Two anthiine fishes from the eastern tropical Atlantic are described as newHolanthias cyprinoides andAnthias helenensis. The former is distinguished from the other Atlantic species ofHolanthias in having the forked caudal fin with rounded lobes and from the Indo-Pacific species in having no elongated dorsal spines or soft rays. The latter is closely related toAnthias asperilinguis Günther (South America, Atlantic coast), but differs from it in having more pectoral fin rays and more gill rakers. The present investigation onAnthias suggests that AtlanticAnthias is a genus distinct fromPseudanthias of the Indo-Pacific.  相似文献

Two new species ofCarex (Cyperaceae) are described from southern South America.Carex transandina occurs in naturally-deposited rock talus and scree in southwestern Chile andC. austroamericana occurs in the Patagonian steppe in Chile and Argentina. In the past, specimens ofC. austroamericana have been erroneously referred toC. andina var.subabscondita Kük., and it is shown here that the latter entity is conspecific withC. nelmesiana Barros. The taxonomy ofC. nelmesiana is presented and its relationship to other members ofCarex sect.Junciformes (Boeckl.) Kük. is discussed.  相似文献

Bacidia caesiovirensS. Ekman & Holien sp. nov. is described from Norway, and the British Isles. It occurs on trunks of deciduous trees in coastal forests. This species is usually sterile and is characterized by its conspicuously blue-green, granular thallus, which contains a bluish, N+ purple pigment. It is closely related toB. biatorina(Körb.) Vain., but differs from this species in a number of features apart from thallus pigmentation: the thallus granules are smaller, the amount of hyphal projections from the surface of the thallus granules is larger, and the internal pigmentation of the apothecia is different.Bacidia auerswaldii(Hepp ex Stizenb.) Mig. has a similarly granular thallus but differs fromB. biatorinaandB. caesiovirensin having wide, fusiform spores and smaller thallus granules.Bacidia absistens(Nyl.) Arnold has an internal apothecium pigmentation similar toB. caesiovirens, but differs in having a smooth thallus, and an abundance of minute crystals in the excipulum.  相似文献

Rubus canduliger is described as a new regional bramble species belonging to the seriesDiscolores. It has been recognized in the Netherlands as a distinct species for more than 70 years but identified as the central EuropeanR. grabowskii. The latter, however, differs by its tapering prickles, regular leaves with longer petiolule of the terminal leaflet, broader, often pyramidal inflorescence, and white or pink flowers with carpels hairy at the top.R. canduliger has a well-defined range north of the Rhine river around Arnhem where it occurs in urban and other disturbed habitats. Historical events, e.g. transport of young trees in the 16th century may explain most records south of the Rhine river, 25–50 km outside the main range. The ecology and phytosociology of the new bramble are discussed. Its distribution is compared toR. trichanthus, another regional species with a similar range asR. canduliger, but occurring in more natural habitats. In pseudogamous European blackberries (Rubus sectionRubus =R. fruticosus agg.), range size is considered to be related to the age of the species. Several widespread species have disjunct distribution ranges that are suggested to be the result of long-distance dispersal by migratory birds but unintentional anthropogenic transport of seeds may be involved as well. We hypothesize that in northwestern Europe fragmentation of continuous ranges of widespread species was caused by ongoing deforestation and subsequent degradation (acidification) of originally base-rich sandy and loamy soils from the Iron Age onward. Many regional species, however, have originated and spread in the resulting man-made landscapes. A classification of range types of brambles differing in size and internal structure is presented.  相似文献

Revisionary work has revealed three new species ofCobaea:Cobaea flava of northern Peru,C. paneroi of central Mexico, andC. rotundiflora of Guatemala and extreme southeastern Mexico.Cobaea flava is most similar toC. campanulata and differs mainly in its pedicel pubescence, corolla coloration, and stamen position.Cobaea paneroi is among the large-flowered species (theCobaea scandens group) but is easily distinguished from these by its long-acuminate calyx segments.Cobaea rotundiflora most closely resemblesC. triflora. It differs mainly in its corolla coloration and wider, pubescent calyx segments.  相似文献

Schizomeris leibleinii Kütz was collected from Dehra Dun as well as from Varanasi and the observations on its morphology, asexual reproduction and cytology were made by using material from nature and in culture. Cultural studies have revealed some interesting features such as occasional branching of uniseriate as well as multiseriate filaments and extensive development of the holdfast lobes into uniseriate or multiseriate filaments which may sometimes be branched. The chromosome number for the present alga has been determined to be 14, which differs from three earlier chromosome numbers reported for the same species by previous workers. Besides differing in chromosome number, it also differs significantly in its karyotype as compared with others. Thus this alga is considered to be a new chromosomal race of S. leibleinii. The present observations which have been discussed in the light of the recent work of Campbell & Sarafis (1972) who proposed a merger of Schizomeris with Stigeoclonium tenue, do not seem to favour such a merger.  相似文献

During a trans-Saharan expedition in 1980 a number of samples were collected from stagnant and running fresh and slightly saline water bodies. One of them, collected from the Oued En-Namous in a small oasis yielded several interesting nematodes, among which was a newHalalaimus species described herein asHalalaimus algeriensis n. sp. It comes close toH. minusculus Tchesunov, 1978, but differs in tailshape, absence of males and habitat. It also resembles the marine speciesH. gracilis de Man, 1888, but differs in the relative length of the anterior setae, the absence of a lateral field and absence of males. The new species can be differentiated fromH. stammeri Schneider, 1940, the only fresh water species found hitherto, by its shorter body, more anterior and wider fovea, and the length and position of the anterior setae. The various juvenile stages can be separated on the basis of body length, foveal length and genital primordium.  相似文献

Two new Cyprinoid species are described from Phu Quoc Island, Gulf of Thailand. The first new species, Barbucca elongata sp. nova (Balitoridae), differs from the species B. diabolica, which is described previously, in more elongated body covered by small scales (50–67 perforated lateral line scales), conical snout, and coloration. The second new species, Rasbora vietnamensis sp. nova (Cyprinidae), belongs to the species group “R. trifasciata”; it differs from other species of the group in substantially reduced lateral line system with four-seven perforated scales and absence of red pigmentation on the fins and body.  相似文献

Among the cytherine ostracodes possessing caudal process a new genusKroemmelbeinia is defined by its hinge-element. In its habitus, and its structure particularly the punctate surface and the inner lamella the new genusKroemmelbeinia resembles the genusMicrocytherura G. W. Müller, but which possesses smaller valves. The characteristic hinge-elementsof Kroemmelbeinia are: both terminal teeth in the left valve crenulate, interior with 5–6 terminal teeth in the left valve crenulate, interior with 5–6 toothlets, and posterior with 6–7 connected by a narrow and finely crenulate groove. By this hinge-constructionKroemmelbeinia differs fromMicrocytherura (Tetracytherura) Ruggieri 1952 and also from other genera(Cytheropteron, Perissocytheridea) of similar outline.  相似文献

Ipomopsis sancti-spiritus, a new species in sect.Ipomopsis, from the mountains of northern New Mexico is described and illustrated. The purplish calyx, pink corolla, and a short pistil with the stigma situated below the included stamens represent a unique combination of characters. The new species is similar toI. arizonica but differs primarily in corolla color and in length of the pistil.  相似文献

The newly rediscovered specimen ofEopelobates from the uppermost Oligocène brown coal measures near Bonn, Germany, deposited since the last century in the collections of the Institut und Museum für Geologie und Paläontologie der Universität Tübingen, most probably belongs toE. anthracinus. Its small but fully ossified skeleton suggests that it is reasonable to keep the speciesE. anthracinus separate fromE. bayeri, although both species are closely related.  相似文献
