The BaZrSi3O9:Cr3+ phosphors were prepared by a high temperature solid state method. Their structures were confirmed with XRD and their luminescence properties were investigated. Under excitation at 455 nm, BaZrSi3O9:Cr3+ phosphors exhibited a broad near infrared emission band peaked at 800 nm, which was assigned to the 4T24A2 transition of Cr3+. The near infrared emission intensity reached a maximum at Cr3+ concentration of 0.7%. There was a concentration quenching phenomenon of Cr3+ in BaZrSi3O9 matrix and the corresponding concentration quenching mechanism was investigated. With efficient near infrared emission in the range of 700–1000 nm, BaZrSi3O9:Cr3+ phosphors may find applications in solar energy conversion.  相似文献

A series of Ce3+‐activated blue‐emitting phosphors BaY2Si3O10 (BYSO) was designed and synthesized by a conventional solid‐state method. Upon ultraviolet light (250–370 nm) excitation, the obtained phosphors showed an intense blue emission band centered at 400–427 nm depending on doping concentration, and corresponding to the 5d→4f transition of Ce3+. The effects of doping concentration on crystal structure, emitting color, photoluminescence and photoluminescence excitation spectra, as well as the concentration quenching mechanism were studied in detail. The optimal doping concentration of Ce3+ in this phosphor was demonstrated to be about 0.75% and the concentration quenching mechanism can be ascribed to electric dipole–dipole interactions with a critical distance of ~38 Å. These fine luminescence properties indicate that BYSO:Ce3+ may be a potential blue phosphor for full‐color ultra‐violet (UV) white light emitting diodes (WLEDs).  相似文献

A series of Ca2Mg0.25Al1.5Si1.25O7:Ce3+/Eu2+/Tb3+ phosphors was been prepared via a conventional high temperature solid‐state reaction and their luminescence properties were studied. The emission spectra of Ca2Mg0.25Al1.5Si1.25O7:Ce3+,Eu2+ and Ca2Mg0.25Al1.5Si1.25O7:Ce3+,Tb3+ phosphors show not only a band due to Ce3+ ions (409 nm) but also as a band due to Eu2+ (520 nm) and Tb3+ (542 nm) ions. More importantly, the effective energy transfer from Ce3+ to Eu2+ and Tb3+ ions was confirmed and investigated by emission/excitation spectra and luminescent decay behaviors. Furthermore, the energy level scheme and energy transfer mechanism were investigated and were demonstrated to be of resonant type via dipole–dipole (Ce3+ to Eu2+) and dipole–quadrupole (Ce3+ to Tb3+) reactions, respectively. Under excitation at 350 nm, the emitting color could be changed from blue to green by adjusting the relative doping concentration of Ce3+ and Eu2+ ions as well as Ce3+ and Tb3+ ions. The above results indicate that Ca2Mg0.25Al1.5Si1.25O7:Ce3+,Eu2+/Tb3+ are promising single‐phase blue‐to‐green phosphors for application in phosphor conversion white‐light‐emitting diodes. In the recent few years, Eu2+- and Mn4+-activated phosphors are widely used as potential colour converters for indoor plant cultivation lighting application due to their marvellous luminescence characteristics as well as low cost. In this investigation, we synthesized novel red colour-emitting Ca(2−x)Mg2(SO4)3:xmol% Eu2+ (x = 0–1.0 mol%) phosphors via a solid-state reaction method in a reducing atmosphere. The photoluminescence (PL) excitation spectra of synthesized phosphors exhibited a broad excitation band with three excitation bands peaking at 349 nm, 494 nm, and 554 nm. Under these excitations, emission spectra exhibited a broad band in the red colour region at ~634 nm. The PL emission intensity was measured for different concentrations of Eu2+. The maximum Eu2+ doping concentration in the Ca2Mg2(SO4)3 host was observed for 0.5 mol%. According to Dexter theory, it was determined that dipole–dipole interaction was responsible for the concentration quenching. The luminous red colour emission of the sample was confirmed using Commission international de l'eclairage colour coordinates. The results of PL excitation and emission spectra of the prepared phosphors were well matched with excitation and emission wavelengths of phytochrome PR. Therefore, from the entire investigation and obtained results it was concluded that the synthesized Ca0.995Mg2(SO4)3:0.5mol%Eu2+ phosphor has huge potential for plant cultivation application.  相似文献

Ca2Al2O5:Eu3+, Ca2Al2O5:Dy3+ and Ca2Al2O5:Tb3+ phosphors were synthesized using a combustion synthesis method. The prepared phosphors were characterized by X‐ray powder diffraction for phase purity, by scanning electron microscopy for morphology, and by photoluminescence for emission and excitation measurements. The Ca2Al2O5:Eu3+ phosphors could be efficiently excited at 396 nm and showed red emission at 594 nm and 616 nm due to 5D0 → 7F1 and 5D0 → 7F2 transitions. Dy3+‐doped phosphors showed blue emission at 482 nm and yellow emission at 573 nm. Ca2Al2O5:Tb3+ phosphors showed emission at 545 nm when excited at 352 nm. Concentration quenching occurred in both Eu3+ and Dy3+phosphors at 0.5 mol%. Photoluminescence results suggested that the aluminate‐based phosphor could be a potential candidate for application in environmentally friendly based lighting technologies.  相似文献

Dy3+‐doped Y3Al5O12 phosphors were prepared at a relatively low temperature using molten salt synthesis. The phase of the prepared Dy3+‐doped Y3Al5O12 phosphors was confirmed using X‐ray powder diffraction. Results indicated that Dy3+ doping did not change the Y3Al5O12 phase. Following excitation at 352 nm, emission spectra of the Dy3+‐doped Y3Al5O12 phosphors consisted of blue, yellow, and red emission bands. The influence of Dy3+ concentration and excitation wavelength on emission was investigated. The ratio of yellow light to blue light varied with change in Dy3+ doping concentration, due to changes in the structure around Dy3+. Emission intensities also changed when the excitation wavelength was changed. This variation is luminescence generated a system for tunable white light for Dy3+‐doped Y3Al5O12 phosphors.  相似文献

Ba3Al2O5Cl2:Eu2+ phosphor was prepared by combustion synthesis (CS). The prepared phosphor was excited at 329 nm; the phosphors shows an efficient bluish‐green wide‐band emission centred at 490 nm, which originates from the 4f6d1 → 4f7 transition of Eu2+ ions. The excitation spectra of the phosphors have a band centred at 329 nm. It was also characterized by XRD, FT–IR for confirmation of phase purity, and FT–IR analysis indicated the vibrations of metal–oxygen (M–O) groups. SEM shows the morphology of the phosphor at the submicron scale. The results indicate that Ba3Al2O5Cl2:Eu2+ phosphor may be applicable for solid‐state lighting purposes. Europium ion (Eu2+) doped Sr2SiO4 phosphors with greenish‐yellow emission were synthesized using microwave‐assisted sintering. The phase structure and photoluminescence (PL) properties of the obtained phosphor samples were investigated. The PL excitation spectra of the Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ phosphors exhibited a broad band in the range of 260 nm to 485 nm with a maximum at 361 nm attributed to the 5f‐4d allowed transition of the Eu2+ ions. Under an excitation at 361 nm, the Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ phosphor exhibited a greenish‐yellow emission peak at 541 nm with an International‐Commission‐on‐Illumination (CIE) chromaticity of (0.3064, 0.4772). The results suggest that the microwave‐assisted sintering method is promising for the synthesis of phosphors owing to the decreased sintering time without the use of additional reductive agents.  相似文献

Sr4Al2O7:Eu3+ and Sr4Al2O7:Dy3+ phosphors with alkali metal substitution were prepared using a sol–gel method. The effects of a charge compensator R on the structure and luminescence of Sr4Al2O7:Re3+,R+ (Re = Eu and Dy; R = Li, Na and K) phosphors were investigated in detail. Upon heating to 1400°C, the structure of the prepared samples was that of the standard phase of Sr4Al2O7. Under ultraviolet excitation, all Sr4Al2O7:Eu3+,R+ samples exhibited several narrow emission peaks ranging from 550 to 700 nm due to the 4f → 4f transition of Eu3+ ions. All Sr4Al2O7:Dy3+,R+ phosphors showed two emission peaks at 492 and 582 nm, due to the 4F9/2 → 6H15/2 and 4F9/2 → 6H13/2 transitions of Dy3+ ions, respectively. The luminescence intensity of Sr4Al2O7:Re3+,R+ (Re = Eu and Dy; R = Li, Na and K) phosphors improved markedly upon the addition of charge compensators, promoting their application in white light‐emitting diodes with a near‐ultraviolet chip.  相似文献

Ca2MgSi2O7:Ce3+, Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ and Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Ce3+ phosphors were prepared using the solid‐state reaction method. The crystal structures of the sintered phosphors were of melilite type, which has a tetragonal crystallography. The chemical compositions of the sintered phosphors was confirmed by energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy. The different thermoluminescence kinetic parameters [activation energy (E), frequency factor (s) and order of the kinetics (b)] of these phosphors were evaluated and compared using the peak shape method. Under ultraviolet excitation, the emission spectra of both Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ and Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Ce3+ phosphors were composed of a broad emission band peaking at 530 nm. When the Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ phosphor is co‐doped with Ce3+ ions, photoluminescence, afterglow and mechanoluminescence intensity was strongly enhanced. Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ showed some afterglow with a short persist time. On incorporation of Ce3+, efficient energy transfer from Ce3+ to Eu2+ was found and the emission intensity of Eu2+ was enhanced. The mechanoluminescence intensities of Ca2MgSi2O7:Ce3+, Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ and Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Ce3+ phosphors increased proportionally increased with the increase in impact velocity, which suggests that these phosphors can be used as sensors to detect stress in an object.  相似文献

Dy3+ and Eu3+ activated Ca3Y2Si3O12 phosphors were synthesized by the solid‐state synthesis method. The phosphors were characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), mechanoluminescence (ML), thermoluminescence (TL) and photoluminescence (PL) to determine structure and luminescence. For ML glow curves, only one peak was observed, as only one type of luminescence centre was formed during irradiation. The Ca3Y2Si3O12:Dy3+ TL glow curve showed a single peak at 151.55°C and the Ca3Y2Si3O12:Eu3+ TL glow curve peaked at 323°C with a small peak at 192°C, indicating that two types of traps were activated. The trapping parameters for both the samples were calculated using Chen's peak shape method. Dy3+‐activated Ca3Y2Si3O12 showed emission at 482 and 574 nm when excited by a 351 nm excitation wavelength, whereas the Eu3+‐activated Ca3Y2Si3O12 phosphor PL emission spectra showed emission peaks at 613 nm, 591 nm, 580 nm when excited at 395 nm wavelength. When excited at 466 nm, prominent emission peaks were observed at their respective positions with very slight shifts. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

BaO‐B2O3‐P2O5 glasses doped with a fixed concentration of Tb3+ ions and varying concentrations of Al2O3 were synthesized, and the influence of the Al3+ ion concentration on the luminescence efficiency of the green emission of Tb3+ ions was investigated. The optical absorption, excitation, luminescence spectra and fluorescence decay curves of these glasses were recorded at ambient temperature. The emission spectra of terbium ions when excited at 393 nm exhibited two main groups of bands, corresponding to 5D3 → 7Fj (blue region) and 5D4 → 7Fj (green region). From these spectra, the radiative parameters, viz., spontaneous emission probability A, total emission probability AT, radiative lifetime τ and fluorescent branching ratio β, of different transitions originating from the 5D4 level of Tb3+ ions were evaluated based on the Judd‐Ofelt theory. A clear increase in the quantum efficiency and luminescence of the green emission of Tb3+ ions corresponding to 5D4 → 7F5 transition is observed with increases in the concentration of Al2O3 up to 3.0 mol%. The improvement in emission is attributed to the de‐clustering of terbium ions by Al3+ ions and also to the possible admixing of wave functions of opposite parities. In this work, we report the preparation, characterization, comparison and luminescence mechanisms of Eu2+‐doped and Eu2+,Dy3+‐co‐doped Ba2MgSi2O7 (BMSO) phosphors. Prepared phosphors were synthesized via a high temperature solid‐state reaction method. All prepared phosphors appeared white. The phase structure, particle size, and elemental analysis were analyzed using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy‐dispersive X‐ray (EDX) analysis. The luminescence properties of the phosphors were investigated by thermoluminescence (TL) and photoluminescence (PL). The PL excitation and emission spectra of Ba2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ showed the peak to be around 381 nm and 490 nm respectively. The PL excitation spectrum of Ba2MgSi2O7:Eu2+Dy3+ showed the peak to be around 341 nm and 388 nm, and the emission spectrum had a broad band around 488 nm. These emissions originated from the 4f6 5d1 to 4f7 transition of Eu2+. TL analysis revealed that the maximum TL intensity was found at 5 mol% of Eu2+ doping in Ba2MgSi2O7 phosphors after 15 min of ultraviolet (UV) light exposure. TL intensity was increased when Dy3+ ions were co‐doped in Ba2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ and maximum TL intensity was observed for 2 mol% of Dy3+. TL emission spectra of Ba1.95MgSi2O7:0.05Eu2+ and Ba1.93MgSi2O7:0.05Eu2+,0.02Dy3+ phosphors were found at 500 nm. TL intensity increased with UV exposure time up to 15 min, then decreased for the higher UV radiation dose for both Eu doping and Eu,Dy co‐doping. The trap depths were calculated to be 0.54 eV for Ba1.95MgSi2O7:0.05Eu2+ and 0.54 eV and 0.75 eV for Ba1.93MgSi2O7:0.05Eu2+,0.02Dy3+ phosphors. It was observed that co‐doping with small amounts of Dy3+ enhanced the thermoluminescence properties of Ba2MgSi2O7 phosphor. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. A novel multi-color emitting Na2YMg2V3O12:Sm3+ phosphor was synthesized using a solid-state reaction, and its crystal structure, luminescence properties, and thermal stability were studied. Charge transfer within the (VO4)3− groups in the Na2YMg2V3O12 host led to a broad emission band between 400 and 700 nm, with a maximum at 530 nm. The Na2Y1−xMg2V3O12:xSm3+ phosphors exhibited a multi-color emission band under 365 nm near-ultraviolet (near-UV) light, consisting of the green emission of the (VO4)3− groups and sharp emission peaks at 570 nm (yellow), 618 nm (orange), 657 nm (red), and 714 nm (deep red) of Sm3+ ions. The optimal doping concentration of Sm3+ ions was found to be 0.05 mol%, and the dipole–dipole (d–d) interaction was primarily responsible for the concentration quenching phenomenon. Using the acquired Na2YMg2V3O12:Sm3+ phosphors, commercial BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+ blue phosphor, and a near-UV light-emitting diode (LED) chip, a white-LED lamp was designed and packaged. It produced bright neutral white light, manifesting a CIE coordinate of (0.314, 0.373), a color rendering index (CRI) of 84.9, and a correlated color temperature (CCT) of 6377 K. These findings indicate the potential of Na2YMg2V3O12:Sm3+ phosphor to be used as a multi-color component for solid-state illumination.  相似文献

A near‐ultraviolet (NUV) blue‐emitting phosphor Ba9Al2Si6O24:Ce3+ (BAS:Ce3+) was synthesized using a high‐temperature solid‐state reaction. BAS:Ce3+ had an excitation band peak at about 328 nm and showed a blue emission band. The NUV‐blue emission band had a peak at about 386 nm with a band width of about 60 nm, attributed to the 5d–4f transition of Ce3+. Fluorescent decay showed an exponential model with a lifetime of 27.2 nsec. At 150°C, the luminescence intensity decreased to 68.7% compared with the intensity at room temperature.  相似文献

This article focuses on the effect of monovalent cation doping on the optical properties of rare earth (RE = Eu3+, Tb3+) co-doped Ca14Zn6Al10O35 which has been synthesized by a low temperature combustion method. Crystalline phase of the Ca14Zn6Al10O35 phosphor was examined and confirmed by X-ray diffraction measurement. Under near-ultraviolet light excitation Eu3+-doped Ca14Zn6Al10O35 phosphor exhibit characterization of Eu3+ emission bands that are located at a maximum wavelength (λmax) of approximately 470 nm and other peaks centred at 593 nm and 615 nm, respectively. With Tb3+-doped Ca14Zn6Al10O35 phosphor showing a green emission band centred at 544 nm under near-ultraviolet range. Furthermore, we studied the energy transfer process in Eu3+/Tb3+pair and enhancement in photoluminescence (PL) intensity with doping different charge compensation. Here we obtained the optimum PL emission intensity of the phosphor in broad and intense visible spectral range which may be significant for the fabrication of white light emitting diodes (WLEDs).  相似文献

Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor was prepared by the solid‐state reaction method under a weak reducing atmosphere. The obtained phosphor was characterized using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDX) and Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR) techniques. The phase structure of the Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor was akermanite type, which is a member of the melilite group. The surface morphology of the sintered phosphor was not uniform and phosphors aggregated tightly. EDX and FT‐IR spectra confirm the elements present in the Ca2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor. Under UV excitation, a broadband emission spectrum was found. The emission spectra observed in the green region centered at 535 nm, which is due to the 4f–5d transition. The mechanoluminescence (ML) intensity of the prepared phosphor increased linearly with increases in the mechanical load. The ML spectra were similar to the photoluminescence (PL), which indicates that ML is emitted from the same emitting center of Eu2+ ions as PL. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Eu2+‐doped Sr2SiO4 phosphor with Ca2+/Zn2+ substitution, (Sr1–xMx)2SiO4:Eu2+ (M = Ca, Zn), was prepared using a high‐temperature solid‐state reaction method. The structure and luminescence properties of Ca2+/Zn2+ partially substituted Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ phosphors were investigated in detail. With Ca2+ or Zn2+ added to the silicate host, the crystal phase could be transformed between the α‐form and the β‐form of the Sr2SiO4 structure. Under UV excitation at 367 nm, all samples exhibit a broad band emission from 420 to 680 nm due to the 4f65d1 → 4f7 transition of Eu2+ ions. The broad emission band consists of two peaks at 482 and 547 nm, which correspond to Eu2+ ions occupying the ten‐fold oxygen‐coordinated Sr.(I) site and the nine‐fold oxygen‐coordinated Sr.(II) site, respectively. The luminescence properties, including the intensity and lifetime of Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ phosphors, improved remarkably on Ca2+/Zn2+ addition, and promote its application in white light‐emitting diodes. Sr3MgSi2O8:Ce3+, Dy3+ phosphors were prepared by a solid‐state reaction technique and the photoluminescence properties were investigated. The emission spectra show not only a band due to Ce3+ ions (403 nm) but also as a band due to Dy3+ ions (480, 575 nm) (UV light excitation). The photoluminescence properties reveal that effective energy transfer occurs in Ce3+/Dy3+ co‐doped Sr3MgSi2O8 phosphors, and the co‐doping of Ce3+ could enhance the emission intensity of Dy3+ to a certain extent by transferring its energy to Dy3+. The Ce3+/Dy3+ energy transfer was investigated by emission/excitation spectra, and photoluminescence decay behaviors. In Sr2.94MgSi2O8:0.01Ce3+, 0.05Dy3+ phosphors, the fluorescence lifetime of Dy3+ (from 3.35 to 27.59 ns) is increased whereas that of Ce3+ is greatly decreased (from 43.59 to 13.55 ns), and this provides indirect evidence of the Ce3+ to Dy3+ energy transfer. The varied emitted color of Sr3MgSi2O8:Ce3+, Dy3+ phosphors from blue to white were achieved by altering the concentration ratio of Ce3+ and Dy3+. These results indicate Sr3MgSi2O8:Ce3+, Dy3+ may be as a candidate phosphor for white light‐emitting diodes. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Novel narrow band UVB‐emitting phosphors, BaMgF4:Gd3+ and SrMgF4:Gd3+ phosphors, were synthesized using a co‐precipitation synthesis method. X‐Ray diffraction analysis was carried out to confirm compound formation, phase purity and crystallinity of the phosphor. At 274 nm excitation, phosphors show a sharp narrow band emission at 313 nm that can be assigned to 6P7/2 → 8S7/2 transition of the Gd3+ ion. With increasing dopant concentration, intensity enhances and then decreases after a certain concentration, which is an indication of concentration quenching taking place in the phosphor. Scanning electron microscopy images of the phosphor show agglomerated particles in the sub‐micron range. Particles range in size from 600 to 800 nm. Electron paramagnetic resonance studies of the phosphors were carried out to detect radicals present in the prepared phosphor. With narrow band UVB emission, phosphor seems to be a good candidate for UV phototherapy application. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
