Hexafluoropropylidene polybenzimidazole (F6PBI) was synthesized with excellent chemical stability and improved solubility. When doped with phosphoric acid, however, the F6PBI membranes showed plastic deformation at elevated temperatures. Further efforts were made to covalently crosslink F6PBI membranes with chloromethyl polysulfone as a polymeric crosslinker. Comparing with linear F6PBI and mPBI membranes, the polymer crosslinked F6PBI membranes exhibited little organo solubility, excellent stability towards the radical oxidation, high resistance to swelling in concentrated phosphoric acid solutions, and improved mechanical strength, especially at elevated temperatures. The superior characteristics of crosslinked membranes allowed for higher acid doping levels and therefore increased proton conductivity as well as significantly improved fuel cell performance and durability, as compared with the linear F6PBI and mPBI membranes.  相似文献

Advanced 2D materials have spurred great interest as a new paradigm in pursuing improved energy storage performance. Herein, for the first time, antimonene is utilized as an effective active component for constructing highly deformable and editable freestanding film electrodes, as the basis of a supercapacitor with record‐breaking electrode performance. The insertion of antimonene is able to improve the environmental stability of the antimonene/MXene composite electrode and remarkably enhance the energy storage capability in both protic and neutral electrolytes. Notably, an ultrahigh specific volumetric capacitance of 4255 F cm?3 is achieved by the electrode tested in a1 m H2SO4 electrolyte, which represents the state‐of‐the‐art value reported to date for supercapacitor electrodes based on MXenes. The flexible supercapacitors constructed by the composite electrode, also demonstrate highly competitive energy and power densities: 459.75 mWh cm?3 and 3.12 W cm?3 for the asymmetrical one with a much widened potential window of 2 V in neutral electrolyte; 112.52 mWh cm?3 and 1 W cm?3 for the symmetrical configuration with an outstanding capacitance of 1265 F cm?3 in acidic media. This work sheds new light on the fabrication of high‐performance supercapacitor electrodes with functionalities in different electrolyte media and various device configurations.  相似文献

Hydrocarbon ionomers bear the potential to significantly lower the material cost and increase the efficiency of proton‐exchange membrane water electrolyzers (PEMWE). However, no fully hydrocarbon membrane electrode assembly (MEA) with a performance comparable to Nafion‐MEAs has been reported. PEMWE‐MEAs are presented comprising sPPS as membrane and electrode binder reaching 3.5 A cm?2 at 1.8 V and thus clearly outperforming state‐of‐the‐art Nafion‐MEAs (N115 as membrane, 1.5 A cm?2 at 1.8 V) due to a significantly lower high frequency resistance (57 ± 4 mΩ cm² vs 161 ± 7 mΩ cm²). Additionally, pure sPPS‐membranes show a three times lower gas crossover (<0.3 mA cm?2) than Nafion N115‐membranes (>1.1 mA cm?2) in a fully humidified surrogate test. Furthermore, more than 80 h of continuous operation is shown for sPPS‐MEAs in a preliminary durability test (constant current hold at 1 A cm?2 at 80 °C). These results rely on the unique transport properties of sulfonated poly(phenylene sulfone) (sPPS) that combines high proton conductivity with low gas crossover.  相似文献

The environmental benefits of fuel cells and electrolyzers have become increasingly recognized in recent years. Fuel cells and electrolyzers that can operate at intermediate temperatures (300–450 °C) require, in principle, neither the precious metal catalysts that are typically used in polymer‐electrolyte‐membrane systems nor the costly heat‐resistant alloys used in balance‐of‐plant components of high‐temperature solid oxide electrochemical cells. These devices require an electrolyte with high ionic conductivity, typically more than 0.01 S cm?1, and high chemical stability. To date, however, high ionic conductivities have been found in chemically unstable materials such as CsH2PO4, In‐doped SnP2O7, BaH2, and LaH3?2xOx. Here, fast and stable proton conduction in 60‐at% Sc‐doped barium zirconate polycrystal, with a total conductivity of 0.01 S cm?1 at 396 °C for 200 h is demonstrated. Heavy doping of Sc in barium zirconate simultaneously enhances the proton concentration, bulk proton diffusivity, specific grain boundary conductivity, and grain growth. An accelerated stability test under a highly concentrated and humidified CO2 stream using in situ X‐ray diffraction shows that the perovskite phase is stable over 240 h at 400 °C under 0.98 atm of CO2. These results show great promises as an electrolyte in solid‐state electrochemical devices operated at intermediate temperatures.  相似文献

The luminescent properties of europium (Eu)‐ and dysprosium (Dy)‐co‐doped K3Ca2(SO4)3Cl halosulfate phosphors were analyzed. This paper reports the photoluminescence (PL) properties of K3Ca2(SO4)3Cl microphosphor doped with Eu and Dy and synthesized using a cost‐effective wet chemical method. The phosphors were characterized by X‐ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The CIE coordinates were calculated to display the color of the phosphor. PL emission of the prepared samples show peaks at 484 nm (blue), 575 nm (yellow), 594 nm (orange) and 617 nm (red). The emission color of the Eu,Dy‐co‐doped K3Ca2(SO4)3Cl halophosphor depends on the doping concentration and excitation wavelength. The addition of Eu in K3Ca2(SO4)3Cl:Dy greatly enhances the intensity of the blue and yellow peaks, which corresponds to the 4 F9/26H15/2 and 4 F9/26H13/2 transitions of Dy3+ ions (under 351 nm excitation). The Eu3+/Dy3+ co‐doping also produces white light emission for 1 mol% of Eu3+, 1 mol% of Dy3+ in the K3Ca2(SO4)3Cl lattice under 396 nm excitation, for which the calculated chromaticity coordinates are (0.35, 0.31). Thus, K3Ca2(SO4)3Cl co‐doped with Eu/Dy is a suitable candidate for NUV based white light‐emitting phosphors technology. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Perovskite‐type solid‐state electrolytes exhibit great potential for the development of all‐solid‐state lithium batteries due to their high Li‐ion conductivity (approaching 10?3 S cm?1), wide potential window, and excellent thermal/chemical stability. However, the large solid–solid interfacial resistance between perovskite electrolytes and electrode materials is still a great challenge that hinders the development of high‐performance all‐solid‐state lithium batteries. In this work, a perovskite‐type Li0.34La0.51TiO3 (LLTO) membrane with vertically aligned microchannels is constructed by a phase‐inversion method. The 3D vertically aligned microchannel framework membrane enables more effective Li‐ion transport between the cathode and solid‐state electrolyte than a planar LLTO membrane. A significant decrease in the perovskite/cathode interfacial resistance, from 853 to 133 Ω cm2, is observed. It is also demonstrated that full cells utilizing LLTO with vertically aligned microchannels as the electrolyte exhibit a high specific capacity and improved rate performance.  相似文献

Partially amorphous La0.6Sr0.4CoO3‐δ (LSC) thin‐film cathodes are fabricated using pulsed laser deposition and are integrated in free‐standing micro‐solid oxide fuel cells (micro‐SOFC) with a 3YSZ electrolyte and a Pt anode. A low degree of crystallinity of the LSC layers is achieved by taking advantage of the miniaturization of the cells, which permits low‐temperature operation (300–450 °C). Thermomechanically stable micro‐SOFC are obtained with strongly buckled electrolyte membranes. The nanoporous columnar microstructure of the LSC layers provides a large surface area for oxygen incorporation and is also believed to reduce the amount of stress at the cathode/electrolyte interface. With a high rate of failure‐free micro‐SOFC membranes, it is possible to avoid gas cross‐over and open‐circuit voltages of 1.06 V are attained. First power densities as high as 200–262 mW cm?2 at 400–450 °C are achieved. The area‐specific resistance of the oxygen reduction reaction is lower than 0.3 Ω cm2 at 400 °C around the peak power density. These outstanding findings demonstrate that partially amorphous oxides are promising electrode candidates for the next‐generation of solid oxide fuel cells working at low‐temperatures.  相似文献

Printing is regarded as a revolutionary and feasible technique to guide the fabrication of versatile functional systems with designed architectures. 2D MXenes are nowadays attractive in printed energy storage devices. However, owing to the van der Waals interaction between the MXene layers, the restacking issues within the printed electrodes can significantly impede the ion/electrolyte transport and hence handicap the electrochemical performances. Herein, a melamine formaldehyde templating method is demonstrated to develop crumpled nitrogen‐doped MXene (MXene‐N) nanosheets. The nitrogen doping boosts the electrochemical performances of MXene via enhanced conductivity and redox activity. Accordingly, two types of MXene‐N inks are prepared throughout the optimization of the ink viscosity to fit the 2D screen printing and 3D extrusion printing, respectively. As a result, the screen printed MXene‐N microsupercapacitor delivers an areal capacitance of 70.1 mF cm?2 and outstanding mechanical robustness. Furthermore, the 3D‐printed MXene‐N based supercapacitor manifests an areal capacitance of 8.2 F cm?2 for a three‐layered electrode and readily stores a high areal energy density of 0.42 mWh cm?2. The approach to harnessing such versatile MXene‐N inks offers distinctive insights into the printed energy storage systems with high areal energy density and large scalability.  相似文献

Lithium–sulfur batteries (LSBs) are currently considered as promising candidates for next‐generation energy storage technologies. However, their practical application is hindered by the critical issue of the polysulfide‐shuttle. Herein, a metal organic framework (MOF)‐derived solid electrolyte is presented to address it. The MOF solid electrolyte is developed based on a Universitetet i Oslo (UIO) structure. By grafting a lithium sulfonate (‐SO3Li) group to the UIO ligand, both the ionic conductivity and the polysulfide‐suppression capability of the resulting ‐SO3Li grafted UIO (UIOSLi) solid electrolyte are greatly improved. After integrating a Li‐based ionic liquid (Li‐IL), lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide in 1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, the resulting Li‐IL/UIOSLi solid electrolyte exhibits an ionic conductivity of 3.3 × 10?4 S cm?1 at room temperature. Based on its unique structure, the Li‐IL/UIOSLi solid electrolyte effectively restrains the polysulfide shuttle and suppresses lithium dendritic growth. Lithium–sulfur cells with the Li‐IL/UIOSLi solid electrolyte and a Li2S6 catholyte show stable cycling performance that preserves 84% of the initial capacity after 250 cycles with a capacity‐fade rate of 0.06% per cycle.  相似文献

Electrocatalytic water splitting is one of the sustainable and promising strategies to generate hydrogen fuel but still remains a great challenge because of the sluggish anodic oxygen evolution reaction (OER). A very effective approach to dramatically decrease the input cell voltage of water electrolysis is to replace the anodic OER with hydrazine oxidation reaction (HzOR) due to its lower thermodynamic oxidation potential. Therefore, developing the low‐cost and efficient HzOR catalysts, coupled with the cathodic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), is tremendously important for energy‐saving electrolytic hydrogen production. Herein, a new‐type of copper–nickel nitride (Cu1Ni2‐N) with rich Cu4N/Ni3N interface is rationally constructed on carbon fiber cloth. The 3D electrode exhibits extraordinary HER performance with an overpotential of 71.4 mV at 10 mA cm?2 in 1.0 m KOH, simultaneously delivering an ultralow potential of 0.5 mV at 10 mA cm?2 for HzOR in a 1.0 m KOH/0.5 m hydrazine electrolyte. Moreover, the electrolytic cell utilizing the synthesized Cu1Ni2‐N electrode as both the cathode and anode display a cell voltage of 0.24 V at 10 mA cm?2 with an excellent stability over 75 h. The present work develops the promising copper–nickel‐based nitride as a bifunctional electrocatalyst through hydrazine‐assistance for energy‐saving electrolytic hydrogen production.  相似文献

A metalorganic gaseous doping approach for constructing nitrogen‐doped carbon polyhedron catalysts embedded with single Fe atoms is reported. The resulting catalysts are characterized using scanning transmission electron microscopy, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and X‐ray absorption spectroscopy; for the optimal sample, calculated densities of Fe–Nx sites and active N sites reach 1.75812 × 1013 and 1.93693 × 1014 sites cm‐2, respectively. Its oxygen reduction reaction half‐wave potential (0.864 V) is 50 mV higher than that of 20 wt% Pt/C catalyst in an alkaline medium and comparable to the latter (0.78 V vs 0.84 V) in an acidic medium, along with outstanding durability. More importantly, when used as a hydrogen–oxygen polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) cathode catalyst with a catalyst loading as low as 1 mg cm‐2 (compared with a conventional loading of 4 mg cm‐2), it exhibits a current density of 1100 mA cm‐2 at 0.6 V and 637 mA cm‐2 at 0.7 V, with a power density of 775 mW cm‐2, or 0.775 kW g–1 of catalyst. In a hydrogen–air PEMFC, current density reaches 650 mA cm‐2 at 0.6 V and 350 mA cm‐2 at 0.7 V, and the maximum power density is 463 mW cm‐2, which makes it a promising candidate for cathode catalyst toward high‐performance PEMFCs.  相似文献

Overcoming the sluggish activity of cathode materials is critical to realizing the wide‐spread application of intermediate‐temperature solid oxide fuel cells. Herein, a new way is reported to tune the performance of perovskite‐type materials as oxygen reduction electrodes by embedding anions (F?) in oxygen sites. The obtained perovskite oxyfluorides SrFeO3?σ ?δ Fσ and SrFe0.9Ti0.1O3?σ ?δ Fσ (σ = 0.05 and 0.10) show improved electrocatalytic activity compared to their parent oxides, achieving area specific resistance values of 0.875, 0.393, and 0.491 Ω cm2 for SrFeO3?δ , SrFeO2.95?δ F0.05, and SrFeO2.90?δ F0.10, respectively, at 600 °C in air. Such improved performance is a result of the improved bulk diffusion and surface exchange properties due to anion doping. Moreover, favorable stability in performance is also demonstrated for the F? anion‐doped perovskites as oxygen reduction electrodes at 650 °C for a test period of ≈200 h. A combination of anion doping and cation doping may provide a highly attractive strategy for the future development of cathode materials.  相似文献

Conjugated polymers with high electrical conductivities are attractive for applications in capacitors, biosensors, organic thermoelectrics, and transparent electrodes. Here, a series of solution processable dioxythiophene copolymers based on 3,4‐propylenedioxythiophene (ProDOT) and 3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) is investigated as thermoelectric and transparent electrode materials. Through structural manipulation of the polymer repeat unit, the conductivity of the polymers upon oxidative solution doping is tuned from 1 × 10?3 to 3 S cm?1, with a polymer consisting of a solubilizing alkylated ProDOT unit and an electron‐rich biEDOT unit (referred to as PE2) showing the highest electrical conductivity. Optimization of the film casting method and screening of dopants result in AgPF6‐doped PE2 achieving a high electrical conductivity of over 250 S cm?1 and a thermoelectric power factor of 7 μW m?1 K?2. Oxidized spray cast films of PE2 are also assessed as a transparent electrode material for use with another electrochromic polymer. This bilayer shows reversible electrochemical switching from a colored charge‐neutral state to a highly transmissive color‐neutral, oxidized state. These results demonstrate that dioxythiophene‐based copolymers are a promising class of materials, with ProDOT–biEDOT serving as a soluble analog to the well‐studied PEDOT as a p‐type thermoelectric and electrode material.  相似文献

A simple method was developed to prepare ultra‐low Pt loading membrane electrode assembly (MEA) using vertically aligned carbon nanotubes (VACNTs) as highly ordered catalyst support for PEM fuel cells application. In the method, VACNTs were directly grown on the cheap household aluminum foil by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD), using Fe/Co bimetallic catalyst. By depositing a Pt thin layer on VACNTs/Al and subsequent hot pressing, Pt/VACNTs can be 100% transferred from Al foil onto polymer electrolyte membrane for the fabrication of MEA. The whole transfer process does not need any chemical removal and destroy membrane. The PEM fuel cell with the MEA fabricated using this method showed an excellent performance with ultra‐low Pt loading down to 35 μg cm?2 which was comparable to that of the commercial Pt catalyst on carbon powder with 400 μg cm?2. To the best of our knowledge, for the first time, we identified that it is possible to substantially reduce the Pt loading one order by application of order‐structured electrode based on VACNTs as Pt catalysts support, compared with the traditional random electrode at a comparable performance through experimental and mathematical methods.  相似文献

All‐solid‐state Li‐ion batteries based on Li7La3Zr2O12 (LLZO) garnet structures require novel electrode assembly strategies to guarantee a proper Li+ transfer at the electrode–electrolyte interfaces. Here, first stable cell performances are reported for Li‐garnet, c‐Li6.25Al0.25La3Zr2O12, all‐solid‐state batteries running safely with a full ceramics setup, exemplified with the anode material Li4Ti5O12. Novel strategies to design an enhanced Li+ transfer at the electrode–electrolyte interface using an interface‐engineered all‐solid‐state battery cell based on a porous garnet electrolyte interface structure, in which the electrode material is intimately embedded, are presented. The results presented here show for the first time that all‐solid‐state Li‐ion batteries with LLZO electrolytes can be reversibly charge–discharge cycled also in the low potential ranges (≈1.5 V) for combinations with a ceramic anode material. Through a model experiment, the interface between the electrode and electrolyte constituents is systematically modified revealing that the interface engineering helps to improve delivered capacities and cycling properties of the all‐solid‐state Li‐ion batteries based on garnet‐type cubic LLZO structures.  相似文献

A flexible, transparent, and renewable mesoporous cellulose membrane (mCel‐membrane) featuring uniform mesopores of ≈24.7 nm and high porosity of 71.78% is prepared via a facile and scalable solution‐phase inversion process. KOH‐saturated mCel‐membrane as a polymer electrolyte demonstrates a high electrolyte retention of 451.2 wt%, a high ionic conductivity of 0.325 S cm?1, and excellent mechanical flexibility and robustness. A solid‐state electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) using activated carbon as electrodes, the KOH‐saturated mCel‐membrane as a polymer electrolyte exhibits a high capacitance of 110 F g?1 at 1.0 A g?1, and long cycling life of 10 000 cycles with 84.7% capacitance retention. Moreover, a highly integrated planar‐type micro‐supercapacitor (MSC) can be facilely fabricated by directly depositing the electrode materials on the mCel‐membrane‐based polymer electrolyte without using complicated devices. The resulting MSC exhibits a high areal capacitance of 153.34 mF cm?2 and volumetric capacitance of 191.66 F cm?3 at 10 mV s?1, representing one of the highest values among all carbon‐based MSC devices. These findings suggest that the developed renewable, flexible, mesoporous cellulose membrane holds great promise in the practical applications of flexible, solid‐state, portable energy storage devices that are not limited to supercapacitors.  相似文献

High‐performance zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs)/polybenzimidazole (PBI) nanocomposites are molecularly designed for hydrogen separation at high temperatures, and demonstrate it in a useful configuration as dual‐layer hollow fibers for the first time. By incorporating as‐synthesized nanoporous ZIF‐8 nanoparticles into the high thermal stability but extremely low permeability polybenzimidazole (PBI), the resultant mixed matrix membranes show an impressive enhancement in H2 permeability as high as a hundred times without any significant deduction in H2/CO2 selectivity. The 30/70 ZIF‐8/PBI dense membrane has a H2 permeability of 105.4 Barrer and a H2/CO2 selectivity of 12.3. This performance is far superior to ZIF‐7/PBI membranes and is the best ever reported data for H2‐selective polymeric materials in the literature. Meanwhile, defect‐free ZIF‐8‐PBI/Matrimid dual‐layer hollow fibers are successfully fabricated, without post‐annealing and coating, by optimizing ZIF‐8 nanoparticle loadings, spinning conditions, and solvent‐exchange procedures. Two types of hollow fibers targeted at either high H2/CO2 selectivity or high H2 permeance are developed: i) PZM10‐I B fibers with a medium H2 permeance of 64.5 GPU (2.16 ×10?8 mol m?2 s?1 Pa?1) at 180°C and a high H2/CO2 selectivity of 12.3, and, ii) PZM33‐I B fibers with a high H2 permeance of 202 GPU (6.77 ×10?8 mol m?2 s?1 Pa?1) at 180°C and a medium H2/CO2 selectivity of 7.7. This work not only molecularly designs novel nanocomposite materials for harsh industrial applications, such as syngas and hydrogen production, but also, for the first time, synergistically combines the strengths of both ZIF‐8 and PBI for energy‐related applications.  相似文献

Capacitive carbons are attractive for energy storage on account of their superior rate and cycling performance over traditional battery materials, but they usually suffer from a far lower volumetric energy density. Starting with expanded graphene, a simple, multifunctional molten sodium amide treatment for the preparation of high‐density graphene with high capacitive performance in both aqueous and lithium battery electrolytes is reported. The molten sodium amide can condense the expanded graphene, lead to nitrogen doping and, what is more important, create moderate in‐plane nanopores on graphene to serve as ion access shortcuts in dense graphene stacks. The resulting high‐density graphene electrode can deliver a volumetric capacitance of 522 F cm?3 in a potassium hydroxide electrolyte; and in a lithium‐ion battery electrolyte, it exhibits a gravimetric and volumetric energy density of 618 W h kg?1 and 740 W h L?1, respectively, and even outperforms commercial LiFePO4.  相似文献

Solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs) can efficiently convert the greenhouse‐gas CO2 to valuable fuel CO at the cathodes. Herein, fluorine is doped into mixed ionic–electronic conducting Sr2Fe1.5Mo0.5O6‐δ (SFM), to evaluate its potential use as a cathode for CO2 reduction reaction (CO2‐RR). SFM retains its cubic structure after doped with fluorine, forming perovskite oxyfluoride Sr2Fe1.5Mo0.5O6‐δF0.1 (F‐SFM). The substitution of oxygen by fluorine increases CO2 adsorption by a factor of ≈2, bulk oxygen vacancy concentration by 35–37% at 800 °C, and consequently enhances the surface reaction rate constant for CO2‐RR and chemical bulk diffusion coefficient by factors of 2–3. The faster kinetics are also reflected by a lower polarization resistance of 0.656 Ω cm2 for F‐SFM than 1.130 Ω cm2 for SFM at 800 °C in symmetrical cells. Furthermore, the single cell with F‐SFM cathode exhibits the best CO2 electrolysis performance among the reported perovskite electrodes, achieving current density of 1.36 A cm?2 at 1.5 V and excellent stability over 120 h at 800 °C under harsh conditions. The theoretical computations confirm that fluorine doping is energetically favorable to CO2 adsorption and dissociation. The present work provides a promising strategy for the design of robust cathodes for direct CO2 electrolysis in SOECs.  相似文献

Lithium (Li) metal is a key anode material for constructing next generation high energy density batteries. However, dendritic Li deposition and unstable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) layers still prevent practical application of Li metal anodes. In this work, it is demonstrated that an uniform Li coating can be achieved in a lithium fluoride (LiF) decorated layered structure of stacked graphene (SG), leading to the formation of an SEI‐functionalized membrane that retards electron transfer by three orders of magnitude to avoid undesirable Li deposition on the top surface, and ameliorates Li+ ion migration to enable uniform and dendrite‐free Li deposition beneath such an interlayer. Surface chemistry analysis and density functional theory calculations demonstrate that these beneficial features arise from the formation of C–Fx surface components on the SG sheets during the Li coating process. Based on such an SEI‐functionalized membrane, stable cycling at high current densities up to 3 mA cm?2 and Li plating capacities up to 4 mAh cm?2 can be realized in LiPF6/carbonate electrolytes. This work elucidates the promising strategy of modifying Li plating behavior through the SEI‐functionalized carbon structure, with significantly improved cycling stability of rechargeable Li metal anodes.  相似文献
