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, lactate dehydrogenase). Delor 103, administered by the i.p. route at a concentration of 0.24 g kg(-1) 120 h(-1), caused an increase in the red blood cell counts, haematocrit values, haemoglobin concentrations, inorganic phosphate, alanine aminotransferase and lactate dehydrogenase. The sodium level fell. The fish injected with Delor 103 showed a relative decrease in the lymphocyte count and a relative increase in the count of neutrophile band forms.  相似文献

A 12-week growth experiment was conducted to establish the necessity of vitamin C in the nutrition of Heterobranchus longifilis fingerlings. Vitamin C was supplemented at levels of 0 and 50 mg x kg(-1) to a basal diet (42.5% CP), which was fed to triplicate groups of H. longifilis fingerlings. Fish receiving the vitamin C-supplemented diet had significantly improved weight gain (20.7 vs. 16.7 g per fish), feed efficiency ratio (1.03 vs. 1.42), specific growth rate (3.00 vs. 2.74%), protein efficiency ratio (2.26 vs. 1.64), and survival rate (90% vs. 50%). There was a significant decrease in haematocrit and haemoglobin levels in the blood of fish fed no supplemental vitamin C. Furthermore, this group exhibited retarded growth and pathological changes such as vertebral curvature, condensation associated with fragility of the spinal bones. Supplementation of 50 mg vitamin C per kg diet was adequate to prevent the occurrence of vitamin C deficiency in H. longifilis and it was concluded that vitamin C is essential in the nutrition of these fishes.  相似文献

Clenbuterol is a relatively selective beta2-adrenergic partial agonist that has bronchodilator activity. This drug has been investigated as a potential countermeasure to microgravity- or disuse-induced skeletal muscle atrophy because of presumed anabolic effects. The purpose of this study was to: 1) analyze the anabolic effect of clenbuterol's (-)-R and (+)-S enantiomers (0.2 mg/kg) on muscles (cardiac and skeletal) and other organs; and 2) compare responses of enantiomers to the racemate (0.4 mg/kg and 1.0 mg/kg). Male Sprague Dawley rats were treated with: a) racemic clenbuterol (rac-clenbuterol, 0.4 or 1.0 mg/kg); b) enantiomers [clenbuterol (-)-R or (+)-S]; or c) vehicle (1.0 mL/kg buffered saline). Anabolic activity was determined by measuring tissue mass and protein content. HPLC teicoplanin chiral stationary phase was used to directly resolve racemic clenbuterol to its individual enantiomers. In skeletal muscle, both enantiomers had equal anabolic activity, and the effects were muscle- and anatomic region-specific in magnitude. Although the enantiomers did not affect the ventricular mass to body weight ratio, clenbuterol (+)-S induced a small but significant increase in ventricular mass. Both clenbuterol enantiomers produced significant increases in skeletal muscle mass, while being less active in producing cardiac ventricular muscle hypertrophy than the racemic mixture.  相似文献

The present study was performed to compare haemodynamic variables at baseline and the incidence of ventricular fibrillation during the early phase of ischaemia in swine during pentobarbital or medetomidine-ketamine-fentanyl anaesthesia. Twenty-two swine (mean +/- SD: 29+/- 3 kg) were anaesthetized with sodium pentobarbital (induction with 36 mg/kg intraperitoneally, and maintenance with 5-20 mg/kg/h intravenously [i.v.]) and 6 swine (27+/- 3 kg) were anaesthetized with ketamine and fentanyl (premedicated with medetomidine 0.1 mg/kg and ketamine 10 mg/kg intramuscularly, induction with ketamine 20 mg/kg and fentanyl 0.025 mg/kg i.v., and maintenance with ketamine 20 mg/kg/h and fentanyl 0.025 mg/kg/h i.v.). After a stabilization period of 30 min, the left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD) was occluded for 10 min. Haemodynamic data and occurrence of ventricular fibrillation were recorded. The ischaemic area was measured by fluorescing microspheres. Swine anaesthetized with medetomidine-ketamine-fentanyl had significantly lower heart rate, myocardial contractility, peak left ventricular pressure, arterial blood pressure, aortic blood flow, myocardial blood flow and cardiac index at baseline, than swine anaesthetized with pentobarbital. Whereas none of the swine anaesthetized with pentobarbital fibrillated during the LAD occlusion, ventricular fibrillation occurred in 83% of the animals anaesthetized with medetomidine-ketamine-fentanyl (P< 0.001). No significant difference was found in size of ischaemic area between the two groups. Thus, we show a depression in haemodynamic variables at baseline and a higher incidence of ventricular fibrillation during the early phase of ischaemia in swine anaesthetized with medetomidine-ketamine-fentanyl compared to swine anaesthetized with pentobarbital.  相似文献
