In order to investigate purin and primidin metabolism pathways in hepatitis, adenosine deaminase (ADA) and guanosine deaminase (GDA) activities in sera of patients with different types and manifestations of viral hepatitis disease (A, B, C, D, E, chronic, acute) were investigated and compared with the control group of healthy individuals. Hepatitis cases were classified with respect to their serological findings and clinics. When compared all the hepatitis cases with the controls, levels of aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, and alkaline phosphatase enzymes, as well as ADA and GDA, were significantly higher than the control group (p<0.01). Levels of ADA and GDA in hepatitis cases were determined as 26.07 11.98 IU/l and 2.37 1.91 IU/l, respectively. When compared their ADA and GDA levels amongst the classified hepatitis groups, there was no difference in ADA levels amongst cases (p>0.05). However, GDA levels in hepatitis A group were closed to the controls. Increase in serum ADA activities in hepatitis forms may be dependent on and reflect the increase in phagocytic activity of macrophages and maturation of T-lymphocytes, and may be valuable in monitoring in viral hepatitis cases.  相似文献

The immunofluorescence and immunoperoxidase techniques have been applied to erythrocytes from the periferal blood of beta thalassemia patients, coated with rabbit anti human erythrocyte membrane antibodies. Callitrichid hepatitis (CH) is an acute, frequently fatal viral hepatitis which affects members of the primate family Callitrichidae (R. J. Montali, E. C. Ramsay, C. B. Stephensen, M. Worley, J. A. Davis, and K. V. Holmes, J. Infect. Dis. 160:759-765, 1989; E. C. Ramsay, R. J. Montali, M. Worley, C. B. Stephensen, and K. V. Holmes, J. Zoo Wildlife Med. 20:178-183, 1989). Outbreaks of the disease occur in zoos and animal parks. In this study, CH-specific antigens were identified in the livers of infected animals by using immune sera from primates with CH and CH-exposed asymptomatic animals. Three CH-specific antigens with apparent molecular masses of 34, 54, and 65 kDa were identified. A polyclonal antiserum was raised against the 54-kDa antigen. These antigens were not found in the livers of uninfected animals and may be viral proteins. Our results suggest that at least five of the six outbreaks of CH considered here were caused by the same virus or by an antigenically related virus.  相似文献

The prolonged (up to 2 years) complex observation of 11 rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) with spontaneous hepatitis A and 14 rhesus macaques with experimental hepatitis A developing after their intravenous and/or oral infection with human hepatitis A virus (HAV). Both natural and experimental infection took a chronic course (15-18 months). In 13 monkeys showing morphological changes in the liver during the whole period of the disease elevated enzyme levels in the blood and virus shedding in feces were periodically observed. Only one monkey had acute hepatitis A which lasted 1.5 months. In 11 monkeys the disease took an undulating course with 1-2 relapses when virological, biochemical and morphological signs of the disease could be detected. Seroconversion was observed in all monkeys. Anti-HAV IgM antibodies were retained for not more than 6-7 months and total anti-HAV antibodies, during the whole period of observation. Relapses were found to induce no antibody formation. Evidence on the prolonged (up to 12-16 months) persistence of HAV in primates was obtained for the first time.  相似文献

Oxidation of GSH by ozone yielded 60% GSSG. Exposure of human erythrocytes to ozone caused oxidation of intracellular GSH. Between 4 and 6% of the administered ozone caused GSH oxidation. No more than 30% of the GSH oxidized by ozone could be accounted for by GSSG in the erythrocyte. The GSSG formed in the erythrocyte was rapidly reduced and the pentose phosphate pathway was stimulated. When GSH and unsealed erythrocyte ghosts were simultaneously exposed to ozone, 6–11% of the oxidized GSH could be accounted for as mixed disulfide of protein and GSH. When GSH and cytoplasmic proteins from the erythrocyte were simultaneously exposed to ozone, 5–7% of the oxidized GSH could be accounted for as mixed disulfide. Ozone generated membrane protein disulfide crosslinks when erythrocyte ghosts, but not intact erythrocytes, were exposed. Ozone had no effect on glucose uptake and did not change oxyhemoglobin content of the erythrocytes.  相似文献

Serum samples obtained from 44 patients with virus A hepatitis, 23 patients with virus B hepatitis, 65 patients with virus non A, non B hepatitis and 100 healthy adults were studied for the presence of Epstein-Barr (EB) virus in the indirect immunofluorescence test. In this work lymphoblastoid cell lines PH3-J-1 and CN37 were used. Among patients with different forms of hepatitis, the statistically significant elevation of the titers of antibodies to EB virus was detected only in the group of patients with virus non A, non B hepatitis, and in 6 cases the etiological role of EB virus was confirmed by serological and hematological methods.  相似文献
