In the review one of actual problems of psychophysiology in studying a phenomenon of integration of mechanisms of regulation of state of a brain and features of the organization is discussed by a brain of cognitive activity. Basic value of results of long-term researches of academician N.P. Bechterevoj and of her school is opened in the field of neurophysiology of functional states as bases of the organization of mental activity in conditions of direct, long and sparing contact to a cortical and subcortical structures of a brain, with the help long-term intracerebral electrodes. Arguments about a commensurability and complementary value similar on amplitud-time parameters slow and superslow gradual changes of neurophysiological processes registered simultaneously in identified zones of subcortical structures of a brain and with removal from a surface of a head in cortical projections of basic integrativity of the centres are submitted. Representations about a brain as difficultly organized "swimming" many-contour, neurodinamic informational-controlling suprasystem with hierarchically, probability a principle of the organization different on speeds and intensity of processes of the ability to live participating in maintenance of a condition of rest, mental conditions and cognitive activity are formulated and argued. At the limited set universal neurodinamic "languages", the brain has the multiregister mechanism of regulation of conditions and selectivity of mechanisms of the integration providing the contribution differing on information maintenance gradual neurophysiological of processes of different levels of the structurally functional organization in formation of brain systems of maintenance of concrete kinds of cognitive activity. 相似文献

Electropolygraphic study of natural night sleep was performed in 16 adult subjects using correlation, coherent, cluster, and factor analyses. New evidence testifies to the active nature of sleep, which is especially manifest during falling asleep and transition from one stage of sleep to another. Falling asleep and deepening the sleep proved to be accompanied by intense reorganization of the cortico-subcortical relationships, which is reflected in the dynamics of cross-correlative and coherent interrelationships of the brain??s bioelectric potentials. Transition from wakefulness to sleep is a heterogeneous process, which is expressed in significant changes in the weights of factors I, II and III of the vector image of multichannel EEG at stage I (B) of sleep, which might reflect changes in the contribution of the main integrative brain system in the reorganization of the brain??s integrated activity. A considerable increase in the weight of factor I (this reflects generalized the modulating effect of the brainstem on the cortex) and a decrease in the weights of factors II and III (which are related to fronto-occipital and interhemispheric interactions) testify to the special synchronizing role of the brainstem in the development of this initial stage of sleep. Deeper sleep is accompanied by a decrease in interhemispheric EEG relationships of the anterior and inferior frontal areas of the cortex, which suggests that coordinated inactivation of the cortex in both hemispheres leads to reorganization of the activity in the frontal areas. Analysis of the average variance of cross-correlative (CC) EEG relationships demonstrates that stability of the spatial structure of interrelationships between various areas of the brain cortex increases with falling asleep at stage I (A); however, during transition to stage I (B), the CC EEG values become unstable and, with deepening sleep, the variance of these values decreases in the frontal brain cortex. With the onset of the paradoxical phase of sleep, the variance of the levels of interregional interactions increases to the maximum, especially with respect to the EEG relations of the posteriotemporal and inferiofrontal areas of both hemispheres. 相似文献

The concept of vulnerability is widely used in research ethics to signal attention to participants who require special protections in research. However, this concept is vague and under‐theorized. There is also growing concern that the dominant categorical approach to vulnerability (as exemplified by research ethics regulations and guidelines delineating vulnerable groups) is ethically problematic because of its assumptions about groups of people and is, in fact, not very guiding. An agreed‐upon strategy is to move from categorical towards analytical approaches (focused on analyzing types and sources of vulnerability) to vulnerability. Beyond this agreement, however, scholars have been advancing competing accounts of vulnerability without consensus about its appropriate operationalization in research ethics. Based on previous debates, we propose that a comprehensive account of vulnerability for research ethics must include four components: definition, normative justifications, application, and implications. Concluding that no existing accounts integrate these components in a functional (i.e., practically applicable) manner, we propose an integrative and functional account of vulnerability inspired by pragmatist theory and enriched by bioethics literature. Using an example of research on deep brain stimulation for treatment‐resistant depression, we illustrate how the integrative‐functional account can guide the analysis of vulnerability in research within a pragmatist, evidence‐based approach to research ethics. While ultimately there are concerns to be addressed in existing research ethics guidelines on vulnerability, the integrative‐functional account can serve as an analytic tool to help researchers, research ethics boards, and other relevant actors fill in the gaps in the current landscape of research ethics governance. 相似文献

The information processing by the human brain was studied in two types of cognitive activity: solving a visual-spatial task and a verbal task. One of the Wechsler tests represented a visual-spatial task, whereas a speed-reading was used as a verbal task. A correlation dimension calculated from the EEG time series, was shown to depend on individual capabilities. Introduction
Neuropsychiatric manifestations are common in childhood-onset systemic lupus erythematosus (cSLE) and often include neurocognitive dysfunction (NCD). Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) can measure brain activation during tasks that invoke domains of cognitive function impaired by cSLE. This study investigates specific changes in brain function attributable to NCD in cSLE that have potential to serve as imaging biomarkers.Methods
Formal neuropsychological testing was done to measure cognitive ability and to identify NCD. Participants performed fMRI tasks probing three cognitive domains impacted by cSLE: visuoconstructional ability (VCA), working memory, and attention. Imaging data, collected on 3-Tesla scanners, included a high-resolution T1-weighted anatomic reference image followed by a T2*-weighted whole-brain echo planar image series for each fMRI task. Brain activation using blood oxygenation level-dependent contrast was compared between cSLE patients with NCD (NCD-group, n = 7) vs. without NCD (noNCD-group, n = 14) using voxel-wise and region of interest-based analyses. The relationship of brain activation during fMRI tasks and performance in formal neuropsychological testing was assessed.Results
Greater brain activation was observed in the noNCD-group vs. NCD-group during VCA and working memory fMRI tasks. Conversely, compared to the noNCD-group, the NCD-group showed more brain activation during the attention fMRI task. In region of interest analysis, brain activity during VCA and working memory fMRI tasks was positively associated with the participants'' neuropsychological test performance. In contrast, brain activation during the attention fMRI task was negatively correlated with neuropsychological test performance. While the NCD group performed worse than the noNCD group during VCA and working memory tasks, the attention task was performed equally well by both groups.Conclusions
NCD in patients with cSLE is characterized by differential activation of functional neuronal networks during fMRI tasks probing working memory, VCA, and attention. Results suggest a compensatory mechanism allows maintenance of attentional performance under NCD. This mechanism appears to break down for the VCA and working memory challenges presented in this study. The observation that neuronal network activation is related to the formal neuropsychological testing performance makes fMRI a candidate imaging biomarker for cSLE-associated NCD. 相似文献16.
