Some morphofunctional peculiarities in microcirculatory pathways of the dura mater of the human spinal cord are described. They are concerned with the structure of arteriolo-venular anastomoses through which a rather large amount of arterial blood is transported into the venous bed. Around the vessels of arterial type running at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the vessel connective tissue fibres of the dura mater, there is a tissue layer intensively impregnated with silver salts and stained PAS-positively. The venous part of the dura mater microcirculatory pathways has a large number of accessory reservoirs in the form of venous "lakes". Functional importance of the peculiarities mentioned above for the dura mater and the perimedullar apparatus is clarified.  相似文献

The hemomicrocirculatory bed in the canine pericardium is presented by arterioles, precapillaries, capillaries, postcapillaries and venules situating in various connective tissue layers of the pericardium. Certain morphological peculiarities of the structure of the hemomicrocirculatory bed links are revealed in various parts of the pericardium. As demonstrate morphometry data, the diameter of all the vessels of the hemomicrocirculatory bed in various parts of the pericardium has no precise differences. There are some fluctuations in the number of the capillaries per 1 mm2 in various parts of the pericardium. Their number is comparatively greater in the area of the vascular porta (transitional fold), in the left lateral, in the ventral and dorsal parts of the pericardium. In these parts of the pericardium the density of the capillaries is increased, the network is especially dense in the area where the pericardial transitional fold passes into the epicardium. In the pericardial microcirculatory blood bed adaptive mechanisms (glomeruli, arteriolo-venular anastomoses, microsphincters) performing regulation of the organ's blood stream, are widely presented.  相似文献

By means of corrosive, injection and tracheoscopy methods venous formations of the brain have been studied in 19 species of birds--endemical for Far East--from 12 orders. Four types of the venous sinuses structure have been distinguished in the dura mater: the first type of the structure is specific for birds that live an inactive and quiet life (blue rock pigeon, Ussuric pheasant, Tetrastes bonasia, domestic hen). The second type of the sinus structure occurs in birds, that sharply change the speed and height of their flight (Otus bakkamoena). The most manifested changes in the sinus structure are noted in waterfowl and diving birds, that spend much time in flight, in dendrocolaptidae and in day predaceous birds; in them the longitudinal sinus forms a rhombus.  相似文献

Glucose and mannitol diffusion in human dura mater   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2       下载免费PDF全文
An in vitro experimental study of the control of the human dura mater optical properties at administration of aqueous solutions of glucose and mannitol has been presented. The significant increase of the dura mater optical transmittance under action of immersion liquids has been demonstrated. Diffusion coefficients of glucose and mannitol in the human dura mater tissue at 20 degrees C have been estimated as (1.63 +/- 0.29) x 10(-6)cm(2)/s and as (1.31 +/- 0.41) x 10(-6) cm(2)/s, respectively. Experiments show that administration of immersion liquids allows for the effective control of tissue optical characteristics that make dura mater more transparent, thereby increasing the ability of light penetration through the tissue.  相似文献

Quantitative and qualitative composition of catecholamines (noradrenaline and dophamine) and indolalkylamines (serotonin and tryptamine) and their localization have been studied in cells and neural fibers of the rat dura mater. Luminiscent-cytophotometric and electron microscopic methods have revealed two types of cells depositing biogenic monoamines. As demonstrate the experiments with rausedil injection, monoaminocytes of the first type (mast cells) contain predominantly indolalkylamines and a small amount of dophamine. Monoaminocytes of the second type (chromaffin cells) synthesize mainly serotonin and, perhaps, tryptamine. In adrenergic neural fibers only noradrenaline has been found to be present.  相似文献

By means of noninjective methods of investigation a specific capillary network of a sinusoidal type, peculiar arteriolovenular anastomoses, additional reservoirs in the area of postcapillaries and venules described in the microcirculatory bed of the spinal dura mater. The peculiarity of this vascular bed is thought by the authors to be connected with liquor resorption from the subdural space of the spinal cord.  相似文献

Bioabsorbable materials are frequently used in pediatric cranial surgery, but the effects of these materials on neural tissue are not known. The authors assessed the histologic alterations to dura mater and brain tissue associated with bioabsorbable plates. Fifteen Sprague-Dawley rats were given sham cranial surgery; an additional 30 underwent placement of 8 x 8-mm polylactic acid/poly-glycolic acid plates. The rats were assessed weekly for neurologic or behavioral changes suggesting neural damage. A portion of each group was killed at 3, 6, and 12 months for histologic analysis of cranium, dura mater, and brain tissue by standard hematoxylin and eosin stain. None of the animals showed any behavioral changes or neurologic deficits. The plates were gradually hydrolyzed over the study period, and all had disappeared by 12 months. The histologic examination showed fibrous encapsulation around the plates, accompanied by foreign body giant cell reaction and calcification. Focal gliosis, where evident, was mild and confined primarily to the superficial cortex of the brain beneath the plate. The infiltration of the dura mater and underlying brain parenchyma was negligible. In conclusion, the neurologic and histologic effect of bioabsorbable plates on neural tissue may be considered negligible in the early postoperative period.  相似文献

Local mechanical anisotropy in human cranial dura mater allografts.   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Human cranial dura mater (CDM) allograft's success as a repair biomaterial is partly due to its high mechanical strength, which facilitates its ability to form water-tight barriers and resist high in-vivo mechanical loads. Previous studies on CDM allograft mechanical behavior used large test specimens and concluded that the allograft was mechanically isotropic. However, we have quantified CDM microstructure using small angle light scattering (SALS) and found regions of well-aligned fibers displaying structural symmetry between the right and left halves (Jimenez et al., 1998). The high degree of fiber alignment in these regions suggests that they are mechanically anisotropic. However, identification of these regions using SALS requires irreversible tissue dehydration, which may affect mechanical properties. Instead, we utilized CDM structural symmetry to estimate the fiber architecture of one half of the CDM using computer graphics to flip the SALS fiber architecture map of the corresponding half about the plane of symmetry. Test specimens (20 mm x 4 mm) were selected parallel and perpendicular to the preferred fiber directions and subjected to uniaxial mechanical failure testing. CDM allografts were found to be locally anisotropic, having an ultimate tensile strength (UTS) parallel to the fibers of 12.76 +/- 1.65 MPa, and perpendicular to the fibers of 5.21 +/- 1.01 MPa (mean +/- sem). These results indicate that uniaxial mechanical tests on large samples used in previous studies tended to mask the local anisotropic nature of the smaller constituent sections. The testing methods established in this study can be used in the evaluation of new CDM processing methods and post-implant allograft mechanical integrity.  相似文献

The formation of the organospecific hemomicrocirculatory bed of the ovaries and testes has been studied by a complex of light, transmissive and scanning electron microscopy in 3--9-month-old human fetuses. The change of the diffusive protocapillary bed is secured by: 1) reduction of some protocapillaries; 2) appearance of secondary capillaries from the growth buds of the preceeding microvessels; 3) formation of arteriolar and venular links of the hemomicrocirculatory bed from the protocapillaries at the expense of differentiation of the developing paravasal connective tissue into cellular elements of the muscular and adventitial tunics. The secondary blood capillaries of the human gonads are predominantly formed intraendothelially. During the prenatal ontogenesis presence of the secondary blood capillaries of somatic uninterrupted type is specific for the human gonads.  相似文献

Sinuses of the dura mater were studied in 50 preparations of the venous system in mongrel dogs--10 moist, 40 corrosive prepared from plastics AKP-7 and AKP-15. Sinuses of the fornix--superior, sagittal, straight, transversal, occipital sinusal gutter, and sinuses of the basis--cavernous, intracavernous, petrous-basal, occipital and marginal were detected and their connections were described. Emissary and diploid veins and extracranial venous plexus are demonstrated to mediate a close connection between the sinuses of the dura mater. Common features in the sinusal structure of the human dura mater and those of the animals studied are noted; comparative-anatomical differences which should be taken into account when planning the experiment are presented.  相似文献

In 110 hearts of corpses of fetuses beginning from 7 months of age and those of persons up to the age of 86 years, using various histological techniques, as well as in 20 canine hearts, using certain histochemical techniques, interrelations of the hemomicrocirculatory bed, myocardiocytes, elements of the connective tissue have been studied. Application of correlative and analysis of variance makes it possible to reveal direction and significance of the connections between the structural components of the atrial walls, as well as influence of age on the parameters investigated. The interrelations and interconnections between separate components of the atrial structural organization are complex, they change in the process of individual development, reflect development of the atrial wall and the heart as a whole.  相似文献

Accurate biomechanical properties of the human dura mater are required for computational models and to fabricate artificial substitutes for transplantation and surgical training purposes. Here, a systematic literature review was performed to summarize the biomechanical properties of the human dura mater that are reported in the literature. Furthermore, anthropometric data, information regarding the mechanically tested samples, and specifications with respect to the used mechanical testing setup were extracted. A meta-analysis was performed to obtain the pooled mean estimate for the elastic modulus, ultimate tensile strength, and strain at maximum force. A total of 17 studies were deemed eligible, which focused on human cranial and spinal dura mater in 13 and 4 cases, respectively. Pooled mean estimates for the elastic modulus (n?=?448), the ultimate tensile strength (n?=?448), and the strain at maximum force (n?=?431) of 68.1 MPa, 7.3 MPa and 14.4% were observed for native cranial dura mater. Gaps in the literature related to the extracted data were identified and future directions for mechanical characterizations of human dura mater were formulated. The main conclusion is that the most commonly used elastic modulus value of 31.5 MPa for the simulation of the human cranial dura mater in computational head models is likely an underestimation and an oversimplification given the morphological diversity of the tissue in different brain regions. Based on the here provided meta-analysis, a stiffer linear elastic modulus of 68 MPa was observed instead. However, further experimental data are essential to confirm its validity.

During development and growth of the neurocranium, the dura mater regulates events in the underlying brain and overlying skull by the release of soluble factors and cellular activity. Morphogenesis of the cranial bones and sutures is dependent on tissue interactions with the dura mater, which control the size and shape of bones as well as sutural patency. Development of the brain also involves interactions with dura mater: secretion of stromal derived factor 1 (SDF-1) is a critical event in directing migration of the external granular layer precursors of the cerebellar cortex and the Cajal-Retzius (CR) cells of the cerebral cortex. The dura mater is also required for growth of the hippocampal dentate gyrus. Wnt1Cre/R26R transgenic reporter mice were used to study the origin and fates of the cells of dura mater during head development. The dura mater of mammals is derived entirely from the cranial neural crest. Beginning around neonatal day 10 (N 10), the dura mater is infiltrated by cells derived from paraxial mesoderm, which later come to predominate. Over the course of infancy, the neural crest-derived cells of the dura mater become sequestered in niche-like distribution characteristic of stem cells. Simultaneously, dura mater cells underlying the sagittal suture migrate upward into the mesodermally-derived mesenchyme separating the parietal bones. Although initially the parietal bones are formed entirely from paraxial mesoderm, the cellular composition gradually becomes chimeric and is populated mainly by neural crest-derived cells by N 30. This occurs as a consequence of osteoblastic differentiation at the dura mater interface and intravasation of neural crest-derived osteoclastic and other hematopoietic precursors. The isolated cells of the dura mater are multipotent in vitro, giving rise to osteoblasts, neuronal cells and other derivatives characteristic of cranial neural crest, possibly reflecting the multipotent nature of dura mater cells in vivo.  相似文献
